Sweet Note of Thanks!

Today I’m sharing a Thank-you card using Your Next StampMusic Bunny – CYNS262. I was recently on a cruise and we met some new wonderful couples that sat at the tables next to ours and we exchanged information. Unknown to us until the final evening, the couple that sat directly beside us was Steven Gilliland and his wonderful wife Diane. Steven happens to be a very well known acclaimed author and public speaker. My husband and I were so happy when Steven sent us a few of his books, “Making a Difference” and a “Cherry On Top”. Steven had personally autographed them to us as well. What a kind and awesome gesture and it was very much appreciated. We are currently reading his books and just love them. As a thank you for their kind generosity, I sent them this card from my husband and I.

To create the card, I began with a card base of 5.5″ x 5.5″ using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. I cut Recollections – Matte Gold Foil cardstock to be the same size as the base card and applied double-sided tape to it. This was adhered directly to the base card. Next, I cut a piece of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock to the size of 5.25″ x 5.25″. I sprayed some water onto the paper and then using Kraftin’ Kimmie – Musical Melodies stencil I placed it on top of the paper and ran it through my Cricut Die Cutting machine to emboss the paper. Once the paper was dry, I placed the stencil over top of the paper again and this time, using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot and a blending brush, I coloured in the musical notes. I also inked around the edges with the same ink and a mini dauber.

Using my Cuttlebug and PinkFresh Studio – Essentials – Blanket Stitched Square 4″ dies, I die cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The main image was stamped onto this die cut using Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI. I coloured in the image and created my own background. Once this was completed, I put the image back into my MISTI and stamped the sentiment using Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink. Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder was applied over top of the ink and then heat embossed with a Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. The little notes were added with Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and a miniature stamping block. I just chose several notes and stamped them randomly around the image. I felt like the image was still missing something, so I decided to take my Copic black marker (100) and using the lines from the die cut as a guide, coloured in every second stripe. I thought this made it look like a piano keyboard. Lastly, My Creative Time – Stitched Squares Inside and Out 4.5″ were used to die cut Recollections – Matte Gold Foil cardstock.

The card was now ready to assemble. I added U-Line double-sided pop-up tape to the back of the music square, gold square and image. Each of them were popped onto each other and centred onto the base card.

You’re How Old??

Sharing a CAS birthday card that I made today using KLM Digital DesignThinking Gnome from the new November 2022 release. This image comes with 2 other sentiments as well, “Just thinking of you” and “Thinking of you makes my day”. This little gnome is thinking really hard to figure out how old you are this year! LOL!

To make my card this week, I started with a 5.5″ x 4.25″ card base using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. Echo Park – Happy Birthday paper was cut to the same size and adhered directly to the base using double-sided tape! The image and sentiment were imported into Microsoft Word and printed out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in the image and then fussy cut around it. I ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker and placed it onto a small piece of Recollections – Black cardstock and fussy cut around it again. Using a Cuttlebug and dies from Sizzix Framelits – Banner Dies, I die cut the sentiment and a larger banner using Echo Park – Happy Birthday paper. With a blender brush, I inked over the sentiment die cut to give it a shade of green colour. With Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Pine Needles and a finger dauber, I inked around the 2 banners and all around the card. The larger banner was adhered directly to the card using liquid glue. The image and sentiment were both popped up onto the card using U-Line double-sided tape. YNS Gumdrops – Tropical Paradise were added to the card to finish it off.

Paw-sitively Good!

It’s day 5 of the 2022 Cat Lovers Hop and today I’m sharing a Christmas card I made using Your Next Stamp –  Meowy Christmas – CYNS681. Having so much fun with this amazing hop and look forward to it every year.

I created a 5.5″ x 4.25″ card base using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. I cut the background to be the same size using My Favourite Things – Pawsome Prints paper and adhered it directly to the base using double-sided tape. Using my Cuttlebug, Creative Expressions – Festive Collection – Bold Snowflake Frame dies and Recollections – Blue Hues Shimmer Cardstock, I cut out the large snowflake and frame. Using some scrap dark blue paper, I die cut the large outline. I tore along the top of a small piece of Recollections – Christmas Inkjet Printable Glitter Paper and then die cut it with the larger cirlce die from the same die set. Using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Faded Jeans and a finger dauber, the edges were inked all around the base card. With liquid glue, I attached the large snowflake to the background border. I then attached the snow piece that I had cut previously with liquid glue as well. Then, using a Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen, I coloured in some snow in the sky.

Using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The image was coloured in with Copic markers and then I fussy cut around it. I added some U-Line double-sided tape to the image and popped it up into centre of the circle. The shadow was added using B52. The sentiments were both stamped onto the dark blue paper with VersaMark ink and then embossed with Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail. I cut out the larger sentiment with my cutter and the smaller one using my Cuttlebug and Gina K Designs – Sentiment Strips. I attached U-line double sided tape the sentiments and coloured image frame and popped up everything onto the card base.

U-Line double-sided tape was applied to the backs of three Creative Impressions – Brads – Snowflake – Winter with a double layer. They were all popped up onto the card and then YNS Gumdrops – Firefly Magic Sparkly Gumdrops were applied to the centres to finish the card off.

Birthday Party Girl!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a birthday card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Party Girl – TDG034 for the image and Open Happy Birthday – G039 for the sentiment. This little girl loves to dance and celebrate! She is ready for a really nice party to share her birthday with all of her friends.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. I cut out the background to the same size using Bubbly Girls – Party – Yvonne Creations cardstock. This was applied directly to base card with double-sided tape. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salvaged Patina was used to ink around all of the edges of the card.

The image and sentiment were both stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and coloured in with Copic Markers. Using my scissors, I fussy cut around both the image and sentiment. For the sentiment, I used a black marker to go around the edges to hide the white. Using Copic markers, I tried to match the background as best as I could for the coloured image to blend in. I applied U-Line double-sided tape to all of the pieces and popped them up onto the base card. Lastly, to finish it off, I added in 3 gumdrops from YNS Gumdrops – Pretty Peacock Matte Gumdrops.

Mermaid and Friends!!

Today, I’m sharing a card that I made using Mermaids & Friends Fran’s Clear Stamps & Cutting Dies Stampendous Set – CSD18.

To make this card I used a base of 5.5″ x 4.25″ using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. I cut a piece of coral cardstock to the size of 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″ and adhered it directly to the base using double-sided tape. I created my own background paper using Crayola chalk, water and American Crafts Vicki Boutin Mixed Media Foundations Paper cut to the size of 5.25″ x 4″. Once the paper was dry, I embossed the whole background with Emboss It – Clear ink and then added Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder. I heat embossed this with my Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. I did this same technique with the paper that I used to cut out coral with my Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine and Elizabeth Craft Designs – Seaweed dies. For the main background, I added some sand to the bottom using Seth Apter – Baked Texture – Dirty Sand and my Ranger HEAT IT Craft Tool. This process takes a little longer, but it allows you to just sprinkle the embossing powder on top and then heat from the bottom first and then on top. I think this gave it a more natural look. Using U-Line double-sided tape, I added the chalk embossed background to the base card.

The images were stamped using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured in the images using copic markers. For the pearl, I coloured it in using Cosmic Shimmer Opal Blaze Touch Tip – Turquoise Peach and then embossed it with Ranger – Holographic Embossing Powder and heat set it with Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. Clear – Wink of Stella was added over top of the bikini top and the fin to make them glitter. Unfortunately, you can’t see that in this photo. Once the images were coloured, I die cut the turtle and the mermaid using the dies that came with the stamp using my Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine.

My card was now ready to assemble. I added U-Line double-sided tape to the backs of the 2 images and all of the buttons. I removed the backs from the buttons earlier. I popped each of the characters and added a second layer of tape to the mermaid and then popped it up on the card as well. To finish it off, I added in some bubbles using Your Next Stamp Gumdrops – Crystal Clear And Sparkle Gumdrops. The crown was coloured in with Pental Sunburst Metalic Med Gel Pen – Gold.

Coffee!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Drive Thru – TLF026 for the image and Nothing Begins – FLL021 for the sentiment. I don’t drink coffee, but I know a lot of people who can’t start the day without one! Are you a coffee drinker or a tea drinker like me?

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. To create my background, I started with Creative Memories – Hot Fudge paper cut to the same size as the base card. I adhered this directly to the base. From the same paper, I also made several more cuts. 5.5″ x 2-5/8″, 5.5″ x 1-1/16th” and using my Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers, I die cut a rectangle the size of 4.75″ x 3.5″. With multiple papers from Your Next Stamp – The Perfect Blend, I cut them to the sizes of 5.5″ x 4-1/8″, 5.5″ x 2.5″ and 5.5″ x 7/8″. I inked around all of the edges of the patterned papers with Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Ground Espresso.

Using double-sided tape, I layered the papers and centered them onto the card in the following order. Coffee beans, Fudge cardstock, coffee stains, Fudge cardstock and lastly the coffee cups. Once again, I inked around all of the outside edges with Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Ground Espresso ink. I added U-Line double-sided tape to the large Fudge cardstock rectangle with an additional smaller layer on the top and bottom and popped it up in the centre of the card.

Using my Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers once again, I die cut a rectangle out of Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card to the size of 4.25″ x 3″. The image and sentiment were both stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and the image was coloured in with Copic Markers. I added in a lot of extra bricks to the image to create a solid brick wall. Using my Empress machine again and My Creative Time – Little Gift Tags, I die cut the sentiment. Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Ground Espresso was used to ink around the edges. I added some U-Line double-sided tape to the back of it and popped it up onto the coloured image. Lastly to finish off the card, I added a little pop dot from Gina Marie Designs.
