You Did It!

Today I’m sharing a graduation card using KLM Digital DesignGraduation Gnome II from the new March release. This image also comes with 2 more sentiments, “Be the change that you want to see in this world” and “And so the adventure begins”. This little gnome is glowing with pride after graduating and accepting his diploma. Congratulations to all of the new graduates out there this year!

Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock was used to create a 4.25″ x 5.5″ card base. Recollections – Black cardstock was cut to the size of 4″ x 4-5/8″ and Recollections – Patterned paper was cut to the size of 3″ x 4.25″ using My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers and my Cuttlebug. Using a Sharpie – Gold Medium Point – Water Based Paint pen, I inked around all of the edges of both pieces.

The image and sentiment were imported into Microsoft Word and printed out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in the image and fussy cut around it and the sentiment. Both were adhered onto Recollections Black cardstock and then fussy cut again.

The card was now ready to assemble. I added U-Line double-sided pop-up tape to the backs of the sentiment, image and both rectangular pieces. All pieces were then popped up onto card to complete it.

Peace Dude!

Today I’m sharing an inspirational \ birthday card using KLM Digital DesignPeace Gnome from the new March release. This image also comes with 2 more sentiments, “Peace begins with a smile” and “There is peace even in the storm”. Seeing this image made me feel nostalgic for my younger days in the 60’s and 70’s. I still remember how excited I was to get my very first pair of GWG bell bottom jeans and then LEVIS. LOL! Flower power was all the rage and there were flowers and peace signs everywhere. I was still young, but it was a really cool time to grow up.

AC Cardstock – White was used to create a 6″ x 6″ card base. BasicGrey – Lauderdale Patterned paper was cut to the same size as the base card and adhered with double-sided tape. Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Villainous Potion was used to ink around all of the edges.

The image and sentiment were imported into Microsoft Word and printed out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and 2 extra copies of the image were printed onto plain copy paper to be used for masking later. With my Cuttlebug, I die cut the image and the purple background layer using Quickutz Nesting Frame 7 dies. I fussy cut around the sentiment and then inked it very lightly with some purple that I had left on my blending brush. I ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker and attached it to a scrap piece of Recollections – Purple Passions paper. Once again, I fussy cut around the sentiment. The larger frame and sentiment edges were inked around the edges with the same ink as the base card.

The image was coloured in with Copic Markers listed below. The top portion of the image was fussy cut and I applied some Washi Tape to the back of it to create a hinge and to mask the image. Using blender brushes and multiple Tim Holtz Distress Inks, I created the clouds in the sky with Lawn Fawn Cuts – Cloudy Stencil.

Once I completed the sky, I used second image that I had printed out onto the copy paper for 2 purposes. The first purpose was to use a stylus and tracing paper to transfer the image onto the patterned paper from BasicGrey – Lauderdale Paper Pad for paper piecing the gnome’s shirt. I loved the wild flower pattern and thought it was perfect for this hippie gnome. Once the pattern was transfered, I fussy cut it out. I used my Copic markers to create a small shadow on various parts of the shirt. With a Pigma Micron 03 black marker, I drew the lines in darker so that they would stand out on the shirt and then used a black marker to go around all of the pieces. Once completed, all of the pieces were put through a Xyron Create a Sticker to make it easier to stick to them to the coloured image and also so that they would lay flat. I then added the pieces to the main image.

The printed image was then fussy cut and the sand was added using a blender brush, Krafty Kolours – Sandy Shores for the base and a mixture of Copic markers listed below.

The remainder of the card was now ready to assemble. I added U-Line double-sided tape to the backs of the sentiment, large purple frame and image. They were all then popped up onto card.

Card Recipe:

Stamp and Sentiment:  Peace Gnome – KLM Digital Designs

Inks: HP Printer Grayscale, Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Salty Ocean, Wilted Violet, Aged Mahagony, Abandoned Coral, Kitsch Flamingo, Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, Villainous Potion, Krafty Kolours – Sandy Shores

Dies: Quickutz Nesting Frame 7

Sending You Love!!

So happy to be colouring and creating again. I went away on a Southern Caribbean cruise at the beginning of the month and unfortunately, 3 days after being back ended up very sick with Covid. My husband was sick as well, even though we have both had all of our shots and 2 boosters. I’m so glad that we had our shots though, as I would never like to see what we would have gone through, had we not had the shots. We’re both slowly still recovering, but have a little more energy these days. We are still planning our next vacation though, as life must go on. LOL! On a good note, we did meet some really nice people on our voyage and one of them was even an international best selling author and his wife was wonderful too! Wow! How amazing is that? We were so blessed that he sent us two of his books, which I am really enjoying. I’m a little late in showcasing my cards for February, but hopefully, you’ll be seeing a lot more from me in the next little while!

*************

Today I’m sharing a special card using KLM Digital DesignValentine Gnome II from the new February release. I was a little late for Valentine’s Day, but I found this sentiment and thought it went perfect with this image.

Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock was used to create a 5.5″ x 4.25″ card base. I taped off the bottom half at 4.25″ from the top of the card with some Post-It Note tape. Using a blending brush and Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Festive Berries, I inked the whole top of the card. I taped Kraftin’ Kimmie – Happy Hearts Stencil on top of the inked portion of the base card and with a blending brush and Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Candied Apple, stenciled in the hearts. With the stencil remaining in place, using a spatula and Nuvo Glimmer Paste – Moonstone, I added glitter to the hearts and set the card aside to for the paste to dry.

The main image was brought into Microsoft Word and sized to approximately 3.75″ x 3″. It was printed out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and coloured in with Copic markers. This was then fussy cut leaving a thin border around it. I used a C1 Copic marker to go around the entire image so that it wasn’t pure white. The sentiment was stamped onto Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock using my MISTI and Sending Love Cubbies Stamp by Art Impressions using Memento – Lady Bug ink. With the Cuttlebug, the sentiment was cut out using Poppystamps – Christmas Quotes dies. Penny Black – Graceful Stackers dies were also used to cut out a scrap piece of Recollections – Matte Gold Foil cardstock at the same time. Using the same blending brush, I brushed around the edges of the sentiment die cut to give it some extra colour. I cut a small piece of red cardstock to the size of 3/8″ x 4.25″ and ran it through a Xyron Create a Sticker and applied it to the card to break up the joining between the stenciled background and white background.

The rest of the card was now ready to assemble. I applied U-Line double-side tape to the backs of the coloured image, sentiment and gold frame. I added some liquid glue to the tape behind the image to make it stick better to the background with the paste and popped it up onto the card. The sentiment and frame were both popped up onto the card below the coloured image and to finish everything off, Doodlebug Design Inc. – Shape Sprinkles – Love This! hearts were added.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Valentine Gnome II – KLM Digital Designs

Sentiment: Sending Love Cubbies – Art Impressions

Fido – Love You

It’s Wednesday, and today I’m sharing a card I made using KLM Digital Design –  Fido – Love You from the new January 2023 release. Our pets always give us unconditional love and they make the best companions to talk to, play with and just cuddle with with when we need a big hug!

To make my card this week, I started with a 7.25″ x 3.5″ card base using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. Recollections – Burgundy was cut to the size of 7.25″ x 3.5″ and adhered directly to the card. Using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Tall Paw Frame Dies, I die cut Martha Stewart Crafts – Enchanted Woodland paper and the little bone using scraps of brown and black cardstock. Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Festive Berries and a blending brush were used to ink around the edges of the large die cut. This was popped up onto the base using U-Line Double-Sided tape.

The image and sentiment were imported into Microsoft Word and printed out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The paper was cut to be 5-5/8″ x 2-5/8″ and everything was coloured in. U-Line Double-Sided tape was added to this and it was popped up onto the die cut. I ran the bone die cuts through my Xyron Create a Sticker and attached them to the card to finish it off.

3 Stooges!

It’s Wednesday and today I’m sharing a birthday card using KLM Digital DesignThree Stooges Gnome from the new January release. This image also comes with 2 more sentiments, “Just relax and except the crazy” and “Make time for yourself”. I grew up watching “The 3 Stooges” and if these gnomes are anything like they were, you never know what’s going to happen. LOL!

Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock was used to create a 5.5″ x 5.5″ card base. I cut Echo Park – It’s Your Birthday (6″x6″ Double-Sided) designer paper to be the same size and adhered it to the base using double-sided tape. The image and sentiment were imported into Microsoft Word and printed out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The printed image and Echo Park – It’s Your Birthday designer paper were both die cut using my Cuttlebug and Whimsy – Wavy Stitched Squares Die Set. I inked around the designer paper with Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Black Soot and popped it onto the base using U-Line double-sided tape. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Spiced Marmalade was applied around all of the outer edges of the card.  The main image was coloured in with the Copic markers listed below and then popped up onto the centre of the designer paper with U-Line double sided tape. The sentiments were fussy cut and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Spiced Marmalade was applied around the edges. I wanted the larger sentiment to stand out a little more, so I first ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker and then adhered it to a scrap piece of Recollections – Black cardstock. I fussy cut around it again and then applied U-Line double-sided tape to both sentiments with double layers on portions of them and popped them up onto the card. Lastly, I used my Quickie Glue pen to trace around some of the spirals and dots on both designer papers and applied Martha Stewart Crafts Glitter – Crystal Fine to give it some sparkle.

Merry Christmas Bears!

Sharing a Christmas card that I made for my husband this year using Penny BlackNose to Nose – 30-521 and Gina K. DesignsPeaceful Christmas for the trees. Bears have a special place in our hearts, so this was the perfect image to celebrate our Christmas with.

Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock was used to create a 5.5″ x 4.25″ card base. I cut American Crafts Vicki Boutin Mixed Media Foundations Paper to be the same as as the base. I went out of my comfort zone and attempted to create Northern Lights in the sky by applying a combination of Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks – Prize Ribbon, Twisted Citron, Villainous Potion and Black Soot with blending brushes after watching several YouTube videos. Once I was satisfied with the colours, I spritzed the paper with water and allowed it to dry. Once again, I did some ink blending with the same colours. I used some water and a small paint brush and applied Cosmic Shimmer – Opal Glaze Polish – Gilded Avocado over the entire sky. I set this aside to dry. Wasn’t quite what I expected it to be, but I still liked it and hope that you do too!

Using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in the image and then fussy cut it out. By now the background was dry. I put the background back into my MISTI and this time, using Color Hue – Remarkable Ink Pad Eclipse Black, I stamped the trees. I mixed together a combination of FolkArt – Extreme Glitter Acrylic Paint and Delta Ceramcoat – White. With a small paint brush and some water, I applied this to the bottom below the trees and onto the small heart. I love the way some of the blue and purples came through onto the snow giving it some natural shadows. I also added in some stars by putting some of the mixture onto the brush once again and then tapping it to create a small splatter in the sky. This dried fairly quickly. I attached the finished background to my base card using double-sided tape. U-Line double-sided tape was applied to the image and heart and then they were both popped up onto card. Stickles – Diamond was applied to create the snow on the ground to give a cast shadow below the bears. Lastly, I cut the sentiment out of Recollection – Christmas Vellum. This was put through my Xyron Create a Sticker to make it lay flat and not show any glue marks.

Card Recipe:

Stamps:  Nose to Nose – 30521 – Penny Black, Peaceful Christmas – Gina K. Designs

Inks: Memento – Tuxedo Black, Color Hue – Remarkable Ink Pad Eclipse Black, Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inks – Prize Ribbon, Twisted Citron, Villainous Potion and Black Soot

You’re How Old??

Sharing a CAS birthday card that I made today using KLM Digital DesignThinking Gnome from the new November 2022 release. This image comes with 2 other sentiments as well, “Just thinking of you” and “Thinking of you makes my day”. This little gnome is thinking really hard to figure out how old you are this year! LOL!

To make my card this week, I started with a 5.5″ x 4.25″ card base using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. Echo Park – Happy Birthday paper was cut to the same size and adhered directly to the base using double-sided tape! The image and sentiment were imported into Microsoft Word and printed out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in the image and then fussy cut around it. I ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker and placed it onto a small piece of Recollections – Black cardstock and fussy cut around it again. Using a Cuttlebug and dies from Sizzix Framelits – Banner Dies, I die cut the sentiment and a larger banner using Echo Park – Happy Birthday paper. With a blender brush, I inked over the sentiment die cut to give it a shade of green colour. With Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Pine Needles and a finger dauber, I inked around the 2 banners and all around the card. The larger banner was adhered directly to the card using liquid glue. The image and sentiment were both popped up onto the card using U-Line double-sided tape. YNS Gumdrops – Tropical Paradise were added to the card to finish it off.

Winter Friends!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a Christmas card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Winter Friends – TT048 for the main image and Jingle All the Way – H040, for the sentiment. Snowmen are one of my favourite images to colour and how adorable is this happy snowman singing to his little friend?

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of 6″ x 6″ using AC Cardstock – White. I adhered American Crafts – “Kringle and Co” 6 x 6 in. cardstock to the base front. Red and green cardstock were cut to the sizes of 6″ x 1.25″ and 6″ x 1-1/8″ from some spare paper I had. I adhered the green to the red using double-sided tape and some glue to allow me to centre it. The combined strip was put through a Xyron Create a Sticker to keep it flat. I added this combined strip to the card approximately a .25″ up from the bottom. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Rustic Wilderness was used to ink around all of the edges of the card and it was set aside to dry.

Using my Cuttlebug and paper from Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, I die cut the frame with Gina Marie Designs – Loopy Oval die cuts. The image was stamped onto the die cut using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured in the image and then added the snow in the sky using a Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen. Stickles – Crystal was added to the snow on the ground and along the branches to give it some sparkle.  I set the image to the side to allow the Stickles time to dry.

I cut a piece of Recollections Christmas Ink Jet Printable Glitter Paper to the size of 4″ x 1″. Using my MISTI once again, I stamped the sentiment onto it using Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and then cut a fish tail on each end. U-Line double sided tape was added to the back of the sentiment and then it was popped up and centred in between the red and green stripe. U-Line double-sided tape was added to the back of the image and it was popped up onto the card above the sentiment once the Stickles had dried. Lastly, I die cut 2 pinecones and some pine leaves using my Cuttlebug and dies from Stampin’ UP! – Pretty Pines Thinlets die set. Liquid glue was used to pieced them altogether. I adhered these to the 2 upper corners of the card and then applied some Stickles – Crystal to the leaves to finish off the card.

Carolers – Joy To The World!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a Christmas card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Carolers – TT011 for the main image and Joy to the World – GLL012, for the sentiment. Seeing these carolers reminds me of my younger days when we would go visiting and sing Christmas carols at our cousins and our parent’s friends’ houses.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base from Recollections – Winter 4.25″ x 5.5 (Assorted Box of Cards). Using my Cuttlebug and paper from Crafter’s Companion – Luxury Cardstock – Ice Blue Pack, I die cut the snowflake border with Lawn Fawn – Snowflake Border die cuts. Using the same paper, I cut a thin strip .25″ x 5.5″. With Lawn Fawn – Sparkle Cardstock in “Pixie Dust”, I cut a strip 1″ x 5.5″. Using double-sided tape, I attached the 1″ strip directly onto the base card. I ran the other strip through my Xyron Create a Sticker and attached it to the card next to the 1″ strip. I added liquid glue to the backs of each of the snowflakes for the snowflake border and adhered them over top of the larger strip. Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Tumbled Glass and a finger dauber were used to ink around all of the edges of the card.

With my Cuttlebug and dies from My Favourite Things – Die-namics – Elegant Rectangle Stax, I die cut a large rectangle out of Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock. The image was stamped onto the die cut using my MISTI – Most Incredible Stamping Tool and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured in the image and then added the snow in the sky using a Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen. Cosmic Shimmer Fluffy Stuff was added to the trim of the girl’s jacket and then heat set with a Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool to puff it up. Crystal – Stickles was added on top of this and also along her dress hem. DecoArt Snow-Tex sprinkled with DecoArt Glamour Dust and a spatula were used to create the snow on the bottom of the image. Crystal – Stickles was added to add some extra sparkle and give some highlights. Wink of Stella – Clear was added on top of the music books. The sentiment was stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my MISTI and Memento – Northern Pine ink. It was then die cut using my Cuttlebug and Poppystamps – Christmas Quotes dies. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Rustic Wilderness was used to ink around the edges. I added U-Line double-sided tape to the back of the sentiment and finished image and popped them both up onto the card. Lastly, I added Ranger – Snowflake Glitter with liquid glue to finish it off.

Snow Kisses!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a snow lady Christmas card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Snow Kisses – TT059 for the main image and Holly Jolly – K048 for the sentiment. I’ve always loved snow people and birds and this stamp combo makes me smile because it has both.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of AC Cardstock – White, cut and scored to be 6″ x 6″. I cut 2 strips of Doodlebug Design Inc. – Winter Wonderland coloured snowflake pattern to the size of 6″ x .75″. 2 strips of Doodlebug Design Inc. – Spring Solid Assortment paper to the size of 6″ x .25″ and 1 strip of Forever In Time – Textura Sky cut to the size of 6″ x 4″. With Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Evergreen Bough and a blending brush, I inked around all of the edges of the larger pieces. I ran all of the smaller pieces through my Xyron Create a Sticker. The pieces were then attached to the base card from top to bottom. I used liquid glue to attach the larger piece. I trimmed around the 3 sides of the card with a paper trimmer to make it all even.

For the frame around the image, using my Couture Creations – Go Power and Emboss die cutting machine, I die cut the entire frame with Doodlebug Design Inc. – Winter Wonderland paper and Penny Black – Graceful Stackers dies. 2 dies were pieced together for the pink frame using my cutting device and Forever In Time – Textura Blush cardstock. Lastly, I stamped the image with Memento – Summer Sky ink onto Lawn Fawn – Sparkle Cardstock in “Pixie Dust” using my MISTI. I took this piece and ran it through my Couture Creations – Go Power and Emboss die cutting machine again so that it would fit snug into the frame. I cut off the remainder following the stamped snow along the top and inked it with the Memento – Summer Sky ink. Using liquid glue, I applied the pink frame over top of the snowflake die cut while carefully matching up the edges. Liquid glue was applied to the lower back of the snow piece and it was attached to the snowflake background inside the frame.

The image was stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. After colouring the images, I fussy cut around all of them and then with a black marker, inked around all of the edges. I popped up the snowlady using U-Line double-sided tape and attached her to the card under the snow. The little bird was also popped up using U-Line double-sided tape and some liquid glue. Using Copic B41, I added in some shadows in the snow and Stickles – Hibiscus was applied to the scarf and pompom to give them some extra sparkle.

The sentiment was stamped onto Doodlebug Design Inc. – Spring Solid Assortment using my MISTI and Versamark ink. Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail was applied and then heat embossed using a Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. Using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – More Stitched Circles, I die cut the sentiment. The edges were inked around using a finger dauber and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Evergreen Bough. The snowflake was cut using my Cuttlebug, Lawn Fawn – Sparkle Cardstock in “Pixie Dust” cardstock and die from Recollections – Christmas Snowflakes Clear Stamp & Die set. I popped up both the sentiment and snowflake using U-Line double-sided tape onto the card. Lastly, I added 3 Doodlebug Designs Inc. – Sprinkles onto the frame to finish it off.

Fido’s Hallowe’en

Sharing a Hallowe’en slim line card I made today using KLM Digital DesignFido – Hallowe’en Freebie from the new October 2022 release.  Fido is all set for Trick or Treating with his little “Bee” outfit. Do you dress up your pets for Hallowe’en too?

To make my card this week, I started with a 7″ x 7″ card base using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. I scored this at 3.5″, so that the final card base measured 3.5″ x 7″. To create my background, I die cut the haunted house and path using an Anna Griffin Empress Mini cutting Machine, Recollections – Black cardstock and Say It With Stamps – #6 Haunted House Coverplate Die. The little bats were cut from the same die set at the same time. For the yellow behind the windows I cut a solid piece using Momenta – Cardstock. I glued this into place on the back of the die cut using liquid glue. I love how the Momenta paper had the colour variations of yellow. Using the die cut as a reference as to where to place the background colours, I applied a mixture of Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks for the sky listed below and Tim Holtz Distress Inks for the path with Gina K. Designs blending brushes. Once the background was coloured in, I applied glue to the back of the die cut and adhered it to the card. Using the same cutting machine again, I die cut the sentiments 3 times using scrap pieces of orange and black cardstock which I had run through my Xyron Create a Sticker first so that it would be easier to attach them on top of each other later. I pieced them all together and attached them to the card. The 3 bats were then placed around the sentiment.

The image was imported into Microsoft Word and printed out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The images were coloured in and then Wink of Stella – Clear was applied to the wings to make them sparkly.  Both images were fussy cut and U-Line double-sided tape was applied to both and they were popped up onto the card to finish it off.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Fido – Hallowe’en Freebie – KLM Digital Designs

Inks: HP Printer Grayscale, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Pumice Stone, Hickory Smoke, Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink – Wilted Violet, Seedless Preserves, Villainous Potion, Faded Jeans, Blueprint Sketch, Black Soot

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Couples Cruise – S135 for the image and Wonderful Adventure – H164 for the sentiment. Cruising is starting up again and I can’t wait to go! Seeing this image reminded me of all of the fun times we’ve had and of all of the fun times to come.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of AC Cardstock – White, cut and scored to be 6″ x 6″. Forever In Time – Textura Sky was cut to the size of 5-7/8″ x 5-7/8″ and was adhered to the base using double-sided tape. Craft Consortium – Clare Therese Ocean Tale was cut to the size of 5.75″ x 5.75″ and was popped up onto the base using U-Line double-sided tape. Using Forever In Time – Textura Sky cardstock and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers, the larger frame was die cut using the Cuttlebug. Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies were used to die cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock using the Cuttlebug as well. Lastly, the little clouds were die cut using Lawn Fawn Cuts – Centre Picture Window Card dies, a scrap of Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and my Cuttlebug.

I stamped the image onto the Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI. Once the image and little clouds were coloured, I added in the little eyes using a Sakura Glaze – Black pen to make them stand out more. The nails in the ark were coloured in with a Pental Sunburst Metalic Med Gel Pen – Silver. A few white caps were created using a General’s Charcoal White 558 Pencil in the water.

The sentiment was also stamped using my MISTI onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock and then fussy cut into 3 separate pieces. I ran this through my Xyron Create a Sticker and adhered it to Recollections – Black cardstock. Once again, I cut around the sentiment, leaving a slim border. U-Line double-sided tape was applied to the back of each of the sentiment pieces, image and blue rectangle and they were all popped up onto the card. For embellishments, I added in three YNS Gumdrops – Firefly Magic Sparkly Gumdrops and some blue and white twine using American Crafts Premium Ribbon.

The Best Dirt!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Gordon Groundhog – R123 for the image and The Best Dirt – F221 for the sentiment. My husband loves gardening and this makes me think of him! LOL! We have a few little squirrels that like to raid his garden, eat the tomatoes and dig up the potatoes. Luckily, my husband is good natured and says he can’t get mad at them for what comes natural. We call our back yard the Stevenson’s oasis for wild animals. We have bunnies, squirrels, racoons, possums and a mole that seem to like our vegetables and sometimes we’ve even caught them sleeping up on the furniture under the Gazebo. My husband has now installed a backyard web cam so that we can now capture some of what goes on at night while we are sleeping.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb., cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. Echo Park – New Day Beautiful Blooms Paper was cut to be the same size as the base and applied using double-sided tape. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mowed Lawn and a finger dauber were used to ink around all of the edges of the card. Anna Griffin Empress Mini Cutting Machine and My Favourite Things Die-Namics – Single Stitch Line Rounded Rectangle Frames were used to die cut Stampin’ UP! – Regals Designer Series Paper, Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock.

The clouds in the sky were created using the inner part of the die-cut from the Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock and a mid-size Gina K Designs Blender Brush, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean and stencils that I created using Avery Elle – Pierced Clouds Die. Once this was done, I used regular tape to piece the outer die cut from the Stampin’ UP! – Regals Designer Series Paper and the clouds piece together from the back side. I stamped the image onto the inner frame of the Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI. Once the image was coloured, it was fussy cut around the top part of the image. I applied U-Line double-sided tape to the image and background pieces that I had joined together and popped them both up onto the card.

The sentiment was also stamped using my MISTI onto the same cardstock and then cut with a small cutting device. I ran this through my Xyron Create a Sticker and adhered it to Recollections – Black cardstock. Once again, I cut around the sentiment, leaving a slim border. U-Line double-sided tape was applied to the back of this and it was popped up onto the card. Lastly, to finish it off, I added some Doodlebug Design Inc. Braddies with Glue Dots – Mini.

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Gordon Groundhog – R123 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment: The Best Dirt – F221 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

A Good Guy

Sharing a CAS card I made today using KLM Digital Design –  Fido and Friend Male from the new September 2022 release. This image comes with 2 other sentiments as well, “Thank You for being a wonder friend” and “Every snack you bake, Every meal you bake, Every bit you take, I’ll be watching you”. I think this last sentiment is so true for our furry friends. LOL! I chose the sentiment I used on this card because I know I found my 4 leaf lucky clover and he became my wonderful, kind, caring and loving husband.

To make my card this week, I started with a 5.5″ x 4.25″ card base using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. The image and sentiment were imported into Microsoft Word and printed out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The image and sentiment were cut to be the same size as the base and the image was coloured in. This was then applied to the base card using double-sided tape. Hot Buy Craft Smart – Holiday Glitz Glitter Paper was die cut using my Cuttlebug and Lawn Fawn Cuts – Lucky Clovers. I ran this die cut through my Xyron Create a Sticker and attached it to the card to finish it off.

Book Worm!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I couldn’t resist making this very easy bookmark using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Book Worm – P100 for the image. My husband I both love to read and with this adorable image, it is quick to create multiple bookmarks quickly. They would also be a great gift for the readers in your life too!

To make my bookmark this week, I stamped the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured in the image and I wanted the eyes to stand out. I added in a small line with a Pigma Micron #5 – Black pen and then added some colour to the eyes. To finish the eyes,  I added a little dot of white using a Gelly Roll Sakura #8 Pen. The image was then fussy cut with a small white border all around it. Crafts – Designer Paper – 02-3093268 was die cut using Die-Namics MFT-489 PCD Fishtail Figs STX and my Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine. I punched a hole using We R Memory Keepers Crop-A-Dile Eyelet and Snap Punch at the top of the bookmark. We R Memory Keepers Embellishment Makers Basic Tools-Tassel Loom was used to create the tassel along with 3 yards of twine and then 2 6″ pieces of twine.  I wanted the image to lay flat on the bookmark, so I ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker and then applied it to the die cut. I tied a knot in the twine to join the tassel to the book mark and then added some Ranger Inkssentials – Glossy Accents to the glass lenses to finish it off.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Book Worm – P100 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

By The Moonlight!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a Hallowe’en card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps By The Moonlight – TT047 for the image and Block Happy Halloween – FF049 for the sentiment. These little friends are ready for some spooky fun on Hallowe’en.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb., cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. I die cut the background from Stampin’ UP! – Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper to be the same size as the base. Using a combination of Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot, Villainous Potion, Seedless Preserves and Fossilized Amber and finger daubers, I added some extra colour to the background. Martha Stewart – Hallowe’en Washi Tape was placed across the bottom. I cut Doodlebug Design Inc. – Hallowe’en Parade cardstock to the size of 1-1/8″ x 4.25″. I ran this through my Xyron Create a Sticker and adhered it to the base card above the washi tape.

I stamped the main image and sentiment onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. The main image was a little short for the full width of the card so I added some double-sided tape to a couple scraps of Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock and adhered them to both sides of the fence. The image and sentiment were then both coloured in. The image was fussy cut and U-Line double-sided tape was applied to it. I popped it up onto the card and then cut off the excess from the fence on both sides.  I cut around the sentiment and then ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker and applied it to a piece of Recollections – Black cardstock. Once again, I used my cutter to go around the sentiment, leaving a slight border. U-Line double-sided tape was applied to the back of the sentiment and it was popped up onto the striped paper background to complete the card.

Card Recipe:

Stamps: By The Moonlight – TT047 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Wizard

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Design –  Owl Gnome from the new August 2022 release. This image comes with 2 other sentiments as well, “Owl-ways friends” and “Have a wicked Day!”. Creating the spiral background with Stickles Glitter Gel was a little out of my comfort zone, but I love how the background turned out. I thought it went very well with this image and sentiment. What do you think?

To make my card this week, I started with creating my background first. I wanted to create a mystical background and I couldn’t quite decide between using white or black for the base. I finally decided to try black and I fell in love with the results. A Colorful Life Designs – Striped Spiral Stencil was placed over top of Recollections – Black cardstock. Using a spatula for even coverage over the stencil, Stickles Glitter Gel – Galaxy, Aquarius and Pegasus were added to the spirals. I carefully lifted off the stencil and set the background aside to dry. Once it was all dry, I felt that is was missing something. I didn’t like just the solid black behind and in between the spirals, so I decided to add in guess what? More glitter! LOL! This time, using my small spatula, I added Stickles Glitter Gel – Moon Dust over top of everything. This created the magical effect that I was looking for and I could still see the colourful spirals. Once again, the background was set aside to dry.

The image and sentiment were imported into Microsoft Word and printed out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The image was coloured in and then I fussy cut all around it and the sentiment words. Using my Xyron Create a Sticker, I ran the sentiment words through it and then applied it to a scrap piece of Recollections – Purple Passions cardstock. Once again, I fussy cut around the sentiment words leaving a small border. I applied U-Line double-sided tape to the back of the image and sentiment pieces.

The card was now ready to assemble. I created the base card using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 5.5″. I cut down the background piece that I had created earlier to be the same size and then using double-sided tape adhered it to the base. I added a little bit of glue to the U-Line double sided tape that I had applied earlier to the backs of the sentiment pieces and main image and then popped them up onto the background to complete the card.

AHH – 60!!

Sharing a birthday card I made for a friend using Art ImpressionsAHH Set – A4671 and Rock On Laugh Lines – 5422. I was late getting this birthday card out to my friend as usual and this face says it all. LOL!

To make the card, I began with the base of 8.5″ x 7″ Hammermill – Premium Colour cardstock, scored and folded to the size of 8.5″ x 3.5″. Using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, the images were stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Cardstock and coloured in with Copic Markers. Once the images were coloured, I fussy cut around them both. For the blouse, I stamped the image again onto DCWV – Pocket Blossom paper and paper-pierced it onto the image after I had run it through my Xyron Create a Sticker. For the image on the front page, a black marker was used to outline all of the edges.

For the front of the card, I die cut 3 balloons using my Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine, Concord & 9th – Pop-Up Par-Tay dies and Pergamano Parchment Paper – Rainbow Pastel and 1 balloon out of a spare piece of patterned paper to use for the inside of my card. The numbers were cut from Recollections – Black cardstock using my cutting machine and Lawn Fawn Lawn Cuts – Henry’s 123s. To create the background, I used multiple Tim Holtz Distress inks listed below, multiple brushes and Lawn Fawn – Confetti Stencils to create the background on the base card front.  The sentiment was stamped with a MISTI, Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and then embossed with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder. Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat the embossing powder. Then, I fussy cut around it.

The front of the card was now ready to assemble. I ran each of the numbers through my Xyron Create a Sticker and the balloons through my Xyron Creative Station. The numbers were then placed onto the balloons. I attached the first 2 balloons to the card and then drew in the strings with a black marker. I then added the last balloon and drew another string. A white pencil was used to create a bit of glow along the left side of the balloons. After attaching U-Line double-sided tape to the back of the sentiment and the image, I popped them up onto the front of the card.

Inside of the card:

For the inside of the card, I used Rock On Laugh Lines – 5422 – Art Impressions, Dance It Out Set – 5278 – Art Impressions, Be Happy Laugh Lines – 5279 – Art Impressions for the sentiments. I cut out 3 sentiment bubbles using Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine, Spellbinders – Die D-Lites Conversation Bubble 3 Etched Dies out of white cardstock. I stamped each of sentiments using a MISTI, Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and then embossed with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder. Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat the embossing powder. I ran each of the sentiment bubbles and my image through my Xyron Creative Station.

The inside of the card was now ready to assemble. I placed the 1 bubble sentiment at the top of the card and then using my image as a guide for placement, I attached the patterned balloon to the card first. The image was attached on top of it and then I added the bottom bubble sentiment. Lastly, I placed the final bubble sentiment to the card in between the other top 2 bubble sentiments to complete the card.

Thankfully, she loved her card and I hope you do too!

Best Friends

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Design –  Fido and Friend Girl from the new August 2022 release. This image comes with 2 other sentiments as well, “Admit it, life would be boring without me”, which is something that I always say to my husband, LOL! “Always better together” is another sentiment included with this adorable image.

The bond and love between a person and their pet is an unbreakable bond. We tend to share our happy times, hopes, dreams and sad times with them. They always listen to us and make us feel even better no matter what comes our way. We also share a lot of these times with our human best friends too, but I think our fur babies tend to know all of our secrets more than anyone.

To make my card this week, I started with a 6″ x 6″ card base using AC White cardstock. Stampin’ Up – Flowers For Every Season Designer Paper was applied to the base using double-sided tape. I cut a piece of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock to the size of 4.25″ x 5.5″. With various Picket Fence Studio Blender Brushes and a mixture of Tim Holtz Distress Oxide – Speckled Egg, Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink – Cracked Pistachio, Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink – Salty Ocean and Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink – Salvaged Patina, I created my own background that I wanted to use behind the image. Then, with my Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine and PinkFresh Studio Essentials – Blanket Stitched Oval, I die-cut an oval out of it and added some grass using Copic markers.

The image and sentiment were imported into Microsoft Word and printed out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The image was coloured in and then I fussy cut all around the image and used a black marker to go around all of the edges. The sentiment was also fussy cut and then I applied Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Fossilized Amber around the edges of it and also all around the sides of the card. Yellow ribbon and aqua ribbon were put together by first using double-sided tape to add the aqua portion to the yellow portion. Using my Xyron Create a Sticker, I ran the combined ribbon through it and then applied the ribbon to card, cutting off the excess on either side. U-Line double-sided tape was applied to the back of the die cut, image and sentiment pieces and then they were all popped up onto the card. Finally, YNS Gumdrops – Sugar Rush Sparkly were added to complete the card.
