Meowy Christmas!

Hi Everyone! I’m participating in the 2020 Cat Lovers Blog Hop (#2020CatLoversHop) this year.

This is my third year joining the fun event. For six years, Her Peaceful Garden has been sponsoring The Cat Lover’s Blog Hop and it is a lot of fun.

Here is a second Christmas card that I have created for the hop using Deck The Halls – GSD438 (Gerda Steiner Designs) for the main image and sentiment. I have always had black cats, so that is why I mainly colour all cat images in shades of black. LOL!

To make my card, I started with a base of 5.5″ x 4.25″. I cut some Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card the same sized and stamped on the main image. Copic markers were used to colour the image in. Then I used some Clear – Wink of Stella to add a little bit of sparkle to both of the baubles. For the background, I started with Copic colours BG01 and BG000. Then I blended in Tim Holtz Distress Inks with a sponge dauber working from the inside to the outside. Once this was done, I stamped the sentiment using Versa Fine – Onyx Black and applied Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder which I heat set with Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool.

The frame was die cut using my Cuttlebug, Crafter’s Companion Luxury Cardstock – Red cardstock and die cut called Hero Arts – Fancy Dies – Christmas Lights Border Fancy. I added some liquid glue onto the back and placed it on top of my finished image. To complete the card, I attached the main image to the base card.

Card Recipe:

Stamp and Sentiment:  Deck The Halls – GSD438 (Gerda Steiner Designs)

Inks: Memento – Tuxedo Black, Versa Fine – Onyx Black, Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Tumbled Glass, Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Broken China, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean

Define Naughty!

This year, I created a Christmas card using  Callie Christmas Kitty – R096 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the main image and Define Naughty – FLL004 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. I just love this adorable stamp and it reminds me so much of how my cats used to love playing with the Christmas tree ornaments every year. We definitely learned our lesson after the first time, 2 of our little babes as kittens decided it would be fun to take down the entire tree. After that happened, all ornaments put on the tree were unbreakable and cat friendly. LOL!

To make my card, I started with a base of 6″ x 6″. I cut some Recollections – Cranberry cardstock to the same size and attached it directly to the base. For the main background, I used my Cuttlebug and Creative Expression Craft Dies by Sue Wilson – Noble Dies – Double Pierced Squares – Set B to die cut Recollections – Christmas Pets paper. I inked around all of the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Weathered Wood and applied it to the base using 2-sided tape.

For smaller background Recollections – Cranberry cardstock was used and Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card paper for the main image. I used My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers die cuts. Copic Markers were used for the main image. Once the image was coloured, I stamped the sentiment using Versa Fine – Onyx Black and applied Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder which I heat set with Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool.

To complete the card, I attached the main image to the red backing with 2-sided tape. Then I popped up the small background with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. I applied Diamond Stickles all around the frame of the image and added a little green bow and some pop-dots to finish off the card.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Callie Christmas Kitty – R096 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment Background: Define Naughty – FLL004 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Inks: Memento – Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Weathered Wood, Versa Fine – Onyx Black

Paper: Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, Recollections – Christmas Pets, Recollections – Cranberry cardstock

Die Cuts: My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies, My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers, Creative Expression Craft Dies by Sue Wilson – Noble Dies – Double Pierced Squares – Set B

Embossing Powder: Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder

Tools: MISTI – Most Incredible Stamping Tool, Cuttlebug, 3M VHB – 2 sided tape, Diamond Stickles, Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool

Images coloured with Copic Markers:

Have a Wicked Hallowe’en!!

Today I’m sharing a CAS card I made using  Three Witches (KLM Digital Designs) image from the October release. These adorable 3 little witches come with 3 different sentiments. One of them, I have used here. The others are “What’s Up Witches” and “Just Fab-boo-lous”. Have a fantastic Hallowe’en everyone and remember to stay safe.

I printed out the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around the image and coloured it in with Copic markers.  The sentiment was printed out on orange cardstock. I fussy cut around the sentiment and then ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker and attached it to some white paper. Then, I fussy cut around it again.

The base card is 6″ x 6″ American Crafts White paper. Using Echo Park – I Love Halloween paper, I cut it to 5-7/8th” x 5-7/8th” to give it a thin white border. I adhered it to the base using some glue so that I could move it into place easier. The coloured image and sentiment were both attached using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

Elf Christmas

It’s Wednesday, and this week I’m sharing a Christmas card featuring Munchin Melvin Elf – M023 from (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) who just isn’t able to resist the delicious Gingerbread cookie, paired with the sentiment Have Your Elf – H094 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps).

I remember my mom baking little Gingerbread men every year when we were little and she even let us decorate some on our own. It was always so much fun! Then it was even more fun when we were aloud to eat them. Yum! Yum!

To create the card this week, I stamped the main image and then coloured it in with Copic Markers. I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around the image leaving a small white border. For the sentiment, I stamped it out using Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and then embossed it using Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder. This was heat set using Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. Next, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Cracked Pistachio ink was used to colour the white paper to match the edging around the base of the card.

For the base card I started out with white cardstock folded in half to create a 6″ x 6″ card. The elf background from Doodlebug – Christmas Magic was cut to the same size as the base and adhered to it using double-sided tape. For the inside paper, Doodlebug – Christmas Magic paper was used again. Using my Cuttlebug and Creative Expressions Festive Collection – Gingerbread Man die I cut the centre piece out. I used the same die to cut out the red border as well. Then I die cut one more piece using just the large border for the white glitter background. Hot Buy Craft Smart – Holiday Glitz Glitter Paper was chosen to do this with.

To assemble the remainder of the card. I first taped the centre piece to the main red piece at the back. This was then glued to the white glitter background. The frame, main image and sentiment were added using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. To complete the card, I used some embellishments from Dress It Up – Holiday Collection and Carta Bella – Santa’s Workshop.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Munchin Melvin Elf – M023 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Three Kings Bringing Joy

It’s Wednesday, and this week I’m sharing a Christmas card featuring the adorable image Three Kings – T201 from (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) with the sentiment Joy To The World – GLL012 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps).  Have you started your Christmas cards yet?

To create the card this week, I stamped the main image and then coloured it in with Copic Markers. I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around the image and then used a black marker to go around all of the edges. For the sentiment, I stamped it out and then used My Creative Time: Fun Vertical Greetings to die cut it.

For the base card I used Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. to create my background at 5.5″ x 4.25″ and also the base card.  I used various Tim Holtz inks listed below to create the night sky and earth at the bottom. After the basic blending was done, I layered Kraftin’ Kimmie – Twinkle Little Stars stencil over top of the base and applied Stampin Up – Whisper White using a sponge dauber. I removed the stencil and cleaned it off. Then placed it on top again. This time, I used a sponge dauber and FolkArt – Extreme Glitter Acrylic Paint to give the stars some sparkle. Note: A little dab of this paint goes a long way. Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to help speed up the drying process.

Once the paint was all dry, the card was ready to be assembled. I cropped the background to 5.25″ x 4″ and placed it directly onto the base. Then the main image and sentiment were added using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

The others are “2020 Sucks”, “Bats About You” and “Don’t Let These Times Drain You”. I love this little gnome and with these fun sentiments, there are so many different cards that you can make.

I printed out the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around the image and coloured it in with Copic markers.  I added some Clear – Wink of Stella to the stars, moon and coloured squares on his hat and gown. Then I cut the background to 5.25″ x 4″ and inked around all of the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot. I also used the same ink to go around the edges of the oval.

To assemble the card, I began with an orange card base of 5.5″ x 4.25″ by using a pre-cut card by The Paper Studio – Primary Base Colours. The edges were all inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot. The background was adhered to the base using double-sided tape. I thought it would be fun to create this card as an accordian card. To achieve this, I used Elizabeth Craft Designs – Accordian Oval Card dies. I die cut several patterned papers and attached them to the AC Cardstock – Autumn base card for extra support. All of the edges were inked with Kraftin’ Kimmie – Crisp Crimson for the centre ovals, Kraftin’ Kimmie – Tempting Tangerine for everything else.

The images were stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and then coloured in with copic markers. Fragrant Garden

Today, I’m featuring a card I made using Kit and Clowder September 2020 – Markers – Fragrant Garden class from Kit and Clowder.  I love these monthly classes by Alyce Keegan. She has taught me so much about colouring over the past few years. Her lessons are fantastic as she breaks down everything into small chapters and they are easy to follow. Here is my finished image from the September class. The image was coloured in with Copic markers.

I mounted it onto a white base card from of 5.5″ x 4.25″ with double-sided tape.

Hope you like it and have a great week!

Little Nutty Buddy

It’s Wednesday, and this week I’m sharing a card featuring Little Nutty Buddy – M150 from (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) with the sweet sentiment Happy Fall Y’all – G086 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps). My husband and I went on a wonderful nature walk this past weekend through the forest to see to falls. It was very beautiful seeing the fall colours and the little squirrels running around gathering acorns for their winter supply of food, just like little Nutty Buddy.

To create the card this week, I began with base card 5.25″ x 4.25″ from The Paper Studio – Primary Base Colours. I inked around all of the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Ground Espresso. The scalloped circles were die cut using my Cuttlebug and Spellbinders Nestabilities – Petite Scalloped Circles – Large. For the larger circle – AC Cardstock – Autumn was used and then inked around with the same ink used on the base card. The background acorn paper was die cut using My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies. Both of the background papers are from Your Next Stamp – Fabulous Fall collection. I inked around the patterned die cuts with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Spiced Marmalade.

The sentiment was stamped with Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and then Nellie Snellin Die – MFD 007 was used to cut it out. I then cut the border part of the die cut off and just left the oval centre. This was inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Spiced Marmalade. 2 Kraftin’ Kimmie – Holiday Dots were added on both sides.

I stamped the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. It was coloured in with Copic Markers. Then I put it through my Brother Scan and Cut to create the thin white border around the image.

To assemble the card, I attached the main background and large scalloped circle directly to the base using 2-sided tape. The sentiment, smaller scalloped circle and image were popped up with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Little Nutty Buddy – M150 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Reading Away The Afternoon!

Today, I’m featuring a CAS card I made using Reading Away The Afternoon – D19043  from Dreamerland Crafts.  These 2 little friends are enjoying a wonderful day just relaxing and sharing time together! There’s nothing like holding a real book in your hands. I know that today there a lot of e-books, but I’m old fashioned and still love to sit back and relax and hold onto a real book. How about yourself? Do you prefer a real book or e-books?

To make this card I used a white base card from “Studio g” of 5″ x 5″. The sentiment was stamped directly to the base using my MISTI, Versa Fine – Onyx Black and Kraftin’ Kimmie – Reading Lexi stamp. The sentiment was then embossed with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder and Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat set the embossing powder.

The background and image were die cut using my Cuttlebug and Essentials by Tattered Lace Dies – Easel Slider dies. I adhered the larger die cut directly to the base using double-sided tape.

I stamped the image onto the smaller die-cut and then stamped it again on some Post-it note to create a mask. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean was used along with stencils I created from Avery Elle – Pierced Cloud Die. Then the grass was added in. To create texture on the grass, I used some rubbing alcohol and a piece of old rag with some ridges on it.

Once the background was completed, I coloured in the main image with Copic markers. The grass had also been coloured in with the same markers. The image was then popped up onto the base using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

To make this card, I started with a white card base of 5.5″ x 4.25″. I cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card to the same size and then used my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black Ink to stamp all of the images. The images were all coloured in with Copic markers.

The sentiment was first stamped with Kraftin’ Kimmie – Mossy Meadows Ink using my MISTI and then again with VersaMark ink. I added some Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder and heat embossed the powder with Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. I added a border to the top and bottom of the card using PhotoPlay – Mad 4 Plaid Fall paper, cut at 5.5″ x .5″ each. I adhered the finished image to the base using double-sided tape. To finish off the card, I added in Kraftin’ Kimmie – Pastel Dots.

Pumpkin Kisses!!

Today I’m sharing  Pumpkin Girl (KLM Digital Designs) image from the October release. This little lady has her pumpkin all picked out for Thanksgiving. Now she can make some pumpkin pies and then carve out the pumpkin for Hallowe’en. Here in Canada, we celebrate our Thanksgiving this weekend. So Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Hope you have a wonderful holiday!

I printed out the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around the image and then fussy cut it in a few places. It was then coloured in with Copic markers. The sentiment was printed out on plain white cardstock and then I fussy cut around it, in order to spread it out. Then I ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker and attached it to some black cardstock. Then I fussy cut around it again.

The backgrounds were die cut with my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies Layers. The printed background was then inked around all of the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Carved Pumpkin.

To assemble the card, I began with a white card base of 5.5″ x 4.25″. The 2 background pieces were adhered to the base using double-sided tape. The image and sentiment were both popped up using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. Finally, some Kraftin’ Kimmie – Krafty Dots were added as embellishments.

Musical Penguin Parade

Hi There! Today I’d like to share a Christmas Card I made using Top Hat Penguin – RLF005 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps), Trumpet Penguin – RLF006 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) and Flute Penguin – RLF002 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps). Musical Wishes – GLL014 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) was chosen for the sentiment. I just love these adorable penguins and couldn’t resist putting them all together to create a musical penguin parade. LOL!

To make my card this week, I used Recollections – White cardstock for the base card which is 7.25″ x 7″. I scored the paper at 3.5″ to create the dimensions of 7.25″ x 3.5″. The red background was cut to the same size using Crafter’s Companion Luxury Cardstock – Red. The musical notes layer was cut from Craftsmart – Classic Village at 7″ x 3.25″. The snowy background was die cut to the same size in length using Recollections – Christmas Inkjet Printable Glitter Paper. I used My Creative Time – Tall Frame Dies, My Creative Time – Tall Frame Layers in order to achieve this. Once the snowy background paper was die cut, I tore along it in order to create the illusion of white snow drifts along the top of the snow. I adhered all of the layers with double-sided tape. Using my large Misti, I stamped the sentiment using Versa Fine – Onyx Black and embossed it with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder. Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat set the embossing powder.

I stamped all of the images onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my Misti and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. The images were then all coloured in with Copic markers and die cut using my Brother Scan and Cut machine. Then I ran all of the images through my Xyron Creative Station to make them all stickers. I placed them on the card and then used Stickles – Diamond to create some snow drifts. Clear – Wink of Stella was added to the Candy Cane to make it sparkle and also to all of the leaves and holly on the hats.

To complete the card, I edged all around the scene with Stickles – Sea Glass.

Happy Fall Y’All

It’s Wednesday, and this week I’m sharing a card featuring Fall Joy – T041 from (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) with the sweet sentiment Happy Fall Y’All – G290 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps). These racoons are having a blast playing in the leaves. We used to do that too when we were little. So much fun. I love seeing all of the beautiful fall colours. Such a wonderful time of the year.

To create the card this week, I stamped the main image and then coloured it in with Copic Markers. Using My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies, My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layer Dies and my Cutttlebug, I die cut the main image and the background layers.

For the base card 5.25″ x 4.25″, I used The Paper Studio – Primary Base Colours. The backing behind the main images is from AC Cardstock – Autumn. I attached the main image to this piece using double-sided tape. The plaid paper is from PhotoPlay – Gnome for the Holidays Thanksgiving. Once this background paper was die-cut, all of the edges were inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Carved Pumpkin. This was then applied directly to the base with double-sided tape.

To complete the assembly, I added 3M VHB – 2 sided tape on the back of the first layers and popped them up onto the bottom 2 layers. The sentiment was stamped with Memento – Tuxedo Black in and I fussy cut around it. I ran this through my Xyron Create a Sticker and then layered it onto some Orange cardstock. Then I fussy cut around it again and ran it through my Xyron as well. Then I inked around the edges with the same Tim Holtz ink I used earlier. I placed it over the main image and used 2 very small pieces of 3M VHB – 2 sided tape where it went over the edges of the main image.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Fall Joy – T041 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment: Happy Fall Y’All – G290 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sending Warm Hugs

Sharing a card I made today for a challenge using Super Cool Pals  from Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps. I really love anything Christmas and winter related and who couldn’t resist this adorable snowman and little fox?

To make my card, I started out by stamping the image using my MISTI and Memento Tuxedo Black ink onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured the image with Copic markers and then fussy cut around it. I die cut the background paper using My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies. It’s from Stampin Up’, but I received it in a Mystery Box, so I’m not sure what paper pack it comes from. Then I tore up some Recollections – Christmas Inkjet Printable Glitter Paper and taped it to the bottom of the panel.

The snowflake was die cut using Hot Buy Craft Smart – Holiday Glitz Glitter Paper 12″ x 12″ and Tim Holtz – Sizzix Thinlets – Paper Snow Flakes. I ran the paper and my finished coloured image through my Xyron Creative Station and also the Holiday Glitz paper was put through it as well before I die cut it. This allowed me to make stickers out of both items. For the sentiment, I used my MISTI, Versa Fine – Onyx Black and then embossed it with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder. This was then heat embossed with my Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. Once this was done, I die-cut the sentiment with Lifestyle Crafts Cutting Dies – Nesting Circles and edged all around it with Kraftin’ Kimmie – Lovely Lagoon Ink. I also edged all around the snowy background with the same ink.

For the assembly, I started out using the base from Recollections -Christmas Cards and Envelopes set at 5.5″ x 4.25″. Using double-sided tape, I  adhered the snowy background to the base. Then I added my main image and snowflake. The sentiment was popped up using some 3M VHB – 2 sided tape and Stickles – Diamond glitter was added to parts of the snow to finish the card off.

Dreams Take Flight!!

Today, I’m featuring a card I made using Embrace Your Dream – D19039  from Dreamerland Crafts. My dad always dreamed of flying and he would build all kinds of model airplanes. Then one day he decided to build a real plane with the assistance of his brother and a friend. It took them a long time, but in the end it was a beautiful plane and the best part was that we were all taken for rides in it. It’s an experience we will never forget. So just as my dad followed his dreams, he taught us all to follow our dreams as well. If you dream about something long enough, eventually it will become a reality for you. So never be afraid to follow your dreams.

To make this card I used a white base card of 4.25″ x 5.5″. The background was die cut using My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Die Layers – MCT-D274 and my Cuttlebug. The paper is from Doodlebug Design Inc. – I Love Travel. Once die cut, the edges were inked around using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean. I also used this colour to do the clouds in the sky on the image. I adhered the background to the base using glue so that I could move it around to fit better.

The sentiment was stamped using my MISTI, VersaMark ink and Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail and the stamp from Kraftin’ Kimmie – Sky’s The Limit. The powder was then heat embossed with Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. It was die cut using My Creative Time – Sentiment Label Dies.

The image was die cut using My Creative Time – Bunch of Fun Circle Dies from Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The circle behind the main image was die cut with My Creative Time – More Stitched Circles MCT-D136 from black cardstock. I coloured in the entire image with Copic markers and then created a mask. I added in the clouds and used a small piece of old rag and some rubbing alcohol to create some texture in the grass.

To assemble the card, I ran the main image through Xyron Creative Station to make like a sticker and so that it would lay completely flat on the black circle. 3M VHB – 2 sided tape was used to pop up the main image and sentiment to complete the card.

Card Recipe:

Sentiment: Kraftin’ Kimmie – Sky’s The Limit
