Have A Hoppy Day!!

Sharing a birthday card that I made today using KLM Digital Design –  Hang In There Frog from the new November 2022 release. This image also comes with 2 more sentiments, “Take a leap of faith” and “Hang in there”.

The image and sentiment were imported into Microsoft Word and printed out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured the image in and then fussy cut around it. Using a black marker, I inked around the image.

Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock was used to create a 5″ x 4.25″ card base. Using multiple Tim Holtz Distress Inks and a blender brush, I created the background sky directly on the card base. The leafy border was die cut using Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, a Cuttlebug and Lawn Fawn – Tropical Leaves Backdrop dies. With multiple Tim Holtz inks and a blender brush I inked over the die cut and some extra leaves from the same die set. Then with Copic markers, I made some of the leaves a little darker to give the background some contrast.

Scrapbook Adhesives – 3D Foam Strips were attached to the back of the large die cut. I applied some glue to the ends of the vine for the frog and attached them to the leaves. Once the glue was dry, I added more Scrapbook Adhesives – 3D Foam Strips to the back of the coloured image. Both pieces were now attached to the base card. I applied some glue to the individual leaves and applied them directly to the base card underneath the die cut. Lastly, I die cut the sentiment using a Cuttlebug and Poppystamps – Christmas Quotes die. I inked around the edges of the die cut with a black marker and then glued it to the tops of the leaves to finish off the card.

Hearts Warm!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Toasting Marshmallows – T026 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Hearts Warm – G063 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. This image brings back so many memories of going camping and sitting around the campfire roasting marshmallows. I gave my image coloured marshmallows, because growing up they were always my favourite! LOL!

To make my card this week, I started with a base of 6″ x 6″ using Recollections – Black cardstock. I taped Echo Park – Star Stencil on top of the cardstock and applied several Cosmic Shimmer – Opal Blaze Polishes using a spatula to create the nice starry background. I wanted my scene to look like the friends were in the woods, so I die cut some trees of various sizes using Nellie’s Choice – Nature Scene Dies – NSD001 – Mountains and Momenta – Cardstock. Once I die cut the trees, I added some Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Forest Moss and Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Peeled Paint to add some more colour to them. Then, I ran the trees through my Xyron Create a Sticker to make it easier to apply them later. I felt the scene also needed a moon, so I die cut one using Nellie’s Choice – Nature Scene Dies – NSD002 – Sky and then coloured it in and added 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the back of it and set everything aside.

I stamped my image and sentiment using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Cardstock. I fussy cut around the top part of the image and then used a ruler to know where to cut the remainder of the bottom piece with my cutter. I coloured in the image using Copic markers and then used a black marker to go around all of the fussy cut part of the image and Copic marker – YG67 was used to go around the edges of the grassy area. For the sentiment, I used My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers to cut out the sentiment and background layer. I ran the sentiment through my Xyron Create a Sticker and applied it directly to the outer frame.

My card was now ready to assemble. I first adhered my starry background to a card base of AC – White cardstock sized at 6″ x 6″ using double-sided tape. Then, I used my coloured image to help me with the placement of where the trees would go. Since, I had already made stickers out of my trees, this was a fairly easy process. Once I was satisfied with their positioning, I applied 3M VHB – 2 sided tape, to the back of the coloured image and sentiment frame and attached them directly to the base card. Lastly, I attached the moon to complete the scene.

Card Recipe:

Gardening Gnome!!

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Designs new April Release called Tulip Planter Gnome. He loves gardening and so does my husband. My husband has a real green thumb and always makes our garden and flowers look amazing! Unfortunately, I’ve never been very good with plants. I think they shrivel in fear when they see me coming!!! LOL!

To make the card, I first imported the image into Microsoft Word and printed it out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. I coloured in the image with Copic markers.

For the base card, Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. paper was used at the size of 5.5″ x 4.25″. I used Leane Creatif BV – Art.nr.35.0225 embossing folder and AC Autumn cardstock for the base background. After I embossed the paper, I used a very light sandpaper to sand off the raised elements. I cut 2 ovals using some spare cardstock using Hero Arts – Infinity Die Ovals. The outside of the smaller oval and card were inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mowed Lawn and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Forest Moss. I cut out the sentiment with my small cutter and then mounted it on top of some dark brown cardstock. Using my cutter, I created the small border. I die cut the little garden trowel with Marianne Designs Collectibles – COL1346 using silver and brown paper scraps.

To assemble the card, I mounted the embossed background directly to the base using 2-sided tape. The larger oval was glued on. The smaller oval, coloured image, and sentiment were all applied using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. Lastly, to finish off the card, I glued on the trowel and added a few YNS Gumdrops.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Tulip Planter Gnome – KLM Digital Designs

Inks: HP Printer Grayscale, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mowed Lawn, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Forest Moss

St. Patty’s Day 2021!!

Sharing this adorable image called St. Patty’s Day Gnome from KLM Digital Designs today from the new February release. My grandmother and her family migrated from Ireland to Canada many, many years ago, so St. Patrick’s Day is extra special to our family. We even used to joke that my one Uncle looked like a Leprechaun. LOL! May the luck of the Irish be with you all this coming St. Patrick’s Day.

To make the card, I printed out the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around the image and coloured it in with Copic markers.

I used Hammermill paper to create the base shape of the card 8.5″ x 4.25″. I scored the paper at 4.25″. I opened up Microsoft Word and imported the background papers from Leska’s Digitals – St. Patrick’s Day. For the main background I sized the image to to 5.5″ x 4.25″ and then imported the sentiment from KLM Digital Designs St. Patty’s Day Gnome and gave it a green background. I brought the sentiment to the front on the main background so that it would print out in one piece. For the smaller oval, I imported the image from Leska’s Digitals – St. Patrick’s Day papers and sized it to 4.25″ x 3.5″.

For the inside of the card, I imported the papers image and then sized it at 5.25″ x 4″. I drew a white rectangle at 4.75″x3.5″ and placed it over top of the background. I imported the images for the 2 KLM sentiments St. Patty’s Day Gnome and brought them to the front within Microsoft Word. I also added a small square with a larger shamrock. Then I printed out everything on my printer.

I used Hero Arts – Infinity Die Ovals to die cut the background oval and green oval on the front of the card. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Forest Moss was used to ink around all of the edges of the card and the ovals. Using double sided tape, I attached the large background directly to the base of the card and the sentiment print out to the inside of the card. I fussy cut around the large shamrock, applied some glue to the back of it and attached it to the inside of the card.

I ran the small oval through my Xyron Creative Station to make it a sticker and then attached it directly to the larger oval. To complete the card, I applied 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the back of the large oval and coloured image and then popped them both up on the front of the card.

Card Recipe:

Stamp and Sentiments: St. Patty’s Day (KLM Digital Designs)

Inks: HP Printer Grayscale, HP Printer – Colour, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Forest Moss

Paper: Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb., Leska’s Digitals – St. Patrick’s Day

Mudzie Goes Skating!

Welcome High Hopes Rubber Stamps Fans!

It’s Wednesday and this week I’m back to share a card that I made using Skating Mudzie – R064 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) with Frozen Skating Pond – S074 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for my background and then finished off with the sentiment Sparkle In Ice – H156 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps).

This card brought back memories of skating on the Ottawa Canal when I was younger whenever we went to visit our grandparents and my mom’s side of the family. We would skate for hours, enjoying Beaver Tails along the way (Beaver Tails are a fried dough pastry, stretched to look a beaver’s tail with added yummy toppings of your choice. They are sooooooo good! LOL!)

I grew up in Northern Ontario and we couldn’t wait to get home from school to lace up our skates and go across the street to the rink to skate. Like Starbuck’s, we had rink on practically every corner and the rinks were always full of children playing hockey or rink games. Our parents would have to fight with us to go inside. We would go in for supper and then be right back out on the ice again.

To make this card, I first coloured the ice with a mixture of blue Copic colours. Then I covered the whole area with Ranger Inkssentials – Glossy Accents and let it sit overnight to dry. The next day, I finished colouring in the trees, leaving the snow drifts white. I also coloured in the sky and then used various sizes of Gelly Roll Sakura Pens to create the snow.

Lastly, I completed the background snow using some BV20, C0 and Colorless Blender and then to add some sparkle, I spread glue randomly over the snowy areas and tree tops and added glitter.

I coloured in the moose and fussy cut around him and then popped him up as well as the background onto the card. I thought it would be fun to do his socks in the traditional “Roots” fashion. I also used the Gelly Roll pen to create some movement on the ice below the moose.

For the sentiment, I wanted it to have some sparkle like the snow. To do this, I inked the sentiment on white paper and then used some Sookwang double-sided tape to cover it. I peeled off the tape and then sprinkled Crystal Glitter Ritz – Warm Highlight – Transparent Ultra Fine Glitter and burnished it with my finger. (Rubbing it until it was smooth). I added some double-sided pop-up tape and added it to my card to finish it off.

Lastly, I added some green ribbon and some pop-dots for the last finishing touches.

Card Recipe:
