Birthday Ssschmirth-day!

Today, I’m sharing a fun birthday card using Whimsy StampsMe-Wow Cat Birthday that I made for my father-in-laws 80th Birthday. He’s wasn’t too keen on turning 80 so I thought I would make this fun card for him! He loved it and I hope that you do too!

To create the card, I began with a card base of 5.5″ x 5.5″ using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. Echo Park Paper Co. – Happy Birthday Boy paper was cut to the same size as the base and adhered with double-sided tape. Using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Stitched Squares Inside and Out, I die cut a 3.5″ x 3.5″ square out of Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and a 4″ x 4″ square out of Recollections – Black cardstock.

Using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the image from Whimsy StampsMe-Wow Cat Birthday. The image was coloured in with Copic markers and then I stamped the image again onto a Post-It note and fussy cut around the balloon and upper half of the kitty to use it as a mask. I placed it over top of the coloured image and created the party background using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Squeezed Lemonade and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Wilted Violet which I applied using Blending Brushes. After the first layers were added, I used the same colours,  but this time I used Hero Arts – Party Confetti Stencil (Crop & Create Exclusive) to create the streamers. I removed the mask and put the image into my MISTI once again and this time, I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set using Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and then heat embossed it using Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder and Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. Lastly, U-Line double-sided tape was applied to the back of the image and the black square. These were then popped up onto the centre of the card.

Oh Puck! I Forgot!

Sharing a belated birthday card that I made today using Photo-PlayO Canada 2 Beaver & Hockey and Lawn Fawn – Let’s Go Nuts for the bottom half of the sentiment. I couldn’t resist this adorable beaver and it’s sentiment when I saw it. Can you guess what hockey team he plays for? LOL!

Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock was used to create a 5.5″ x 4.25″ card base. I cut the iced boards and ice to the size of 5.5″ x 1-7/8″ and coloured in the lines with copic markers using a ruler. I added a shadow where the beaver was going to be and then applied Wink of Stella – Clear onto the ice portion. I applied the rink portion to the base using double-sided tape. Echo Park Paper Co.Happy Birthday Boy paper was cut to the size of 5.5″ x 2-3/8″ and it was adhered to the card using liquid glue.

Using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the images onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. They were coloured in with Copic markers and then fussy cut. Using a black marker, I inked around all of the edges. U-Line double-sided tape was applied to the images and they were popped up onto the card.

Using my MISTI again and VersaMark ink, I stamped the sentiments onto Recollections – Black cardstock. Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail was applied to the ink and then heat embossed with a Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. U-Line double-sided tape was applied to the sentiments and they were popped up onto the card.

Today, I’m featuring this adorable image from Sweet Sentiment called Cake is Life. Thank you Sweet Sentiment for sponsoring us and having such amazing fun designs to choose from. I am a huge fan of your stamps.

For the base card, I used Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock and cut it and scored it to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. For the background, I cut some yellow cardstock to be the same size as the base card and adhered it with double-sided tape. Using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies, I die cut Echo Park Paper Co. – Happy Birthday Boy paper and inked the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Chipped Sapphire. This was adhered directly to the yellow background using double-sided tape.

Using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in the image and fussy cut around it. I ran the coloured image through my Xyron Creative Station and applied it to some matching Echo Park Paper Co. – Happy Birthday Boy cardstock. Once again, I fussy cut around it. This time, I popped the image onto the background using U-Line double-sided tape.

I stamped out the sentiment onto Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. paper, fussy cut around it and popped it up onto the base of the card using U-Line double-sided tape.

Happy 60th Birthday!

Hi One Crazy Stamper Fans!

Hello There! My brother turned 60 this year and so I had to have some fun with his card. LOL!  I thought the background paper was perfect for his card with all those candles.

I used the stamp from High Hopes Rubber Stamps called “Birthday Bob” and coloured in the image with Copic markers. I tried to colour the candles to match the background paper.

The sentiment was created in Microsoft Word using Cooper Black font and then printed out on my printer. Then I die cut it with My Creative Time – Stitched Circle Balloon Dies using my Cuttelbug and completed the edging around the balloon with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Fossilized Amber.

The main image and co-ordinating rectangles were all die cut with Your Next Stamp – Stitched Rectangle Die Set.

On the inside of the card I loved the sentiment:  Birthday Emergency (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) and Firefighter Dragon (High Hopes Rubber Stamps). My brother is also a Firefighter so I couldn’t resist the temptation! LOL!

Shake Your Ba-Donkey-Donk!

Hi There,

I’m excited to tell everyone that I’ve been accepted as a Card Designer for One Crazy Stamper High Hopes Stamps. Yay!!!

Today I’m sharing a birthday card that I made using a combination of High Hope Rubber Stamps – Party Donkey S113, Brayden’s Backside T066 and Warm Wishes S016. When I first saw the 2 donkey stamps, I knew just what I was going to do with them and it made me giggle just thinking about it! LOL! I hope that you get a giggle too!

I coloured in the High Hope Rubber Stamp – Party Donkey S113 on the front of the card and the fussy cut around the stamp. The cake is from the High Hopes Warm Wishes S016 stamp. I stamped it out and then fussy cut around it. I made the little flames using some spare yellow cardstock.

On the inside of the card, I decided to have some fun with the High Hopes – Brayden’s Backside T066. I stamped out the full image and then just the back haunches and tail. I coloured in both images and then fussy cut around them both. I attached the haunches using an Activation Wobble Spring. When you bring it to one side or the other. The butt shakes back and forth! LOL!

Here it is in action:
