Chinese New Year 2018 – Year of the Dog

Hi There,

Sharing a card that I made for all of my Chinese friends and co-workers this year. Unfortunately, the camera didn’t co-operate with me very well for taking the pictures of the card!!! I can see myself in the reflection!!! LOL!

For the front I used my Cricut Explore and Cricut Design Space to cut out the images for the sentiments. Compliments of CraftDirect free SVG file.

The dog is from Cricut Cartridge – A Quilted Christmas. I just trimmed off the ball in Cricut Design Space using the Slice tool before executing the actual cut using my Cricut Explore.

The lanterns were done using Craftin Desert Divas – Dragon Festival clear stamps, Versa Mark ink and Ranger Super Fine Gold Embossing powder.

On the inside of the card, I used Craftin Desert Divas – Dragon Festival clear stamps, Versa Mark ink and Ranger Super Fine Gold Embossing powder for the dragon and Recollections Valentine’s Day Clear Stamps and Die.

Sentiments – Craftin Desert Divas – Dragon Festival stamp set.

Happy Chinese New Year Everyone! Wishing you all joy, luck, good fortune and good health!!

Miss Kate Cuttables – Guest Designer

Surprise!  I’m a guest designer for Miss Kate Cuttables again this year! Miss Kate Cuttables offers awesome freebie designs everyday and I always look forward to them. I also love their designs and their new paper is great too! I just had to have it as it goes so well with their designs!

I LOVE Christmas and make over 55 cards every year to give to family and friends. I thought why not start early this year and so I made a Christmas themed card for my guest spot.

Using my Cricut Explore and Cricut Design Space I uploaded Miss Kate Cuttables “boy-winter-deer-1016” (https://www.misskatecuttables.com/products/product/boy-winter-deer.php). I thought he was sooo cute! Added some Ranger Glossy Accents to his nose and eyes.  Wink of Stella – GL Green 040 was used on the ear muffs.

Here is a close-up of the little reindeer.

Also, uploaded one of my all time favourite trees from Miss Kate Cuttables – snowy-tree-10-07-15 (https://www.misskatecuttables.com/products/product/freebie-of-the-day-snowy-tree.php). I’ve used this tree on so many of my cards. Added some glitter with Spectrum Noir Clear Glitter Pen.

The background paper is from Miss Kate Cuttables – “mkd-winter-woodland-paper-collection” – winter woodland reindeer.jpg (https://www.misskatecuttables.com/products/product/winter-woodland-paper-collection.php). Printed out the digital image on my HP Printer and then sized it to 6″ x 6″ and edge around the sides with Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Peeled Paint.

Behind the reindeer the paper is from American Crafts – Holiday collection – 6 x 6″ (15.2 cm x 15.2 cm). Used My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out to cut out the square and then edged around the sides of the small square with Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Peacock Feathers

The hills were made with Recollections – Christmas Inkjet Printable Glitter Paper – 8.5″ x 11″ and Lawn Fawn – Lawn Cut dies.  Then used  Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Tumbled Glass along the tops of the hills.

“Merry Christmas” ribbon is by Celebrate It!

Miss Kate Cuttables, thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of your guest design team again this year. It truly is a great honour and it made me so happy!

Boo’s Hallowe’en Card to Vet 2016

Hi There,

For those of you that follow me, you all know that I have a cat named “Boo”.  She was a rescue cat and we were so lucky to get her. She was 6.5 years old at the time and is now a little over 13 years old. We love her sooo much! She turned out to be extremely loveable and we couldn’t be happier with her!

boo3

Since her name was “Boo” we didn’t change it and I made a card for the vet from her for Hallowe’en. How could I not?? She was the perfect Hallowe’en cat. LOL! As a result, it is now a tradition for me to make cards for the vet and his staff for all of the special holidays and occasions from “Boo”.

This is the card that I made for this year.

The front of the card is made using stamps from Hampton Art Clear Stamps and Recollections Clear Stamps.

Background papers are from Pebbles – Tricks and Treats – 6 x 6 Paper pad.

Sentiment is from Cricut – Autumn Celebrations – Happy Halloween #M38C94 and  My Creative Time – Too Cute to Spook.

Birthday Bears

Hi there,

Back to share a card that I made using Too Cute By Jessica Bears from  Too Cute by Jessica – Birthday-Girl-Bears

and Too Cute by Jessica –  Birthday Boy Bears for my Aunt’s birthday.

Sentiment on front of card is from JadededBlossom stamps “Party Animal”.

Dotted eyes with Gelly Roll Sakura #8 Pen. Used Wink of Stella – Clear on the pompoms and on the base of hat to add some extra sparkle.

I made the card so that the 2 front panels opened up to reveal the sentiment.

Here are some close-ups.

GirlBDyBear BDBoyBear

The bears were really fuzzy, but I put them through the Xyron, so they look a little bit scruffy. LOL! I still like how they turned out though. Hope you do too!

My aunt really loved her card. Made me very happy!

I used Cricut Design Space and my Cricut Explore to cut out all of the pieces. For the bears, I used the scoring tool and mulberry paper. Then I just outlined the pieces so that I could see them better. Wet around the outlines and pulled my bear pieces apart to make them fuzzy. Added some brown chalk to give the edges some added dimension.

On the inside, I added this sentiment from  “Whatnot Sentiments Set Three – Your Next Stamp”.

Hope you like it too!!!
