Kit and Clowder – January 2021 Markers Class

Hi There,

Sharing with you my finished Melting Moments card after completing the January 2021 Markers class from Kit and Clowder. Image is called “Melting Moments – Agnes Elephant” by Polkadoodles.

For this project I used Copic markers. Alyce from Kit and Clowder also teaches you how to use alternative markers as well. Which I really love, since I also have the full Spectrum Noir collection.

I had a lot of fun doing this class as it taught me a lot of new techniques. Loved creating the details for the shoes and flowers on the cup. Also, the bricks were much easier to do than I would have thought.

I framed the picture with some black cardstock and added Forever In Time – Ribbons and Trims Sticker on the left hand side of the card.

Hope you like it!

Winter Wonderland

Sharing a card I made from the Kit and Clowder October 2020 Markers Class called “Winter Wonderland”. I really love snow and nature and this class combined both of those loves for me. The class challenged me in a lot of ways, but I am so happy with the final results. I decided to turn this finished image into a Christmas card.

Alyce is such a wonderful instructor as she takes you through chapter by chapter breaking down everything and she is very easy to follow. I am sure that I will be doing this class a few more times. One for more practice and two because I LOVE this image so much! LOL!

To complete the card, I ran the image through my Xyron Creative Station to change it into a sticker as I wanted it lay completely flat on the black cardstock that I was adhering it to. I stamped out the sentiment using the stamp from Rosewood Frog’s Whiskers Ink called May Your Christmas – G1089 with VersaMark ink and then used Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail. This was then heated with my Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. I just thought this sentiment went so well with the image.

I cut some AC White Cardstock and scored it to be 6″ x 6″. Then I added some glue to the back panel of my image and mounted it directly to the base. I used 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to pop up the sentiment and then added some embellishments to complete the card.

Stamp: Deer Scene – Kit and Clowder Class (LeeHollandArt)

Sentiments: May Your Christmas – G1089 (Rosewood Frog’s Whiskers Ink)

Fragrant Garden

Today, I’m featuring a card I made using Kit and Clowder September 2020 – Markers – Fragrant Garden class from Kit and Clowder.  I love these monthly classes by Alyce Keegan. She has taught me so much about colouring over the past few years. Her lessons are fantastic as she breaks down everything into small chapters and they are easy to follow. Here is my finished image from the September class. The image was coloured in with Copic markers.

I mounted it onto a white base card from of 5.5″ x 4.25″ with double-sided tape.

Hope you like it and have a great week!

Magical Day!

Hi There! Today, I’m sharing this month’s lesson all completed from Kit and Clowder July 2020 Markers class called “Once Upon a Time”.  The image is by artist Connie Fong. There were so many new techniques learned in this month’s video taught by Alyce Keegan. I love these lessons, because you can stop and start the videos at any time and repeat what Alyce is teaching you.

I had fun colouring in all of the background, but, then my worst nightmare started. I had cleaned all of my markers and made sure they were all full before clouring in the dress, hair and skin. Unfortunately, I ran into a few problems with my markers when I went to colour in the skin tones. For some crazy reason, they decided to get icky when blending the colours. First I tried using a Copic Colorless blender to fix it, but that didn’t really help. I really didn’t want to start over from the very beginning, so I looked up the conversion chart on the Kit and Clowder site for Copic Markers to Prismacolor Pencils. I used that conversion and coloured over the markers with the pencils for the skin tones. Then, I re-outlined her face and arms with a Pigma Micron 005 black marker after all of the colouring was completed.

I also used a PrismaColor Primiere White pencil to make some of the highlights in the folds brighter on the edges.

To put the card together, I used Kraftin’ Kimmie – Magical Friends for the sentiment. I really love the Creative Memories – Mermaid Cove Designer Paper Pack background for this image. It blended in so well. I edged around the card with Sharpie – Gold Medium Point – Water Based Paint. Lastly, to finish off the card, I fussy cut around the image and popped it up with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape and added Craft – Rhinestone Stickers – 02 -3048783 on top of the card in random places to give it some bling.

Hope you like it!

Happy Mother’s Day 2019

Hi Everyone!

Thought I would share my Mother’s Day card that I made for my mom this year! I thought this was the perfect image showing a mother’s love for her child. Our mom’s hugs all make us feel extra special and safe. I think I have the most loving mom in the world and I am truly grateful for everything she has done for me in my life!

I used the lesson from Kit and Clowder – September Pencils Monthly class 2018 to colour this image. The stamp also came with this class. Alyce is a wonderful teacher and she explains each step in detail, both in the videos and booklet that come with the course. She has helped me in so many ways improving my colouring techniques, both with markers and pencils and I am truly grateful to her.

Happy Mother’s Day to all of the mom’s out there!

Happy Father’s Day

Sharing a card that I made for my dad for Father’s Day this year!

My dad is a magnificent carpenter and can build just about anything. He built our entire family home, my portable spinning wheel, and after building multiple miniature airplane models, decided to build a real one. He has also built many other items throughout the years.

He built his airplane in our basement along with my uncle and then had to remove a basement window and part of the front wall to get it out. LOL! It really was quite something to witness. He taught us that if you put your mind to it and you dream about it, then you could do it. Or at least try to do it.

The plane had passed inspection with flying colours and it was really a lot of fun going up into the air with him, as I love to fly too. Not a pilot, but I do love to fly! LOL!

On the front of the card I printed out the digital stamp from Lily of the Valley – The Workbench, then coloured it in with Copic markers using the lessons from Kit and Clowder Technique class taught by Alyce Keegan. I highly recommend Kit and Clowder tutorials as they have helped me come a long way in my colouring techniques over the past couple of years. She really does break it down and make it easy for you to follow.

Stamped the sentiment using Peachy Keen Stamps – PCSC-05 May 2012. Stamped with Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Ground Espresso and then heat embossed with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder.

Included a close-up of the image.

On the inside I printed out the digital image from The Paper Shelter – The Aviator. I then coloured in the image using my Copic markers and did the background using my Spectrum Noir markers. I also created my own sentiment for my dad.

Included a close-up of the image.

For this project I used all Copic markers. Alyce from Kit and Clowder also teaches you how to use alternative markers as well. Which I really love, since I also have the full Spectrum Noir collection.

I had a lot of fun doing this class as it taught me a lot of new techniques. I especially loved learning how to colour the snow as I love making wintery scened Christmas cards. 🙂

Also, loved learning how to do the sky.

To frame the image I used Craftin Desert Diva’s Fancy Frames. One of my all time favourites. Then used Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mermaid Lagoon to go around the border to deepen the colour.

Added in a little glitter to the snowy roofs and snow on the ground, just because I love sparkle. LOL!

Hope you like it!
