Kit and Clowder – Penguin Bauble!

Today I’m sharing a Christmas card that I made following a video for the Penguin Bauble Colouring class by Alyce Keegan at Kit and Clowder during the November Summit Class.

The image provided by Alyce was printed out with my HP Printer onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using High Quality Grayscale and coloured in with Copic markers. Once I finished colouring the image, it was fussy cut leaving a slim border. The sentiment was stamped onto some white cardstock in my stash using VersaFine – Majestic Blue ink, MISTI and Kraftin’ Kimmie – It’s Penguining To Look A Lot Like Christmas!  stamp. Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder was applied over top of the ink and it was heat embossed with a Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. Lastly, I used a Sharpie – Gold Medium Point – Water Based Paint pen to go around the edges.

The base card was created to the size of 6″ x 6″ out of Hammermill – Premium 110 lb. cardstock. Gold cardstock from Chloe’s Crafts Paper Pad was applied directly to the base of the same size using liquid glue. Waffle Flower Crafts – Nesting Squares were used to die-cut Crafter’s Companion – Snowflake Swirls designer paper for the background and Moonstone – Hunkydory – Vintage Filigree Frame die was used to die cut Chloe’s Crafts Paper Pad – Navy Blue paper. I applied both of these directly to the the front of the card using liquid glue and then popped up the finished image and sentiment onto the card using U-Line double-sided foam tape.

Matchbook Nativity!

Today I’m sharing another miniature Match Book Christmas card using Art Impressions – MB Nativity – 5443 and MB Template Dies (5317). The closed size is 1.75″ x 2″.

To create the card, I began with the card base using Stampin’ Up! Wood Textures double-sided paper, Cuttlebug die-cutting machine and the Art Impressions – MB Template Dies (5317). From the same die set, the sentiment pop-up and star were cut out using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock and Recollections – Matte Gold Foil cardstock.

With Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI, I stamped all of the images onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in all of the images and then, using the Cuttlebug again, I die cut all of the inside pop-ups using Art Impressions – MB Nativity – 5443. The windows were done 4 times, 2 for the outside and 2 for the inside of the card. I cut a really small piece of plastic from a clear bag to be the same size as the window and glued it to the card before adding on the outside windows to simulate a window pane. Versafine – Majestic Blue was stamped onto the sentiment pop-up. Lastly, I die cut the envelopes using Craft Smith – Peppermint Twist double-sided paper and Art Impressions – MB Envelope Die (5318). (Not shown in photo.)

Double-sided tape was applied to do the assembly on the tabs. They were then all adhered to the base card. I created a little 1.5″ x 1.5″ white square and attached it to some Recollections – Red cardstock. I then cut around it again to create a slim border. I glued this onto the back of the card in order write my sentiment. The card was then folded up and put into the little match book envelope. Double-side tape was also applied to the flaps of the larger envelope to complete the assembly.

It’s the last day of the 2022 Cat Lovers Hop and today I’m sharing a Christmas card I made using Gerda Steiner Designs –  Deck The Halls – GSD438. I thought this image was adorable! Have fun hopping everyone!

I created a 5.5″ x 4.25″ card base using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. I cut the background to be the same size using Wild Rose Studio – Winter Bauble Paper and adhered it directly to the base using double-sided tape. Using Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Tumbled Glass and a finger dauber, I inked around all of the edges of the card. With my Cuttlebug and Hero Arts – Infinity Dies – Ornaments, I die cut a large ornament from Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock and the ribbon and topper from a scrap piece of gold cardstock.

Using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the image onto the Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock and with Versafine – Majestic Blue, I stamped the sentiment onto the base card. I embossed the sentiment with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder and then heat set it with a Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. The image was coloured in with Copic markers and with a Gelly Roll Sakura #8 Pen designs were added to the ornaments and light bulbs. I tried to create the ornament as close to the paper as I could. Once this was completed, using liquid glue, I attached the top piece and the bow to the ornament. U-Line double-sided tape was added to the back of ornament die cut and it was popped up onto the background. With a Gelly Roll Sakura #8 Pen, I added in some string for the bauble.
