Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!!

Today I am sharing a Happy St. Patrick’s Day card I made using Gerda Steiner StampsSt. Patrick’s Day Cat and Hat Digital Stamp stamp for the image and Lawn Fawn – Celebration Scripty Sentiments for the sentiment. Lawn Fawn – Clover Background Stencils were used to create the background.

To make my cards this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Cardstock 110 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. I created the background using Lawn Fawn – Clover Background Stencils, and applying Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Lucky Clover for the first layer and then Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Pine Needles for the second layer along with the Lucky Clover ink in spots using an ink blending brush. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Pine Needles was then applied all around the edges of the card using a finger dauber.

The image was imported into Microsoft Word and then printed out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card paper using HP Printer Grayscale. With my Cuttlebug, I die cut the image using dies from My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Die Layers. The image was coloured in with Copic Markers and then Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Mowed Lawn was applied around the edges of the die cut.

The sentiment was stamped directly onto the base card using Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and MISTI for placement. I embossed the sentiment with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder and then heat embossed it with a Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. U-Line Double-Sided Foam Tape was applied to back of the coloured image and it was popped up onto the centre of the card. Lastly, I added in a few sparkly Gumdrops from Your Next Stamp.

St. Patty’s Day 2021!!

Sharing this adorable image called St. Patty’s Day Gnome from KLM Digital Designs today from the new February release. My grandmother and her family migrated from Ireland to Canada many, many years ago, so St. Patrick’s Day is extra special to our family. We even used to joke that my one Uncle looked like a Leprechaun. LOL! May the luck of the Irish be with you all this coming St. Patrick’s Day.

To make the card, I printed out the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around the image and coloured it in with Copic markers.

I used Hammermill paper to create the base shape of the card 8.5″ x 4.25″. I scored the paper at 4.25″. I opened up Microsoft Word and imported the background papers from Leska’s Digitals – St. Patrick’s Day. For the main background I sized the image to to 5.5″ x 4.25″ and then imported the sentiment from KLM Digital Designs St. Patty’s Day Gnome and gave it a green background. I brought the sentiment to the front on the main background so that it would print out in one piece. For the smaller oval, I imported the image from Leska’s Digitals – St. Patrick’s Day papers and sized it to 4.25″ x 3.5″.

For the inside of the card, I imported the papers image and then sized it at 5.25″ x 4″. I drew a white rectangle at 4.75″x3.5″ and placed it over top of the background. I imported the images for the 2 KLM sentiments St. Patty’s Day Gnome and brought them to the front within Microsoft Word. I also added a small square with a larger shamrock. Then I printed out everything on my printer.

I used Hero Arts – Infinity Die Ovals to die cut the background oval and green oval on the front of the card. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Forest Moss was used to ink around all of the edges of the card and the ovals. Using double sided tape, I attached the large background directly to the base of the card and the sentiment print out to the inside of the card. I fussy cut around the large shamrock, applied some glue to the back of it and attached it to the inside of the card.

I ran the small oval through my Xyron Creative Station to make it a sticker and then attached it directly to the larger oval. To complete the card, I applied 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the back of the large oval and coloured image and then popped them both up on the front of the card.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!

Let the Shenanigans Begin

Today, I’m sharing this fun Shamrock Gnome (KLM Digital Designs) who is enjoying his lucky 4-leaf clover!  My mom’s family is part Irish and so St. Patty’s Day is always celebrated in our home. Let’s hope this little Gnome spreads some luck for everyone.

I printed out the image with my HP Printer onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using Grayscale. Then I die cut the image with Your Next Stamp – Stitched Rectangle Die Set. I coloured in the image with Copic markers and then attached the die cut back over top of the image. This allowed me to create the background and leave a white border all around the image.

Next, I printed out both sentiments using Black ink only. I glued the background paper and ribbon onto a base of 4″ x 5.25″. I inked around the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Lucky Clover and then pasted everything onto a 4.25″ x 5.5″ card base. Lastly, I popped up the coloured image and sentiments with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

Happy St. Paddy’s Day!

It’s Wednesday, and I’m back to share this adorable little Leprechaun who is happily sitting on his pot of gold. My grandmother was Irish and so I’ve been celebrating St. Patrick’s Day since I was a little girl. My mom decorates the entire house with Shamrocks and Leprechauns each year to celebrate the occasion. LOL!

To create this card I used Lucky’s Pot O’ Gold – P030 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the main image and Fancy St. Paddy’s – G147 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment.

I stamped the image and then used Copic markers to colour in the image. For the rainbow, I used a circle from the My Creative Time dies as a stencil and the chisel side of the markers. Once coloured, I mounted all of the various papers and layers onto 5.5″ x 4.25″ card base. The edges were inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mowed Lawn.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Lucky’s Pot O’ Gold – P030 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Tools: MISTI – Most Incredible Stamping Tool, Cuttlebug

Clover – Lucky Lady

Hi There,

Sassy Studio Designs had a challenge this month to come up with an idea using “Clover”.

Unfortunately, I was so busy that I missed giving the card to my hubby for St. Patrick’s Day. So I came up with “Plan B”. LOL! He’s so good to me that when I saw the sentiment and the clover stamp that I had, it all clicked.

Here is my card…..

Here is a close-up of “Clover”.

Sky – Classic Stampin Pot – Stampin’ Up – Tempting Turquoise

Clouds – Used as a template – Craftin Desert Diva’s – Outdoor Landscape Dies

To outline various parts on the characters, I used various colours of chalk. Eyelashes were done with Pigma Micron 03 Archival Ink Pen. Eye highlights with Gelly Roll Sakura #8 Pen.

Grass – Shamrocks from – Cricut Cartridge – A Child’s Year. “St. Patrick’s #M2F10F”. Next, I copied and pasted all 3 images twice more. Then printed out to the Cricut Explore telling it to print the image 8 times.

Used my Xyron Creative Station  and Xyron Create a Sticker to for all of the pieces to make it easier to put everything together.
