Wild Flowers – Just A Note

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital DesignMilk Can – Wildflowers from the October 2022 release. This image comes with 2 other sentiments as well, “You make it beautiful” and “Some people, like flowers, just give pleasure by being“.

I created a 5.5″ x 4.25″ card base using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. The image and sentiment were imported into Microsoft Word and printed out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card.  Using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers, I die cut the printed image and sentiment. With the Gina Marie Designs – Loopy Rectangle Die Set and my Cuttlebug, I die cut Recollections – Matte Gold Foil cardstock. With Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Tumbled Glass and a finger dauber, the edges of the base card were inked all around. U-Line double-sided tape was applied to the back of the die cut and it was popped up onto the base card.

The image was coloured in with Copic markers. U-Line double-sided tape was applied to the back of the coloured image and it was popped up onto gold die cut. YNS – Cosmic Crush Gumdrops were added to complete the card.

Thank You!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a Thank You card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Gladiolas – TDG038 for the image. We are super excited to re-release 9 previously retired images today. This is the first image of many more to come!

It’s spring and my husband is busy in his garden, planting some beautiful flowers. Every year, he asks me what colours I would like to have in the garden and then he puts together a gorgeous display. Thank goodness he is taking care of them, because a green thumb is certainly something I was not blessed with. LOL!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. I cut Crafter’s Consortium – The Essential Craft Papers – Ink Drops – Ocean to be the same size as the base and adhered it with double-sided tape. I cut 2 .5″ strips of Recollections – Matte Gold Foil cardstock and adhered a piece on each side of the card using glue. I die cut the words “Thank You” using the same Matte Gold foil cardstock, PaperCrafter Today – 15 Die Cut Sentiment Set and my Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine. I ran the words through my Xyron Create a Sticker and set them to the side.

The image was stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and coloured in with Copic Markers. I fussy cut around the image and added some U-Line double-sided tape to the back of it. The images was then popped up onto card. I added the words “Thank You” that I had turned into stickers earlier to complete the card.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Gladiolas – TDG038 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Inks: Memento – Tuxedo Black

Paper: Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb., Recollections – Matte Gold Foil cardstock, Crafter’s Consortium – The Essential Craft Papers – Ink Drops – Ocean (6″ x 6″)

Die Cuts: PaperCrafter Today – 15 Die Cut Sentiment Set

Tools: MISTI – Most Incredible Stamping Tool, U-Line double-sided tape, Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine

Image coloured with Copic Markers:

Flower: B79, B66, B63, Y35, YR12

Leaves and Stem: G28, YG67, YG25, YG11

Hope you like it and have a fantastic week!

Better Late Than Never!!

Sharing a birthday card I made today using KLM Digital Design –  Stanley The Snail from the new May 2022 release. This image also comes with 2 more sentiments, “You snailed it!” and “Thanks SLOW much!”  Love this sentiment “Better late than never!” as it could be used for so many different occasions.

Using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, I created a base card of 5.5″ x 4.25″. Using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean, I created the clouds with Lawn Fawn Cuts – Cloudy Stencil directly on the base card. With the dies from Lawn Fawn – Simple Grassy Hillsides and Lawn Fawn – Watercolor Wishes Rainbow paper, I die cut 3 lawn cuts using my Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine.

I imported the image and sentiment into Microsoft Word and printed them out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The image was coloured in with Copic markers. Using scissors, I fussy cut around the coloured image and inked around the edges with a black marker. I cut the sentiment with my cutter and added U-Line double sided tape to it and popped it up onto the smallest lawn cut.

The card was now ready to assemble. I added U-Line double-sided tape to each layer of grass. I added a second layer of U-Line double sided tape to the middle layer. I used my fussy cut image to determine where the lawn cuts would be positioned and then popped up each layer onto the base. I applied some glue to the back of the image on the bottom only and adhered it to the card between the 2nd and 3rd layer of grass. I felt like the card still needed something, so I added 3 lady bugs from Forever In Time – Ladybug Gems and a butterfly from Doodlebug Design Inc. – Plum Butterflies Braddies to finish off my card.

Card Recipe:

Stamp and Sentiment:  Stanley the Snail – KLM Digital Designs

Inks: HP Printer Grayscale, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean

Paper: Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb., Lawn Fawn – Watercolor Wishes Rainbow – 6″ x 6″

Die: Lawn Fawn – Simple Grassy Hillsides

Stencil: Lawn Fawn Cuts – Cloudy Stencil

Miscellaneous: U-Line – 2 sided tape, Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine, Doodlebug Design Inc. – Plum Butterflies Braddies, Forever In Time – Ladybug Gems

Itty Bitty Heart!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a CAS card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Sweetheart Gnome – SLF012  for the main image. I just love this sweet little gnome image as you can change the sentiments that she is holding onto. On this card, I chose to add a heart as I thought it would go great with the sentiment Itty Bitty Heart – H006.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. For the background, I used my Cuttlebug, Scrapbook.com – Brights Smooth Cardstock and the embossing folder called Cuttlebug – Thank You. After putting this paper through my Cuttlebug, I saw that the texture was white on some of the letters. I decided to take some more of the background colour off using 3M 405N Tri-M-Ite sanding paper. I just loved the rustic effect it gave. With my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the image and sentiment onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock. The image was coloured in and fussy cut. A cutter was used to go around the sentiment. 3/8″ We R Memory Keepers Corner Chomper was used to create the rounded corners. I inked around all of the edges of the sentiment with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Barn Door.

To assemble the card, I attached the embossed background directly to the base using double-sided tape. The sentiment and image were both popped up onto the card using U-Line double-sided tape to complete the card.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Sweetheart Gnome – SLF012 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment: Itty Bitty Heart – H006 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Inks: Memento – Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Barn Door

Paper: Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb., Scrapbook.com – Brights Smooth Cardstock (4.25″ x 5.5″)

Die Cuts: Lawn Fawn – Valentine’s Hearts Border (Heart for message)

Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug – Thank You

Tools: MISTI – Most Incredible Stamping Tool, U-Line double-sided tape, Cuttlebug

Image coloured with Copic Markers:

Skin: E21, E11, E00, E000, R30, R20

Grocery Gnomes!!

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Design –  Grocery Gnome – Boy and Grocery Gnome – Girl from the new December release. I love these images as they are great for creating a card for our unspoken heroes who serve us everyday at the grocery stores.

I created the base using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. I cut the paper to the size of 5.5″ x 8.5″. Then I scored each side at 2-1/8″ each and folded them towards the centre. I die cut Photo-Play Autumn Greetings – Fruit Baskets paper using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies. This die cuts the paper to exactly 5.5″ x 4.25″. I then cut this piece into 2 using my cutter to create 2 equal pieces of 2-1/8″. Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Peeled Paint was used to ink around the edges of the 2 pieces. I applied these directly to the 2 front panels using liquid glue. I wanted to be able to keep the fronts closed, so I used my Cuttlebug and Pink Fresh Dies – Slim Stripes to die cut some green cardstock. I applied 1 longer piece to the left side at the top, 1 long piece to the bottom on the right side using liquid glue. Then I added a stripe on the remaining sides top and bottom with liquid glue to the length of 2-1/8″. On the inside of the card, I applied some 1/8″ tape to a small piece of the green stripes, cut at .5″ x .5″. This allows the longer flaps to slide into them to keep the card closed.

I imported the images and sentiment into Microsoft Word and printed them out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The images were coloured in with Copic markers and then fussy cut with scissors. U-Line double sided tape was applied to the backs of the images and they were popped up onto the card. Finally to finish it off, I applied small embellishments from Dress My Craft – Fruit Salad Slices with liquid glue across the top of the card.

The sentiment was die cut using My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies and my Cuttlebug. Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Peeled Paint was used to ink around the edges and double-sided tape was used to adhere it to the inside of the card.
