Super Chunky – The East Wind Card

Hi There,

This sweet little image is from The East Wind called Super Chunky. They were offering it as part of the celebration going on at Kit and Clowder.

There is also a contest, which I will be entering the 10,000 Party – Colouring Challenge TEW on Kit and Clowder Facebook page.

Loved this image as soon as I saw it!!! Reminded me so much of my sweet little girl “Boo”.  As many of you know, I make cards for my vet for practically every occasion from “Boo” and the staff and vet love receiving them. (They’ve actually kept every card I’ve made for them and display them!!!) LOL! Does make me feel really good though! Thought this would be perfect for a Thanksgiving card this year from her, resting after a nice big meal.

I coloured this image using Spectrum Noir Markers and then added in a few shadows with PrismaColor Premier coloured pencils.

Bee Tag

Hi There,

Sharing a tag I made for the Challenge at JessicaLynn Original called Challenge #5 – Create Your Best Tag.

Bee-Tag

I work with a lady who is a beekeeper. I thought this would be perfect to give her the next time I purchase some more fresh honey. MMMMM, it is sooo good!!!

To make the tag, I used the bee from JessicaLynn Original Big Fat Bumble Bee digi. I sized it multiple times and arranged their position using Microsoft Word and then printed it out to colour.d

Used Spectrum Noir markers to colour bee and then added a little yellow texture with PrismaPremier coloured pencil.

The sentiment is from Craftin Desert Diva’s “Just Because” Stamps for “Buzzing by….” and “to say”. (I covered up the “hi” with tape before I stamped it.

The sentiment “Thank You!” is from My Creative Time – Hey There Little Lady.

For the tag, I used the tag die from SpellBinders “Tags and Flags” – S5-095 and shortened it.

Coloured around the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mustard Seed and a little dauber.

Finished it off with some black and yellow ribbon.

Valentine’s Card for Parents

Hi There,

Back to share another card that I made for Valentine’s Day. Since my parents live so far away, I thought these 2 digi stamps from Craftin Desert Diva’s would be perfect for a simple little Valentine’s card for them.

I brought the 2 digi’s into Microsoft Word and then duplicated them 3 more times for a total of 4 images each. This allowed me to fussy cut the images after colouring the various parts and then layer them to give the characters some depth. I printed the images out onto “100% Recycle Paper, Robert Bateman, Cover Series, Artist Quality Sketchbook” paper and then used PrismaColor Premier Pencils and Gamsol blending medium to colour the images. I highlighted the eyes with Gelly Roll Sakura #8 Pen and the noses with Gelly Roll Sakura #6 Pen. A touch of Clear – Wink of Stella on the small hearts.

The 2 digis that I used were:

On the Front: “Little Lovelies Bear with Mailbox”

VPSFront

Here is a closer look.

VPSCloseUp

I embossed the “Happy Valentine’s Day” with Versamark and Ranger Embossing Powder – Rich Red.

On the inside is the digi called: “Little Lovelies Love Letter Bear”.

I think the first photo shows off the layers better. This is the same image. Just shown at 2 different angles.

Here is the close up.

For the background paper I used K&Company 2-sided Valentine’s paper. I cut it out with Spellbinders Postage Stamps S4-348 and my Sizzix BigKick machine.

The little sentiment on the front is also from K&Company.

Hope you like it!

Mother’s Day Card 2015

Hi There,

Sharing a card I made for my mom this year using Craftin Desert Divas Rain or Shine stamps and Sentiments.

I used my watercolour pencils to do the background. Then I used my Cricut Explore to cut out all of the hearts, mom and red puddle.

The red puddle is supposed to represent a puddle of love. I thought the hearts went with the sentiment for raining down love.

Mother's Day 2015 300 dpi0005

Here’s a closer look of the little girl. I coloured her in with my Prismacolor Premier Pencils and then blended with Gamsol.

I used my Gelly Roll Pen 08 for the eyes.

For the blue puddle, I cut out the puddle with my Cricut Explore and then added Glossy Accents. I also paper pierced the pattern in the umbrella and added a few small hearts.

Lastly, I wrote this poem for my mom on the inside. Thought I’d share it with everyone.

Valentine’s Card for my Hubby

“Hi There,

Liked to share the card I made for my husband this year with you.

Forever Yours

For the front of the card, I used a design that I found in “Complete Cardmaking – Making Beautiful Cards with your PC” magazine.

The original design by Nancy Malaka can be found on page 27 and is called “Forever Yours”.

I uploaded the .jpg from the CD into Cricut Design Studio for the couple and then used the “Print and Cut” feature to print the image to my printer and then Cricut Explore to cut my image for me. Love this new feature!

Next, I used my Copic and Spectrum Noir markers to colour the image. PrismaColor Premier Pencils were used for creating more contrast and shadow.

Using Cricut Design Studio, I used the following cartridges:

Background: Paper Lace II – Gears

Lettering: Cricut Alphabet

Clock: Picturesque – Clockface Circle Card Seal

Clock Hands: Gypsy Wanderings – Clock Hand

Heart design: Elegant Edges – Heart Scallop Design Label

Scalloped Rectangles – Elegant Edges – Heart Rectangle Design Label (Removed Heart with Design Studio)

The following papers were used:

Scrap paper for wood background.

Light brown for gears background and went around edges with Walnut Stain Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Ink.

Greyish Blue was used for large scalloped label behind clock.

Newspaper cardstock for smaller scalloped label behind clock and went around edges with Walnut Stain Ranger Tim Holtz Distress Ink.

For the inside of the card:

Todd Valetine 2015

I stamped the images using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and Peachy Keen stamps from PKS-04 April 2012 for the clocks and sentiments. Cutting them after they were coloured.

The faces are from PKS-1357 Sweet on You Face Assortment.

Background paper is from K&C Company Kelly Panacci designer paper, KP  Valentine.

Copics and Spectrum Noir pens to colour faces and hearts in background.

Some pink chalk to colour cheeks.

Hillbilly Holler sick bedHillbilly Holler Candle

To the left is the front of the card. On the bottom is the inside of the card.

For both cards, I stamped the images using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto special cardstock used for Copics, Spectrum Noir and Prismacolor Pencils.

Next I coloured both images in with Prismacolor Premier coloured pencils and then used some Gamsol and blending stumps to blend the colours.

Lastly, I stamped both of the sentiments from the same stamp collection.

Hope you like it!
