Birthday Girl!!

Sharing image and sentiment from KLM Digital Designs today from the new February release called Karah’s Cupcake. This stamp set comes with 3 sentiments. This image brings back memories of when I was little and my mom used to bake us fancy cakes and cupcakes for our birthdays every year.

To make the card, I first imported the image and sentiment into Microsoft Word. I sized both the image and sentiment to fit 5″ x 3.6″ and printed everything out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. The image was coloured in with Copic markers. I had a few issues with her hair using my markers, so I used PrismaColor pencils to try and fix it. For the shadow behind the girl, I just used the same 2 markers several times on the background wall. I die cut some pink cardstock using Your Next Stamp – Stitched Rectangle Die Set and then inked around the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Picked Raspberry.

I used Hot Buy Recollections Card base of 5.25″ x 4.25″ for the base and attached the die cut directly to the base using double-sided tape. The completed image was popped up using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to finish off the card.

Finally, Pigma Micron 03 black marker was used to give the dinosaur some eyelashes. Once all of the colouring was completed, I attached the image to the base using double-sided tape.

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a fun card using  Burts Bath – R103 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the main image and Filled With Bubbles – H119 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Burt sure looks happy as he’s letting all of his troubles float away! LOL!

To make my card this week, I used Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock for my base folded at 5.5″ x 4.25″. For the main background, I used Doodlebug Design Inc. – Under The Sea paper cut to the same size as the base and attached it using double-sided tape. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Picked Raspberry was used to ink around all of the edges. Whimsy Stamps – Slimline Pillows Die was used to cut out the shape for the sentiment and Die-Namics My Favourite Things – PCD Fishtail Figs STX for the flag behind the sentiment. I inked around the edges of the sentiment die cut with Copic Marker – BV04 to frame it. Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Peacock Feathers was used to ink around the edges of the flag. Avery Elle – Wonky Stitches Die was used to die cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card.

I stamped the image and sentiment using Memento – Tuxedo Black using my MISTI and coloured in the image using Copic markers. I added 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the back of the coloured image and attached it to the base card. I ran the flag through my Xyron Create a Sticker as I wanted it to lay completely flat against the background. I attached this to the base and then added 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the back of the sentiment and attached it over top of the flag and the base. To complete the card, I added a few bubble embellishments from The Robin’s Nest – Peony using Ranger Glossy Accents.

Over The Hill Dinosaur!!

Sharing the first image and sentiment from KLM Digital Designs today from the new February release called Dinosaur Collection. Love this collection and the images are great for masculine cards too! Over the next few days, more images and sentiments from this set will be posted. Watch for them! LOL!

To make the card, I printed out the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer and coloured it in with Copic markers. Microsoft Word was used to import the shape and line weight of 3 was used for the thickness. I imported the sentiment and sized it to fit inside the shape. This was printed out on Recollections – White cardstock and then I used my cutter to keep the lines straight.

To add some dimension to the card, I die cut some small clouds using Nellie’s Choice – Nature Scene Dies – NSD002 – Sky using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. paper. Copic markers were used to add some colour to them. My Creative Time – Stitched Squares Inside and Out die was used to cut out the main image and Creative Expression Craft Dies by Sue Wilson – Noble Dies – Double Pierced Squares – Set B were used to die cut the larger square using Recollections – Black cardstock.

To assemble the card, the 2 squares were attached using double-sided tape. The clouds and sentiment were popped up using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. Larger cloud was attached with Tombow glue.

Polar Bear and Friend!!

Sharing this adorable image called Polar Bear and Friend from KLM Digital Designs today from the January release. This set comes with 3 sentiments, “You are Amazing”, “You’re My Sunshine on a Rainy Day” and “Best Friends Forever”, which I used on my card.

To make the card, I printed out the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around the image and coloured it in with Copic markers. The sentiment was brought into Microsoft Word.  I imported the shape within Microsoft Word and used a weight of 3 for the solid line. Then, I brought the sentiment to the front and centred it in the middle of the shape. I printed this out on Recollections White cardstock and then just fussy cut around it.

I used AC White paper to create the base shape of the card 12″ x 6″. I scored the paper at 6″. I used Recollections – Blue Ombre Cardstock for the main background, cut to the same size as the base card. This was attached using double-sided tape.

Essentials by Tattered Lace Dies – Easel Slider dies and my Cuttlebug were used to die cut Hot Buy Craft Smart – Holiday Glitz Glitter Paper, Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. and Stampin’ Up – Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper. Penny Black – Winter Roof die was used to die cut the icicles. The snow drifts on the bottom of the card were die cut using dies from Lawn Fawn – Stitched Hillside Borders. Once the icicles and snow drifts were die cut, I used the Tattered Lace die cut again so that everything would layer to the shape of the smaller rectangle. I used my Cuttlebug and Cuttlebug – Snow Dots stencil twice to create the texture to the larger rectangle. Gina K Designs – Glitz Glitter Gel was added to the icicles and front layer of snow. Stickles – Diamond was used to add texture to the back snow drift. Once everything was dry, I inked around all of the outside edges of the snow, rectangular shapes and main background with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Blueprint Sketch.

To assemble the card, I used double-sided tape to attach the large rectangle shape directly to the base card. The smaller rectangle shape was assembled separately, then attached to the larger rectangular shape using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. Tombo glue was used to add the icicles and layers of snow to the smaller rectangluar shape. The image and sentiment were popped up using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. To complete the card, Stickles – Diamond was added below the bear to create a shadow and also some streaks along the snow.

When You Believe!

Today, I’m sharing an inspirational card that I made using Dreamerland Crafts stamps called When You Believe – D20007. I’ve been told that to become a ballet dancer it takes a lot of hard work and practice. This can also be said for many other professions as well. The overwhelming feeling of success and joy when one achieves their goals is always worth the hard work.

To make this card I used a base card of 5.5″ x 4.25″ using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. I printed out the background using my HP Printer and pattern from Nana Vics Digitals – Ballerina #1 Digital Paper. I cut it the same size as the base card and used double-sided tape to attached it on top. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Picked Raspberry was used to ink around all of the edges.

I stamped the image using Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in the image with Copic markers. My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies and my Cuttlebug were used to die cut the image. I stamped the sentiment using my MISTI and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Picked Raspberry onto Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. Then, I cleaned off the stamp and stamped the sentiment again, this time using VersMark ink. I added Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder and then heat embossed the powder with Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. I fussy cut around the sentiment and used Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Picked Raspberry ink to ink around the edges. The image was then centred over the fancy rectangle I die cut using DIY Scrapbooking Artist – Nested Stitched Scallop Rectangle Dies using glue.

To assemble the card, I added 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the backs of the large triangle and sentiment. These were both attached directly to the patterned background. Lastly, to complete the card, I used some Craftin’ Desert Divas – Sherbet Sequins for embellishments.

Card Recipe:

Stamp and Sentiment:  When You  Believe – D20007 (Dreamerland Crafts)

Inks: Memento – Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Picked Raspberry, VersaMark, HP Printer – Colour

Kit and Clowder – January 2021 Markers Class

Hi There,

Sharing with you my finished Melting Moments card after completing the January 2021 Markers class from Kit and Clowder. Image is called “Melting Moments – Agnes Elephant” by Polkadoodles.

For this project I used Copic markers. Alyce from Kit and Clowder also teaches you how to use alternative markers as well. Which I really love, since I also have the full Spectrum Noir collection.

I had a lot of fun doing this class as it taught me a lot of new techniques. Loved creating the details for the shoes and flowers on the cup. Also, the bricks were much easier to do than I would have thought.

I framed the picture with some black cardstock and added Forever In Time – Ribbons and Trims Sticker on the left hand side of the card.

Hope you like it!

He Is Risen!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made an Easter Card using  He Lives! – R057 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the main image and He Is Risen! – H137 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. I really love the serenity of this image. Here’s hoping that we will get to spend Easter with our loved ones this year.

To make my card this week, I used AC Cardstock for my base folded at 6″ x 6″. For the main background, I used this beautiful paper from Heartfelt Creations – Flowering Dogwood Collections cut to the same size as the base and attached it using double-sided tape. Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Peeled Paint was used to ink around all of the edges. My Creative Time – Scalloped Stitched Oval Dies was used to cut all of the ovals and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Die Layers was used to cut the small rectangle. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Fossilized Amber was used to ink around the large scalloped oval and Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Dusty Concord was used to ink around the larger oval and small rectangle. I used 2 types of purple ribbon and ran both pieces through my Xyron Create a Sticker to make it easier to attach them to each other and then onto the card. I used some double-sided tape and glue to adhere the larger oval to the base. 3M VHB – 2 sided tape was used to add the larger oval.

I stamped the image and sentiment using Memento – Tuxedo Black and my MISTI onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in the image using Copic markers. For the sentiment, I found the white was too bright, so I coloured over it with a soft purple Copic marker – V01. I added 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the back of the coloured image and placed it on top of the larger oval. For the sentiment, I doubled up on the 3M VHB – 2 sided tape before attaching it to the card.

Stamp:  He Lives! – R057 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Happy Bee-lated!!

Sharing a bee-lated birthday card I made using this adorable image called Bee Gnome from KLM Digital Designs today. This adorable image also comes with 3 sentiments.

To make the card, I printed out the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around the image and coloured it in with Copic markers. To add some honey coming out of the large jar, I used a Q-Tip and VersaMark ink to create the overflow and then added Emerald Creek – Seth Apter – Vintage Beeswax Baked Texture embossing powder. This was heat set using my Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. I did this twice. The image was put through my Xyron Creative Station to turn the image into a sticker. I attached the image to some black cardstock and fussy cut around the image again.

I used Hammermill paper to create the base shape of the card 8.5″ x 4.25″. I scored the paper at 4.25″. I opened up Microsoft Word and imported the background papers from Bee Digital Paper – Digital Designs and Art. For the main background I sized the image to to 5.25″ x 4″. I drew 2 large ovals within the Microsoft Word application and made 1 black and the other a honey yellow colour. I imported the sentiment from Bee Gnome (KLM Digital Designs) and placed it in front of the smaller oval. Then I printed out everything on my printer. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Fossilized Amber was used to ink around all of the sides of the background paper.

To assemble the card, I added double-sided tape to the back of the background paper and attached it directly to the base. 3M VHB – 2 sided tape was added to the back of the image then popped up on the front of the card. Missing You!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I used Thoughtful Kimberly – H202 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the main image and One Of Those Days – F252 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. I think the sentiment says it all for this card. With Covid, so many of us are not able to see our loved ones, so we can dream of when we will be able to see them all again soon.

To make my card this week, I used Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. for my base at 4.25″ x 5.5″. I ran some brown cardstock through my Cuttlebug using Darice – Brick Wall Background. Then I inked on top of it using a variety of Tim Holtz distress inks which I have listed below. To make the window frame, I die cut the window using Spellbinders Die D-Lites – S2-016- Window Two using my Cuttlebug and Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb paper. I die cut this twice. I cut the centre frame out of both windows. I used the first die-cut window to create my base. Then, I cut the patterned paper from Creative Memories – Secret Garden to create my background for behind the little girl. I also cut Judi-Kins – Embossable Window Plastic to match the size of the side windows and the window above the girls head. I glued the plastic windows to each side of the window frame and then attached the second cut piece over top with glue. For the top window, I attached the plastic window behind it first and then added the background paper to it and the entire open window.

I stamped both the images and sentiment using my Misti and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in the image using Copic Markers. I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut out the image. The sentiment and frame were cut with My Creative Time – Rectangle Dies. I ran the cut sentiment through my Xyron Create a Sticker and then placed it directly on top of the larger rectangle. I added the little girl to the inside of the window using glue on the back of her. To complete my card, I added 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the back of the window centre part and the large rectangle and popped them up top of the brick background.

Card Recipe:

When You Love Someone!

Today, I’m sharing a Valentine’s card that I made using Dreamerland Crafts stamps called When You Love Someone – D20005. I just love this adorable couple. This image could also be used for an Anniversary card too!

To make this card I used a base card of 6″ x 6″ using AC White cardstock. I added the base background using the paper from Stampin’ Up! – Have a Cuppa with double-sided tape. Then, I die-cut 4 hearts using my Cuttlebug and Sizzix Framelets by Stephanie Barnard – 562676 – Hearts Dotted. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Worn Lipstick and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Evergreen Bough were used to colour around the edges of the card and also all of the hearts.

I stamped the image using Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in the image with Copic markers. Then I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around the image. I stamped the sentiment using Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and my MISTI. I used Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder and then heat embossed the powder with Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool onto the smallest heart.

To assemble the card, the largest heart was attached directly to the base background using glue. I added 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the backs of the remaining hearts and coloured image and then layered them on top of each other. To complete the card, I added in some hearts from Jot – Jewel Stickers.

St. Patty’s Day 2021!!

Sharing this adorable image called St. Patty’s Day Gnome from KLM Digital Designs today from the new February release. My grandmother and her family migrated from Ireland to Canada many, many years ago, so St. Patrick’s Day is extra special to our family. We even used to joke that my one Uncle looked like a Leprechaun. LOL! May the luck of the Irish be with you all this coming St. Patrick’s Day.

To make the card, I printed out the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around the image and coloured it in with Copic markers.

I used Hammermill paper to create the base shape of the card 8.5″ x 4.25″. I scored the paper at 4.25″. I opened up Microsoft Word and imported the background papers from Leska’s Digitals – St. Patrick’s Day. For the main background I sized the image to to 5.5″ x 4.25″ and then imported the sentiment from KLM Digital Designs St. Patty’s Day Gnome and gave it a green background. I brought the sentiment to the front on the main background so that it would print out in one piece. For the smaller oval, I imported the image from Leska’s Digitals – St. Patrick’s Day papers and sized it to 4.25″ x 3.5″.

For the inside of the card, I imported the papers image and then sized it at 5.25″ x 4″. I drew a white rectangle at 4.75″x3.5″ and placed it over top of the background. I imported the images for the 2 KLM sentiments St. Patty’s Day Gnome and brought them to the front within Microsoft Word. I also added a small square with a larger shamrock. Then I printed out everything on my printer.

I used Hero Arts – Infinity Die Ovals to die cut the background oval and green oval on the front of the card. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Forest Moss was used to ink around all of the edges of the card and the ovals. Using double sided tape, I attached the large background directly to the base of the card and the sentiment print out to the inside of the card. I fussy cut around the large shamrock, applied some glue to the back of it and attached it to the inside of the card.

I ran the small oval through my Xyron Creative Station to make it a sticker and then attached it directly to the larger oval. To complete the card, I applied 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the back of the large oval and coloured image and then popped them both up on the front of the card.

Stamp and Sentiments: St. Patty’s Day (KLM Digital Designs)

Not Horsin’ Round

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I’m sharing another Valentine’s card I made using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Horsin’ Around Horsey – P130. This little horse and his little friend are trotting by to wish you a Happy Valentine’s Day.

To make my CAS card today, I used The Paper Studio – Primary Base Colours 4.25″ x 5.5″. I die cut the 2 background hearts papers from Martha Stewart Crafts – Enchanted Woodland, using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies. I die cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using My Creative Time – Scalloped Stitched Oval Dies. The image was stamped onto the die cut using my Misti and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured in the image using Copic Markers. Then I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Festive Berries to ink around the edges of all of the die cuts.

To assemble the card, double-sided tape was used to adhere the first layer directly to the card base. 3M VHB – 2 sided tape was added to the backs of the coloured image and second layer of pattened paper and then they were added to the base. To complete the card, I added 3 hearts from Buttons Galore & More – Heartfelt Shimmerz Embellishments.

Ella the Elephant!!

Today, I’m sharing a card using this adorable image from KLM Digital Designs new February release called Ella The Elephant. The image comes with 3 different sentiments. Like so many others, I’ve been missing my family and friends a lot due to Covid lockdowns, so I chose the “Miss You” sentiment for my card. Hopefully, times will get better this year and we’ll be able to see our distant families and friends again.

To make the card, I printed out the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around the image and coloured it in with Copic markers.

I used AC White Cardstock for the base card size of 6″ x 6″ and ScrapBerry’s Tropics paper for the background. I ran the image through my Xyron Creative Station because I wanted it to lay flat on the background. I used my Cuttlebug to die cut the grass using Lawn Fawn – Grassy Hillside Borders and green cardstock. Then I edged around it using Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Peeled Paint. I applied double-sided tape to the back of the grass and applied it directly to the base, then I positioned the elephant in front and behind the grass.

Card Recipe:

Stamp and Sentiment: Ella The Elephant (KLM Digital Designs)

Inks: HP Printer Grayscale, HP Printer Black, Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Peeled Paint

Paper: Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, AC White Cardstock, ScrapBerry’s Tropics – 6×6 Paper Collection, Lime Green cardstock

Die Cut: Lawn Fawn – Grassy Hillside Borders

Tools: Cuttlebug, Xyron Creative Station

Image coloured with Copic Markers:

Elephant: W3, W2, W1, W0, R22, R20, B04, B02, B00, C1

Ribbon and Flower: RV14, RV13, RV10, Y17, Y08
