Sweet Note of Thanks!

Today I’m sharing a Thank-you card using Your Next StampMusic Bunny – CYNS262. I was recently on a cruise and we met some new wonderful couples that sat at the tables next to ours and we exchanged information. Unknown to us until the final evening, the couple that sat directly beside us was Steven Gilliland and his wonderful wife Diane. Steven happens to be a very well known acclaimed author and public speaker. My husband and I were so happy when Steven sent us a few of his books, “Making a Difference” and a “Cherry On Top”. Steven had personally autographed them to us as well. What a kind and awesome gesture and it was very much appreciated. We are currently reading his books and just love them. As a thank you for their kind generosity, I sent them this card from my husband and I.

To create the card, I began with a card base of 5.5″ x 5.5″ using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. I cut Recollections – Matte Gold Foil cardstock to be the same size as the base card and applied double-sided tape to it. This was adhered directly to the base card. Next, I cut a piece of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock to the size of 5.25″ x 5.25″. I sprayed some water onto the paper and then using Kraftin’ Kimmie – Musical Melodies stencil I placed it on top of the paper and ran it through my Cricut Die Cutting machine to emboss the paper. Once the paper was dry, I placed the stencil over top of the paper again and this time, using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot and a blending brush, I coloured in the musical notes. I also inked around the edges with the same ink and a mini dauber.

Using my Cuttlebug and PinkFresh Studio – Essentials – Blanket Stitched Square 4″ dies, I die cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The main image was stamped onto this die cut using Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI. I coloured in the image and created my own background. Once this was completed, I put the image back into my MISTI and stamped the sentiment using Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink. Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder was applied over top of the ink and then heat embossed with a Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. The little notes were added with Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and a miniature stamping block. I just chose several notes and stamped them randomly around the image. I felt like the image was still missing something, so I decided to take my Copic black marker (100) and using the lines from the die cut as a guide, coloured in every second stripe. I thought this made it look like a piano keyboard. Lastly, My Creative Time – Stitched Squares Inside and Out 4.5″ were used to die cut Recollections – Matte Gold Foil cardstock.

The card was now ready to assemble. I added U-Line double-sided pop-up tape to the back of the music square, gold square and image. Each of them were popped onto each other and centred onto the base card.

Meowy Christmas!

It’s the last day of the 2022 Cat Lovers Hop and today I’m sharing a Christmas card I made using Gerda Steiner Designs –  Deck The Halls – GSD438. I thought this image was adorable! Have fun hopping everyone!

I created a 5.5″ x 4.25″ card base using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. I cut the background to be the same size using Wild Rose Studio – Winter Bauble Paper and adhered it directly to the base using double-sided tape. Using Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Tumbled Glass and a finger dauber, I inked around all of the edges of the card. With my Cuttlebug and Hero Arts – Infinity Dies – Ornaments, I die cut a large ornament from Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock and the ribbon and topper from a scrap piece of gold cardstock.

Using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the image onto the Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock and with Versafine – Majestic Blue, I stamped the sentiment onto the base card. I embossed the sentiment with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder and then heat set it with a Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. The image was coloured in with Copic markers and with a Gelly Roll Sakura #8 Pen designs were added to the ornaments and light bulbs. I tried to create the ornament as close to the paper as I could. Once this was completed, using liquid glue, I attached the top piece and the bow to the ornament. U-Line double-sided tape was added to the back of ornament die cut and it was popped up onto the background. With a Gelly Roll Sakura #8 Pen, I added in some string for the bauble.

Dance With Me!!

Today, I’m sharing a card that I made using Dreamerland Crafts stamps called Just Dance With Me – DCS17037. Sometimes just dancing with our partners or friends can bring such joy to us. No matter where you may be, just hear the music and dance no like no one is watching!

To create this card I began by making a base of 5.5″ x 4.25″ using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. The sky was created using Lawn Fawn Cuts – Cloudy Stencil, a  blender brush and Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Salty Ocean and Broken China. To create the grass, I first cut 2 pieces of DCWV – Pocket Blossom designer paper to the sizes of 5.5″ x 2.5″ and 5.5″ x 1-5/8″.  Lawn Fawn – Grassy Hillside Borders die cuts and my Anna Griffin Empress Mini Cutting Machine were used to die cut the 2 pieces. Using a blender brush and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Rustic Wilderness, I inked over top of the blades of grass and then around the other 3 edges.

The main image was stamped using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in the image and then fussy cut around it leaving a slim white border. U-Line double-sided tape was added to the back of the image. I then placed the image onto the card before removing the tape backing to see where to place the sentiment. Using my MISTI again and Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink, I applied the sentiment onto the base card. Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder was then applied to it and it was heat embossed with Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool.

The final pieces of the card were now ready to assemble. I peeled off the tape backings from the large die-cut and added some liquid glue to allow me to move it into the correct position over top of the grass I had placed down earlier onto the base card. After popping up the top grass cut, I then repeated the same process and popped up the image in between the blades of grass. Finally, I added in some butterflies from the same stamp set using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Wilted Violet. I had made them lighter by first stamping off of the page and then onto the card.

Card Recipe:

AHH – 60!!

Sharing a birthday card I made for a friend using Art ImpressionsAHH Set – A4671 and Rock On Laugh Lines – 5422. I was late getting this birthday card out to my friend as usual and this face says it all. LOL!

To make the card, I began with the base of 8.5″ x 7″ Hammermill – Premium Colour cardstock, scored and folded to the size of 8.5″ x 3.5″. Using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, the images were stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Cardstock and coloured in with Copic Markers. Once the images were coloured, I fussy cut around them both. For the blouse, I stamped the image again onto DCWV – Pocket Blossom paper and paper-pierced it onto the image after I had run it through my Xyron Create a Sticker. For the image on the front page, a black marker was used to outline all of the edges.

For the front of the card, I die cut 3 balloons using my Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine, Concord & 9th – Pop-Up Par-Tay dies and Pergamano Parchment Paper – Rainbow Pastel and 1 balloon out of a spare piece of patterned paper to use for the inside of my card. The numbers were cut from Recollections – Black cardstock using my cutting machine and Lawn Fawn Lawn Cuts – Henry’s 123s. To create the background, I used multiple Tim Holtz Distress inks listed below, multiple brushes and Lawn Fawn – Confetti Stencils to create the background on the base card front.  The sentiment was stamped with a MISTI, Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and then embossed with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder. Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat the embossing powder. Then, I fussy cut around it.

The front of the card was now ready to assemble. I ran each of the numbers through my Xyron Create a Sticker and the balloons through my Xyron Creative Station. The numbers were then placed onto the balloons. I attached the first 2 balloons to the card and then drew in the strings with a black marker. I then added the last balloon and drew another string. A white pencil was used to create a bit of glow along the left side of the balloons. After attaching U-Line double-sided tape to the back of the sentiment and the image, I popped them up onto the front of the card.

Inside of the card:

For the inside of the card, I used Rock On Laugh Lines – 5422 – Art Impressions, Dance It Out Set – 5278 – Art Impressions, Be Happy Laugh Lines – 5279 – Art Impressions for the sentiments. I cut out 3 sentiment bubbles using Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine, Spellbinders – Die D-Lites Conversation Bubble 3 Etched Dies out of white cardstock. I stamped each of sentiments using a MISTI, Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and then embossed with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder. Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat the embossing powder. I ran each of the sentiment bubbles and my image through my Xyron Creative Station.

The inside of the card was now ready to assemble. I placed the 1 bubble sentiment at the top of the card and then using my image as a guide for placement, I attached the patterned balloon to the card first. The image was attached on top of it and then I added the bottom bubble sentiment. Lastly, I placed the final bubble sentiment to the card in between the other top 2 bubble sentiments to complete the card.

Thankfully, she loved her card and I hope you do too!

Mermaid and Friends!!

Today, I’m sharing a card that I made using Mermaids & Friends Fran’s Clear Stamps & Cutting Dies Stampendous Set – CSD18.

To make this card I used a base of 5.5″ x 4.25″ using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. I cut a piece of coral cardstock to the size of 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″ and adhered it directly to the base using double-sided tape. I created my own background paper using Crayola chalk, water and American Crafts Vicki Boutin Mixed Media Foundations Paper cut to the size of 5.25″ x 4″. Once the paper was dry, I embossed the whole background with Emboss It – Clear ink and then added Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder. I heat embossed this with my Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. I did this same technique with the paper that I used to cut out coral with my Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine and Elizabeth Craft Designs – Seaweed dies. For the main background, I added some sand to the bottom using Seth Apter – Baked Texture – Dirty Sand and my Ranger HEAT IT Craft Tool. This process takes a little longer, but it allows you to just sprinkle the embossing powder on top and then heat from the bottom first and then on top. I think this gave it a more natural look. Using U-Line double-sided tape, I added the chalk embossed background to the base card.

The images were stamped using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured in the images using copic markers. For the pearl, I coloured it in using Cosmic Shimmer Opal Blaze Touch Tip – Turquoise Peach and then embossed it with Ranger – Holographic Embossing Powder and heat set it with Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. Clear – Wink of Stella was added over top of the bikini top and the fin to make them glitter. Unfortunately, you can’t see that in this photo. Once the images were coloured, I die cut the turtle and the mermaid using the dies that came with the stamp using my Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine.

My card was now ready to assemble. I added U-Line double-sided tape to the backs of the 2 images and all of the buttons. I removed the backs from the buttons earlier. I popped each of the characters and added a second layer of tape to the mermaid and then popped it up on the card as well. To finish it off, I added in some bubbles using Your Next Stamp Gumdrops – Crystal Clear And Sparkle Gumdrops. The crown was coloured in with Pental Sunburst Metalic Med Gel Pen – Gold.

Smooth Sailing Ahead!!

Today, I’m sharing a card that I made using Dreamerland Crafts stamps called Wishing you a smooth sailing ahead – DCS1703. This card could be used to wish someone smooth sailing for cruising, retirement or for a new job position or even if you knew someone who just bought a new boat for fun! The stamp set also comes with 2 more sentiments, “on a Journey to find Happiness” and “Taking a break from my daily routine”.

To make this card I used a base of 5.5″ x 4.25″ using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. Recollections – Black cardstock was die cut to the size of 4.75″ x 3.5″ using Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers. Using the same machine and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies, I die cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card to the size of 4.5″ x 3.75″. The main image was stamped using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I stamped the images again onto Post-It Note paper to create a mask and fussy cut around them. After stamping the main image, I placed the masking of the little girl in the boat on top of the inked image as shown below.

I stamped the mountains starting from the left side, while still using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. The mountain mask was applied over top of them and I stamped another set of mountains so that they looked like they were behind the first set of mountains. I continued to do this going across the image to create a mountain range. Then, I removed all of the masks and coloured in the image using copic markers.  Copic – Opaque White was used to create the crests of the waves and Stampin’ Up – Whisper White Ink and a small #2 round brush were used to create the clouds in the sky. Versamark, my MISTI and Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail were used to add in the birds from the same stamp set. Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat emboss the powder. I added U-Line double-sided tape to the back of the image and popped it up onto the black rectangle.

Using my MISTI, Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder, I stamped and embossed the sentiment onto Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat emboss this as well. Using Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine and My Creative Time – Bunch of Fun Circle Dies, I die cut the sentiment with a 1.25″ circle. With a 1.5″ circle punch, I die cut Recollections – Black cardstock. I added U-Line double-side tape to the back of the sentiment and popped it up onto the larger black circle. I added a double layer of the U-Line double-side tape to the right of the black rectangle on each side and popped up the larger black circle to the bottom right of the card. YNS Gumdrops – Ice Ice Baby Sparkly Gumdrops were added to the top left corner of the card to finish it off.

Rain or Shine!

Sharing a card I made today using Penny Black Stamps – Rain or Shine. My husband and I always celebrate the first day that we started going out together and also our wedding anniversary each year. Yesterday, marked 36 wonderful years together. We had bears on the top of our wedding cake, so I thought it would be great to make him a card with bears to celebrate our special day.

To make my card, I started out with Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock to create a card base of 5.5″ x 4.25″. Using My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies and my Cuttlebug, I die cut a small rectangle into the front of the card. For the raindrops, I first applied some Post-It tape down the centre of the card and then applied Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Tumbled Glass with a Picket Fence – Blending Brush. I placed Kraftin’ Kimmie – Rainy Day Stencil over top of this blue section and this time I applied Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean. I removed the stencil and the Post-it Note tape and covered the centre where the blue colour ended. Using a Picket Fence – Blending Brush and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Squeezed Lemonade, I applied yellow to the entire right side of the card. Lastly, I placed Kraftin’ Kimmie – Starburst Stencil over top and using the same brush, I applied Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mustard Seed. I die cut the word “Happy” using My Creative Time – Happy Everything Stamp Set and Recollections – Black cardstock. Lastly, using a sentiment from the same stamp set, I stamped and heat embossed the word “Anniversary” using Versa Fine – Onyx Black and Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder.

Here is the inside of the card.

I stamped the image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I die cut it using Lawn Fawn – Zig Zag Square Stackables and coloured in the image with Copic markers. Using my MISTI again, I heat embossed the sentiment onto Recollections – Black cardstock using VersaMark and Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail. Gina K. Designs – Master Layouts – #9 was used to die cut the sentiment. I applied glue to the back of the image and sentiment and attached them both to the inside of the card.

You Go First!!

Sharing a birthday card I made using Art Impressions Never Too Old – 5114  for the main image and sentiment. My friend and I tease each other about getting older. So, I thought this would be a fun card to make for her. LOL! I used another sentiment from this same set on the inside too, which reads, “Thanks for always being older than me”.

To make my card, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. For the background, I used multiple inks from Tim Holtz listed below, Picket Fence Studio Blender Brushes and Lawn Fawn – Confetti Stencils. Using my MISTI, Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock. The image was coloured in and fussy cut. Using my MISTI and Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink, I stamped the image onto Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. It was then embossed using my Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool and Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder. Spellbinders Die D-Lites – Conversation Bubble Three (S2-137) and my Cuttlebug were used to die cut the sentiment. U-Line double-sided tape was added to the backs of the sentiment and coloured image and they were both popped up onto the background to complete the front of the card. I repeated the process of inking and embossing for the inside sentiment to complete the card.

Flying By!!

Today, I’m sharing a card using Dreamerland Crafts stamps called Off To A Flying Start – D16003. We have had a lot of pilots in our family in the past and still do. I’ve had the precious opportunity of flying in a small 2 seater plane that my dad and uncle had built years ago and also being allowed into the cockpit of an Air Canada plane on our honeymoon flight in both directions over 30 years ago when it was still possible to this. On the flight home there was an electrical storm. This was so awesome to see. These are experiences that I will never forget as I loved every moment.

To make this card I used a base of 5.5″ x 4.25″ using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card was cut to the same size as the base and Dreamerland image Off To A Flying Start – D16003 was stamped using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. The image was stamped a second time onto some plain paper and then fussy cut to create a mask. I coloured in the image using Copic markers. The mask created earlier was then put over top of the coloured image and I applied some Post-It tape along the bottom to hold it into place. Using some stencils that I had previously created using Avery Elle – Pierced Clouds Die, multiple blue Tim Holtz Distress inks listed below and a Picket Fence – Blending Brush, I created the cloudy background. Then, I applied the grass using Copic markers. The coloured image was then put back into my MISTI and using Versa Fine – Onyx Black to stamp the sentiment Sky’s The Limit by Kraftin’ Kimmie. Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail was applied and heated with Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. I applied double-side tape and attached it to the base card to finish it off.

Hello Fabulous!!

Sharing a birthday card I made for a friend using Art ImpressionsAHH Set – A4671 and Glamour Pop-Ups – 5355. I was late getting this birthday card out to my friend as usual and this face says it all. LOL!

To make the card, I began with the base of 5.5″ x 4.25″ Hammermill – Premium Colour cardstock. Using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, the image was stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Cardstock and coloured in with Copic Markers. Once everything was coloured, the sentiments were stamped with Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and then embossed with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder. Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat the embossing powder. I added double-sided tape to the back of the image and attached it directly to the base card.

Inside of the card:

For the inside of the card, I used Art Impressions Glamour Pop-Ups – 5355. I stamped and coloured the image using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. The image was coloured with Copic markers and then die cut using my Cuttelbug and the dies that came with the stamp. Love this image because if you are going to get older, you might as well be fabulous and enjoy it!

The image pops out. Here are a couple of different views. Art Impressions also has an amazing video to show you how the mechanism works.

I decorated the inside with Forever In Time – Glam Glitter Cardstock – Ombre Pastel cardstock and also Bubbly Girls – Party – Yvonne Creations cardstock. Then, I added the pop-up as per the instructions from Art Impression stamps.

Thankfully, she loved her card and I hope you do too!

Moo-rry Christmas!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a Christmas card using Chillin’ Charlie – TT049 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Moo-rry Christmas – FDG002 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas release is being celebrated this month at High Hopes Rubber Stamps.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base from Recollections – Winter 4.25″ x 5.5 (Assorted Box of Cards). I cut Crafter’s Companion – Luxury Cardstock – Navy Blue paper to the size of 3-5/8″ x 4-5/8″. The 3.5″ x 4.5″ background was cut from Heartfelt Creations – Festive Winterscapes Collection. I inked around the edges of the base card and background image with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Faded Jeans. The sentiment was added to the base card using Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and my MISTI. The ink was embossed using my Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool and Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder. I applied the 2 cut pieces together using double-sided tape and then popped them onto the base using 3M  double-sided tape. I had some branches pre-punch from earlier from various green cardstock using my Martha Stuart – Branch punch. I applied liquid glue to the backs of each of the branches and applied them to the popped up background.

With my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in the image with Copic markers and then I fussy cut around it. For the hat trim and pop-pom, I used Ranger – Emboss It Pen Clear and sprinkled on some WOW! Sparkling Snow Embossing Glitter. I heated this with my Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool and then repeated the process to give it more texture. The image was popped up onto the background using 3M double-sided tape and a few small Ranger Snowflakes were added. Lastly, I added some Stickles – Diamond to the snowflakes on the background and in the centres of the smaller snowflakes to complete my card.

Time to Celebrate!!

Today, I’m sharing a Christmas card using Dreamerland Crafts stamps called Let’s Celebrate – D19074 for the main image and Christmas Snow Scene – M18313 for the background. For the sentiment, I used Holiday Sentiments Set 001 – D163001

To make this card I used a base of 5.5″ x 4.25″ using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. My Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers Die were used to die-cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Cardstock. Using the background stamps, I stamped the background using my MISTI and Memento – Summer Sky ink. I coloured in the sky, trees and house with Copic markers and then added some snow using Gelly Roll Sakura #8 Pen. Once this was done, I added Gina K Designs – Glitz Glitter Gel – Iridescent to the remainder of the die cut for the sparkling snow. I added a little bit more where the boys feet would land and set it aside to dry. Once again, I used my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and stamped the main images. I coloured them in with Copic markers and then applied Ranger – Emboss It Pen Clear to the fur trims for the hats and clothing. I applied WOW! Sparkling Snow Embossing Glitter to the inked areas and then heat embossed everything with my Marvy Heat Embossing Tool. For the pompoms, I applied Cosmic Shimmer Fluffy Stuff and then heat embossed the liquid for it to puff up. For the present, I added some gold swirls using a Pental Sunburst Metalic Med Gel Pen. Then I fussy cut around the images leaving a thin white border. I stamped the sentiment using my MISTI and Lawn Fawn – Peacock Ink on to the base card. Then I stamped it again, this time using Versamark ink and then added Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder and heat embossed it.

The card was now ready to assemble. Using double-sided tape, I attached the background to the scalloped border. I added 3M double-sided tape to the back of the scalloped border and popped it up onto the base card. Using 3M double-sided tape, I popped up the main image and present onto the background. Merry Little Christmas!!

Today, I’m sharing a Christmas card using Dreamerland Crafts stamps called The Most Wonderful Gift Of All – D18038 and for the sentiment Happiness Is Time Spent With A Good Friend – D20009. Do you remember playing with your train sets at Christmas time? I remember playing with my brothers and cousins sets. It was always so much fun watching the trains go around the tracks.

To make this card I used a base of 5.5″ x 4.25″ using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. For the background paper, I used Recollections – Burgundy cardstock cut to the same size as the base. The background layer was cut from Carta Bella – Santa’s Workshop paper, cut to the size of 5-3/8″ x 4-1/8″. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Rustic Wilderness was used to ink around the edges and it was attached to the burgundy background using double-sided tape. My Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Die was used to die-cut the Recollections – Burgundy cardstock for the background to go behind the coloured image. This was popped up onto the main background with 3M double-sided tape. Using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers, I die cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Cardstock. With my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the main image onto this die cut. I then taped the die cut back over the paper and coloured in the image using Copic markers. This allowed me to keep a thin white border around the coloured image. Stickles – Diamond was used to fill in the area on the inside of the tracks to represent a snowy base. I used Gelly Roll Sakura #8 Pen to add some snow to the little trees and some of the roof tops. Once the Stickles was all dry, I stamped the sentiment using Versamark ink. This was embossed using my Marvy Heat Embossing Tool and Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder. I added 3M double-sided tape to the back of the coloured image and popped it up.

Lastly, I placed some washi-tape onto white cardstock and trimmed it to have a thin white border. I ran this through my Xyron Create a Sticker so that it would lay flat and placed it onto some Recollections – Burgundy cardstock. Using my paper trimmer, I trimmed around the edges and them popped it up onto the background using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to finish off the card.

Be-Lated Birthday Chicks!!

Sharing a belated birthday card I made for my sister-in-law using Art Impressions – Spring Chicken Set – AiCS40. I really had fun with these cool Chicks! LOL!

Inside of the card.

To make the card, I began with the base of 5.5″ x 4.25″ Hammermill – Premium Colour cardstock. My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies and my Cuttlebug were used to die cut Echo Park Paper Co. – My Favorite Winter paper. I just loved this paper and thought it had the look of barn board for the chicken coop. Double-sided tape was applied to the back of the background paper and it was applied directly to the base card. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Aged Mahagony was used to ink around all of the edges of the card. Using Lifestyle Crafts Cutting Dies – Nesting Circles dies, I die cut 1 large circle from black cardstock and 1 smaller circle from Doodle Bug Designs Inc. – Down on the Farm paper. I inked around the smaller circle with the same Tim Holtz ink. I applied the 2 circles together using double-sided tape and then added 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the back of the larger circle and attached it to the background. The speech bubble was die cut with Spellbinders Die D-Lites – Conversation Bubble 4 and my Cuttlebug.

Using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, the images were stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Cardstock and coloured in with Copic Markers. Once everything was coloured, I fussy cut around both images. I popped up the image on the front with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape and ran the second image through my Xyron Creative Station to make a sticker out of it and placed it on the inside of the card. All of the sentiments were stamped with Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and then embossed with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder. Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Too heated the powder. The sentiment bubble was popped up onto the front of the card with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

Feel Good!!

Today, I’m sharing a card that I made using Dreamerland Crafts stamps called Having You Around – D19078 for the main image and sentiment. There’s nothing like the love between a boy and his faithful companion. They become best friends as they both grow older together!!!

To make this card I used a base card of 5.5″ x 4.25″ using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. I also cut a panel the same size out of Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I used this to create my background using stencils I created to make clouds by Avery Elle – Pierced Clouds Die (D-05-01) and inks listed below by Tim Holtz. Copic markers were used to colour in the water and I used My Favourite Things – Slimline Grassy Edges Stencil as a guide for the grass on the bottom of the card. Using my MISTI and Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink, I stamped the sentiment and then embossed the ink with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder. This was heat set with Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. I used double-sided tape and attached my background panel to the base card.

Using my Cuttlebug and dies from Studio Light – Wonderful Autumn, I cut the trees and landscape out of Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. Using my Copic markers, I coloured these in as well. Then I layered them on top of each other and used glue to adhere them to the coloured background.

Next, using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Cardstock and coloured it in with Copic markers. I fussy cut around the image by hand and used a black marker to go around all of the edges. 3M VHB – 2 sided tape was applied to the back of the image and it was placed on top of the background to finish off the card.

Birthday Presents and Cake!!

Sharing a birthday card that I made for a friend using a digital image from Polkadoodles called Cake Time Digi – Winnie Celebrations 2. I really love this awesome collection.

To make the card, I first imported the image and sentiment into Microsoft Word and then printed everything out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer using High Quality Grayscale. I found this to be the best setting as it doesn’t smudge when you colour. Next, I used Gina Marie Designs – Loopy Oval dies to die cut the image out. The image was coloured in with Copic markers.

Using Hot Buy – Recollections – Jewel Tones – 5.5″ x 4.25″ cardstock as the base. I stamped the sentiment using Versa Fine – Onyx Black and Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder. Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat the embossing powder. All of the edges of the card were inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Picked Raspberry.

3M VHB – 2 sided tape was applied to the back of the die cut and attached directly to the base. Lastly to finish off the card, I added some Crafts – Rhinestone Stickers.

Today, I’m sharing an inspirational slider card that I made using Dreamerland Crafts stamps called Your Love Lifts Me Up – D20001. Love this stamp and image for lifting someone’s spirit up.

To make this card I used a base card of 5.5 x 4.25″ using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. I cut the background to be the same size using Asuka Studio – Sparkly Sky. I really love this paper. Using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and coloured them in with Copic markers. Then, I fussy cut around it leaving a small white border.

I stamped the sentiment using Versa Fine – Onyx Black and embossed it with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder. The little cloud was die cut with my Cuttlebug and Nellie’s Choice – Nature Scene Dies – NSD002 – Sky. Then I used a Picket Fence – Blending Brush that still had some blue ink on it from my last project to give it some colour. I cut a small strip just over a .5″ wide and about 4″ long to be a pull tab. I die cut a circle out of the top background paper with Lifestyle Crafts Cutting Dies – Nesting Circles and then glued the piece that I cut onto the pull tab. Using 2 layers of 3M VHB – 2 sided tape, I created the path on the back of the background and added some tape where I wanted the tab to stop. I glued 2 small magnets to the back of the cloud and also to the pull tab. (4 in total). Then I used an embossing pillow against the taped sides and over the magnets so that it would glide easier. I added some more double-sided tape to the remainder of the back of the background and then attached it to the card.

Just a Note To Say!!

Today, I’m sharing an inspirational card that I made using Dreamerland Crafts stamps called Farm 01 – D20017 and Just A Note To Say – DCS17038 for the main images and Mix and Match Clear Stamps – DCS19093 for the sentiment.

Above is a close-up of the card. Below is the card opened.

To make this card I used a base card of 11″ x 4.25″ using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. I scored it at 2.75″ and 5.5″ to create an easel card. I stamped the fence, horses, pig and girl onto Inkadoo Stamping Mask Paper and fussy cut around them. Then I placed them onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cut at 5.5″ x 4.25″ for placement.

I removed the fence and using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the girl. I placed the girl mask over top of the stamped girl image and then stamped the fence, chicks, pig and farm house and fields. I stamped a horse and then placed the horse mask over it and stamped a second horse. Next, I removed the masks from the scene. I coloured all of the images and background in with Copic markers. I added double sided tape to the bottom portion of the easel card and attached the coloured image.

My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies were used create the base background and Gina Marie Designs – Petite Looped Lace Rectangle dies were used to create the base for the sentiment. I stamped the sentiment using my MISTI and Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink. I added Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder and then heat embossed the powder with Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Peeled Paint ink was used to ink around the edges of both die cuts.

To complete the card, the large rectangle was added directly to the card using double-sided tape and 2 layers of 3M VHB – 2 sided tape were added to the back of the sentiment die cut and attached to the base card background.

When You Believe!

Today, I’m sharing an inspirational card that I made using Dreamerland Crafts stamps called When You Believe – D20007. I’ve been told that to become a ballet dancer it takes a lot of hard work and practice. This can also be said for many other professions as well. The overwhelming feeling of success and joy when one achieves their goals is always worth the hard work.

To make this card I used a base card of 5.5″ x 4.25″ using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. I printed out the background using my HP Printer and pattern from Nana Vics Digitals – Ballerina #1 Digital Paper. I cut it the same size as the base card and used double-sided tape to attached it on top. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Picked Raspberry was used to ink around all of the edges.

I stamped the image using Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in the image with Copic markers. My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies and my Cuttlebug were used to die cut the image. I stamped the sentiment using my MISTI and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Picked Raspberry onto Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. Then, I cleaned off the stamp and stamped the sentiment again, this time using VersMark ink. I added Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder and then heat embossed the powder with Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. I fussy cut around the sentiment and used Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Picked Raspberry ink to ink around the edges. The image was then centred over the fancy rectangle I die cut using DIY Scrapbooking Artist – Nested Stitched Scallop Rectangle Dies using glue.

To assemble the card, I added 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the backs of the large triangle and sentiment. These were both attached directly to the patterned background. Lastly, to complete the card, I used some Craftin’ Desert Divas – Sherbet Sequins for embellishments.
