Do Not Stop!

Today I’m sharing an inspirational card using KLM Digital DesignSlow Ride Gnome from the new February release. This image also comes with 2 more sentiments, “Travel at your own pace” and “Life is a journey, not a race”.  It was hard for me to pick which sentiment to use as I loved them all. They are all so true to life.

Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock was used to create a 5.5″ x 4.25″ card base. I had found Crafts Designer Paper – 02-3080678 at Dollarama and thought this paper was perfect for this card. It was cut to the same size as the base card and adhered with double-sided tape.

The image and sentiment were imported into Microsoft Word and printed out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. With my Cuttlebug, I die cut the image using My Creative Time – Bunch of Fun Circle 3.25″ Dies. The larger circle was die cut using Recollections – Blue Ombre Cardstock and Lifestyle Crafts Cutting Dies – Nesting 3.5″ Circle. I trimmed down the sentiment to be 2.25″ x 1.5″. Using what was left on a blending brush that I used for blues, I lightly went over the paper to give it a light blue hue. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salvaged Patina was then inked around the 3 edges.

The image was coloured in with Copic Markers listed below. I printed out another copy of the image onto plain paper and fussy cut around the top portion. I applied some Washi Tape to the back of it to create a hinge and to mask the image. Using a blender brush, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean and Lawn Fawn Cuts – Cloudy Stencil, I created the clouds in the sky.

For the assembly of the card, I added double-sided tape to the back of the sentiment and adhered it directly to the card. U-Line double-sided tape was added to the backs of the larger and smaller circle and both were popped up onto each other and the card. Lastly, to finish off everything, I added in some YNS Gumdrops – Tropical Paradise.

Make Lemonade!

Today I’m sharing an inspirational card using KLM Digital DesignLemon Gnome from the new January release. This image also comes with 2 more sentiments, “I could just Squeeze you!” and “Squeeze the day”.  I’ve always loved lemons and they are good for so many different things, baking, tea and they are high in Vitamin C, just to name a few.

Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock was used to create a 5.5″ x 4.25″ card base. I had found Crafts Designer Paper – 02-3093268 at Dollarama and thought this paper was perfect for this card. I chose 2 patterns from this paper pack and cut the darker pattern to the size of 5.25″ x 2.25″ and the other piece to the size of 5.25″ x 2.75″. Two rectangles were cut out of Recollections – Black cardstock to the size of 5.5″ x 2.75″ and 5.5″ x 3″. With yellow cardstock and my Cuttlebug, I die cut the large oval using Waffle Flower – Additional Oval dies and the larger circle with Lifestyle Crafts Cutting Dies – Nesting Circles. All of the edges for the patterned pieces and the yellow die cuts were inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mustard Seed.

The image and sentiment were imported into Microsoft Word and printed out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. With my Cuttlebug, I die cut the large oval using Waffle Flower – Additional Oval dies and the smaller circle with My Creative Time – Bunch of Fun Circle Dies. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Squeezed Lemonade was applied to the outer edges of the smaller circle. The image was coloured in with Copic markers.

For the assembly of the card, I applied the 2 patterned pieces together with the black cardstock using double sided tape. I placed the colourful piece down first onto the base card and then the second piece was applied over top of that one. Both were adhered with double-sided tape. The image and the sentiment were both popped up onto the larger oval and larger circle using U-Line Double-Sided tape. I applied U-Line Double-Sided tape to the backs of these combined pieces and then popped them both up onto the card. Finally, I added in some YNS Gumdrops – Tropical Paradise around the sentiment to complete the card.

Eat Cake!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a birthday card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Cupcake Hedgie – TDG035 for the image and Eat Cake – FDG026 for the sentiment. I think the expression on this little hedgie says it all! Birthdays should always be an excuse to eat some cake! LOL!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. I adhered Scrapbook.com – Brights Smooth Cardstock which was the same size as the base to the card using double-sided tape. Using my Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine die cutting machine, I die cut the cake background paper with Your Next Stamp Designer Pad – Birthday Boy and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Blueprint Sketch was then inked around all of the edges. I add some U-Line double-sided tape and popped it up onto the base card. Again, using my Empress die cutter, I die cut some golden yellow cardstock using My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out. I added some U-Line double sided tape and added it to the patterned background. Waffle Flower – Nesting Square dies were used to die cut the smaller square out of Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and My Creative Time – Bunch of Fun Circle Die was used to die cut the circle from some Red cardstock.

The image and sentiment were stamped onto the Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in the image with Copic Markers. I added Stickles – Star Dust to the cupcake to make the layers sparkle. A 1.5″ Circle punch was used to cut out the sentiment. U-Line double sided tape was added to the backs of the image and sentiment. I popped up the image onto the smaller square and the sentiment onto the red circle. I added another layer of U-Line double sided tape to the right side of the red circle and a little bit of glue to the left side and popped it up over top of the main image. To finish off the card, I added on some YNS Gumdrops – Firefly Magic Sparkly Gumdrops and YNS Gumdrops – Sugar Rush Sparkly Gumdrops.

Smooth Sailing Ahead!!

Today, I’m sharing a card that I made using Dreamerland Crafts stamps called Wishing you a smooth sailing ahead – DCS1703. This card could be used to wish someone smooth sailing for cruising, retirement or for a new job position or even if you knew someone who just bought a new boat for fun! The stamp set also comes with 2 more sentiments, “on a Journey to find Happiness” and “Taking a break from my daily routine”.

To make this card I used a base of 5.5″ x 4.25″ using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. Recollections – Black cardstock was die cut to the size of 4.75″ x 3.5″ using Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers. Using the same machine and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies, I die cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card to the size of 4.5″ x 3.75″. The main image was stamped using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I stamped the images again onto Post-It Note paper to create a mask and fussy cut around them. After stamping the main image, I placed the masking of the little girl in the boat on top of the inked image as shown below.

I stamped the mountains starting from the left side, while still using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. The mountain mask was applied over top of them and I stamped another set of mountains so that they looked like they were behind the first set of mountains. I continued to do this going across the image to create a mountain range. Then, I removed all of the masks and coloured in the image using copic markers.  Copic – Opaque White was used to create the crests of the waves and Stampin’ Up – Whisper White Ink and a small #2 round brush were used to create the clouds in the sky. Versamark, my MISTI and Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail were used to add in the birds from the same stamp set. Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat emboss the powder. I added U-Line double-sided tape to the back of the image and popped it up onto the black rectangle.

Using my MISTI, Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder, I stamped and embossed the sentiment onto Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat emboss this as well. Using Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine and My Creative Time – Bunch of Fun Circle Dies, I die cut the sentiment with a 1.25″ circle. With a 1.5″ circle punch, I die cut Recollections – Black cardstock. I added U-Line double-side tape to the back of the sentiment and popped it up onto the larger black circle. I added a double layer of the U-Line double-side tape to the right of the black rectangle on each side and popped up the larger black circle to the bottom right of the card. YNS Gumdrops – Ice Ice Baby Sparkly Gumdrops were added to the top left corner of the card to finish it off.

Hedgies Happy Birthday!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a birthday card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Hedgie Stack – TDG027 for the image and Mini Sentiment Set #1 – HLL001 for the sentiment. These little hedgies are excited to wish someone special a very Happy Birthday!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 5.5″. I cut the Crafter’s Companion – Luxury Cardstock – Gold cardstock background paper to the size of 5.5″ x 5.5″ and adhered it directly to the base using double-sided tape. AITOH Origami – Print Chiyogami – Butterflies paper was cut to the size of 5.25″ x 5.25″ and glued on top of the gold paper. Using my Couture Creations – Go Power and Emboss and PinkFresh Essentials: Folk Edge Squares, I die cut another square from Crafter’s Companion – Luxury Cardstock – Gold and Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I popped up the gold die cut onto the floral background using U-Line double-sided tape. I stamped the main image onto the Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black.

The image was coloured in with Copic Markers. I used a Gelly Roll Sakura #5 Pen to create some more texture in the fur by just dabbing it everywhere. I’m hoping that it looks like little spikes at the end of their fur. I applied U-Line double-sided tape to the back of the coloured image and popped it up onto the gold die-cut. I stamped the sentiment using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. Using a 3/4″ punch, I punched out the circle surrounding the sentiment. Then, using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Bunch of Fun Circle Dies, I die cut a slightly larger circle out of a scrap piece of gold paper from Crafter’s Companion – Luxury Cardstock – Gold. I ran the sentiment through my Xyron Create a Sticker and attached it directly to the gold circle. Using some U-Line double-sided tape, I popped it up onto the coloured image. I die cut the circle for the sentiment using some spare Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock using My Creative Time – Bunch of Fun Circle Dies and the ornament pieces using My Creative Time – Fun Stitched Ornaments & More and some scrap Red Cardstock and Hammermill Cardstock. Using a
Pïlot Silver Marker – Medium Point pen, the top piece was coloured in.

The image and sentiment were then applied using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured in the image with copic markers. Then I added Stickles – Diamond to the lady’s cuffs, dress trim, hat and collar and Stickles – Icicle to the man’s hat, pompom, collar, cuffs and trim on his coat. I also added this to the boy’s pompoms. Using the Pïlot Silver Marker – Medium Point pen, I traced around the outside of the circle for the sentiment.

Once everything on the image was dry, I applied double-sided tape to the back of it and applied the image to the top of the dark green layer. 3M VHB – 2 sided tape was added to the back of the sentiment and ornament ball. Hug in a Mug!

Coffee Loving Cardmakers is currently hosting the 2020 Fall / Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! For my second entry into this hop, I chose the adorable stamp from (My Creative Time) called Cute Mugs – MCT326.

To create this card, I first used my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Bunch of Fun Circle Dies to cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card paper. The image was stamped onto the die-cut with Memento – Tuxedo Black using my MISTI – Most Incredible Stamping Tool to get a nice clean image. I coloured in the image with Copic markers and then stamped the image again on the same paper that I used for the background and fussy cut around the tea-cup piece. I used a black marker to go around the edges and then paper-pieced it into place using some glue. I die cut the sign using Spellbinders – Shapeabilities S4-322 Grommet Tags and also the background circle using some scrap yellow paper. The sentiment was then stamped on using Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder was applied on top. Then, I used Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool to heat emboss the powder. I also die cut some red hearts with the die-cut that came with the stamp set.

I cut the background pattern from My Mind’s Eye – Lost and Found paper and then used Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Antique Linen to go around the edges. I also used this ink to go around all of my other die cuts.

The card was now ready to assemble. I adhered the background to a base card of 6″ x 6″. Then using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape, I popped up the 2 circles and sign. I added a couple of brads to the sign before adding the tape. I ran the hearts through my Xyron Create a Sticker to make them into stickers and added them around the kitty to complete my card.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Cute Mugs (My Creative Time)

Inks: Memento – Tuxedo Black, Versa Fine – Onyx Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Antique Linen

Dreams Take Flight!!

Today, I’m featuring a card I made using Embrace Your Dream – D19039  from Dreamerland Crafts. My dad always dreamed of flying and he would build all kinds of model airplanes. Then one day he decided to build a real plane with the assistance of his brother and a friend. It took them a long time, but in the end it was a beautiful plane and the best part was that we were all taken for rides in it. It’s an experience we will never forget. So just as my dad followed his dreams, he taught us all to follow our dreams as well. If you dream about something long enough, eventually it will become a reality for you. So never be afraid to follow your dreams.

To make this card I used a white base card of 4.25″ x 5.5″. The background was die cut using My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Die Layers – MCT-D274 and my Cuttlebug. The paper is from Doodlebug Design Inc. – I Love Travel. Once die cut, the edges were inked around using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean. I also used this colour to do the clouds in the sky on the image. I adhered the background to the base using glue so that I could move it around to fit better.

The sentiment was stamped using my MISTI, VersaMark ink and Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail and the stamp from Kraftin’ Kimmie – Sky’s The Limit. The powder was then heat embossed with Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. It was die cut using My Creative Time – Sentiment Label Dies.

The image was die cut using My Creative Time – Bunch of Fun Circle Dies from Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The circle behind the main image was die cut with My Creative Time – More Stitched Circles MCT-D136 from black cardstock. I coloured in the entire image with Copic markers and then created a mask. I added in the clouds and used a small piece of old rag and some rubbing alcohol to create some texture in the grass.

To assemble the card, I ran the main image through Xyron Creative Station to make like a sticker and so that it would lay completely flat on the black circle. 3M VHB – 2 sided tape was used to pop up the main image and sentiment to complete the card.

Card Recipe:

Magical Friendship

It’s Wednesday, and this week, we are celebrating a brand new August 2020 Release with variety of fun new images! Be sure to go and check them out, you won’t be disappointed.

Today, I’m using Dreamy Dragon – SLF019 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for my main image from this new release along with the sentiment Magic Friendship – F234 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps). This little dragon looks so peaceful and it looks like he’s found a new friend too!

To make my card this week, I started out with a simple white card sized at 5.5″ x 5.5″. Then cut Recollections – Petite Floral paper to the same size and taped it down onto the base card. Next, Kraftin’ Kimmie – Purple Petunia ink was used to ink around the card. Another piece was cut from the same paper collection at 1.25″ x 5.5″ and Kraftin’ Kimmie – Party Peach ink was used to ink around the edges. The cardstock was put through my Xyron Create a Sticker and then mounted on top of the base card.

Next, My Creative Time – Bunch of Fun Circle Dies and my Cuttlebug were used to die cut the scalloped circle background out of Recollections – Purple Passions and circle for the main image out of Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The main image and sentiment were both stamped with Memento – Tuxedo Black Ink using my MISTI. The image was coloured in with Copic markers and then the sentiment was die cut using My Creative Time – Sentiment Label Dies. I traced around the outside of the die and then cut it out of the same Recollections – purple paper so that the die cut piece would have a thin border around it. I ran the sentiment through my Xyron and adhered it directly on top of it. I cut off one side of the label so that it would be flush with the edge of the card. The same purple ink used earlier was used again to edge around it. The image, sentiment and large scalloped circle was then popped up with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

Once this was done, Stickles – Purple was used to go around the edges of the large scallop and Stickles – Icicle was used to go around the main image. Lastly, a few flowers from Crafts – Mini Fabric Flower Picks were added to finish off the card.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Dream Dragon – SLF019 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Friends for Heifer!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I used Clarabelle and Riley – Q032 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the main image and Friends for Heifer – G183 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Riley thought Clarabelle could use a big hug. It will be so nice when we can get back together again with friends and family and give them a big hug too!

To make my card this week, I thought I would keep it simple. I thought the cow print from Doodle Bug Designs Inc. – Down on the Farm went with this card beautifully. I stamped the image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and then coloured the image in with Copic Markers. Once I coloured the image in, I carefully placed it behind the patterned paper and then placed it onto my card base sized 5.5″ x 5.5″. I inked around the edges of the card with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot and added a little black bow to finish it off.

Card Recipe:

It’s Pasture Birthday!

Welcome One Crazy Stamper Fans!

It’s Wednesday, and I’m back to share a card that I made using Farmer Clem (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) on the front of the card and Charlie Party Cow (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) on the inside. A friend asked me to create her a belated birthday card for her farmer friend and I thought this made the perfect combination to do it.

I coloured in Farmer Clem (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) and then fussy cut around him and popped him up on the front of the card. All of the sentiments were created in Microsoft Word and then printed out on my printer. Details are below.

Faery Ink Birthday Card

Hi There,

Sharing a birthday card that I made using the fairy for this month’s challenge over at Faery Ink using Fairy2 image.

FaeryInkBDCard

Here is a close up:

FaeryInkBDCard-CU

I printed the image and coloured it in using my Spectrum Noir markers. Details of colouring image are below.

Then I fussy cut out the image.

I wanted her to look like she was floating in water and mystical, so I used watercolour paper and Ken Oliver Crafts Color Burst Turquoise and Ultramarine Blue. As the paper was drying I sprinkled some Sea salt onto the paper and just love the effect that it created. I also used my hot gun to dry the paper a little faster.

Positioned circle die from Lifestyle Crafts Cutting Dies – Nesting Circles to cut out the portion of the background that I wanted.

Next I cut out the dark blue background using AC Specialty Paper 5 x 7 foil with die cut from My Creative Time – Bunch of Fun Circle Dies.

Used Lifestyle Crafts Cutting Dies – Nesting Circles to cut out the larger circle and then embossed the circle with We R Memory Keepers Polka Dot Embossing Folder. Inked around the edges with Stampin Up! Tempting Turquoise Ink.

Lastly, I used the new free embossing folder that came with Simply Cards and Papercraft Magazine – Issue 148. I used DCWV Cardstock Neutrals paper and then once the image was embossed I used very light sandpaper to go over the image and bring out the white core to enhance the image.

I layered all of the above using 3M VHB tape.

Lastly, I stamped “Happy Birthday” from Jennifer Ellory – Bake a Cake Clear Stamps with VersaMark ink and Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail

Spectrum Noir Markers Used:

Hair: GB1, GB3, GB6

Eyes: LG2, Gelly Roll Sakura #8 Pen

Wings: BT2, TB2 (Added Wink of Stella – Clear for sparkle)

Dress: BT2, TB2, IB2 (Added Wink of Stella – Clear for sparkle)

Leaves: CG1, DG2, DG4

Roses: DR2, DR4, DR6
