Christmas Kitty Fun!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a Christmas card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Christmas Kitty Fun – S107 for the main image and Merry Christpaws – FLL006 for the sentiment. Our cats could never resist playing with our Christmas wrapping paper and playing in the boxes. I can’t even begin to count how many cardboard boxes they demolished over the years! LOL! Wishing you and all of your pets a very safe and joyous Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of 6″ x 6″ using AC Cardstock – White. I thought this patterned paper from Craft Smart – Hot Buy called Happy Pawlidays went perfect with this image and sentiment.

The image was stamped using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock and Lawn Fawn – Let It Shine Snowflakes patterned paper. I coloured in the image and then fussy cut around it. With a black marker, I inked around the outside of the image.  I ran the patterned paper through my Xyron Creative Station to make it like a sticker and then fussy cut around the gift paper and paper pieced it onto the coloured image. The entire image was then adhered to the card using liquid glue. I removed the backing from the remainder of the gift portions and applied them directly to the card base as well. A few extra white and sparkly dots were added onto the patterned gift paper using a Gelly Roll Sakura #8 Pen and Gelly Roll Stardust – Clear pen. Stickles – Diamond was applied to the hat, pompom, snowflakes and dots on the background patterned paper to add some extra sparkle.

Using my MISTI and VersaMark ink, I stamped the sentiment onto a scrap piece of red cardstock. Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail was applied over top of the ink and then heat set with a Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. This was die cut using my Cuttlebug and Pink & Main – Large Sentiment Strip Dies. The sentiment was popped up onto the top of the card using U-Line double-sided tape. Lastly, I glued on some embellishment buttons after removing the backings from Dress It Up – Holiday Collection – Itty Bitty Snowflakes and Dress It Up – Holiday Collection – Glitter Holly. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Barn Door was inked around the outside edges of the card with a sponge dauber to finish it off.

AHH – 60!!

Sharing a birthday card I made for a friend using Art ImpressionsAHH Set – A4671 and Rock On Laugh Lines – 5422. I was late getting this birthday card out to my friend as usual and this face says it all. LOL!

To make the card, I began with the base of 8.5″ x 7″ Hammermill – Premium Colour cardstock, scored and folded to the size of 8.5″ x 3.5″. Using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, the images were stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Cardstock and coloured in with Copic Markers. Once the images were coloured, I fussy cut around them both. For the blouse, I stamped the image again onto DCWV – Pocket Blossom paper and paper-pierced it onto the image after I had run it through my Xyron Create a Sticker. For the image on the front page, a black marker was used to outline all of the edges.

For the front of the card, I die cut 3 balloons using my Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine, Concord & 9th – Pop-Up Par-Tay dies and Pergamano Parchment Paper – Rainbow Pastel and 1 balloon out of a spare piece of patterned paper to use for the inside of my card. The numbers were cut from Recollections – Black cardstock using my cutting machine and Lawn Fawn Lawn Cuts – Henry’s 123s. To create the background, I used multiple Tim Holtz Distress inks listed below, multiple brushes and Lawn Fawn – Confetti Stencils to create the background on the base card front.  The sentiment was stamped with a MISTI, Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and then embossed with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder. Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat the embossing powder. Then, I fussy cut around it.

The front of the card was now ready to assemble. I ran each of the numbers through my Xyron Create a Sticker and the balloons through my Xyron Creative Station. The numbers were then placed onto the balloons. I attached the first 2 balloons to the card and then drew in the strings with a black marker. I then added the last balloon and drew another string. A white pencil was used to create a bit of glow along the left side of the balloons. After attaching U-Line double-sided tape to the back of the sentiment and the image, I popped them up onto the front of the card.

Inside of the card:

For the inside of the card, I used Rock On Laugh Lines – 5422 – Art Impressions, Dance It Out Set – 5278 – Art Impressions, Be Happy Laugh Lines – 5279 – Art Impressions for the sentiments. I cut out 3 sentiment bubbles using Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine, Spellbinders – Die D-Lites Conversation Bubble 3 Etched Dies out of white cardstock. I stamped each of sentiments using a MISTI, Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and then embossed with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder. Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat the embossing powder. I ran each of the sentiment bubbles and my image through my Xyron Creative Station.

The inside of the card was now ready to assemble. I placed the 1 bubble sentiment at the top of the card and then using my image as a guide for placement, I attached the patterned balloon to the card first. The image was attached on top of it and then I added the bottom bubble sentiment. Lastly, I placed the final bubble sentiment to the card in between the other top 2 bubble sentiments to complete the card.

Thankfully, she loved her card and I hope you do too!

Boo Pals!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a Hallowe’en card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Boo Pals – SS007 for the image and Boo-tiful Day – E233 for the sentiment. Hallowe’en is now only a few months away! Wow! Where has this year gone? Time seems to be flying by so fast!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. I cut the background paper from Recollections – Black cardstock to be the same size as the base card and attached it using double-sided tape. Using My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers and my Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine, I die cut Doodlebug – Pumpkin Party cardstock. I just love these little ghosts. With a finger dauber and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Villainous Potion, I inked around all of the edges of the die cut. U-Line double-side tape was applied to the back of this piece and I popped it up onto the base card. Using the same cutting machine, I die cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock using Nestabilities Dies – Deckled Rectangles – Large.

I stamped the main image onto the Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card die cut using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and coloured it in. I created my own moon shape using a 2″ circle mask that I had created earlier with a Fiskars hand punch. The eyes and nose for the cat and ghost were added in using a Sakura Glaze – Black pen. I ran the coloured image through my Xyron Creative Station and attached it to Recollections – Black cardstock. I didn’t have a larger die of the same shape, so I put the piece that I had adhered together into my Brother Scan ‘N Cut and created a .08″ border around it. This created the small black border to make the image pop. The sentiment was stamped onto a scrap piece of Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and then it was die cut using my cutting machine and Poppystamps – Christmas Quotes. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Wilted Violet and a finger dauber were used to go around the die cut.

The card was now ready to assemble. I added U-Line double-sided tape to the back of the frame and sentiment and popped them both up onto the card to finish it off.

I stamped the sentiment onto the white cardstock using Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI. Using my die cutting machine again and Waffle Flower – Nesting Square dies, I die cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I stamped the image onto it using Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI.

The image was coloured in with Copic markers and then I added snow to the sky using a Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen. For the hat trim and pop-pom, I added Cosmic Shimmer Fluffy Stuff and heated it with my Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool to puff up the liquid. I put a little bit of Stickles – Diamond onto my finger and dabbed it across the trim and pom-pom to give them an extra bit of sparkle. Lastly, I added some Stickles – Diamond to the snow. When the Stickles was all dry, I adhered the image to Signature Collection by Sara Davies – Glittering Snowflakes cardstock with double-sided tape and some glue. Using my cutter, I cut a slim border around the image. I ran the sentiment through my Xyron Creative Station and adhered it to the larger die cut. Year of the Tiger – 2022!!

Today, I’m sharing the Chinese New Year cards using stamps called Safari Digital Stamp – PickledPotpourriDigi and Cute Tiger – AlexShopsArt. Every year, I enjoy make cards and sending them out to my friends here and overseas hoping to bring them some happiness in bringing in the New Year!

To make this card I first imported the images into Microsoft Word. I sized the tiger for the front of the card and created my sentiment and then added the “Cute Tiger” for the inside of the card. I printed out 8 copies of each onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in all of the images with Copic Markers and then I fussy cut around all of the tiger faces for the front of the card. The inside of the card was die cut using My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies and my Cuttlebug. The letters and numbers were cut using my Cricut Explore and Crafter’s Companion – Luxury Cardstock – Gold cardstock. I ran all of these through my Xyron Create a Sticker and my Xyron Creative Station.

To assemble the card, I used Hot Buy – Reds – Cards and Envelopes (5.5″ x 4.25″) for my base. I placed the words and numbers onto the front of the card and added in the Tiger face in place of the “0”. I applied double-sided tape to the backs of the coloured images die-cut previously for the inside of  the card and adhered it directly to the base.

Altogether, I made 8 individual cards this year.

Thank you KLM Designs for sponsoring us. Today, I’m sharing a card I made using KLM Designs –  Owl and Sentiments. I really love your adorable images and working with them.

The base was created with AC Cardstock – White cut and folded to the size of 6″ x 6″. I cut the background paper from My Mind’s Eye – Hootenanny designer paper to be the same size as the background and applied it to the base using double-sided tape. From the same paper pack, I cut a piece of the designer paper to the size of 6″ x 1″ and glued this on top of the background at the bottom of the card. I cut a piece of Recollections – Brown cardstock to the size of 6″ x 5/8″ and applied that above the wording on the bottom of the card. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Rusty Hinge was used to ink around all of the edges of the card.

The image and sentiment were both imported into Microsoft Word and printed out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The image was coloured in with Copic markers and then I fussy cut around it and the sentiment. I applied Sakura Glaze – Black to the eyes and Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen for the highlights. With a FolkArt 1837 – Perfect Liner #1 and Copic Opaque White I added in some white onto the wings. I ran the image through my Xyron Creative Station and the sentiment through my Xyron Create a Sticker and applied them to Recollections – Brown cardstock and Recollections – Black cardstock. Then I fussy cut around the 2 again. I popped them up onto the card using U-Line double-sided tape to complete the card.

Be-Lated Birthday Chicks!!

Sharing a belated birthday card I made for my sister-in-law using Art Impressions – Spring Chicken Set – AiCS40. I really had fun with these cool Chicks! LOL!

Inside of the card.

To make the card, I began with the base of 5.5″ x 4.25″ Hammermill – Premium Colour cardstock. My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies and my Cuttlebug were used to die cut Echo Park Paper Co. – My Favorite Winter paper. I just loved this paper and thought it had the look of barn board for the chicken coop. Double-sided tape was applied to the back of the background paper and it was applied directly to the base card. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Aged Mahagony was used to ink around all of the edges of the card. Using Lifestyle Crafts Cutting Dies – Nesting Circles dies, I die cut 1 large circle from black cardstock and 1 smaller circle from Doodle Bug Designs Inc. – Down on the Farm paper. I inked around the smaller circle with the same Tim Holtz ink. I applied the 2 circles together using double-sided tape and then added 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the back of the larger circle and attached it to the background. The speech bubble was die cut with Spellbinders Die D-Lites – Conversation Bubble 4 and my Cuttlebug.

Using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, the images were stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Cardstock and coloured in with Copic Markers. Once everything was coloured, I fussy cut around both images. I popped up the image on the front with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape and ran the second image through my Xyron Creative Station to make a sticker out of it and placed it on the inside of the card. All of the sentiments were stamped with Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and then embossed with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder. Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Too heated the powder. The sentiment bubble was popped up onto the front of the card with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

The Happy Couple!!

Today, I’m sharing a card that I made using the image from The Paper Shelter called The Happy Couple. I made this card for a colleague who was married recently. Here’s wishing the happy couple a very long and happy marriage!

To make the card, I first imported the image into Microsoft Word and then printed it out on my HP Printer using High Quality Grayscale. The image was printed onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in the image using Copic markers and then fussy cut around it.

Using my Cuttlebug, Spellbinders – S6-138 dies, and I die cut Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. 5 times for the layers and twice for the sides. For the front of the card, I die cut Crafts Pearl Papers – 02-3081416 with the same dies. For the grass, I die-cut Lawn Fawn – Shadow Box Card Park Add-On and Lawn Fawn – Simple Grassy Hillsides using Momenta – Cardstock. Lastly, I die-cut the flag banner using Crafter’s Companion – Luxury Cardstock – Navy Blue and Craftin Desert Diva’s – Flag Banner Dies and the sentiment was die cut 5 times with Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock and once with Hot Buy Craft Smart – Holiday Glitz Glitter Paper using PaperCrafter Today – 15 Die Cut Sentiment Set.

For the back panel using stencils I had made previously out of Avery Elle – Pierced Clouds Dies, I coloured in the sky using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean and Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Broken China. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mowed Lawn was used to colour in the grass. The card was now ready to put together. I started with the coloured background and added the coloured image to it using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

This was adhered to the side panels using double-side tape on both sides.  Working from back to front, I added on the next layer and applied the grass die cut to front of the layer. This was put through the tabs on the side. I added in the next layers in the same manner. A layer with more grass was added to the 4th layer. I added in the next layer and then for the very front I once again cut off the tabs on both sides and then attached it to the sides using double-sided tape. The banner was then added using glue. The paper for the sentiment had been put through my Xyron Creative Station prior to cutting it. This made it easy to peel of the back of the stickers for each layer and assembling them on top of each other. I used the white layers for the bottom of the sentiment and for the final piece, I used the gold. A small jewel dot was used to finish off the dotted “i”.

Card Recipe:

Inks: HP Printer Grayscale, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean, Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Broken China, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mowed Lawn

Just a Note!!

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Designs – Birdhouse #1 from the new June release for the image and sentiment. This image also comes with 2 other sentiments: “Welcome To The Neighbourhood” and “Thinking of You”.

To make the card, I first imported the image and the sentiment into Microsoft Word. I printed out the image and sentiment onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and a second copy of the image onto copy paper using my HP Printer. I coloured in the image with Copic markers and then fussy cut around the image on the copy paper to create a mask using my Brother Scan and Cut.

The rectangles were die cut using My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers. I fussy cut around the sentiment and inked around the yellow rectangle and sentiment with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Fossilized Amber. I placed the mask over the coloured image and added in my clouds using some stencils that I created previously using Avery Elle – Pierced Clouds Die (D-05-01) and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mowed Lawn was added for the base background of the lawn.

To assemble the card, I began with a base card of The Paper Studio – Primary Simply Solids (4.25″ x 5.5″). I ran all of the elements through my Xyron Creative Station to create stickers out of them and so that they would lay completely flat when assembled. I added all of the layers directly to the base card. To finish it off, I added some CC Designs – Dragon Dreams Enamel Dots.

Card Recipe:

Fairy Garden!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I’m sharing a card I made from the High Hopes Rubber Stamps “Mix It Up Release”  using Fairy Garden – TT141 for the main image and Leave Room – LL015 for the sentiment! I love movies and reading books about Fantasy! It’s always so much fun to get lost in the moment, just like these little fairies are enjoying their little magical garden!

To make my card this week, I started out with a base card using AC Cardstock – White at the size of 6″ x 6″. I thought this paper by Graphic45 – Unique Papercrafting – Fairie Dust Collection – Moonlit Blooms went so well with the sentiment and the garden, so I die-cut it using my Couture Creations – Go Power and Emboss and Creative Expression Craft Dies by Sue Wilson – Noble Dies – Double Pierced Squares – Set B. I used double-sided tape and attached it directly to the base.

The image and sentiment were both stamped using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured in the image with Copic markers and then fussy cut around it and the sentiment. I ran both pieces through my Xyron Creative Station to make them into stickers and so that they would lie completely flat when I attached them to some pieces of Recollections – Black cardstock. Once again, I fussy cut around the coloured image and sentiment. 3M VHB – 2 sided tape was attached to the backs of the image and sentiment and were applied directly to the background of the card to finish it off.

Just Bee-Cause!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Hunny Bear – Q021 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Just Bee Cause – G055 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. This little bear really loves his honey and so do I. We always went to the local farms or farmer’s market when it was open to buy pure unpasteurized honey. Now during Covid, we purchase it from the stores that they supply. Honey goes so well with tea too and has so many fantastic health benefits! Yum! Yum! So good! LOL!

To make my card this week, I started with a base of 5.5″ x 4.25″ using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. paper. Using a Picket Fence – Blending Brush I created the background using Tim Holtz Distress Inks: Fossilized Amber, Mustard Seed, Scattered Straw and Wild Honey. I cut 2 pieces of golden yellow cardstock and put them through my Xyron Creative Station to make them into stickers. Then, I ran them through my Cuttlebug using Memory Box – Honeycomb Corner die. This made it very easy to adhere the die cuts to the base card. Using Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, and my Cuttlebug, I die cut the bee-hive with Memory Box – Honey Bee Skep die. I used Copic Markers to colour the die cut and then using a small piece of Scotch Tape, I put the door back into place. Then I used 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to pop it up onto the base of the card.

I stamped my image using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Cardstock and the sentiment onto Yellow Cardstock. I coloured in the image using Copic markers and then fussy cut around it. I used a black marker to go around all of the edges of the coloured image. Using my cutter, I cut around the sentiment and then ink around all of the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Wild Honey. Using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape, I attached the coloured image and sentiment to the base. Then I used, Copics Y17 and Y15 to create a shadow below the bee-hive and image.

To finish off the card I assembled some of the small die-cut pieces from the honeycomb in various parts of my card and added some little bees using Buttons Galore & More – Sprinkletz Embellishments – Bumble Bees. Also, I added some Ranger Glossy Accents to the honey seeping over the lid of the jar.
