Witchy and Friends!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a Hallowe’en card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Witchy & Friends – TT019 for the image and Take Flight – HH008 for the sentiment. This little witch and her crew don’t look like they could frighten anyone, but I’m sure they will have lots of fun trying! LOL!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 4.25″ x 5.5″. I cut the background to be the same size using Doodlebug Design Inc. – Ghost Town patterned paper and adhered it to the base card using double-sided tape. Doodlebug Design Inc. – Hallowe’en Parade patterned paper was cut to the size of 1-7/8″ x 5.5″ and adhered directly to the base background using double-sided tape.

I stamped the sentiment and image using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock. Using my Anna Griffin Empress Mini die-cutting Machine and Hero Arts – Infinity Die Ovals, the image was die cut. A cutter was used to cut around the sentiment. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Villainous Potion and a finger dauber were used to ink around the base card and sentiment. The image was coloured in and then I used a Sakura Glaze – Black pen for the eyes and noses on the characters. Then, I applied a small dot of Gelly Roll Sakura #8 Pen to the eyes and also to create stars in the night sky. U-Line double-sided tape was added to the back of the coloured image and sentiment and then they were both popped up onto the card. To finish it off, I added some YNS Gumdrops – Pretty Peacock Matte.

Beautiful Day!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Winter Kitty – SDG006  for the main image and Beautiful Day – FDG013 for the sentiment. We just had a major snowfall over the last few days and this little kitty is all bundled up and ready to play!

Growing up we had a lot of snow during the winter and couldn’t wait to put on our mitts and snow boots and go out to play. We had huge snow banks in the schoolyard across the street and would toboggan down them or just slide down in our snow suits! LOL! It was sooooo much fun! Sometimes we even made big snow forts in the backyard with tables and chairs made out of ice and snow. We hardly spent anytime indoors and didn’t usually go back into the house until we had to or we were turning blue because it was so cold out, but even then we still wanted to continue playing outdoors. LOL!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″.  I used Scrapbook.com – Rainbow Smooth Cardstock for the main background paper. It was already the same size as the base, so no cutting had to be done. To get more use out of the same paper, I had cut the oval frame using my Cuttlebug and Hero Arts – Infinity Die Ovals first. Then, I placed the Rainbow cardstock onto the card base using double-sized tape. I die cut the square background using My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out and Pebbles – Winter Wonderland paper and the rectangle to the size of 4″ x 4″. The rectangle was cut from from the same paper pack to the size of 1.25″ x 4″. I inked around the edges of both shapes with a sponge dauber and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Evergreen Bough. Using double-sided tape, I placed both shapes over the pink background and hid where I cut the oval with the square. I cut out a smaller oval using the same Hero Arts – Infinity Die Ovals and Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I also cut out a 1.5″ circle using a circle punch. Lastly, I die cut the scalloped circle using WeR Memory Keepers – Quickutz Nesting Scallops dies and Hot Buy Craft Smart – Holiday Glitz Glitter Paper.

With my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the image onto the Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock oval and the sentiment onto the circle. I coloured in the image with Copic markers and then added some Ranger – Emboss It Pen Clear to the bottom of the oval and applied WOW! Sparkling Snow Embossing Glitter. I heat embossed this and added more embossing powder several times to create a thicker layer with my Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. Then I added some Cosmic Shimmer Fluffy Stuff and heat embossed it as well to puff it up. Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen was used to create the snow in the sky. Sakura Glaze – Black and Gelly Roll Sakura #5 Pen were used on the eyes and nose of the cat.

I inked around the edges of the large pink oval and the circle with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Picked Raspberry. I applied the coloured image directly to the pink oval and the sentiment circle to the scalloped circle using some liquid glue. Both shapes were then popped up onto the card using U-Line double-sided tape. To completed the card and add in some extra sparkle, I applied some YNS Gumdrops – Winter Wonderland to the background patterned paper.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Winter Kitty – SDG006 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment: Beautiful Day – FDG013 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Inks: Memento – Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Evergreen Bough, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Picked Raspberry, Ranger – Emboss It Pen Clear

Die Cuts: My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out, Hero Arts – Infinity Die Ovals, WeR Memory Keepers – Quickutz Nesting Scallops, 1.5″ Circle Punch

The large oval was die cut using my Cuttlebug, Hero Arts – Infinity Die Ovals and Hot Buy – Recollections – Jewel Tones paper. This was popped up onto the square using U-Line double-sided tape.

Sharing a card I made using Clearly Whimsy Stamps – Get Well Dragons – DP1034 for a colleague that had a knee operation recently. I wanted to make a fun card to cheer him up a bit and thought this was the perfect image to make it happen.

To make the card, I stamped the image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI. I coloured in the image using Copic markers and then fussy cut around it leaving a thin white border. I stamped all of the sentiments onto black cardstock using Versamark ink and Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail powder. The embossing powders were all heated with Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. The smaller sentiments were all die cut using my Cuttlebug and Hero Arts – Infinity Die Ovals. For the background, I used my Cuttlebug and Sizzix Rounded Tags dies to die cut the background paper – Asuka Studio – Sparkly Sky and black cardstock. I die cut the grass using Lawn Fawn – Stitched Hillside Borders and Sizzix Rounded Tags. I inked the top border of the grass with Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Peeled Paint.

The card was now ready to assemble. I started with a base card of 5.5″ x 4.5″ using Hammermill – Premium Colour cardstock. I applied double-sided tape to the back of the black die cut, The patterned paper and the grass cut and applied them all directly to the card. I ran 2 of the “Ouch!” die cuts through my Xyron Create a Sticker and attached them to the top of the card.  Using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape, I popped up the image and 2 other sentiments to finish off the card.

Gardening Gnome!!

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Designs new April Release called Tulip Planter Gnome. He loves gardening and so does my husband. My husband has a real green thumb and always makes our garden and flowers look amazing! Unfortunately, I’ve never been very good with plants. I think they shrivel in fear when they see me coming!!! LOL!

To make the card, I first imported the image into Microsoft Word and printed it out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. I coloured in the image with Copic markers.

For the base card, Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. paper was used at the size of 5.5″ x 4.25″. I used Leane Creatif BV – Art.nr.35.0225 embossing folder and AC Autumn cardstock for the base background. After I embossed the paper, I used a very light sandpaper to sand off the raised elements. I cut 2 ovals using some spare cardstock using Hero Arts – Infinity Die Ovals. The outside of the smaller oval and card were inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mowed Lawn and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Forest Moss. I cut out the sentiment with my small cutter and then mounted it on top of some dark brown cardstock. Using my cutter, I created the small border. I die cut the little garden trowel with Marianne Designs Collectibles – COL1346 using silver and brown paper scraps.

To assemble the card, I mounted the embossed background directly to the base using 2-sided tape. The larger oval was glued on. The smaller oval, coloured image, and sentiment were all applied using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. Lastly, to finish off the card, I glued on the trowel and added a few YNS Gumdrops.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Tulip Planter Gnome – KLM Digital Designs

St. Patty’s Day 2021!!

Sharing this adorable image called St. Patty’s Day Gnome from KLM Digital Designs today from the new February release. My grandmother and her family migrated from Ireland to Canada many, many years ago, so St. Patrick’s Day is extra special to our family. We even used to joke that my one Uncle looked like a Leprechaun. LOL! May the luck of the Irish be with you all this coming St. Patrick’s Day.

To make the card, I printed out the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around the image and coloured it in with Copic markers.

I used Hammermill paper to create the base shape of the card 8.5″ x 4.25″. I scored the paper at 4.25″. I opened up Microsoft Word and imported the background papers from Leska’s Digitals – St. Patrick’s Day. For the main background I sized the image to to 5.5″ x 4.25″ and then imported the sentiment from KLM Digital Designs St. Patty’s Day Gnome and gave it a green background. I brought the sentiment to the front on the main background so that it would print out in one piece. For the smaller oval, I imported the image from Leska’s Digitals – St. Patrick’s Day papers and sized it to 4.25″ x 3.5″.

For the inside of the card, I imported the papers image and then sized it at 5.25″ x 4″. I drew a white rectangle at 4.75″x3.5″ and placed it over top of the background. I imported the images for the 2 KLM sentiments St. Patty’s Day Gnome and brought them to the front within Microsoft Word. I also added a small square with a larger shamrock. Then I printed out everything on my printer.

I used Hero Arts – Infinity Die Ovals to die cut the background oval and green oval on the front of the card. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Forest Moss was used to ink around all of the edges of the card and the ovals. Using double sided tape, I attached the large background directly to the base of the card and the sentiment print out to the inside of the card. I fussy cut around the large shamrock, applied some glue to the back of it and attached it to the inside of the card.

I ran the small oval through my Xyron Creative Station to make it a sticker and then attached it directly to the larger oval. To complete the card, I applied 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the back of the large oval and coloured image and then popped them both up on the front of the card.

Card Recipe:

Stamp and Sentiments: St. Patty’s Day (KLM Digital Designs)

Inks: HP Printer Grayscale, HP Printer – Colour, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Forest Moss

Paper: Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb., Leska’s Digitals – St. Patrick’s Day
