Sweet Note of Thanks!

Today I’m sharing a Thank-you card using Your Next StampMusic Bunny – CYNS262. I was recently on a cruise and we met some new wonderful couples that sat at the tables next to ours and we exchanged information. Unknown to us until the final evening, the couple that sat directly beside us was Steven Gilliland and his wonderful wife Diane. Steven happens to be a very well known acclaimed author and public speaker. My husband and I were so happy when Steven sent us a few of his books, “Making a Difference” and a “Cherry On Top”. Steven had personally autographed them to us as well. What a kind and awesome gesture and it was very much appreciated. We are currently reading his books and just love them. As a thank you for their kind generosity, I sent them this card from my husband and I.

To create the card, I began with a card base of 5.5″ x 5.5″ using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. I cut Recollections – Matte Gold Foil cardstock to be the same size as the base card and applied double-sided tape to it. This was adhered directly to the base card. Next, I cut a piece of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock to the size of 5.25″ x 5.25″. I sprayed some water onto the paper and then using Kraftin’ Kimmie – Musical Melodies stencil I placed it on top of the paper and ran it through my Cricut Die Cutting machine to emboss the paper. Once the paper was dry, I placed the stencil over top of the paper again and this time, using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot and a blending brush, I coloured in the musical notes. I also inked around the edges with the same ink and a mini dauber.

Using my Cuttlebug and PinkFresh Studio – Essentials – Blanket Stitched Square 4″ dies, I die cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The main image was stamped onto this die cut using Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI. I coloured in the image and created my own background. Once this was completed, I put the image back into my MISTI and stamped the sentiment using Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink. Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder was applied over top of the ink and then heat embossed with a Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. The little notes were added with Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and a miniature stamping block. I just chose several notes and stamped them randomly around the image. I felt like the image was still missing something, so I decided to take my Copic black marker (100) and using the lines from the die cut as a guide, coloured in every second stripe. I thought this made it look like a piano keyboard. Lastly, My Creative Time – Stitched Squares Inside and Out 4.5″ were used to die cut Recollections – Matte Gold Foil cardstock.

The card was now ready to assemble. I added U-Line double-sided pop-up tape to the back of the music square, gold square and image. Each of them were popped onto each other and centred onto the base card.

By The Moonlight!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a Hallowe’en card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps By The Moonlight – TT047 for the image and Block Happy Halloween – FF049 for the sentiment. These little friends are ready for some spooky fun on Hallowe’en.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb., cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. I die cut the background from Stampin’ UP! – Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper to be the same size as the base. Using a combination of Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot, Villainous Potion, Seedless Preserves and Fossilized Amber and finger daubers, I added some extra colour to the background. Martha Stewart – Hallowe’en Washi Tape was placed across the bottom. I cut Doodlebug Design Inc. – Hallowe’en Parade cardstock to the size of 1-1/8″ x 4.25″. I ran this through my Xyron Create a Sticker and adhered it to the base card above the washi tape.

I stamped the main image and sentiment onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. The main image was a little short for the full width of the card so I added some double-sided tape to a couple scraps of Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock and adhered them to both sides of the fence. The image and sentiment were then both coloured in. The image was fussy cut and U-Line double-sided tape was applied to it. I popped it up onto the card and then cut off the excess from the fence on both sides.  I cut around the sentiment and then ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker and applied it to a piece of Recollections – Black cardstock. Once again, I used my cutter to go around the sentiment, leaving a slight border. U-Line double-sided tape was applied to the back of the sentiment and it was popped up onto the striped paper background to complete the card.

Kitty In Training!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a Hallowe’en card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Kitty In Training – TT052 for the image and Happy Halloween Script – F232 for the sentiment. Hallowe’en is one of our favourite times of year and my husband likes to go all out decorating our front yard. I always have fun finding new animated toys to add to our decorations and love seeing the little trick or treaters faces light up when they come to our house.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb., cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. I die cut the background paper from Pebbles – Boo! cardstock to be the same size and attached it to the base using double-sided tape. Using My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers and my Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine, I die cut Scrapbook.com – Brights Smooth Cardstock for the larger frame. Using the same machine, I die cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock using My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies. The thin stripes were die cut using Scrapbook.com – Rainbow Smooth Cardstock and PinkFresh Studio – Slim Stripes dies. Lastly, I cut a black strip using Recollections – Black cardstock to the size of 4.25″ x 1-3/8″.

I stamped the main image onto the Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card die cut using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and coloured it in. The sentiment was stamped onto a scrap piece of orange paper cardstock using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black and then it was die cut using my cutting machine and Gina K Designs – Sentiment Strips.

The card was now ready to assemble. I ran the thin strips through my Xyron Create a Sticker and adhered them to the black strip leaving small spaces in between them to be the same as the witch’s socks. I ran this whole piece through my Xyron Create a Sticker again so that it would lay completely flat when I adhered it to the base card. I added U-Line double-sided tape to the backs of the rectangles and sentiment and popped up all of the layers onto the card. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot was used to ink around all of the edges of the card and Stickles – Diamond was added to the small dots at the top of the card above the stripe lines. Gelly Roll Sparkle Pen was added to the sky to create some sparkly stars.

Card Recipe:

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. Doodle Bug Designs Inc. – Down on the Farm cardstock background paper was cut to the size of 5.5″ x 4.25″ and adhered directly to the base using double-sided tape. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot and a finger dauber were used to ink around all of the edgs of the card. Using my Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine and dies from Whimsy Stamps – Wavy Nested Frame Dies Set, I die cut one pattern out of Recollections – Black cardstock and a smaller cut from Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. Using PinkFresh Studio – Slim Stripes dies and my Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine, I die cut some black stripes using the half-inch die from Recollections – Black cardstock. I added some U-Line double-sided tape to the backs of the 2 black pieces and popped them up onto the patterned background. Using scisssors, I cut off the excess from the black stripe after it was adhered to the base.

I stamped the main image and sentiment onto the Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black. The image was coloured in with Copic Markers. I used a Sakura Glaze – Black pen, and Gelly Roll Sakura #8 Pen to create the eyes. After the image was coloured in, I added some U-Line double-sided tape to it and popped it up onto the black die cut. Using my machine again, I die cut the sentiment using Gina K Designs – Sentiment Strips. This was popped up with Scrapbook Adhesives – Black 3D Foam Strips onto the black stripe. To finish off my card, I added 2 little button cows on either side of the sentiment from Dress It Up – In the Barnyard and Dress It Up – Mooove It.

Somebunny Loves You!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Bunny Blossoms – TDG024 for the image and Some Bunny – FDG032 for the sentiment. I just love this super adorable little bunny taking time to smell the flowers. Spring is here, but the winter snow keeps playing tricks on us still. LOL! We just had another snow storm the other day. I thought April was supposed to bring Spring showers, not Spring snow!!!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of AC Cardstock – White, cut and scored to be 6″ x 6″. I cut the Recollections – Matte Gold Foil cardstock background paper to the size of 6″ x 6″ and adhered it directly to the base using double-sided tape. Crafts Designer Paper – 02-3093268 was cut to the size of 5.75″ x 5.75″ and inked around the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot. I applied U-Line double-double sided tape and popped the paper onto the gold backing. Using my Couture Creations – Go Power and Emboss and Waffle Flower – Nesting Square dies, I die cut another square from Recollections – Matte Gold Foil cardstock and Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I popped up the gold square onto the bunny background and stamped the main image onto the Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black.

The image was coloured in with Copic Markers. I though I’d go out of my comfort zone this week to create this sky with a variety of different colours. I thought it still needed something more so I added in some clouds using a PrimaColor Pencil – White. I also added in some extra fur with PrimaColor Pencil – Beige. Once, I was satisfied with the sky, I added U-Line double-sided tape to the back of it and it too was popped up onto the card. The sentiment was stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black. I fussy cut around it and then applied it to a small piece of Recollections – Matte Gold Foil cardstock using repositionable tape. I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around the image with a slight border. I coloured around the circle stamped image with RV000 and then used a black marker to go all around the edges. I applied U-Line double-sided tape and popped it up onto the gold die-cut. Lastly, 2 layers of the U-Line double-sided tape were applied to the right side only of the sentiment and glue to the left and attached it to the base coloured paper to finish off the card.

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Bunny Blossoms – TDG024 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment: Some Bunny – FDG032 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Inks: Memento – Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot

Moo-Chas Grass-ius!!

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Designs –  Udderly Fun from the new September release. This stamp also comes with 2 other fun sayings, “Have a moo-tiful day” and “Your Moo-velous!”

To make the card, I first imported the image and sentiment into Microsoft Word and printed them out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. Using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Die Layers, I die cut the image and then coloured it in with Copic markers leaving a thin white border from the dotted line. Using My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies, I die cut black cardstock to create a border for the image and put them together using double-sided tape. The larger dies from this same set were used to die cut the background from Doodle Bug Designs Inc. – Down on the Farm paper.

I die-cut the sentiment using Whimsy Stamps – Quick Strips Die Set. Then, I traced around the outer edge of the die with a coloured pencil onto black cardstock so that I could see the lines. I used my cutter and scissors to create a smaller outer border for the sentiment.

For the base card, I used Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock and cut it and scored it to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. Using double-sided tape, I adhered the patterned paper directly to the base and inked around the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot. The sentiment was added to the black cardstock die cut using double-sided tape. I added some 3M – 2 sided tape to the backs of the image and sentiment and they were both popped up on top of the base to complete the card.

Happiness

Hi Everyone! It’s the new year and it’s never too early to start making your Christmas cards. Today, I’m featuring a Christmas card from Dreamerland Crafts new Christmas release called Happiness Is Time Spent With A Good Friend – D20009.

To create this card, I first stamped my images using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink.  The images were coloured in with Copic markers. Then I fussy cut around them and went around the edges with a black marker and set them aside.

Next, I worked on the background. I cut Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. to the size of 4.25″ x 5.5″. I created the sky using the Tim Holtz inks listed below and then added in some snow using Stamperi – Glamour Paste – Sparkling White and sprinkling on some Martha Stewart Crafts – Crystal Fine Glitter while it was still wet. I then set this aside to dry. Once the paste was dry, I stamped the sentiment using VersaMark ink. The sentiment was embossed with Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail and Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat set the embossing powder.

The bench was die cut using Joy Crafts – Floral Flourishes – 6002/0191, my Cutttlebug and Tim Holtz – Idea-ology – Christmas paper. Shadows were added in using T5 Copic Marker. I created a base card using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. to the size of 4.25″ x 5.5″. I added double-sided tape to the coloured background and adhered it directly to the base. Using double-sided tape, I added the bench to the background. I popped up the images on the bench using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. The snow and stars were added in using a combination of Gelly Roll Sakura #8 Pen and Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen. Sequins was added from some mixed sparkles I had.

To finish off the card, I added in some Cosmic Shimmer – Fluffy Puff around the bottom of each of the legs of the bench and also onto the trim of the girl’s cape, kitten’s cape and pompom. Lastly, I added some Stickles – Diamond onto the snow and the girl’s cape for added texture.

Sending You Tidings

Today, I’m featuring a Christmas card by Dreamerland Crafts using their stamp set called Sending You Tidings – D19072. Growing up in the North, we used to get a lot of snow. I always love looking out the window and seeing the snow fall and how beautiful it looks on the houses and trees. Driving in it, not so much, but everything else about winter, I love. LOL!

To make this card, I cut some Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card to the size of 4.75″ x 3.5″ using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers Dies. Then using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black, I stamped the image first onto the paper and then again on to Post-It Note to create a mask. I fussy cut around the mask and placed it to the side to use a little later. I then proceeded to colour in my image with Copic markers.

Once the colouring of the image was complete, I was ready to create the sky. To accomplish this, the mask that I had set aside earlier was placed over top of the coloured image. A mixture of Tim Holtz Distress Inks were then used: Black Soot, Chipped Sapphire, Blueprint Sketch and Dusty Concord inks. Once, the background was completed, I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set using my MISTI and VersaMark ink. The sentiment was then embossed with Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail and Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat set the embossing powder.

I was now ready to add the final finishing touches. To do this, I added in the snowflakes and stars using Gelly Roll Sakura #10, #8 and #5 Pens. Stickles – Cool Mint was added to the little lady’s hat, pom-pom and coat cuffs. Gina K Designs – Glitz Glitter Gel was applied with a spatula along the bottom of the card to create some sparkling snow and also to the top of the chimney with a Q-Tip. I also coloured in the little snowflake in the sky with Gelly Roll Sakura #10 pen and then Gelly Roll Stardust – Clear to make it sparkle. I set the card aside to let the glitter dry for a few hours.

For the card base I used Recollections – Winter 4.25″ x 5.5 and edged around all of the sides with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Iced Spruce. I die cut Hot Buy Craft Smart – Holiday Glitz Glitter Paper to the size 3.75″ x 5″ using My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies and Cuttlebug. This was adhered directly onto the base using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. Once the glitter was completely dry, I layered the completed image on top of the second layer using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

Santa in the Chimney!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week I’m sharing a Christmas card featuring Santa in Chimney – S202 from (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) paired with the sentiment Bold – From One Flake – K201 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps). December is almost here and Santa is on his way to deliver all of the goodies to everyone. Hope your not on the naughty list. LOL!

To create the card this week, I stamped the main image and then coloured it in with Copic Markers. I stamped the image again and used it as a mask. I have a magnetic cutting mat, so I just used a very strong magnet to hold the mask down. Then I used multiple Tim Holtz Distress Inks to create the sky.

Once the sky was created, I removed the mask and used My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame to die cut the image. I added the sentiment using the top half of the sentiment stamp only. To do this, using my MISTI to get a good clean stamped image, I used VersaMark Ink and then embossed it with Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail. This was then heated using Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool.

To finish off my background, I added in some snowflakes and stars using Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen and Gelly Roll Sakura #5 Pen. For the eyes and notches on the belt, Sakura Glaze – Black ink was used. For the snow on the roof top, Gina K Designs – Glitz Glitter Gel was applied with a little sprinkle of Martha Stewart Crafts – Crystal Fine Glitter. Stickles was added to the hat, collar and cuffs of Santa’s outfit.

To create the layers, I first die cut Hot Buy Craft Smart – Holiday Glitz Glitter Paper with My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers and then the dark blue panel with My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame dies. For the card, I used Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. paper, which was cut at 8.5″ x 5.5″ and then scored at 4.25″ and to create a base card of 4.25″ x 5.5″.

To assemble the remainder of the card. I placed the dark blue layer directly to the base using double-sided tape. The silver layer was applied the same way. The coloured image was then popped up using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

Stamp: Santa in Chimney – S202 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Wishing You The Best

Today, I’m featuring a Christmas card by Dreamerland Crafts using their stamp set called Wishing You and Your Family – D19069. I decided to make the scene a snowy night, because when we were little, we used to go at dusk to pick up out our new tree. It was always so much fun!

To make this card, I cut some Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card to the size of 5.5″ x 4.25″. Then using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black, I stamped the image first onto the paper and then again on to Post-It Note to create a mask. I fussy cut around the mask and placed it over top of the main image. To create my background I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot, Chipped Sapphire, Blueprint Sketch and Dusty Concord inks. Once they were all blended and I was satisfied with the look, I spritzed some water on top and then placed some paper towel over top to pick up some of the droplets.

I removed the mask and proceeded to colour in the main image with Copic markers. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set using my MISTI and VersaMark ink. The sentiment was then embossed with Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail and Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat set the embossing powder.

I was now ready to add the final finishing touches. To do this, I added in the snowflakes and stars using Gelly Roll Sakura #8 Pen and Stickles – Cool Mint to the little lady’s hat and scarf. Gina K Designs – Glitz Glitter Gel was applied with a spatula along the bottom of the card to create some sparkling snow. I set the card aside to let the glitter dry for a few hours.

Once everything was dry, I attached it to a white base card of 5.5″ x 4.25″ using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. paper with double-sided tape.

I Don’t Bite….Usually!!

Today I’m sharing  Vampire Gnome (KLM Digital Designs) image from the October release. This adorable little Gnome comes with 5 different sentiments. Two of them, I have used here. The others are “2020 Sucks”, “Bats About You” and “Don’t Let These Times Drain You”. I love this little gnome and with these fun sentiments, there are so many different cards that you can make.

I printed out the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around the image and coloured it in with Copic markers.  I added some Clear – Wink of Stella to the stars, moon and coloured squares on his hat and gown. The sentiments were printed out on orange cardstock. I cut them and then inked around the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Spiced Marmalade.

For the oval, I used Echo Park – I Love Halloween paper and die cut using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Scalloped Stitched Oval Dies. I also, used this paper on the top and bottom of my card. For the centre background, I used To Every Season – Stampin’ Up paper. I used some double-sided tape to join the top paper with stars to the haunted house background. Then I cut the background to 5.25″ x 4″ and inked around all of the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot. I also used the same ink to go around the edges of the oval.

To assemble the card, I began with an orange card base of 5.5″ x 4.25″ by using a pre-cut card by The Paper Studio – Primary Base Colours. The edges were all inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot. The background was adhered to the base using double-sided tape. The image, sentiments and oval were both popped up using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. Finally, some Recollections Bling Stickers were added as embellishments to finish off the card.

Card Recipe:

Stamp and Sentiments: Vampire Gnome (KLM Digital Designs)

Inks: HP Printer Grayscale, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Spiced Marmalade

Witchy Poo’s Happy Hallowe’en!!!

It’s Wednesday, and Sitting Witchy Poo from (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) is back again to celebrate a Happy Hallowe’en and wondering what to do with all her candy.  My husband and I just LOVE Hallowe’en! We try to decorate our yard every year for the little ghosts and goblins who come to visit and we give out lots and lots of candy. Our front lawn gets turned into a grave yard for a day with spooky black cats, crows, skeletons, and more. On the porch we put out all of the animated little toys and of course the talking skeletons playing poker at the Bistro table. LOL! The children just love it and so do the parents! LOL!

To create the card this week, I stamped the main image and then coloured it with Copic Markers listed below. I fussy cut around Witchy Poo leaving just a little bit of white around the top of her body, but going directly to the line for the bottom of her. Flag Banner Dies from Craftin’ Desert Diva’s (restired) were used for the die cut and then the sentiment was stamped onto it. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Carved Pumpkin was applied around the edges to create a frame around the orange cardstock.

To create the background, Pebbles – Boo! paper was used. I wanted to add something a little extra so I pulled out my Kraftin’ Kimmie – Bats and Moons Stencil and applied Nuvo Glimmer Paste – Amethyst Purple! I just love the way it turned out. The bottom piece of cardstock was cut at 1″ x 5.5″. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot was used to go around all of the edges of the top and bottom piece.

Once everything was dry my card was ready to be assembled. I began with a standard white card base of 4.25″ x 5.5″. I mounted the coloured circles and bats cut at the same size directly on top of the base with 2-sided tape. I did the same with the candy on the very bottom. The image and the sentiment were both popped up with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. Finally, to cover some of my paste boo-boos, I added in some candy corn from Dress My Craft – Dessert Mix.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Sitting Witchy Poo – S151 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment: Happy Halloween – H232 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Inks: Memento – Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Carved Pumpkin, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot

Friends for Heifer!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I used Clarabelle and Riley – Q032 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the main image and Friends for Heifer – G183 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Riley thought Clarabelle could use a big hug. It will be so nice when we can get back together again with friends and family and give them a big hug too!

To make my card this week, I thought I would keep it simple. I thought the cow print from Doodle Bug Designs Inc. – Down on the Farm went with this card beautifully. I stamped the image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and then coloured the image in with Copic Markers. Once I coloured the image in, I carefully placed it behind the patterned paper and then placed it onto my card base sized 5.5″ x 5.5″. I inked around the edges of the card with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot and added a little black bow to finish it off.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Clarabelle and Riley – Q032  (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment: Friends for Heifer – G183 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Love Every Little Moment

Welcome Back Dreamerland Craft Fans!

Today, I’m sharing a card that I made using Mix and Match Clear Stamps (DC19095) (Dreamerland Crafts)!  Love the images for this stamp. There are so many different scenes that can be created. I chose to do a night scene with the 2 best friends sharing the serenity of the night sky.

To make this card, I first die cut some Bristol paper and then drew in the hills with light pencil and traced around the stamps to get the general idea of placement. I created a masked image of the bear and bunny using Inkadoo Stamping Mask Paper and Post-It Note for the hills and cut them both out. Next I erased all of the lines so that you could barely see them and stamped the bear and the bunny image directly onto the Bristol Paper. Next, I mounted the mask of the characters and hills that I had cut out previously over top of the stamped images so that they would be protected while I coloured in the sky.

To do the sky I used a mixture of Tim Holtz inks listed below and PrismaColor pencils. Then I blended all of the colours together using Gamsol and a blending paper stump. I repeated the process with the PrismaColor pencils several times.

Once the sky was completed, I removed the stencil for the grass and proceeded to colour it in using the same technique that I had used for the sky.

Lastly, I removed the mask for the bear and bunny and coloured them in. I added in some small trees using a Black Prismacolor pencil.

I popped my finished image, back into my MISTI again and stamped the sentiment using VersaMark. I also stamped in the stars in the sky and embossed everything with Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail. I also used a brush and tapped some of the white embossing powder all over the sky. Then heated it with my Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. Lastly, I stamped and embossed the seagulls using VersaFine – Onyx Black and Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder. I coloured them in using Black PrismaColor pencil and then added in some highlights on the wings.

I popped up the coloured image and blue cardstock with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

Card Recipe:

Stamp and Sentiment: Mix and Match Clear Stamps (DC19095) (Dreamerland Crafts)

Inks: Versa Fine – Onyx Black, Versa Mark, (Sky Base): Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Blueprint Sketch, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Chipped Sapphire, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot

Embossing Powder: Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail, Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder.

Die Cuts:  My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out

Tools: MISTI – Most Incredible Stamping Tool, Cuttlebug, Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool, 3M VHB – 2 sided tape

Sweet Birthday Dreams

Welcome Dreamerland Fans!

Some of you may be new to my blog since Dreamerland Crafts is introducing the 2019 design team and today is my day! I was so excited to be asked to join the Dreamerland team this year.

For my card, I thought the little boy hugging his pillow with his little kitten on his back was adorable! It made me think of making a birthday card with him sleeping and dreaming about all of his wishes coming true.

Dreamerland Crafts – Birthday 08  was used to create the sentiment and  Dreamerland Crafts – ZZZ was used for the image.

Here is a close-up of the little boy image:

To make the card, I first die cut the image from Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my Cuttlebug and die cut from Spellbinders Labels 17. Then I stamped the image onto it using my MISTI (Most Incredible Stamping Tool) with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Copics were then used to colour the image. I chose a starry background to represent night time for his dreaming! This was die cut with Spellbinders Labels 17 as well and then edged with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot. Sentiment from Dreamerland Crafts – “ZZZ” was then stamped with Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and then embossed with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder and heated with Marvy Heat Embossing Tool.

For the sentiment, I used the die cut from My Creative Time – MCT 224. Sentiment was stamped with Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and then embossed with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder and heated with Marvy Heat Embossing Tool. Used Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Evergreen Bough around the border of the die cut.

Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Shabby Shutters was used for edging around the card.

Both the main image and Sentiment were popped up with  3M VHB 2-sided tape.
