Purr-fect Day!!

Today, I’m sharing a birthday card that I made using Dreamerland Crafts stamps called Meow Meow 03 – D20015. This little kitten is having an amazing day, getting up early, playing, relaxing and then saying her prayers for the next day to be the same all over again. If we could all live the life of a spoiled kitten, life would be amazing! LOL!

To make this card I used a base card of 6.5″ x 8.25″ using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. I scored it at 3.25″.  Next, using my Couture Creations – Go Power and Emboss and Whimsy Stamps – Slimline Pillows Die, I die cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and Recollections – Petite Floral – Double Sided paper.  Using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped all of the images onto the various shaes and coloured them in with Copic markers. I created the sentiment using a ruler and Pigma Micron 03 black marker.

To assemble the card, I applied glue to the back of the patterned paper and attached it directly to the base. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Picked Raspberry was used to ink around all of the outside and inside edges of the die cut. For all of the images and sentiment, I first ran them through my Xyron Creative Station to turn them into stickers. Also, this would give me full coverage to lay them flat. I inserted each of them into their respective places of the die cut.

Card Recipe:

Have A Purr-fect Day!

Happy Canada Day to all of my fellow Canadians!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I used Kitty’s Perch – TLF021 from High Hopes Rubber Stamps new release for the main image and Pawsitively – G307 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. This happy little kitty is having a great day exploring and has taken some time out to wish you a “Pawsitively Purr-fect Day”!! Hopefully, he puts a little smile on your face!

For my card this week, I began with a white base card of 5.5″ x 4.25″. I cut some Recollections – Green cardstock the same size and adhered it directly on the front of the base. Then I used my Cuttlebug and Your Next Stamp – Stitched Rectangle Die Set using the various dies to create the layers using both the base green cardstock and also Recollections – Petite Floral. I adhered the next to layers directly to the base. Then popped up the last 2 layers with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. The image was coloured with Copic markers and was stamped using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card.

I used my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink for the sentiment as well, then I cut it to size and ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker and placed it directly over the 2nd layer. Lastly, to finish off the card, I added some Craft- Rhinestone Stickers over the flowered background.

Happy Mother’s Day Gnomes

Welcome Back KLM Digital Designs Fans!

KLM Digital Designs has just released some brand new stamps this month, and today I’m sharing Mom and Kids Gnomes (KLM Digital Designs)!  This new stamp contains adorable images of a mom, her children and 3 loving sentiments for your mother. A perfect new release for Mother’s Day!

For this card, I decided to create my own family. The digital stamps allow you to resize them to your preference, so I made one boy larger than the other to represent my older and younger brother.

To put the card together, I printed out the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and the sentiment onto Recollections – Purple Passions 8.5″ x 11″ paper. I coloured in the main image with copics and then mounted it onto purple Recollection’s paper.

I cut a piece of Recollections – Petite Floral – Double Sided paper to 6″ x 6″ and mounted it onto my 6″ x 6″ card base. I went around all of the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Wilted Violet. Then I cut the previously printed out sentiment to 6″ x 1.25″ and taped it onto the base card. Lastly, I mounted the coloured image with the purple frame onto the base card.

Card Recipe:

Spring is here!

Welcome One Crazy Stamper Fans!

It’s Wednesday, and I’m back to share these adorable hedgehogs who are so excited to smell the beautiful spring blossoms growing on the trees. I used Hedgies Spring Loaded (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) to create the scene. I added a little bit more to the tree off to the side.

I thought it would be fun to try colouring this stamp using various watercolour mediums and brushes.

I started off by stamping the image onto Arches Watercolour Paper, 140 lb. Cold Press.

Then I used a mixture of Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers, Tim Holtz Distress Inks, Derwent Watercolour pencils and a paint palette.

I created the clouds by using a cotton ball and soaked into a little bit of water and then tapping it onto the paper to lift some of the watercolour. Finally, I used Pigma Micron 02 Archival Ink Pen to outline the flowers and the Hedge Hogs. For the noses, I used a Sakura Glaze – Black Pen.

Supplies Used:

Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers: Chocolate, Sepia, TerraCotta

Derwent Watercolour Pencils: Brown Ochre 57, Raw Sienna 58, Copper Beach 61, Vandyke Brown 55

Inks: Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Ground Espresso, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Brushed Corduroy, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Gathered Twigs, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Picked Raspberry, Krafty Kolours – Totally Taupe Mini Ink Cube

Ai Watercolor Essentials Palette

Background Paper: Recollections – Petite Floral – Double Sided 12 x 12 in (30.4 x 30.4 cm)

MISTI – Most Incredible Stamping Tool

Brushes: Talkon H.I. Series – 970 White – #4, Legacy – Folk Art 1837 Perfect Liner #1, Bette Byrd “Aqua-Sable” 1600 Filbert 1\4

Ribbon: Ribbon Trends – Organdy Ribbon 029 White

Hope you like it and have a fantastic week!
