Surprise Gnome!!

Sharing a birthday card I made today using KLM Digital Design –  Surprise Gnome from the new December release. This image also comes with 2 more sentiments, “Let’s Celebrate!” and “Let’s party”.

I created the base using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. I cut the paper and folded it to the size of 5.5″ x 4.25″. I cut the background paper to be the same size as the background using Echo Park – It’s Your Birthday paper and glued it to the front of the base card. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Evergreen Bough was used to ink around the edges. I imported the image and sentiment into Microsoft Word and printed them out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The image was coloured in with Copic markers. Using scissors, I fussy cut around the coloured image and sentiment. I ran the sentiment through my Xyron Create a Sticker.  I attached this to some Aqua cardstock and fussy cut around it again. U-Line double sided tape was applied to the backs of the image and the sentiment and they were popped up onto the card. I tied some black thread to some balloon brads and then popped them up onto the card using double-sided tape.

Santa Candy Cane

Today, I’m featuring this adorable Santa image from Conie Fong Art called Holiday Gnomes Bundle By Conie Fong.

For the base card, I used Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock and cut it and scored it to be 5.5″ x 5.5″. For the background, I cut Craft Smith – Peppermint Twist paper to the same size as the base card and inked around the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Candied Apple. I adhered this to the base card with double-sided tape. AC – Green cardstock was die cut with my Cuttlebug and Essentials by Tattered Lace Dies – Easel Slider dies. Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Peeled Paint was used to ink around all of the edges and it was popped up onto the base card using U-Line double-sided tape.

The image using HP High Quality Grayscale was printed onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and die cut using my Cuttlebug and Essentials by Tattered Lace Dies – Easel Slider dies. The image was coloured in with Copic markers and Cosmic Shimmer Fluffy Stuff and WOW! Sparkling Snow Embossing Glitter were added to the brim of the hat and pompom. Ranger – Emboss It Pen Clear was added in parts at the bottom for snow and WOW! Sparkling Snow Embossing Glitter was applied. The hat, pompom and snow were all then heat embossed using my Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. Stickles – Crystal was also added to the snow to add a little more sparkle. Lastly, using a Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen, I added snow to the background sky. Today, I’m sharing a card I made using KLM Digital Designs –  Office Gnome from the new November release. This image also comes with 2 more sayings: “You got this!” and “Strive for progress, not perfection”. This card would also be great for someone you know just starting a new position or a recent graduate as well.

To make the card, I started with a base created with Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock cut and folded to the size of 5.5″ x 4.25″. I taped off the top of the card with some Post-It Note tape and inserted the Heffy Doodle – Cityscape stencil over top of the bottom half of the card. I taped off the bottom of the stencil and the sides to keep it place. Using multiple Picket Fence – Blending Brushes, I added in the buildings using Memento – Gray Flannel, Memento – London Fog and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Hickory Smoke. I removed the stencil and reapplied it over the card, this time using the stencil to cover the buildings. I re-applied the tape to the bottom of the stencil to keep it in place. Using stencils that I had previously created using Avery Elle – Pierced Clouds Die, I applied the clouds in using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Fossilized Amber, Picked Raspberry and Salty Ocean with Picket Fence – Blending Brushes. I removed the stencil and turned it around. This time using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Hickory Smoke to add in the windows on the buildings along with just a touch of Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Fossilized Amber. I moved the tape up to where the buildings ended on the bottom and once again placed it across the card. This time, I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot. The background was now complete.

The image and sentiment were both imported into Microsoft Word and printed out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I used my Brother Scan and Cut to die cut the image with a small margin around it. This was coloured in with Copic markers. My Cuttlebug, My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers were used to die cut the sentiment and black cardstock. U-Line double-sided tape was applied to the backs of the images and 2 die cuts to pop-up them all up onto the finished background to complete the card.

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Let’s Sew – TLF031 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Needle & Thread- FFL024 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. To make my card this week, I began with a card base of AC Cardstock – White, cut and scored it to be 6″ x 6″. I cut the 1st and 2nd layers using Recollections – Purple Passions paper. The 1st cut was 6″ x 6″ and the 2nd layer was cut to 5.75″ x 5.75″. These 2 layers were attached directly to the base using double-sided tape. The patterned background paper from Crafts – Designer Paper was cut to the size of 5.5″ x 5.5″ and popped up using U-Line double-sided tape. The smaller square was die cut from Recollections – Purple Passions paper using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out to the size of 4″ x 4″. This was popped up using U-Line double-sided tape onto the centre of the last square. Lastly, Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card was die cut using Spellbinders Nestabilities – Square Swatches for the image and My Creative Time Dies – Stiched Decorative Banners for the sentiment. The image and sentiment were both stamped onto the die cuts using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I inked around the edges of the sentiment with some purple ink that was still left on my blending brush from a previous project I had worked on. Then it was popped up onto the card using U-Line double-sided tape. Lastly, the image was coloured in with Copic markers and I created some writing on the sewing machine to represent various stitch patterns using a Gelly Roll Sakura #5 Pen. Pental Sunburst Metalic Med Gel Pen – Silver pen was used for the needle holder and the foot on the sewing machine. Once, this was all completed, I applied the image to the centre of the smallest square using double-sided tape to complete the card.

Dropping A Line!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a birthday card using Just Fishin’ – TLF029 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Dropping A Line – FFL013 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. High Hopes just released November “Gnome Mania”. There are so many new super adorable gnomes to choose from.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. I cut the background paper from Rust coloured cardstock to be the same size and applied this directly to the base card using double-sided tape. Using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers, I die cut the patterned paper from Photo-Play – Camp Happy Bear. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Evergreen Bough was used to ink around the edges. I added some thin double-sided U-line tape to this piece and popped it up onto the background. With my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped both the image and the sentiment onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. Craftin Desert Diva’s – Inside Scalloped Squares dies were used to die cut the Rust coloured paper and Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I cut a 3.75″ square out of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock and used this to piece the 2 die-cuts together after I finished colouring in the image with Copic Markers. This made the 2 pieces more sturdy for adding double-sided tape to pop it up onto the printed background. I die-cut the sentiment using My Creative Time – Curly Frames and then ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker so that it would lay nice and flat onto the Rust coloured cardstock. I didn’t have a larger border frame, so I used my Brother Scan and Cut to create a border around the die cut. Lastly, to finish off the card, I popped this up using U-Line double-sided tape.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Just Fishin’ – TLF029 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Woodland Gnome!!

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Designs – Woodland Gnome Girl from the new August release. This little gnome is keeping calm even with little bees flying around. I know if it was me, I’d be running for cover. LOL!

This image also comes with 2 other sentiments, “You gno-me too well” and “Just because”.

To make the card, I first imported the image and sentiment into Microsoft Word and printed them out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. Using by Brother Scan and Cut, I cut around the image leaving a small white border. The image was coloured in with Copic markers. For the base card, I used Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. and cut it to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. PhotoPlay – Gnome for the Holidays Thanksgiving paper was cut to the same size as the base and attached using double-sided tape. Lawn Fawn – Watercolor Wishes Rainbow paper was cut to the size of 5.5″ x 2.5″ and glued onto the sunflower paper in the centre. The image was popped up and placed onto the centre of the yellow background paper. Using my Cuttlebug, die cut from Lawn Fawn – Simple Grassy Hillsides and Lawn Fawn – Watercolor Wishes Rainbow paper, I cut the grass. I fussy cut around the printed sentiment and used Copic YGO1 to fill in the background and to go around the fussy cut. I ran this piece through my Xyron Create a Sticker because I wanted the sentiment to lay nice and flat on the grass background. The grass was then centred and popped up on the card. All of the background layers were inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Rustic Wilderness before placing them onto the card. Lastly, to complete the card I added in a few bees from Sprinkletz Embellishments – Bubble Bees.

Card Recipe:

Stamp and sentiment: Woodland Gnome Girl – KLM Digital Designs

Inks: HP Printer Grayscale, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Rustic Wilderness

Paper: Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb., PhotoPlay – Gnome for the Holidays Thanksgiving, Lawn Fawn – Watercolor Wishes Rainbow – 6″ x 6″

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Designs – Thank You Gnome from the new August release. I decided since Autumn and our Canadian Thanksgiving is almost upon us and some of the leaves have begun to change, that I would colour in the letters in the Fall colours.

To make the card, I first imported the image into Microsoft Word and printed it out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I die cut the image to the size of 7.25″ x 3.5″ using my Couture Creations – Go Power and Emboss and My Creative Time – Tall Frame Layers.  For the base card, I cut Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. to the size of 7.25″ x 7″ and scored it at 3.5″. After colouring the image, I applied it to the base using double-sided tape.

I’ve used 1 on my card, but you also have the choice of  “Oak-ey Dokey” and “Hope You are Oak-ky”. I inked around the brown layer with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Gathered Twigs and around the patterned paper with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Rusty Hinge. The largest die cut which was cut from Your Next Stamp – Fabulous Fall patterned paper was applied directly to the card base of 5.5″ x 4.25″ Hammermill – Premium Colour cardstock using double-sided tape. 3M VHB – 2 sided tape was applied to the back of the brown rectangle and adhered directly to the patterened paper. Rabbits Story Time!!

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Designs – Reading Gnome with Rabbits from the new June release. I think this image is such a peaceful scene. These little rabbits are really interested in the story about their cousin Peter Rabbit. We have a little family of wild rabbits that have adopted our backyard yard. I wonder if they’d sit close to me while I read to them. LOL!

To make the card, I first imported the image into Microsoft Word and printed it out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and copy paper using my HP Printer. Using my Cuttlebug, My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers, I die cut black cardstock and the image. I coloured in the image with Copic markers and I created the cloud background using Tim Holtz Distress Ink: Salty Ocean, Broken China, Tumbled Glass with a mixture of cloud stencils I created using Avery Elle – PiercedCloudsDie. I had used my Brother Scan and Cut to create the mask to put over the image while I created the clouds.

To assemble the card, I used Hot Buy – Cards and Envelopes cardstock (5.5″ x 4.25″) for the base. Using double-sided tape, I attached the coloured image and black layer to the base card.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Reading Gnome with Rabbits – KLM Digital Designs

Inks: HP Printer Grayscale, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean, Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Broken China, Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Tumbled Glass

Seas The Day!!

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Designs – Boating Gnome from the new June release. This stamp comes with 2 other sentiments, “It’s a boat time” and “You float my boat”. There’s nothing like getting up early in the morning and rowing a boat along a shore seeing the wildlife when you go camping. It’s so peaceful and serene.

To make the card, I first imported the image into Microsoft Word and printed it out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and copy paper using my HP Printer. Using my Cuttlebug, My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers, I die cut red, blue cardstock and the image. I had used my Brother Scan and Cut to create the mask to put over the image while I created the clouds.

To assemble the card, I used Hot Buy – Cards and Envelopes cardstock (5.5″ x 4.25″) for the base. I attached the coloured image to the blue layer using double-sided tape. 3M VHB – 2 sided tape was applied to backs of the red and blue rectangles and attached directly to the base.

Card of the Month – Round 1!!

Round 1 of the June cards has just started and you can vote until the 7th of June. Sunshine and Seashells!!

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Designs – Seascape Gnome from the May releases. This image also comes with 2 more sentiments, “Seas Every Opportunity” and “Be Shore of Yourself”! I don’t know about you, but I love walking along a beach to collect seashells. It’s always so much fun!

To make the card, I first imported the image into Microsoft Word and printed it out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and a second copy onto regular copy paper using my HP Printer. Using my Brother Scan and Cut, I cut out the image from the copy paper. I used this as a mask to put over my main image. With the mask in place, I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks: Salty Ocean, Broken China and Tumbled Glass along with cloud stencils I had created using Avery Elle – Pierced Clouds Die (D-05-01) set.

Once this was completed, I removed the mask and began to colour in the water and sand. It was now time to colour my gnome. I unfortunately colured the first layer for the bottom of the beard blue, thinking it was part of the robe he was wearing. Uggggh! I didn’t want to start over, so I just finished colouring the mustache with my Copic markers and then tried to see if I could use the same colours to colour over the blue. It  didn’t quite work out a 100%, so I decided to use my PrismaColor Pencils to colour over top of the Copic markers. This seemed to fix it. I moved on to finish the rest of image.

After I was satisfied with the colouring of the image, I trimmed it down to 5.25″ x 4″. I applied double-sided tape to the back of the image and adhered it to a card base of 5.5″ x 4.25″ to complete my card.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Seascape Gnome – KLM Digital Designs
