Open If You Dare!!

Sharing a Hallowe’en card I made today using these adorable images from 2CuteInk – Hallowe’en Animals Digital Stamp Set. Hallowe’en is one of my favourite times of the year when we get to see all of the little one’s all dressed up and having fun!

For the base card, I used Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. and cut it and scored it to be 8.25″ x 3.25″. I die cut Stampin’ Up – Magic in this Night Designer Series Paper using my Couture Creations – Go Power and Emboss and Whimsy Stamps – Slimline Pillows Die – WSD473. This was used for the main background. I used the same die-cut again for the inserts, only this time I used Doodlebug Design Inc. – Ghost Town paper and also die-cut the sentiment. I glued the main background to the base and used Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Dusty Concord to ink around all of the outside edges and around each of the shapes. For the sentiment, I used my Blending brushes and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Twisted Citron to colour it and ink around the edges. Each of the shapes were glued and placed into their corresponding places.

The images and sentiment were imported into Microsoft Word and then printed out onto onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my printer and HP Printer High Quality Grayscale for the setting. This prevents them from smearing when colouring. My Brother Scan and Cut was used to die cut the images leaving a small white border. The images were coloured in with Copic markers and then popped up using 3M double-sided tape onto the card.

Santa’s New Ride!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a Christmas card using Flyin’ High Santa – T093 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Here Comes Santa Claus – G272 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Santa’s giving his reindeer a rest this year as he checks out his new ride. LOL!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. I cut the background paper from Creative Memories – Glacier Paper Pack to be the same size and applied this directly to the base card using double-sided tape. I took a small scrap of Recollections – Black cardstock and ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker so that it would become a sticker. With my Cuttlebug and Joy Crafts – Lin & Len Design 1201/0027, I die cut the silhouette out of the black paper and then peeled off the backing and placed it directly to the bottom of the card. Stampendous – Snowflakes – Chunky White was sprinkled over top of the card and melted from the bottom of the card using my Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool.

With my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped both the image and the sentiment onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I cut the sentiment in half using my cutter and ran it through the Xyron Create a Sticker. I placed the sticker on top of some Recollections – Black cardstock and cut it again using my small cutting tool. I coloured in the image with Copic markers and then I fussy cut around it. With a Gelly Roll Sakura #8 Pen, I coloured in the candy cane swirls on the airplane and small circles. Once it was dry, I used Gelly Roll Stardust – Clear to go over the big yellow gumdrop, the swirls on the propeller, the candy cane swirls, small circles on the plane and the star on the tree to add some glitter. For Santa’s cuffs, coat trim and hat, I used Ranger – Emboss It Pen Clear and sprinkled on some WOW! Sparkling Snow Embossing Glitter. I heated this with my Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool and then repeated the process to give it more texture. For Santa’s pop pom, I applied a little bit of Cosmic Shimmer Fluffy Stuff and then heat embossed it with my Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool.

The Santa image and sentiment were both popped up onto the background using 3M double-sided tape to complete the card.

Moo-Chas Grass-ius!!

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Designs –  Udderly Fun from the new September release. This stamp also comes with 2 other fun sayings, “Have a moo-tiful day” and “Your Moo-velous!”

To make the card, I first imported the image and sentiment into Microsoft Word and printed them out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. Using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Die Layers, I die cut the image and then coloured it in with Copic markers leaving a thin white border from the dotted line. Using My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies, I die cut black cardstock to create a border for the image and put them together using double-sided tape. The larger dies from this same set were used to die cut the background from Doodle Bug Designs Inc. – Down on the Farm paper.

I die-cut the sentiment using Whimsy Stamps – Quick Strips Die Set. Then, I traced around the outer edge of the die with a coloured pencil onto black cardstock so that I could see the lines. I used my cutter and scissors to create a smaller outer border for the sentiment.

For the base card, I used Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock and cut it and scored it to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. Using double-sided tape, I adhered the patterned paper directly to the base and inked around the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot. The sentiment was added to the black cardstock die cut using double-sided tape. I added some 3M – 2 sided tape to the backs of the image and sentiment and they were both popped up on top of the base to complete the card.

Santa’s Coming!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Motorin’ By Santa – T094 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Coming To Town – G271 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Santa’s motoring through town to bring everyone some Christmas Cheer!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. I cut the background paper from Stampin’ Up – Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper to be the same size as the base and inked around the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean. I applied this directly to the base card using double-sided tape. AC – Black cardstock was cut to 5.5″ x .75″ and adhered to the bottom using double-sided tape. I die cut the village using my Cutttlebug, Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock and Village Edges dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs. I coloured in the homes and put some yellow cardstock behind for the windows. Then I took the little doors, coloured them in and inset them back into the die cuts. Once this was done, I added Gina K Designs – Glitz Glitter Gel – Iridescent to the hills and Stickles – Diamond to the roof tops.

With my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped both the image and the sentiment onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in the image with Copic markers and then I fussy cut around it. I added Stickles – Xmas Red to the Holly on the motorbike and Stickles – Diamond to the pop pom on Santa’s hat. Using my Cuttlebug, I die cut the sentiment using Whimsy Stamps – Quick Strips Die Set. I ran this through my Xyron Create a Sticker and placed it on some red cardstock. Then using my cutter, I cut around it leaving a slim border.

Once everything was dry, it was time to assemble the remainder of the card. I applied the houses directly to the base over top of the road. The Santa image and sentiment were both popped up onto the background using 3M double-sided tape.

Good Things To Come!!

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Designs – Jumping Gnome for the main image and Thumbs Up Gnome for the sentiment from the new September release.

To make the card, I first imported the image and sentiment into Microsoft Word and printed them out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I die-cut the image using Creative Expression Craft Dies by Sue Wilson – Noble Dies – Double Pierced Squares – Set B. The image was coloured in with Copic markers. I printed out the black and white image again onto regular photocopy paper and used by Brother Scan and Cut to die cut the image to use as a mask. I created the grass background and then attached the mask to the coloured image. A combination of Avery Elle – Pierced Clouds Die (D-05-01) which I created stencils from and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean and Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Tumbled Glass were used to create the clouds in the sky. I accidentally used too much ink for the one cloud, so I decided to cover it up by creating a few trees in the background.

For the base card, I used Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock and cut it and scored it to be 5.5″ x 5.5″.  Using double-sided tape, I attached the coloured image to some black cardstock and then used my trimmer to create a small border. I then added double-sided tape to the back of the black cardstock and adhered it directly to the base to finish off my card.

Echo Park Paper Co. – Farmhouse Kitchen paper was cut to the same size as the base and applied using double-sided tape. I fussy cut P13 – The Four Seasons – Autumn paper and applied it to the left corner using double-sided tape and glue. I thought the little squirrel was adorable, so from the same paper pack, I fussy cut around it too. The sentiment was fussy cut and inked around the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Carved Pumpkin. I then ran this through my Xyron Create a Sticker and attached it to Momenta – Cardstock. Once again, I fussy cut around it and applied Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Carved Pumpkin around the edges. The images and sentiment were then all popped up on the card using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. I cut 2 more strips from the Hot Buy – Recollections – Jewel Tones paper at 6″ x 1.5″ and 6″ x .75″ and applied them midway across the card using double-sided tape.

The image and sentiment were stamped using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I die-cut the sentiment using my Cuttlebug and Hero Arts – Infinity Dies – Rounded Rectangle and inked around the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mermaid Lagoon. This was popped up on the card using 3M double-sided tape. The image was die cut with Creative Expression Craft Dies by Sue Wilson – Noble Dies – Double Pierced Ovals and inked around the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mermaid Lagoon. Time For Warm Socks!!

I’m so happy to join the team of PPCF designers! Today is day 3 of our event for sponsoring CCDesigns on Passionate Paper Creations and Friends FB Group. The card I’m featuring for this event is the New Socks Clear Stamp Set.

To make the card, I began with the base 12″ x 6″ of AC White Cardstock. This was scored at 6″ x 9″ to create an easel card. Closed, the card measures 6″ x 6″. I cut Hammermill – Premium 100 Colour cardstock 6″ x 6″ and coloured in the flooring and base boards with Copic markers.  For the background wall, I cut Momenta – Cardstock to the size of 6″ x 5.5″. I created the large window using Paper Roses – Victorian Window die, my Cuttlebug and Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. paper. I traced around the die and then manually cut the background from Pebbles – Home for Christmas paper pad. I did the same procedure for cutting Judi-Kins Embossable Window Plastic. I glued the plastic window to the die cut and added Stickles – Diamond to the back of the window along the frames. Once the Stickles was dry, I added some trees from Make Special Cards XMas 2015 – Issue 3 to the back of the plastic window and glued the snowy background onto the plastic window and frame to complete the scene.  This was attached directly to the wall background using glue.

The characters were coloured with Copic markers and I added 3M double-sided tape to the back of the images after fussy cutting around them to pop them up on the page. Using the same paper that I used for the wall background, I cut to be 4″ x 1.75″ and popped up onto the bottom half of the base card using 3M double-sided tape (2 layers). The sentiment was cut to 3-13/16″ x 1-9/16″ and attached directly to the previous cut. To complete the card, the 6″ x 6″ scene was attached to the bottom half of the 3″ score previously done. The edges of the green paper were inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Rustic Wilderness.

Winter Fun!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Bearly Swooshin’ – T202 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Roundin’ Up – G190 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Winter was always a fun time for me growing up. We had so many outdoor rinks and played so many winter sports. I tried X-Country skiing, but in no way would ever attempt downhill skiing, I was dangerous enough on X-Cross Country skis. I wonder it that’s why everyone I ever went skiing with would only go once with me. LOL!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of AC Cardstock – White cut and scored to be 6″ x 6″. I cut the background paper from Recollections – Burgundy cardstock to the same size as the base and used double-side tape to apply it directly to it. Photo-Play – O Canada 2 – Ice Rink paper was cut to the size of 5.75″ x 5.75″ and inked around the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Rustic Wilderness. I applied this directly to burgundy background using double-sided tape. Using Hero Arts – Infinity Dies – Rounded Rectangle dies and my Cuttlebug, I die cut the following: Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, Recollections – Burgundy cardstock, AC – Green Cardstock and Recollections – White cardstock.

The image and sentiment were stamped using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured in the image with Copic markers and used a Gelly Roll Sakura #8 Pen to create the snow in the sky and whites of the bear’s eyes. Sakura Glaze – Black Pen was used for the eyes and nose. Just love the embossed look those 2 pens give to an image. Lastly, I added some Stickles – Diamond and some Clear Glitter glue for the snow. Once the glitter was all dry, I attached the finished image to the burgundy rounded rectangle with 3M VHB double-sided tape to pop it up. Then, I applied 3M double-sided tape onto the back of the larger rectangle to pop it up on the pictured background. The sentiment was inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Rustic Wilderness and I ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker and placed it on top of the small green rectangle. I added 3 layers of the 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the one side to pop it up and some glue and placed it on top of the popped-up coloured image. Lastly, to complete the card, I added some YNS Gumdrops.

Merry Little Christmas!!

Today, I’m sharing a Christmas card using Dreamerland Crafts stamps called The Most Wonderful Gift Of All – D18038 and for the sentiment Happiness Is Time Spent With A Good Friend – D20009. Do you remember playing with your train sets at Christmas time? I remember playing with my brothers and cousins sets. It was always so much fun watching the trains go around the tracks.

To make this card I used a base of 5.5″ x 4.25″ using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. For the background paper, I used Recollections – Burgundy cardstock cut to the same size as the base. The background layer was cut from Carta Bella – Santa’s Workshop paper, cut to the size of 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Rustic Wilderness was used to ink around the edges and it was attached to the burgundy background using double-sided tape. My Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Die was used to die-cut the Recollections – Burgundy cardstock for the background to go behind the coloured image. This was popped up onto the main background with 3M double-sided tape. Using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers, I die cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Cardstock. With my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the main image onto this die cut. I then taped the die cut back over the paper and coloured in the image using Copic markers. This allowed me to keep a thin white border around the coloured image. Stickles – Diamond was used to fill in the area on the inside of the tracks to represent a snowy base. I used Gelly Roll Sakura #8 Pen to add some snow to the little trees and some of the roof tops. Once the Stickles was all dry, I stamped the sentiment using Versamark ink. This was embossed using my Marvy Heat Embossing Tool and Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder. I added 3M double-sided tape to the back of the coloured image and popped it up.

Lastly, I placed some washi-tape onto white cardstock and trimmed it to have a thin white border. I ran this through my Xyron Create a Sticker so that it would lay flat and placed it onto some Recollections – Burgundy cardstock. Using my paper trimmer, I trimmed around the edges and them popped it up onto the background using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to finish off the card.

The sentiment was then stamped onto the background paper using Versamark Ink and heat embossed using my Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool and Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail.

The image was stamped using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured in the image with Copic markers.  I fussy cut around it and then inked the edges with a black marker.
