Matchbook Baby Card!

Today I’m sharing a miniature Baby card using Art ImpressionsMB Nursery – 5495MB Template Dies (5317) and MB Envelope Die (5318) that I made for my niece’s  baby shower. She was very surprised when she saw how small the card was. LOL! I always love seeing everyone’s expression when they receive their little matchbook sized cards.

To create the card, I began with the card base using some scrap paper from my stash for the background. The design was only on one side, so I doubled it up and glued it together. Then using a Cuttlebug die-cutting machine and the Art ImpressionsMB Template Dies (5317), I die cut the designer paper for the base of the card and also the Sentiment pop-up out of a scrap of white cardstock.

With Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI, I stamped all of the images and the sentiment onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in all of the images with Copic markers listed below. Once this was completed, the images were all cut out using Art ImpressionsMB Nursery – 5495 dies and the pop-ups were adhered to the card with double-sided tape. The window frames, Baby Blocks and Wording were applied using liquid glue. I stamped the sentiment onto some white cardstock with Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and applied Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder. This was heat embossed using a Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool.

Lastly, I die cut the envelope out of some scrap double-sided paper that I had in my stash using the Art ImpressionsMB Envelope Die (5318). A smaller message was written on an even tinier miniature envelope to my niece and nephew.

Wyatt’s 1st Birthday!

Hi There!

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted anything as the first half of this year was not the greatest for me! So let me catch you up a bit.

In January, my husband and I went on a cruise. It rained almost everyday and so 2 of the ports that we were supposed to go to didn’t happen, but we still tried to make the best of it and were both very happy to at least get to hold a baby sloth which ended up being the highlight of of our trip. On the last day, I connected to Wi-Fi, only to find out that my mom had been admitted to the hospital on the 2nd day of our trip back home. She has Dementia and Alzheimer’s disease and is now permanently in a very nice home since the end of February. I have been travelling back home to see her whenever I can and also staying with family. My dad turned 90 years old this year in April and we had a very nice party with friends and family and he was so happy! However, after his birthday, he was not doing well and sadly passed away suddenly 2 weeks later. Therefore, I wasn’t feeling very creative for most of the 1st half of the year.

July and the first part of August became a time for visiting my immediate family, my mom, my mom’s sisters here in Ontario and my husband’s family in Calgary, Alberta.

During our July vacation in Calgary, Alberta, we met up with members from my husband’s family and some old friends. It was a wonderful time and great to see everyone after so many years! We also did some wonderful sightseeing as well! While we were there, our new great nephew Wyatt was celebrating his 1st birthday!

Today I’m sharing the Birthday card that I made for my nephew’s Birthday using the image from Whimsy StampsBirthday Baby Boy Rubber Stamp and Sentiment and hat from Cricut Cartridge – Old West using Cricut Design Studio and Cricut Explore.

To create the card, I began with the card base of 6″ x 6″ using AC Cardstock – White and FINDit Trading – Hello World watercolor collection – Yvonne Creations cardstock cut to the size of 5.75″ x 5.75″. I thought it created the perfect background for this adorable stamp. The edges were inked with Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Tumbled Glass and it was adhered to the base card with liquid glue.

With Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI, I stamped the rubber image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and then coloured it in. Once this was completed, I then fussy cut around the entire image. I glued the black lettering onto the white outline I die cut for the sentiment and popped up both the image and sentiment onto the card using U-Line Double-Sided Foam Tape. Once that was done, I glued the little cowboy hat onto the baby boy.

Lastly, I added in the little kitty cat on the chair using the Kitten from Dress It Up – Kitten Kaboodle button after removing the backing with liquid glue. The 3 cars were added in the same way which were from Dress It Up – Speed Racers.

My niece and nephew loved the card and I hope you do too!

Lucky Dog!!

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Design –  Fido’s Home from the new January 2022 release. We grew up having dogs in our family. They were all spoiled and loved very much! They may have thought they were the lucky ones, but deep down, I think we were.

I created the base using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock to the size of 5.5″ x 4.25″. For the background, I used Kraftin’ Kimmie – Pawprints Stencil, a Picket Fence – Blending Brush and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Pumice Stone to create the paw prints. For the hearts, I used the same stencil, a small foam brush and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Barn Door. With my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Stitched Squares Inside and Out, I die cut the red square from Forever In Time – Texture Rouge cardstock.

I imported the image and sentiment into Microsoft Word and printed them out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I die cut the image using Waffle Flower – Nesting Square dies and the sentiment with My Creative Time – Stitched Zig Zag Ties. I inked around the edges of the sentiment die cut with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Barn Door and popped it up onto the base card using U-Line double-sided tape. The image was coloured in with Copic markers and the sky was created with Lawn Fawn – Cloudy Stencil and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean and a mixture of Copic blue markers. The completed image was popped up onto the base card using U-Line double-sided tape to finish it off.

Baby Gnome!!

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Design –  Baby Gnome from the new January 2022 release. Congrats to all of the families who received a new blessing into their lives this January and also to all of those future parents-to-be this year too!

I created the base using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. I cut the paper to the size of 5.5″ x 4.25″. For the background, I used the same paper for the front and back. I first cut the Echo Park – Hello Baby – It’s a Girl cardstock to be the same size as the base card. Using my Cuttlebug and Art Impressions – Oval Double Stitched Dies, I cut an oval from the floral patterned side. I inked around the edges of the floral oval with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Seedless Preserves and for the edges of the oval on the larger piece with the baskets showing, I applied Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Evergreen Bough. I taped the 2 pieces back to together using some Scotch Tape and then using double-sided tape, I applied the full background piece to the base card. I inked around the entire outer edges with the Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Seedless Preserves.

I imported the image into Microsoft Word and printed it out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The image was coloured in with Copic markers and then fussy cut with scissors. U-Line double sided tape was applied to the back of the image and it was popped up onto the card in the centre of the Oval. The sentiments were also brought into Microsoft Word and combined together. I created a rectangular shape and put it behind the type. I added an Aqua colour to fill in the background and then gave it a 4 pt border. Once it was printed out, I just cut around the edges of the rectangle with my cutter and then applied Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Evergreen Bough around the frame. I added some U-Line double sided tape and popped it up onto the bottom of the card. To finish everything off, I added in a few CC Designs – Dragon Dreams Enamel Dots.

Stamp and Sentiments: Baby Gnome – KLM Digital Designs

Inks: HP Printer Grayscale, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Evergreen Bough, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Seedless Preserves

Babies Are Sweet Beginnings!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week I’m sharing a Baby Card featuring Sweet Beginnings – S169 from (High Hopes Rubber Stamps). I love this adorable stamp and I also have a few nieces that are pregnant right now. We are all looking forward to seeing pictures of the new little one’s when they are born. Once Covid19 is over, hopefully, we will be able to travel again and see them in person.

To create the card this week, I stamped the image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I fussy cut around the image and then coloured it in with Copic Markers.

I attached this directly to the base with double-sided tape and then inked around the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Spun Sugar. I popped up the coloured image using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. Lastly, I added some little embellishments from Forever In Time – Painted Wood Buttons – Patchwork Elephants to finish off the card.
