Better at the Beach!!!

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Design –  Beach Gnome – Girl from the new June 2022 release. This image also comes with 2 more sentiments, “Good times & tan lines” and “Girls just wanna have sun”.

I imported the image and sentiment into Microsoft Word and printed them out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and the image again onto regular copy paper. Using My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies and my Cuttlebug, I die cut the image. The image was coloured in with Copic markers. I fussy cut around the image printed out of regular copy paper to create a mask and applied it over top of the coloured image using repositionable tape. Using several Picket Fence – Blending Brushes and multiple Tim Holtz Distress Inks and Krafty Kolours – Sandy Shores, I created the sand, water and clouds using Lawn Fawn – Ocean Waves Stencils, Lawn Fawn – Clippings – Slimline Hillside Stencils and Lawn Fawn Cuts – Cloudy Stencil.

I created a 5.5″ x 4.25″ card base using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardsstock. U-Line – 2 sided tape was added to the back of the image and it was popped up onto the base card. To finish the card off, I added in a few seashells using 2 layers of U-Line – 2 sided tape.

Hot Cocoa and Snowfolk!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Snowman Cup Of Love – S149 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Dot Warm Heart – G117 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Hot chocolate is one of my favourite drinks during cold winter days. It looks like it is for this snowman too!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of AC Cardstock – White cut and scored to be 6″ x 6″. I cut the background paper from Hot Buy – Recollections – Jewel Tones cardstock to the same size as the base and used double-side tape to apply it directly to it. Pebbles – Winter Wonderland paper was cut to the size of 5.75″ x 5.75″ and inked around the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mermaid Lagoon. I applied this directly to the main background using double-sided tape. I cut 2 more strips from the Hot Buy – Recollections – Jewel Tones paper at 6″ x 1.5″ and 6″ x .75″ and applied them midway across the card using double-sided tape.

The image and sentiment were stamped using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I die-cut the sentiment using my Cuttlebug and Hero Arts – Infinity Dies – Rounded Rectangle and inked around the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mermaid Lagoon. This was popped up on the card using 3M double-sided tape. The image was die cut with Creative Expression Craft Dies by Sue Wilson – Noble Dies – Double Pierced Ovals and inked around the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mermaid Lagoon. I coloured in the image in with Copic markers and popped it up on the card using 3M double-sided tape. Lastly, I added some Clear Glitter Glue to the bottom of the snowman to create some snow. You can’t see it in this picture, but I also added Wink of Stella – Clear to make the snowman sparkle too!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made an Easter card using this sassy little Posing Bunny – R080 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps. She’s all prettied up with her Easter Bonnet and wanted to show it off. LOL!

To make my card this week, I used Recollections – Hot Buy Pre-Cut Cards for my base folded at 5.5″ x 4.25″. Next I die cut Craft Smart – Hot Buy – Spring & Hop using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Die. This was inked all around the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mermaid Lagoon. It was then attached directly to the base card using Tombow Multi Mono Liquid Glue. The big Easter Egg is from Simple Stories – Bunnies & Baskets. This was popped up using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

I stamped Posing Bunny – R080 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) using my MISTI and then used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around it. This was coloured in with Copic Markers and I gave her eyes some eyelashes. I added this to the card using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. To complete the card I added in some flowers.

Make it Rain!

Sharing a fun birthday card that I made for my husband this week using Make It Rain – CYNS728 (#YourNextStamp) for the main image and sentiment. I thought it would be fun to put the image inside a balloon too! Now if only that could be Lottery Winnings he was holding onto. LOL!

To make my card this week, I started out with a simple lime green card base, sized at 5.5″ x 4.25″.  For the bottom layer I used Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. paper and multiple Tim Holtz inks which I have listed below. Then I die-cut the top layer with my Cuttlebug and #Your Next Stamp – Confetti Panel Die. Hammermill paper was used for this also. I mounted the bottom layer directly onto  the base card and then attached the top die-cut layer using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

For both of the sentiments, I used my MISTI, VeraMark ink and Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail on black cardstock. Then a Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat emboss the powder.

The balloon was die cut using My Creative Time – Stitched Circle Balloon Dies MCT-D137 to cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card which I then stamped the main image onto using Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI. The image was coloured with Copic Markers.

To assemble the remainder of the card, the image and sentiment were popped up on top with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. Some ribbon was tied to the bottom of the balloon and some Kraftin’ Kimmie dots were used.

Make A Wish!!!

Today I’m sharing this adorable Balloon Gnome (KLM Digital Designs) image and sentiments from KLM Digital Designs new release. This little gnome is on his way to bring a special someone their birthday balloon. Make a wish!!! It could be you. LOL!

I printed out the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. For the sentiment inside the balloon, I split it into 2 lines using Microsoft Word. I coloured in the image with Copic markers and then used my Brother Scan and Cut machine to cut it and the black background out behind it. I cut the main sentiment out by hand, glued it some black cardstock and cut around it again leaving a slim border.

For the main background, I used a card base of 5.5″ x 4.25″. I layered some balloon paper cut at the same size from Forever in Time – Birthday Blast. Then I added some blue cardstock cut at .5″ x 4.25″ inches and added it to the top and bottom of the base card after edging around it with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mermaid Lagoon and a small dauber. Once that was complete, I edged around the entire card with the same ink.

I popped up the image and sentiment with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to complete the card.

Card Recipe:

Stamp and Sentiment: Balloon Gnome (KLM Digital Designs)

Inks: HP Printer Greyscale, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mermaid Lagoon

Today, I’m sharing a birthday card that I made with Dreamerland Crafts stamp called With My Love – D19024. This little bear is on his way to wish someone a “Beary Good Birthday”!

To make this card I used a base card of 4.25″ x 5.5″. I stamped the image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI. I coloured in the image and background with Copic markers and then used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around it.

I cut out at rectangle 4.25″ x 5.5″ from Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. paper and then I used various dies and Tim Holtz inks to create the background. I have listed them below. I had die cut templates using the dies which makes it really easy to create the backgrounds.

I stamped the sentiment from Jaded Blossom – Forest Friends using Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and my MISTI onto some Turquoise Cardstock. I used Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder and then heat embossed the powder with Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. Next, I edged around the background sentiment outer edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Peacock Feathers. I went around the main image outline with Copic Markers – B000 and YG03. Birthday Banner Gnome

Today I’m sharing Banner Gnome (KLM Digital Designs) from KLM Digital Designs new release. I thought it would be fun to put the new banner stamp inside a banner. This was such an awesome stamp to play with and it comes with 3 different sentiments, “Happy Birthday” as shown here, “Your Awesome” and “Congratulations”.

When I first started colouring this card, I had something totally different in mind for how I was going to colour the scroll. But, once I created the background, I decided to colour it using bluish green tones for the top and bottom of the large scroll.

I printed out the main image twice onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. I always print using Grayscale because the image won’t smudge when you go to colour. I found that printing out in black sometimes did. I used my brother Scan N’ Cut to cut around 1 of the images. Then fussy cut it where I still needed to. As I mentioned, once before, I’m still learning how to use my new machine.

For the other image, I die cut around it using Penny Black – Paper Scroll and my Cuttlebug. I coloured in the main image with copics. Then I placed the other image that I had cut around earlier over top of it to use it as a mask. I also used some Post-It Note paper to mask off the top and bottom of the main scroll. I used a Picket Fence Studio’s brush and went over the entire background inside the scroll with Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Tumbled Glass. Then, I placed Kraftin’ Kimmie – Confetti Stencil over top of everything. I have a large magnetic mat, so I just used some strong magnets to hold everything in place. Then, using the various sized Picket Fence Studio brushes which I labelled in various colours, I used a mixture of Tim Holtz inks to create the background. All of the colours are listed below.

I removed all of the masked pieces and then completed the colouring of the large scroll.

Lastly, I attached the entire image to some Recollections Purple Passions cardstock cut at 5.5″ x 4.25″ and added some small balloons which I had die cut previously using Your Next Stamp – Mini Balloon Trio Set.

Card Recipe:

Stamp and Sentiment: Banner Gnome (KLM Digital Designs)

Inks: HP Printer Greyscale, Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Tumbled Glass, Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Peacock Feathers, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Wilted Violet, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mermaid Lagoon, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Evergreen Bough, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Cracked Pistachio

Paper: Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, Recollections – Purple Passions 8.5″ x 11″

Die Cuts: Penny Black – Paper Scroll 51-458, Your Next Stamp – Mini Balloon Trio Die Set (YNSD241)

Stencil: Kraftin’ Kimmie – Confetti

Tools: Cuttlebug

Wade Goes To The Beach!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I used Wade – 132 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the main image and Summer’s Day Saying – L031 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Wade couldn’t wait to go the beach. He’s enjoying the waves and the beautiful beach and sunshine. It will be wonderful when we can all join him with our friends and families too!

To make my card this week, I started off with a white card base of 6″ x 6″. I cut out another piece of paper using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock the same size as the base card. Then I ran it through my Cuttlebug using Stampin’ Up – Sizzix Big Shot – Seaside. I loved the wavy pattern it created. Next, I used multiple Tim Holtz shades of blue to create the water effect. All colours are listed below.

I used my Cuttlebug and Your Next Stamp – Stitched Rectangle Die Set to die cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and white cardstock for my image and sentiment. I stamped the sentiment and image onto the die cuts and then coloured in the main image with Copic markers. The background was coloured in using a variety of Copic Refill inks, Colorless Blender and a Q-Tip. For the water, I wisped several colours back and forth and then added some Copic Colorless Blender and wisped the colours one last time. Once everything was completed, ran the image through my Xyron Creative Station so that it would lay completely flat on the blue cardstock I mounted it onto. I cut a thin border all away around the image and inked around the edges of the sentiment with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Brushed Corduroy.  Then popped the image and the sentiment using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape onto the base card. I added in a some sea shells from Dress It Up – Beach Collection and Craftin’ Desert Divas – Seashells Sequence. I just removed the button portion and then used glue dots to attach to the card.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Wade – S132  (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Inks: Memento – Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean, Tumbled Glass, Mermaid Lagoon, Broken China, Evergreen Bough and Brushed Corduroy

Dragon – Pull My Finger Slider Card

Hi There!

I made this fun card using the High Hopes Rubber Stamps – S222 – Dragon Finger a while back, but never got around to posting it. LOL! So here it is now.

As soon as I saw this stamp set I knew that I had to have it to make my dad a card with. When we were little, he would always tell us to pull his finger and then he would toot!!!! LOL! He would then laugh at our disgusted looks. But it always brings back fond memories. He’s older now and still hasn’t changed. LOL! I think that’s why we love him so much. Our dad has always had a great sense of humour.

I used the stamps to create a slider card. On the front center panel I used the dragon the first sentiment from the same stamp set.

Here is a close-up:

On the right panel, I used the sentiment from the stamp set “Pull My Finger”

On the left panel, is the result of the question and answer from the first 2 panels. Just look at the big grin on his face. Just like my dad’s.

Here is a close-up:

Put all 3 panels together and this is what it looks like when you pull it in both directions.

My dad loved his card and I hope that you do too!

Stamped images using Memento – Tuxedo Black onto Copic Marker X-Press Blending Cardstock.

Coloured dragon with Spectrum Noir Markers.

Main body – LG2, LG3, LG5

Belly – CG1, DG2, DG4

Humps, horns and spots – LV1, LV2

Flames- CT3, OR1, OR2, OR3

Die Cuts:

Clouds – Avery Elle – Custom Steel Dies – Made in the USA – D-05-01 PiercedCloudsDie

Kit and Clowder – November 2016 Markers Class

Hi There,

Sharing with you my finished Christmas card after completing the November Markers class from Kit and Clowder. Image is called “North Pole” by Polkadoodles.

kc-nov2016-markers

Here is a close-up.

kc-nov2016-markerscu

For this project I used all Copic markers. Alyce from Kit and Clowder also teaches you how to use alternative markers as well. Which I really love, since I also have the full Spectrum Noir collection.

I had a lot of fun doing this class as it taught me a lot of new techniques. I especially loved learning how to colour the snow as I love making wintery scened Christmas cards. 🙂

Also, loved learning how to do the sky.

To frame the image I used Craftin Desert Diva’s Fancy Frames. One of my all time favourites. Then used Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mermaid Lagoon to go around the border to deepen the colour.

Added in a little glitter to the snowy roofs and snow on the ground, just because I love sparkle. LOL!

Hope you like it!
