Hi Everyone! I’m sharing the card that I made this year, for the year of the Rat, for all of my Chinese friends and fellow co-workers. I couldn’t resist this adorable little mouse from Mouse Bites (Jaded Blossom). For me it is a very special year, since I myself am a Metal Rat! YAY! I wish for everyone to have a healthy, prosperous and very happy year ahead!
Just showing a few here. I made 12 of them in total. Decided to keep the design for this card very simple this year. There is also a little rat on the inside of the card as well. I used Google Translate to enter my sentiments on the inside.
My friends tell me that gold and red are very important in the Chinese culture. So this year, I used Red – Recollections Christmas cards for my base and then multiple stamps from Jaded Blossom for the main images and sentiments. Using my MISTI to get a nice clean image, I stamped the images with VersaMark and then embossed with Ranger Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder – Gold. Then I used a Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool to heat up the embossing powder. The final result is what you see above.
Card Recipe:
Stamp: Mouse Bites (Jaded Blossom)
Sentiments: Chinese New Year (Jaded Blossom) – Retired Stamp
Paper: Recollections – Christmas Cards and Envelopes Set
Ink: VersaMark
Embossing Powder: Ranger – Super Fine Detail – Gold
Tools: MISTI – Most Incredible Stamping Tool, Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool
Hope you like it and have a great year!
