Cat & Mouse Party!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a birthday card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Cat & Mouse Party – TDG036 for the image and Dot Happy Birthday To You! – F065 for the sentiment. These animals are ready to party, are you?

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of AC Cardstock – White paper cut and scored to be 6″ x 6″. Using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out, I die cut 3 squares out of Doodlebug Design Inc. – Fairy Tales, Recollections – Spring Inks paper and Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I also used Doodlebug Design Inc. – Fairy Tales 6″ x 6″ paper for my main background. I applied this directly to the base card using double-sided tape. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Evergreen Bough and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Picked Raspberry were both used to go around the edges of the die-cut paper. I applied U-Line double-sided tape to the backs of the aqua coloured square and patterned paper and popped them both up onto the background.

The image and sentiment were both stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my MISTI – Most Incredible Stamping Tool and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. The image was coloured in with Copic Markers. I die cut the sentiment using my Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine and My Creative Time – Stitched Zig Zag Ties. Copic marker RV06 was used to go around the edges. I attached the coloured image to Recollections – Spring Inks paper using double-sided tape and then cut a slim border around the image. I applied U-Line double-sided tape to the back of this piece and popped it up into the centre of the patterned square. 4 layers of U-Line double-sided tape were attached to the back of the sentiment on the bottom portion and liquid glue was applied to the top. I popped this up onto the card at the bottom. Lastly, to finish the card off, I applied Creative Impressions – Metallic Balloon Brads by adding 2 layers of U-Line double-sided tape. I popped them onto the sentiment and the card and drew in some string for the balloons. Stickles – Star Dust was added to the cake and confetti.

Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Blueprint Sketch was then inked around all of the edges. I add some U-Line double-sided tape and popped it up onto the base card. Again, using my Empress die cutter, I die cut some golden yellow cardstock using My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out. Waffle Flower – Nesting Square dies were used to die cut the smaller square out of Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and My Creative Time – Bunch of Fun Circle Die was used to die cut the circle from some Red cardstock.

Lucky Dog!!

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Design –  Fido’s Home from the new January 2022 release. We grew up having dogs in our family. They were all spoiled and loved very much! They may have thought they were the lucky ones, but deep down, I think we were.

I created the base using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock to the size of 5.5″ x 4.25″. For the background, I used Kraftin’ Kimmie – Pawprints Stencil, a Picket Fence – Blending Brush and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Pumice Stone to create the paw prints. For the hearts, I used the same stencil, a small foam brush and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Barn Door. With my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Stitched Squares Inside and Out, I die cut the red square from Forever In Time – Texture Rouge cardstock.

I imported the image and sentiment into Microsoft Word and printed them out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I die cut the image using Waffle Flower – Nesting Square dies and the sentiment with My Creative Time – Stitched Zig Zag Ties. I inked around the edges of the sentiment die cut with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Barn Door and popped it up onto the base card using U-Line double-sided tape. The image was coloured in with Copic markers and the sky was created with Lawn Fawn – Cloudy Stencil and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean and a mixture of Copic blue markers. The completed image was popped up onto the base card using U-Line double-sided tape to finish it off.

Beautiful Day!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Winter Kitty – SDG006  for the main image and Beautiful Day – FDG013 for the sentiment. We just had a major snowfall over the last few days and this little kitty is all bundled up and ready to play!

Growing up we had a lot of snow during the winter and couldn’t wait to put on our mitts and snow boots and go out to play. We had huge snow banks in the schoolyard across the street and would toboggan down them or just slide down in our snow suits! LOL! It was sooooo much fun! Sometimes we even made big snow forts in the backyard with tables and chairs made out of ice and snow. We hardly spent anytime indoors and didn’t usually go back into the house until we had to or we were turning blue because it was so cold out, but even then we still wanted to continue playing outdoors. LOL!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″.  I used Scrapbook.com – Rainbow Smooth Cardstock for the main background paper. It was already the same size as the base, so no cutting had to be done. To get more use out of the same paper, I had cut the oval frame using my Cuttlebug and Hero Arts – Infinity Die Ovals first. Then, I placed the Rainbow cardstock onto the card base using double-sized tape. I die cut the square background using My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out and Pebbles – Winter Wonderland paper and the rectangle to the size of 4″ x 4″. The rectangle was cut from from the same paper pack to the size of 1.25″ x 4″. I inked around the edges of both shapes with a sponge dauber and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Evergreen Bough. Using double-sided tape, I placed both shapes over the pink background and hid where I cut the oval with the square. I cut out a smaller oval using the same Hero Arts – Infinity Die Ovals and Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I also cut out a 1.5″ circle using a circle punch. Lastly, I die cut the scalloped circle using WeR Memory Keepers – Quickutz Nesting Scallops dies and Hot Buy Craft Smart – Holiday Glitz Glitter Paper.

With my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the image onto the Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock oval and the sentiment onto the circle. I coloured in the image with Copic markers and then added some Ranger – Emboss It Pen Clear to the bottom of the oval and applied WOW! Sparkling Snow Embossing Glitter. I heat embossed this and added more embossing powder several times to create a thicker layer with my Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. Then I added some Cosmic Shimmer Fluffy Stuff and heat embossed it as well to puff it up. Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen was used to create the snow in the sky. The patterned background paper from Crafts – Designer Paper was cut to the size of 5.5″ x 5.5″ and popped up using U-Line double-sided tape. The smaller square was die cut from Recollections – Purple Passions paper using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out to the size of 4″ x 4″. This was popped up using U-Line double-sided tape onto the centre of the last square. Lastly, Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card was die cut using Spellbinders Nestabilities – Square Swatches for the image and My Creative Time Dies – Stiched Decorative Banners for the sentiment. The image and sentiment were both stamped onto the die cuts using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I inked around the edges of the sentiment with some purple ink that was still left on my blending brush from a previous project I had worked on. Then it was popped up onto the card using U-Line double-sided tape. Lastly, the image was coloured in with Copic markers and I created some writing on the sewing machine to represent various stitch patterns using a Gelly Roll Sakura #5 Pen. Pental Sunburst Metalic Med Gel Pen – Silver pen was used for the needle holder and the foot on the sewing machine. Once, this was all completed, I applied the image to the centre of the smallest square using double-sided tape to complete the card.

Then I added Stickles – Diamond to the lady’s cuffs, dress trim, hat and collar and Stickles – Icicle to the man’s hat, pompom, collar, cuffs and trim on his coat. I also added this to the boy’s pompoms. Using the Pïlot Silver Marker – Medium Point pen, I traced around the outside of the circle for the sentiment.

Once everything on the image was dry, I applied double-sided tape to the back of it and applied the image to the top of the dark green layer. 3M VHB – 2 sided tape was added to the back of the sentiment and ornament ball. Good Times!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Joy Ride – TT002 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Good Times – GLL006 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Christmas is always a wonderful time to gather with family and friends. Thinking of snow right now is also a way to cool down with all of this summer heat too! LOL!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base made from AC White Cardstock cut and scored to be 6″ x 6″. I chose Echo Park Paper Co. – My Favorite Winter (6″ x 6″) for my background paper and trimmed just a little off of the sides. Then, I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Blueprint Sketch and inked around all of the edges. I added some glue to the back of the paper and applied it to the base card. Using My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out, I die cut a larger square from Recollections – Burgundy cardstock and a smaller square from Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I inked around the edges of the larger square with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Aged Mahagony and applied 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the back of it and applied to the background. I die cut the sentiment label with My Creative Time – Stitched Rectangular Frames Dies and More. The image and sentiment were then applied using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I applied Stickles – Unicorn around the edges of the label and set it aside to dry.

I coloured in the image with copic markers. Then I added Stickles – Eucalyptus to the lady’s cuff and collar and Stickles – Crystal to her hat and pompom. For the man, I applied Nuvo Glitter Accents – Fresh Snowfall to his hat and pompom. Lastly, I added some Brutus Monroe – Snow Paste using a spatula to the bottom outer edge of the image to represent a snow bank on the side of the road. Using a Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen, Gelly Roll Sakura #5 Pen, Glitter Glue Pen and DecoArt Glamour Dust, I created the snowy background. Gelly Roll Sparkle Pen was used to colour in the Holly on the wreath.

Once everything on the image was dry, I applied some glue to the back of it and applied it directly on top of the larger square. I applied some glue and some 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the sentiment and applied that on an angle at the top of the card. I only put the tape in a few spots so that it would be the same height as the image. To finish off the card, I added some CC Designs – Dragon Dreams Enamel Dots on to the sentiment and some sequence.

Sharing the first image and sentiment from KLM Digital Designs today from the new February release called Dinosaur Collection. Love this collection and the images are great for masculine cards too! Today, I’m sharing Floral Window 1 from KLM Digital Designs January Release. The image comes with 3 different sentiments, “You’re so Sweet”, “You’re the Best” and “Happy Birthday”. To make the card, I printed out the image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. I coloured in the image with Copic markers and then I used my Brother Scan ‘N Cut to cut around the image. A black marker was used to go around all of the edges of the flower and outer leaf. The image frame was coloured in with Sharpie – Gold Medium Point – Water Based Paint.

For the base card, Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. was folded to the size of 5.5″ x 5.5″. I cut Heartfelt Creations – Winter’s Eve Collection paper to the same size as the base card. I inked around the edges with Sharpie – Gold Medium Point – Water Based Paint and adhered it directly to the base using double-sided tape. Hot Buy Craft Smart – Holiday Glitz Glitter Paper was die cut with my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out and attached with double-sided tape. The main image was popped up using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. A little bit of Stickles – Yellow was added to the centre of the flower and some dots were added to finish off the card.

Mistletoe Santa Gnome!!

Today, I’m sharing another super adorable gnome from KLM Digital Designs November release called Mistletoe Santa Gnome. The image comes with 3 different sentiments, “Merry Christmas”, which I’ve used on my card and also, “Believe” and “ho-ho-ho”. This Santa gnome is out taking a stroll and enjoying the magic of Christmas and winter.

I decided to colour this Santa in non-traditional colours. To make the card, I printed out the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around the image and coloured it in with Copic markers. Then I applied Nuvo Glitter Accents – Fresh Snowfall to the all of the trimming and set it aside to dry.

I used AC White paper to create the base shape of the card 6″ x 6″. Then I applied Stampin’ Up – Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper cut to the same size directly to the base. I had a spare cut-out from American Crafts – “Holiday” paper in which I had used My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out to die cut the centre. I trimmed it a little bit on all sides to create a border. I took a small scrap of Recollections – Christmas Inkjet Printable Glitter Paper and tore it across the top to imitate snow caps. This I adhered to the back of the die-cut panel. Then, I glued the entire piece down on to the background. I also made sure that I didn’t use any glue towards the tops of the snow.

The sentiment was brought into Microsoft Word and I adjusted the width to be .95″. This allowed me to use the 1″ die from Lifestyle Crafts Cutting Dies – Nesting Circles to die cut the sentiment after it was printed out. I inked around the edges of the sentiment with Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Peacock Feathers and applied Clear – Wink of Stella over top of it to make it sparkle. The snowflakes were all die cut from Signature Collection by Sara Davies – Winter Wonderland Snowflake Quartet.

The remainder of the card was now ready to put together. I glued the Gnome directly to the background paper and moved it slightly under the snow. I added glue to each of the snowflakes and placed them directly onto the backgrounds. Lastly, I popped up the sentiment with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

Birthday Belle!

It’s Wednesday, and this week I’m sharing a CAS card featuring Birthday Belle – T076 from (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) with the sweet sentiment Bummer – H263 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps). Our birthday girl this week isn’t too keen on having another birthday to remind her how old she is, but she is still having fun blowing out all of the candles. LOL! I decided to colour her outfit and cake pink, because I remember how much my grandmother loved that colour.

To create the card this week, I stamped the main image and then coloured it in with Copic Markers. My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out die and my Cutttlebug were used to cut out the main coloured image and the hot pink background paper.

For the base card I cut some yellow cardstock 10″ long by 5″ high. It was then scored and folded in half to be 5″ x 5″. All of the edges for the base card and die-cuts were then inked around using the various Tim Holtz Distress inks listed below. I mounted the hot pink cardstock directly to the base using double-sided tape. Then the main image was popped up with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. Finally, to finish it off, I used some crafty dots by Crafts.
