Matchbook Baby Card!

Today I’m sharing a miniature Baby card using Art Impressions – MB Nursery – 5495, MB Template Dies (5317) and MB Envelope Die (5318) that I made for my niece’s  baby shower. She was very surprised when she saw how small the card was. LOL! I always love seeing everyone’s expression when they receive their little matchbook sized cards.

To create the card, I began with the card base using some scrap paper from my stash for the background. The design was only on one side, so I doubled it up and glued it together. Then using a Cuttlebug die-cutting machine and the Art Impressions – MB Template Dies (5317), I die cut the designer paper for the base of the card and also the Sentiment pop-up out of a scrap of white cardstock.

With Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI, I stamped all of the images and the sentiment onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in all of the images with Copic markers listed below. Once this was completed, the images were all cut out using Art Impressions – MB Nursery – 5495 dies and the pop-ups were adhered to the card with double-sided tape. The window frames, Baby Blocks and Wording were applied using liquid glue. I stamped the sentiment onto some white cardstock with Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and applied Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder. This was heat embossed using a Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool.

Lastly, I die cut the envelope out of some scrap double-sided paper that I had in my stash using the Art Impressions – MB Envelope Die (5318). A smaller message was written on an even tinier miniature envelope to my niece and nephew.

Matchbook Wedding Card!

Today I’m sharing a miniature Wedding card using Art Impressions – MB Chapel – 5496, MB Template Dies (5317) and MB Envelope Die (5318) that I made for my cousin Trevor and his beautiful bride Caroline’s wedding a week ago. Wishing them both many joyous and prosperous years ahead with lots of happiness and laughter!

All of their decorations for the wedding were in purple, so I made this little card to match, which I inserted into a larger card that I had made for them.

To create the card, I began with the card base using some scrap double-sided paper, Cuttlebug die-cutting machine and the Art Impressions – MB Template Dies (5317). The floor was die cut using Joy Crafts – Artist Trading Card – Wood Texture paper.

With Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI, I stamped all of the images and the sentiment onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in all of the images with Copic markers listed below.  The windows were stamped onto Forever In Time – Vellum Print Stack Pack paper using VersaMark ink and then applying Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail. The powder was heat set embossed using a Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. This gave them a stained glass look. Using the Cuttlebug again, I die cut all of the inside pop-ups, cross and windows using Art Impressions – MB Chapel dies. Lastly, I die cut the envelopes out of some scrap double-sided paper that I had in my stash using the Art Impressions – MB Envelope Die (5318).

Double-sided tape was applied to do the assembly on the tabs and wall items. They were then all adhered to the base card.  Double-sided tape was also applied to the flaps of the larger envelope to complete the assembly. To finish off both the card and the larger envelope, I stamped the sentiments onto some white cardstock with VersaMark ink and applied Ranger Super Fine Gold Embossing powder. This was heat embossed using a Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool and then cut to size with a cutter and scissors to create the banners. These were both applied to the finished card and envelope using liquid glue as well as the little heart. Then a small message was written on the miniature envelope to the bride and groom.

Matchbook Nativity!

Today I’m sharing another miniature Match Book Christmas card using Art Impressions – MB Nativity – 5443 and MB Template Dies (5317). The closed size is 1.75″ x 2″.

To create the card, I began with the card base using Stampin’ Up! Wood Textures double-sided paper, Cuttlebug die-cutting machine and the Art Impressions – MB Template Dies (5317). From the same die set, the sentiment pop-up and star were cut out using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock and Recollections – Matte Gold Foil cardstock.

With Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI, I stamped all of the images onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in all of the images and then, using the Cuttlebug again, I die cut all of the inside pop-ups using Art Impressions – MB Nativity – 5443. The windows were done 4 times, 2 for the outside and 2 for the inside of the card. I cut a really small piece of plastic from a clear bag to be the same size as the window and glued it to the card before adding on the outside windows to simulate a window pane. Versafine – Majestic Blue was stamped onto the sentiment pop-up. Lastly, I die cut the envelopes using Craft Smith – Peppermint Twist double-sided paper and Art Impressions – MB Envelope Die (5318). (Not shown in photo.)

Double-sided tape was applied to do the assembly on the tabs. They were then all adhered to the base card. I created a little 1.5″ x 1.5″ white square and attached it to some Recollections – Red cardstock. I then cut around it again to create a slim border. I glued this onto the back of the card in order write my sentiment. The card was then folded up and put into the little match book envelope. Double-side tape was also applied to the flaps of the larger envelope to complete the assembly.

Matchbook Santa Christmas!

Today I’m sharing a Match Book sized Christmas card using Art Impressions – MB Santa Christmas – 5442, MB Template Dies (5317), MB Envelope Die (5318)  that I made. Love these little cards as they are so fun to make. The closed size is 1.75″ x 2″.

To create the card, I began with the card base using PhotoPlay – Christmas Memories double-sided paper, Cuttlebug die-cutting machine and the Art Impressions – MB Template Dies (5317). Using the same dies, I also die cut the flooring using Joy Crafts – Artist Trading Card – Tough Texture. This small paper is excellent for the small detail required. I glued this piece to the base and set it aside.

With Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI, I stamped all of the images and the sentiment onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in all of the images and applied Pental Slicci – Gold 8.0 pen to the lamp post. A Quickie Glue Pen was used to apply Glitter to Santa’s hat and clothing, the stockings, Christmas Tree Bulbs and on the wreath. With the Cuttlebug, I die cut all of the inside pop-ups using Art Impressions – MB Santa Christmas 5442 and the envelopes using Craft Smith – Peppermint Twist double-sided paper and the Art Impressions – MB Envelope Die (5318). Double-sided tape was applied to do the assembly on the tabs and wall items. They were then all adhered to the base card as show above. Matchbook Get Well!

Today I’m sharing a miniature Get Well card using Art Impressions – MB Get Well – 5499, MB Template Dies (5317), MB Envelope Die (5318) and MB Wall Accessories (5323) that I made for a friend that had just had surgery. Love these little cards as they are so fun to make.

To create the card, I began with the card base using Carta Bella Paper Co. – Botanical Garden double-sided paper, Cuttlebug die-cutting machine and the Art Impressions – MB Template Dies (5317). From the same die set, the windows and window frames were cut out using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. Lastly, with the same dies, I cut out the floor using Joy Crafts – Artist Trading Card – Wood Texture paper.

Matchbook Craft Room!

Today I’m sharing a miniature Birthday card using Art Impressions – MB Craft Room Set – 5321, MB Template Dies (5317) and MB Envelope Die (5318) that I made for my Aunt’s Birthday in April. My aunt is a crafter like myself. When I first handed the card to her, she looked at me as if to say “What is this?” I started to laugh and said, “It’s your Birthday Card”. The card is the size of a matchbook. LOL! She couldn’t believe how tiny it was. I wrote the sentiment on the inside of the smaller envelope. When she opened her card, she fell in love with it and I hope that you do too! Proof that some big things do come in small packages!!!! 🙂

To create the card, I began with the card base using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, Cuttlebug die-cutting machine and the Art Impressions – MB Template Dies (5317). I used this same die cut again to add the paper background for the inside of the card and adhered them together using liquid glue. From the same die set, the windows, window frames, hearts and bow were also cut out. Lastly, with the same dies, I cut out the floor using Joy Crafts – Artist Trading Card – Wood Texture paper.

Lastly, I die cut the envelopes out of some scrap double-sided paper that I had in my stash using the Art Impressions – MB Envelope Die (5318).

I wanted to create a small picture frame, so I drew one onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock, coloured it in with Copic markers and then cut around the frame. The heart was then adhered into the centre of the frame with some liquid glue. A few small gems were also added above and below the heart.

Double-side tape was applied to the flaps of the larger envelope to complete the assembly. For the small envelope, I used the little bow and a pop-dot to close it so that it could be opened easily.
