Thank you KLM Designs for sponsoring us. Today, I’m sharing a card I made using KLM Designs –  Owl and Sentiments. I really love your adorable images and working with them.

The base was created with AC Cardstock – White cut and folded to the size of 6″ x 6″. I cut the background paper from My Mind’s Eye – Hootenanny designer paper to be the same size as the background and applied it to the base using double-sided tape. From the same paper pack, I cut a piece of the designer paper to the size of 6″ x 1″ and glued this on top of the background at the bottom of the card. I cut a piece of Recollections – Brown cardstock to the size of 6″ x 5/8″ and applied that above the wording on the bottom of the card. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Rusty Hinge was used to ink around all of the edges of the card.

The image and sentiment were both imported into Microsoft Word and printed out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The image was coloured in with Copic markers and then I fussy cut around it and the sentiment. I applied Sakura Glaze – Black to the eyes and Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen for the highlights. With a FolkArt 1837 – Perfect Liner #1 and Copic Opaque White I added in some white onto the wings. I ran the image through my Xyron Creative Station and the sentiment through my Xyron Create a Sticker and applied them to Recollections – Brown cardstock and Recollections – Black cardstock. Then I fussy cut around the 2 again. I popped them up onto the card using U-Line double-sided tape to complete the card.

Hello Winter!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a Christmas CAS card using Penguin Tag – SDG003 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Hello Winter – FDG007 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Winter is now here and these little penguins couldn’t wait to start enjoying it.

I’d like to take this time to also wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″.  I cut the background paper from Craft Consortium – Polar Playtime to be the same and attached it directly to the base. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Picked Raspberry was used to ink around the outside of the card. Using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the image and sentiment onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock. I coloured in the image with Copic markers and the little berries with a Pental Sunburst Metalic Med Gel Pen – Gold. I used Sakura Glaze – Black and Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen was used for the eyes and little dots on the hat.) Clear – Wink of Stella was applied over top of the candy canes and candy cane border. Once this was all complete, I fussy cut around the image and then coloured in around it with Copic B01. I ran the image through my Xyron Creative Station and attached it to some Hot Pink cardstock. Once again, I fussy cut around the image and then popped it up on to the card using U-Line double-sided tape. Lastly, Gelly Roll Sparkle Pen was applied to the little blue snowflakes and dots on the background paper to finish off the card.

I cut the background paper to be the same size as the background using Echo Park – It’s Your Birthday paper and glued it to the front of the base card. Grocery Gnomes!!

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Design –  Grocery Gnome – Boy and Grocery Gnome – Girl from the new December release. I love these images as they are great for creating a card for our unspoken heroes who serve us everyday at the grocery stores.

I created the base using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. I cut the paper to the size of 5.5″ x 8.5″. Then I scored each side at 2-1/8″ each and folded them towards the centre. I die cut Photo-Play Autumn Greetings – Fruit Baskets paper using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies. This die cuts the paper to exactly 5.5″ x 4.25″. I then cut this piece into 2 using my cutter to create 2 equal pieces of 2-1/8″. Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Peeled Paint was used to ink around the edges of the 2 pieces. I applied these directly to the 2 front panels using liquid glue. I wanted to be able to keep the fronts closed, so I used my Cuttlebug and Pink Fresh Dies – Slim Stripes to die cut some green cardstock. I applied 1 longer piece to the left side at the top, 1 long piece to the bottom on the right side using liquid glue. Then I added a stripe on the remaining sides top and bottom with liquid glue to the length of 2-1/8″. On the inside of the card, I applied some 1/8″ tape to a small piece of the green stripes, cut at .5″ x .5″. This allows the longer flaps to slide into them to keep the card closed.

I imported the images and sentiment into Microsoft Word and printed them out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The images were coloured in with Copic markers and then fussy cut with scissors. U-Line double sided tape was applied to the backs of the images and they were popped up onto the card. Finally to finish it off, I applied small embellishments from Dress My Craft – Fruit Salad Slices with liquid glue across the top of the card.

The sentiment was die cut using My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies and my Cuttlebug. Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Peeled Paint was used to ink around the edges and double-sided tape was used to adhere it to the inside of the card.

Card Recipe:

Stamp and Sentiment: Grocery Gnome – Boy – KLM Digital Designs, Grocery Gnome – Girl – KLM Digital Designs

Inks: HP Printer Grayscale, Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Peeled Paint

Paper: Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb., Photo-Play Autumn Greetings – Fruit Baskets (12″ x 12″), Green Cardstock

Die Cuts: My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies, Pink Fresh Dies – Slim Stripes

Miscellaneous: U-Line – 2 sided tape, Dress My Craft – Fruit Salad Slices, Cuttlebug

THANK YOU SO MUCH Gerda Steiner for giving me the opportunity to win this super adorable stamp from playing your amazing Advent Calendar this year. This was one of the prizes for door #7. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Chipped Sapphire was used to ink around all of the edges of the card. The image was imported into Microsoft Word and printed out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. Using my Cuttlebug and dies from Creative Expressions Craft Dies by Sue Wilson – Festive Collection – Holly Lattice Frame, I die cut the printed image and also golden background frame using Crafter’s Companion – Luxury Cardstock – Gold paper.

I coloured in the image with Copic markers and also added in the tree trunk. Using a Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen, I added snow to the sky, along the branches of the tree and on top of the pine cones. Cosmic Shimmer Fluffy Stuff combined with WOW! Embossing Glitter – White Puff Twinkle were added to the hat and pompom and then heated with a Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool to make it puff up. U-Line double-sided tape was applied to backs of the image and the gold die cut and both were popped up onto the background. Finally, I added some Stickles – Diamond over top of the snow I created on the tree trunk and pine cones.

For the sentiment, I used a Recollections 1″ circle punch to cut some green cardstock and then using my MISTI, I stamped the sentiment from Penguin Party – Lawn Fawn with VersaFine ink. I added Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail and heat embossed it with my Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. I inked around the edges of the circle with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Pine Needles. This was popped up with U-Line double-sided tape and I added the embellishment from Recollections – Snowflake Specialty Polyester Glitter. To create the pine cone and pine needles, I used some scraps of brown and green paper and using my Cuttlebug, I die cut the shapes using Sizzix – Tim Holtz – Festive Greens 662425. I used glue to adhere the pieces together and then popped up the completed piece onto the card using U-Line double sided tape.

Dress Up The Christmas Tree!!

Today, I’m sharing a card using Dreamerland Crafts stamps called Mix and Match Clear Stamps – DCS19090.  These little woodland creatures are enjoying their new tree on a snowy evening. Do you have an outdoor Christmas tree?

To make this card I used a base of 5.5″ x 4.25″ using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. Using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies, I die-cut Crafter’s Companion – Luxury Cardstock – Gold to the size of 5.5″ x 4.25″ and adhered it to the base using double-sided tape. Your Next Die – Stiched Frame Snowfall Hill was used to die cut Creative Memories – Glacier Designer Paper Pack for the snow frame and glued to the base background. With My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies, I also die cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock to the size of 4.5″ x 3.25″.

I stamped the image using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink onto the Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock. I coloured in the image with Copic Markers. The sentiment was added using Versamark and Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail. This was heated up with a Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. The background snow was applied with a Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen. Crayola – Yellow Glitter Glue was applied to the glow around the star of the tree and Cosmic Shimmer Fluffy Stuff combined with WOW! Sparkling Snow Embossing Glitter was used to create the snow on the bottom. Stickles – Diamond was applied between the snow drifts to create a little more glitter. Nuvo Crystal Drops – Dandelion Yellow, Red Berry and Caribbean Ocean were applied to the tree for decorations. Once everything was dry, I applied U-Line double-sided tap to the back of the coloured image and applied it to the base to complete the card.

Sparkle All The Way!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a Christmas card using Snowbear Friends – TDG009 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Sparkle – FDG011 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. This month we are celebrating our new Woodland Winter Release at High Hopes Stamps.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. I die cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card with my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers. With my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the image onto the die cut and the sentiment onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured the image in with Copic markers and added in the snow in the sky with Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen. I added in the tree decorations using a combination of Nuvo Crystal Drops: Red Berry, Dandelion Yellow and Carribean Dream. Pental Sunburst Metalic Med Gel Pen – Silver and Pental Sunburst Metalic Med Gel Pen – Gold were used to create stripes and colour in circles on the presents. Cosmic Shimmer Fluffy Stuff was applied to the brim of their hats and pom-poms and heat embossed with my Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. A little bit of Stickles – Diamond was added onto top of the brims and pompoms to make them sparkly.  I added in the snow on the bottom using a spatula and Nuvo Glimmer Paste – Moonstone and let it dry. Once it was dry, I added in some Cosmic Shimmer Fluffy Stuff to give the snow a little more texture. This too, was heat embossed with my Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. I adhered the image to the base card using double-sided tape and Stickles – Diamond was added to the top and side of the sign to complete the card.
