American Flag Gnome

Today is Thursday and I’m sharing an American Celebration card using KLM Digital DesignAmerican Flag Gnome from the new April 2023 release. This image also comes with 2 more sentiments, “Let Freedom Ring” and “Home of The Brave – America”.

Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock was used to create a 5.5″ x 4.25″ card base. I found some navy blue cardstock with stars from my scrap stash and thought it went perfect with this card. I cut it to be the same size as the base and adhered it directly to base card. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Chipped Sapphire and a finger dauber were used to ink around all of the edges of the card.

The image and sentiment were imported into Microsoft Word and printed out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and 1 extra copy of the image was printed onto plain copy paper to be used for masking later. With my Cuttlebug, I die cut the image using My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers. The image was coloured in with Copic Markers listed below. I fussy cut around the image that I had cut out from the plain copy paper and adhered it to the card with some Washi tape as a mask.

Using a blender brush, I created the clouds in the sky with Avery Elle – Pierced Clouds Die (D-05-01) which I had die cut to create stencils. The lawn was created using a blender brush, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mowed Lawn and Lawn Fawn – Slimline Hillside Stencils. I also used the stencils to be a mask for adding in the pathway using a blender brush and Krafty Kolours – Sandy Shores.

Once all of the background was completed, I removed the mask from the image and created a shadow under the gnome using Copic markers E33, E31 and E30. Some of the hills were made a little bit darker using Copic marker G20.

I added U-Line double-sided tape to the back of the coloured image then popped it up onto card.

The Best Dirt!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Gordon Groundhog – R123 for the image and The Best Dirt – F221 for the sentiment. My husband loves gardening and this makes me think of him! LOL! We have a few little squirrels that like to raid his garden, eat the tomatoes and dig up the potatoes. Luckily, my husband is good natured and says he can’t get mad at them for what comes natural. We call our back yard the Stevenson’s oasis for wild animals. We have bunnies, squirrels, racoons, possums and a mole that seem to like our vegetables and sometimes we’ve even caught them sleeping up on the furniture under the Gazebo. My husband has now installed a backyard web cam so that we can now capture some of what goes on at night while we are sleeping.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb., cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. Echo Park – New Day Beautiful Blooms Paper was cut to be the same size as the base and applied using double-sided tape. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mowed Lawn and a finger dauber were used to ink around all of the edges of the card. Anna Griffin Empress Mini Cutting Machine and My Favourite Things Die-Namics – Single Stitch Line Rounded Rectangle Frames were used to die cut Stampin’ UP! – Regals Designer Series Paper, Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock.

The clouds in the sky were created using the inner part of the die-cut from the Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock and a mid-size Gina K Designs Blender Brush, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean and stencils that I created using Avery Elle – Pierced Clouds Die. Once this was done, I used regular tape to piece the outer die cut from the Stampin’ UP! – Regals Designer Series Paper and the clouds piece together from the back side. I stamped the image onto the inner frame of the Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI. Once the image was coloured, it was fussy cut around the top part of the image. I applied U-Line double-sided tape to the image and background pieces that I had joined together and popped them both up onto the card.

The sentiment was also stamped using my MISTI onto the same cardstock and then cut with a small cutting device. I ran this through my Xyron Create a Sticker and adhered it to Recollections – Black cardstock. Once again, I cut around the sentiment, leaving a slim border. U-Line double-sided tape was applied to the back of this and it was popped up onto the card. Lastly, to finish it off, I added some Doodlebug Design Inc. Braddies with Glue Dots – Mini.

Card Recipe:

AHH – 60!!

Sharing a birthday card I made for a friend using Art ImpressionsAHH Set – A4671 and Rock On Laugh Lines – 5422. I was late getting this birthday card out to my friend as usual and this face says it all. LOL!

To make the card, I began with the base of 8.5″ x 7″ Hammermill – Premium Colour cardstock, scored and folded to the size of 8.5″ x 3.5″. Using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, the images were stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Cardstock and coloured in with Copic Markers. Once the images were coloured, I fussy cut around them both. For the blouse, I stamped the image again onto DCWV – Pocket Blossom paper and paper-pierced it onto the image after I had run it through my Xyron Create a Sticker. For the image on the front page, a black marker was used to outline all of the edges.

For the front of the card, I die cut 3 balloons using my Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine, Concord & 9th – Pop-Up Par-Tay dies and Pergamano Parchment Paper – Rainbow Pastel and 1 balloon out of a spare piece of patterned paper to use for the inside of my card. The numbers were cut from Recollections – Black cardstock using my cutting machine and Lawn Fawn Lawn Cuts – Henry’s 123s. To create the background, I used multiple Tim Holtz Distress inks listed below, multiple brushes and Lawn Fawn – Confetti Stencils to create the background on the base card front.  The sentiment was stamped with a MISTI, Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and then embossed with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder. Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat the embossing powder. Then, I fussy cut around it.

The front of the card was now ready to assemble. I ran each of the numbers through my Xyron Create a Sticker and the balloons through my Xyron Creative Station. The numbers were then placed onto the balloons. I attached the first 2 balloons to the card and then drew in the strings with a black marker. I then added the last balloon and drew another string. A white pencil was used to create a bit of glow along the left side of the balloons. After attaching U-Line double-sided tape to the back of the sentiment and the image, I popped them up onto the front of the card.

Inside of the card:

For the inside of the card, I used Rock On Laugh Lines – 5422 – Art Impressions, Dance It Out Set – 5278 – Art Impressions, Be Happy Laugh Lines – 5279 – Art Impressions for the sentiments. I cut out 3 sentiment bubbles using Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine, Spellbinders – Die D-Lites Conversation Bubble 3 Etched Dies out of white cardstock. I stamped each of sentiments using a MISTI, Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and then embossed with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder. Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat the embossing powder. I ran each of the sentiment bubbles and my image through my Xyron Creative Station.

The inside of the card was now ready to assemble. I placed the 1 bubble sentiment at the top of the card and then using my image as a guide for placement, I attached the patterned balloon to the card first. The image was attached on top of it and then I added the bottom bubble sentiment. Lastly, I placed the final bubble sentiment to the card in between the other top 2 bubble sentiments to complete the card.

Thankfully, she loved her card and I hope you do too!

Toad-ally In Love!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Toad-ally In Love – M127  for the image and sentiment. I toad-ally love this sweet image because it can be used for both Valentine’s Day, an Anniversary or just to let someone know that you love them.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5″ x 5″. I used Picket Fence – Blending Brushes, Tim Holtz Distress Ink: Mowed Lawn, Crushed Olive, Peeled Paint, Festive Berries, Fired Brick and Barn Door and Lawn Fawn – Lots of Hearts Background Stencils to create my card background. Using Lawn Fawn – Valentine’s Hearts Border and my Cuttlebug, I die cut some Craft Smith – Hot Buy – Green and Forever In Time – Texture Rouge cardstock and adhered the 2 pieces together with some glue. I did this twice and then glued the 2 finished pieces to the base card. With my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the image onto the Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock. I then die cut it using Sizzix Framelets by Stephanie Barnard – 562676 – Hearts Dotted. The image was coloured in and popped up onto the background using U-line douhble-sided tape. I applied some glue onto the backs of 3 of the pre-cut hearts and placed them onto the base background to complete the card.

The Happy Couple!!

Today, I’m sharing a card that I made using the image from The Paper Shelter called The Happy Couple. I made this card for a colleague who was married recently. Here’s wishing the happy couple a very long and happy marriage!

To make the card, I first imported the image into Microsoft Word and then printed it out on my HP Printer using High Quality Grayscale. The image was printed onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in the image using Copic markers and then fussy cut around it.

Using my Cuttlebug, Spellbinders – S6-138 dies, and I die cut Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. 5 times for the layers and twice for the sides. For the front of the card, I die cut Crafts Pearl Papers – 02-3081416 with the same dies. For the grass, I die-cut Lawn Fawn – Shadow Box Card Park Add-On and Lawn Fawn – Simple Grassy Hillsides using Momenta – Cardstock. Lastly, I die-cut the flag banner using Crafter’s Companion – Luxury Cardstock – Navy Blue and Craftin Desert Diva’s – Flag Banner Dies and the sentiment was die cut 5 times with Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock and once with Hot Buy Craft Smart – Holiday Glitz Glitter Paper using PaperCrafter Today – 15 Die Cut Sentiment Set.

For the back panel using stencils I had made previously out of Avery Elle – Pierced Clouds Dies, I coloured in the sky using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean and Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Broken China. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mowed Lawn was used to colour in the grass. The card was now ready to put together. I started with the coloured background and added the coloured image to it using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

This was adhered to the side panels using double-side tape on both sides.  Working from back to front, I added on the next layer and applied the grass die cut to front of the layer. This was put through the tabs on the side. I added in the next layers in the same manner. A layer with more grass was added to the 4th layer. I added in the next layer and then for the very front I once again cut off the tabs on both sides and then attached it to the sides using double-sided tape. The banner was then added using glue. The paper for the sentiment had been put through my Xyron Creative Station prior to cutting it. This made it easy to peel of the back of the stickers for each layer and assembling them on top of each other. I used the white layers for the bottom of the sentiment and for the final piece, I used the gold. A small jewel dot was used to finish off the dotted “i”.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: The Happy Couple (The Paper Shelter)

Inks: HP Printer Grayscale, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean, Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Broken China, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mowed Lawn

Die Cuts: Lawn Fawn – Shadow Box Card Park Add-On, Lawn Fawn – Simple Grassy Hillsides, Spellbinders – S6-138, Craftin Desert Diva’s – Flag Banner Dies, PaperCrafter Today – 15 Die Cut Sentiment Set, Avery Elle – Pierced Clouds Die (D-05-01)

Hugs!!

Today, I’m sharing a card that I made using Dreamerland Crafts stamps called True Friendship – D18020 for the main image and sentiment. It’s always great to see our friends and give them a big hug. Now, it’s wonderful that more and more of my family and friends are getting their 2nd Covid shots, so we will all be able to hug each other again when we see each other. Have you given someone a hug today?

To make this card I used a base card of 5.5″ x 4.25″ using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. I die cut the aqua and pink layers using my Couture Creations – Go Power and Emboss and Gina Marie Designs – Loopy Rectangle Die Set. I trimmed off the loops and line pattern to create a slim border out of the pink cardstock. I applied liquid glue on the the back of the aqua design and adhered it directly to the base card. Next, I applied some double-sided foam tape to the back of the pink rectangle and placed it on  top of the aqua die cut.

For the main image, I first die cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Cardstock using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers. Next, using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the main image onto this and coloured it in with Copic markers. I stamped a second image onto regular copy paper and fussy cut around the image by hand to create a mask. This I placed over top of the coloured image of the 2 little girls. I was able to create the cloudy sky using the stencil from Heffy Doodle – Cloudy Skies, a combination of Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean and Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Broken China and a Picket Fence Studio Blender Brush. The grass base was created with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mowed Lawn, Lawn Fawn – Slimline Grassy Hillside Stencils and a Picket Fence Studio Blender Brush. Then, I removed the mask and added in a little more texture to the grass using the Copics listed below.

To create the “Hugs” sentiment, I first ran some black cardstock through my Xyron Create a Sticker. Then using the die-cut from Sugar Script – Hugs, I cut it out 4 times to create a raised image. Since, I had already made stickers out of them, it was easy to peel off the backing and layer them on top of each other. I layered the first 3 and then on the last layer, I first applied Stickles – Black Diamond to it and set it aside to dry. Once, it was dry, I added it as the top layer. I just loved how it had that added sparkle. LOL!

To complete my card, I applied some liquid glue to the back of the coloured image and then adhered it directly to the pink layer. I peeled the backing off of my bottom layer of “Hugs” and applied it directly to the coloured image.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: True Friendship – D18020 – Dreamerland Crafts

Just a Note!!

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Designs – Birdhouse #1 from the new June release for the image and sentiment. This image also comes with 2 other sentiments: “Welcome To The Neighbourhood” and “Thinking of You”.

To make the card, I first imported the image and the sentiment into Microsoft Word. I printed out the image and sentiment onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and a second copy of the image onto copy paper using my HP Printer. I coloured in the image with Copic markers and then fussy cut around the image on the copy paper to create a mask using my Brother Scan and Cut.

The rectangles were die cut using My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers. I fussy cut around the sentiment and inked around the yellow rectangle and sentiment with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Fossilized Amber. I placed the mask over the coloured image and added in my clouds using some stencils that I created previously using Avery Elle – Pierced Clouds Die (D-05-01) and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mowed Lawn was added for the base background of the lawn.

To assemble the card, I began with a base card of The Paper Studio – Primary Simply Solids (4.25″ x 5.5″). I ran all of the elements through my Xyron Creative Station to create stickers out of them and so that they would lay completely flat when assembled. I added all of the layers directly to the base card. To finish it off, I added some CC Designs – Dragon Dreams Enamel Dots.

Happy Birthday MVP!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a masculine card using Touchdown Trevor – R027 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Happy Birthday MVP – G174 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Both of my brothers were All Stars when they played Football in High-School a long time ago. Sports were always a big part of our lives growing up and for a lot of our family, they still are!!!

To make my card this week, the image and sentiment were both stamped using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I used my Brother Scan and Cut to die cut the image and then I coloured it in with Copic markers. For the background, I used my Cricut Explore to die cut the football and goal post using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. paper with an image from 3 Birds – Life’s a A Party. Using pre-cut stencils for clouds, I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean and a Picket Fence – Blending Brush to create them. I added in the grass with a Picket Fence – Blending Brush, finger dauber and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mowed Lawn. Black, brown and yellow cardstock were added behind the cut-out. The sentiment was cut with my cutter and the corners were snipped off with scissors. To give it an edge, I went around the cut sentiment with Copic marker – E23.

To assemble the card, I used The Paper Studio – Primary Simply Solids (4.25″ x 5.5″) for the base. 2-sided tape was applied to the back of the coloured background image and it was attached directly to the base. 3M VHB – 2 sided tape was attached to the back of the coloured image and back of sentiment and applied to the top of the card.

Anniversary Gnomes!!

Sharing a card I made today combining the image from KLM Digital Designs April Release called Bride Gnome and image and sentiment from Groom Gnome. These images could be used separately or together and come with multiple sentiments.

To make the card, I first imported the image into Microsoft Word and printed it out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. I coloured in the image with Copic markers. Then I printed them out again on regular copy paper and used my Brother Scan and Cut  to cut around them. I used these as masks over top of the coloured images. Using multiple Tim Holtz inks listed below, I created the sky with a stencil I had created from Avery Elle – Pierced Clouds Die and grass stencil I created from Lawn Fawn – Grassy Hillside Borders.

For the base card, Recollections – Christmas Cards and envelopes paper was used at the size of 5.5″ x 4.25″. I die cut the finished coloured image with Your Next Stamp – Stitched Rectangle Die Set (YNSD214) and glued it to the base.

Gardening Gnome!!

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Designs new April Release called Tulip Planter Gnome. He loves gardening and so does my husband. My husband has a real green thumb and always makes our garden and flowers look amazing! Unfortunately, I’ve never been very good with plants. I think they shrivel in fear when they see me coming!!! LOL!

To make the card, I first imported the image into Microsoft Word and printed it out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. I coloured in the image with Copic markers.

For the base card, Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. paper was used at the size of 5.5″ x 4.25″. I used Leane Creatif BV – Art.nr.35.0225 embossing folder and AC Autumn cardstock for the base background. After I embossed the paper, I used a very light sandpaper to sand off the raised elements. I cut 2 ovals using some spare cardstock using Hero Arts – Infinity Die Ovals. The outside of the smaller oval and card were inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mowed Lawn and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Forest Moss. I cut out the sentiment with my small cutter and then mounted it on top of some dark brown cardstock. Using my cutter, I created the small border. I die cut the little garden trowel with Marianne Designs Collectibles – COL1346 using silver and brown paper scraps.

To assemble the card, I mounted the embossed background directly to the base using 2-sided tape. The larger oval was glued on. The smaller oval, coloured image, and sentiment were all applied using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. Lastly, to finish off the card, I glued on the trowel and added a few YNS Gumdrops.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Tulip Planter Gnome – KLM Digital Designs

Inks: HP Printer Grayscale, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mowed Lawn, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Forest Moss

Soccer Fun!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a masculine card using Soccer Gabriel – SS525 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Awesome & Wonderful – FR001 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Soccer has become a really big sport in North America over the last while. In Europe, they call it “Football”! We have 6 soccer fields at the end of our street in the park and before Covid, the fields were packed with both young and old from morning till night with teams competing. It looks like Gabriel is saving the day for his team today! LOL!

To make my card this week, I used Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. paper folded to 4.25″ x 5.5″ for the base. I cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card to 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ and stamped the image and sentiment using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured in the image with Copic markers and created my own background.

To create the background it was fairly easy. After stamping the main image, I drew in the net using a lead pencil and ruler for the main frame and the goal line. Once I was satisfied with the look, I erased the harsh lines so that they were barely visible. I used a combination of green Copic markers and just made small circles everywhere to give the lawn some texture. I also used the chisel edge nib to cover more of the background easier. For the trees, again I used another combination of greens. I based the entire tree line with YG91 and then just drew a bunch of squiggly lines to create round and triangular shapes using the various markers listed below to give the effect of a forest. Lastly, I took a Gelly Roll Sakura #5 Pen and using a ruler made vertical and horizontal lines to create the netting.

To assemble the card, I applied some Tombow Multi Mono Liquid glue to the back of the coloured image and applied it to the base. I stamped out the sentiment and inked around the edges first with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mowed Lawn and then a black marker to make the outer lines crisp.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Soccer Gabriel – SS525 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment: Awesome & Wonderful – FR001 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Inks: Memento – Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mowed Lawn

Paper: Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb.

Tools: MISTI – Most Incredible Stamping Tool, Tombow – Multi Mono Liquid Glue

Image coloured with Copic Markers:

Skin: E21, E11, E04, E00, E000, R24, R20, Eyes (Sakura Glaze – Black, Gelly Roll Sakura #5 Pen)

Hair: E47, E44, E43, E40

Gnome – Thanks!!

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Designs – Chillin’ At Home Gnome from the new March release. This gnome is just sitting back and relaxing enjoying the beautiful day outside. This stamp comes with 2 more sentiments as well as the one shown here on my card. “Keep smiling, life is to short”, which is soooo true and also, “Miss You”.

To make the card, I first imported the image and sentiment into Microsoft Word. I sized both the image and sentiment to fit 5.5″ x 4.25″ and printed everything out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. The image was coloured in with Copic markers. I fussy cut around the image as I had accidentally splattered some of the red Copic marker onto the original background. Grrrr! Which turned out to be OK anyways, as I cut Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. paper to the size of 5.5″ x 4.25″ and created my background directly onto it using some templates that I created from cloud dies and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean for the sky. I just used Copic markers to colour in the sky on the image I fussy cut for between the fence posts. This way I didn’t have to fussy cut between each one. For the grass, I started out with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mowed Lawn for my base and then used the Copic markers listed below to add more texture.

Once the image and back ground were both complete, I ran the main image through my Xyron Creative Station as I wanted it to lay completely flat onto the background. Finally, I applied some 2-side tape to the base card and attached the finished background and image.

Card Recipe:

Stamp and Sentiments: Chillin’ At Home Gnome (KLM Digital Designs)

Inks: HP Printer Grayscale, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mowed Lawn

Die Cuts: Avery Elle – Custom Steel Dies – Made in the USA – D-05-01 PiercedCloudsDie, Whimsy Stamps – Grass and Cloud Edger Die Set

Paper: Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb.

Miscellaneous: Xyron Creative Station

Image coloured with Copic Markers:

Skin: E21, E11, E04, E00, E000

Come To Save The Day!

It’s Wednesday, and this week using High Hopes Stamps, I made a slim line card using  Sir Dustin – T177Jousting Dragon – S221 and Castle – R092 images and Here I Come…. – F248 for the sentiment. I love fantasy and dragons and thought these images were so much fun to play with.

I made my slim line card using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock for my base folded at 4″ x 9″.

I stamped the images and sentiment using Memento – Tuxedo Black using my MISTI onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I die cut the Copic paper with PinkFresh Studio – Essential Slim Cuts to use for the background. I decided to stamp the castle and sentiment directly onto the background. The other 2 images were stamped separately and then I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around them and fussy cut where they still had some white around the images.

I coloured in the Castle – R092 using Royal Blue colours for the flags, the same as Sir Dustin – T177 who I coloured in as the Blue Knight. I added some extra bricks onto the castle to give it some more texture. Using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean and Avery Elle – Pierced Clouds Die stencils that I made using the die cuts, I coloured in the sky. To give some texture to the grass, I first used a mixture of Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Crushed Olive and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mowed Lawn. Then I enhanced the colours using my Copic markers. I added some glue onto the back of the coloured image and attached it directly to the base card.

Sir Dustin – T177 was coloured in with Copic Markers and then I used a black marker to go around the entire image. This was popped up using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the background. I used Royal Blues for his outfit and Royal Purples and gold for his dragon.

Lastly, I coloured in Jousting Dragon – S221 as the Red Knight with Copic Markers and then I went around the image with a black marker. I decided to make him the Red Knight and added a “D” to his shield for “Dragon”. LOL! The image was popped up with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to complete the card.

Nutcracker – Seasons Greetings!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week I’m sharing a Christmas card featuring Nutcracker – M104 from (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) paired with the sentiment Seasons Greetings – F300A (High Hopes Rubber Stamps). It’s always fun to use Nutcrackers at Christmas time, that is if your parents let you play with them? LOL! Do you use your nutcrackers if you have one or are they strictly for decoration?

To create the card this week, I stamped the main image using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. Then I die cut the image using Creative Expression Craft Dies by Sue Wilson – Noble Dies – Double Pierced Ovals and my Cuttlebug. The image was then coloured in with Copic Markers.

I stamped the sentiment using VersaMark Ink and then embossed it with Ranger – Super Fine Gold Embossing Powder. This was then heated using my Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool.  I used the same die cuts to cut the remaining ovals. I used PhotoPlay – Christmas Memories for the main background paper and cut it to 6″ x 6″. I edged around the main background, background patterned oval and sentiment with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mowed Lawn. To create the ribbon, I used some scrap red cardstock, Crafts – Sparkling Stickers – 02-3068629 – Gold and white cardstock. For the Sparkling stickers, I first attached the paper to some white cardstock to give it more stability. Once the pieces for the ribbons were created, I ran all of them through my Xyron Create a Sticker to make it easier to adhere the layers to each other.

The card was now ready to assemble, I attached the main background to a card base of 6″ x 6″. I layered all of the rectangles to create my ribbon and also added the sentiment to this ribbon as well. I then placed this directly onto the base card. The ovals were all popped up using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

HoHoHoHoHo!!

Today I’m sharing  Santa Gnome (KLM Digital Designs) image from the new November release. This adorable little Gnome comes with 3 different sentiments. “Believe In The Magic”, “Happy Holidays” and “Christmas Blessing”.

I printed out the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around the image and coloured it in with Copic markers. The background was die cut using Hot Buy Craft Smart – Holiday Glitz Glitter Paper and Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. paper. I coloured the vines and leaves from the Hammermill die cut with various Tim Holtz Distress inks listed below and then fussy cut them out. Glue was applied to the reverse side of the die cut and then it was placed on top of the original Glitz Paper die cut. Crafts – Self-Adhesive Rhinestones were then applied to the berries on the vine.

For the background, I used the Hammermill paper to create a card base of 5.5″ x 4.25″. Then I applied Crafts – Sparkling Stickers red paper to the base. I then adhered the vine and frame directly to the background using glue. Lastly, I die cut the sentiment 5 times using black cardstock and the 1 time with Tonic Studios – Craft Perfect – Onyx Black Pearlescent. I ran all off the die cuts through my Xyron Create a Sticker to make it easier to apply them on top of each other. This created an embossed effect. I then added this on top of the vine base. The main image was then added to the card using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

To finish off the card, I added some Marvy – Liquid Applique to the big pom-pom and heat set it with my Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool to puff it up. Lastly, some Stickles – Frosted Lace was added to the hat, cuffs and coat trim.

Buddy’s Present

It’s Wednesday, and this week I’m sharing another Christmas card featuring Buddy’s Gift Block – R161 from (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) with the sentiment Sm. Christmas Script – F051 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps). Buddy and his little birdie friend are all set for Christmas with his gift all wrapped up for you? How soon do you start wrapping presents for Christmas?

To create the card this week, I stamped the main image and then coloured it in with Copic Markers. Once it was all coloured in, I fussy cut around it and used a black marker to go around all of the edges. I used some 2-sided tape and placed it onto some white cardstock. Then I used my cutter  to cut a thin border all around the image. I repeated this process with some red cardstock and edged around all of the sides with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Barn Door. I added some Stickles – Sea Glass around the inside border, Stickles – Icicle for the hat and pom-pom and some Clear – Wink of Stella to the all of the baubles and set everything aside to dry.

For the sentiment, I cut the the stamp in half so that I could place it on 2 lines. To stamp the sentiment, I used my MISTI, Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder. The powder was heat set using Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool.

For the base card I started out with white cardstock folded in half to create a 5.5″ x 4.25″ card. Doodlebug – Milk and Cookies paper was used for the background. I fussy cut along the bottom following the flow of the words. Some red cardstock was glued from the back onto the background paper and then I followed the flow of the previous cut to create a thin border. I repeated this process with some green cardstock. Once all of the 3 layers were complete, I cut the piece to be approximately 5-1/8″ x 3.25″. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mowed Lawn was used to go around all of the edges.

To assemble the card, I glued the combined background layers onto the base card.  The main image and frame created earlier were added using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to complete the card.

Have A Beary Special Day!

Welcome Back Dreamerland Craft Fans!

Today, I’m sharing a birthday card that I made with Dreamerland Crafts stamp called With My Love – D19024. This little bear is on his way to wish someone a “Beary Good Birthday”!

To make this card I used a base card of 4.25″ x 5.5″. I stamped the image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI. I coloured in the image and background with Copic markers and then used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around it.

I cut out at rectangle 4.25″ x 5.5″ from Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. paper and then I used various dies and Tim Holtz inks to create the background. I have listed them below. I had die cut templates using the dies which makes it really easy to create the backgrounds.

I stamped the sentiment from Jaded Blossom – Forest Friends using Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and my MISTI onto some Turquoise Cardstock. I used Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder and then heat embossed the powder with Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. Next, I edged around the background sentiment outer edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Peacock Feathers. I went around the main image outline with Copic Markers – B000 and YG03. Then, I popped up the image with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape and added in some balloons which I die-cut using Your Next Stamp – Mini Balloon Trio Die Set and drew little strings from them.

Hang in There!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I thought I’d make an inspirational card to share with you using Raggedy Ann-ouncement – R044 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the main image and Hang In There – D278 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment.

To make my card this week, I started off with a card base of 5.5″ x 4.25″.  I created the background on Hammermill – Premium Colour cardstock using various stencils, Picket Fence Studio Blender Brushes and Tim Holtz inks which I have listed below. I thought the sun rays reflected a ray of hope for everyone and I hope that we will all be seeing better days soon. Once the background was finished, I used 2 sided tape and mounted it onto the base card.

I stamped the image  and sentiment onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and coloured in the main image with Copic markers. I ran the coloured image through my Brother Scan and Cut to create a slim border around it and then went around the edges with Y06 – Yellow and YG25 – Celadon Green to make it blend into the background. Lastly, I popped up the image using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape and created a small shadow below Raggedy Ann.
