Matchbook Nativity!

Today I’m sharing another miniature Match Book Christmas card using Art ImpressionsMB Nativity – 5443 and MB Template Dies (5317). The closed size is 1.75″ x 2″.

To create the card, I began with the card base using Stampin’ Up! Wood Textures double-sided paper, Cuttlebug die-cutting machine and the Art ImpressionsMB Template Dies (5317). From the same die set, the sentiment pop-up and star were cut out using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock and Recollections – Matte Gold Foil cardstock.

With Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI, I stamped all of the images onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in all of the images and then, using the Cuttlebug again, I die cut all of the inside pop-ups using Art ImpressionsMB Nativity – 5443. The windows were done 4 times, 2 for the outside and 2 for the inside of the card. I cut a really small piece of plastic from a clear bag to be the same size as the window and glued it to the card before adding on the outside windows to simulate a window pane. Versafine – Majestic Blue was stamped onto the sentiment pop-up. Lastly, I die cut the envelopes using Craft Smith – Peppermint Twist double-sided paper and Art ImpressionsMB Envelope Die (5318). (Not shown in photo.)

Double-sided tape was applied to do the assembly on the tabs. They were then all adhered to the base card. I created a little 1.5″ x 1.5″ white square and attached it to some Recollections – Red cardstock. I then cut around it again to create a slim border. I glued this onto the back of the card in order write my sentiment. The card was then folded up and put into the little match book envelope. Double-side tape was also applied to the flaps of the larger envelope to complete the assembly.

Matchbook Santa Christmas!

Today I’m sharing a Match Book sized Christmas card using Art ImpressionsMB Santa Christmas – 5442MB Template Dies (5317), MB Envelope Die (5318)  that I made. Love these little cards as they are so fun to make. The closed size is 1.75″ x 2″.

To create the card, I began with the card base using PhotoPlay – Christmas Memories double-sided paper, Cuttlebug die-cutting machine and the Art ImpressionsMB Template Dies (5317). Using the same dies, I also die cut the flooring using Joy Crafts – Artist Trading Card – Tough Texture. This small paper is excellent for the small detail required. I glued this piece to the base and set it aside.

With Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI, I stamped all of the images and the sentiment onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in all of the images and applied Pental Slicci – Gold 8.0 pen to the lamp post. A Quickie Glue Pen was used to apply Glitter to Santa’s hat and clothing, the stockings, Christmas Tree Bulbs and on the wreath. With the Cuttlebug, I die cut all of the inside pop-ups using Art ImpressionsMB Santa Christmas 5442 and the envelopes using Craft Smith – Peppermint Twist double-sided paper and the Art ImpressionsMB Envelope Die (5318). (Not shown in photo.)

Double-sided tape was applied to do the assembly on the tabs and wall items. They were then all adhered to the base card as show above. I created a little 1.5″ x 1.5″ white square and attached it to some Recollections – Red cardstock. I then cut around it again to create a slim border. I glued this onto the back of the card in order write my sentiment. The card was then folded up and put into the little match book envelope.

Sweet As Candy Canes!

Today I’m sharing a Christmas card that I made using KLM Digital DesignsCandy Cane Gnome II from the new October 2024 Release. This image also comes with 2 more sentiments, “Sugar & Stripes and everything nice!” and “Cane you believe it’s Christmas?”.

The base card was created to the size of 4.25″ x 5.5″ out of Hammermill – Premium 110 lb. cardstock. I had some dark green cardstock in my stash and decided to cut it to the same size as the base and glue it on. I loved the beautiful patterned paper from Craft Smith – Peppermint Twist and thought it went great with the image, so I cut that to be 4.25″ x 4.25″. The edges were inked around with Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Festive Berries and it was adhered to the centre of the card. AC Premium Candy Cane Ribbon was applied to the top and bottom of the card using double-sided tape.

The image and sentiment were printed out with my HP Printer onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using High Quality Grayscale and the image was coloured in with Copic markers listed below. Clear – Wink of Stella was then applied over all of the candy cane to make it sparkle. Both the image and the sentiment were fussy cut leaving a small white border around the image. The sentiment was coloured with YG61 Copic marker and then edged with a finger dauber and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Rustic Wilderness.

The card was now ready to assemble. U-Line Double-Sided Foam Tape was applied to the image and sentiment and they were popped up onto the card. To finish it off 3 candy canes were added from Eyelet Outlet & Brads – Candy Cane using 2 layers of U-Line Double-Sided Foam Tape after I had removed the back tabs from them.
