Snow Kisses!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a snow lady Christmas card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Snow Kisses – TT059 for the main image and Holly Jolly – K048 for the sentiment. I’ve always loved snow people and birds and this stamp combo makes me smile because it has both.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of AC Cardstock – White, cut and scored to be 6″ x 6″. I cut 2 strips of Doodlebug Design Inc. – Winter Wonderland coloured snowflake pattern to the size of 6″ x .75″. 2 strips of Doodlebug Design Inc. – Spring Solid Assortment paper to the size of 6″ x .25″ and 1 strip of Forever In Time – Textura Sky cut to the size of 6″ x 4″. With Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Evergreen Bough and a blending brush, I inked around all of the edges of the larger pieces. I ran all of the smaller pieces through my Xyron Create a Sticker. The pieces were then attached to the base card from top to bottom. I used liquid glue to attach the larger piece. I trimmed around the 3 sides of the card with a paper trimmer to make it all even.

For the frame around the image, using my Couture Creations – Go Power and Emboss die cutting machine, I die cut the entire frame with Doodlebug Design Inc. – Winter Wonderland paper and Penny Black – Graceful Stackers dies. 2 dies were pieced together for the pink frame using my cutting device and Forever In Time – Textura Blush cardstock. Lastly, I stamped the image with Memento – Summer Sky ink onto Lawn Fawn – Sparkle Cardstock in “Pixie Dust” using my MISTI. I took this piece and ran it through my Couture Creations – Go Power and Emboss die cutting machine again so that it would fit snug into the frame. I cut off the remainder following the stamped snow along the top and inked it with the Memento – Summer Sky ink. Using liquid glue, I applied the pink frame over top of the snowflake die cut while carefully matching up the edges. Liquid glue was applied to the lower back of the snow piece and it was attached to the snowflake background inside the frame.

The image was stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. After colouring the images, I fussy cut around all of them and then with a black marker, inked around all of the edges. I popped up the snowlady using U-Line double-sided tape and attached her to the card under the snow. The little bird was also popped up using U-Line double-sided tape and some liquid glue. Using Copic B41, I added in some shadows in the snow and Stickles – Hibiscus was applied to the scarf and pompom to give them some extra sparkle.

The sentiment was stamped onto Doodlebug Design Inc. – Spring Solid Assortment using my MISTI and Versamark ink. Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail was applied and then heat embossed using a Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. Using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – More Stitched Circles, I die cut the sentiment. The edges were inked around using a finger dauber and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Evergreen Bough. The snowflake was cut using my Cuttlebug, Lawn Fawn – Sparkle Cardstock in “Pixie Dust” cardstock and die from Recollections – Christmas Snowflakes Clear Stamp & Die set. I popped up both the sentiment and snowflake using U-Line double-sided tape onto the card. Lastly, I added 3 Doodlebug Designs Inc. – Sprinkles onto the frame to finish it off.

Dreams Take Flight!!

Today, I’m featuring a card I made using Embrace Your Dream – D19039  from Dreamerland Crafts. My dad always dreamed of flying and he would build all kinds of model airplanes. Then one day he decided to build a real plane with the assistance of his brother and a friend. It took them a long time, but in the end it was a beautiful plane and the best part was that we were all taken for rides in it. It’s an experience we will never forget. So just as my dad followed his dreams, he taught us all to follow our dreams as well. If you dream about something long enough, eventually it will become a reality for you. So never be afraid to follow your dreams.

To make this card I used a white base card of 4.25″ x 5.5″. The background was die cut using My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Die Layers – MCT-D274 and my Cuttlebug. The paper is from Doodlebug Design Inc. – I Love Travel. Once die cut, the edges were inked around using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean. I also used this colour to do the clouds in the sky on the image. I adhered the background to the base using glue so that I could move it around to fit better.

The sentiment was stamped using my MISTI, VersaMark ink and Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail and the stamp from Kraftin’ Kimmie – Sky’s The Limit. The powder was then heat embossed with Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. It was die cut using My Creative Time – Sentiment Label Dies.

The image was die cut using My Creative Time – Bunch of Fun Circle Dies from Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The circle behind the main image was die cut with My Creative Time – More Stitched Circles MCT-D136 from black cardstock. I coloured in the entire image with Copic markers and then created a mask. I added in the clouds and used a small piece of old rag and some rubbing alcohol to create some texture in the grass.

To assemble the card, I ran the main image through Xyron Creative Station to make like a sticker and so that it would lay completely flat on the black circle. 3M VHB – 2 sided tape was used to pop up the main image and sentiment to complete the card.

Gnome For the Holidays

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I used Snowy Gnome – TLF024 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the main image from the new August 2020 release and From Our Gnome – GLL001 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. This little gnome has gone home for the holidays to celebrate with friends and family. As you can see there are a lot of activities going on in Gnome Town. This little gnome has his snowballs ready for the next snowball fun fight! LOL! While waiting for the other team to get ready, he’s decided to take a little break and enjoy nature with his little cardinal friends. Then, let the fun begin!!!

To make my card this week, I started out with a simple white card base, sized at 6″ x 6″. I cut some dark blue cardstock, just slightly smaller and adhered it to the card with Tombow Mutli-Liquid Glue. I just love this paper from PhotoPlay called Gnome for the Holidays Christmas. I thought it went perfectly with this new stamp. I cut it at about 5.75″ x 5.75″. Then I glued it to the blue paper.

I die cut multiple circles in a variety of sizes using a mixture of My Creative Time – More Stitched Circles and Lifestyle Crafts Cutting Dies – Nesting Circles using dark blue and red cardstock and also Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card for the main image.

The image was stamped onto the Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Cardstock circle using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black. It was then coloured it in with Copic markers. For the snow, I used Recollections – Christmas Snow Paste, Martha Stewart Crafts Glitter – Crystal Fine and a spatula and let it dry overnight. Then  Stickles – Diamond was added onto the top of it. For the sky a mixture of 2 Gel pens were used and then a little bit of Stickles – Diamond to add some glitter to it. I was trying to get it to match the background paper. Once the Stickles was dry, I glued the bottom 2 layers of circles together and then the top 2 circles.  Both were done separately. The sentiment was stamped with Versa Mark and then embossed with Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail and heated with Marvy Uchida Embossing Heat Tool. I fussy cut around the sentiment and glued it directly on top of some red cardstock. Then I cut around that as well.

To complete the card I popped up the bottom circles, top circles with coloured image and sentiment with the 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

Lastly, I added some more sparkle with Stickles – Diamond by adding it to the base of the card in random places.

Happy Birthday To Ye!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I used Peg Leg Pete – R088 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the main image and Pirates Birthday – F147 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Peg Leg Pete is showing off his map of previous adventures from his pirating days around the Caribbean. He’s gathered quite a treasure of findings. But, when you are a pirate, there is always more places and ships out there to plunder. LOL!

To make my card this week, I used Scrapberry’s – The Pirate’s Treasure (6×6 Paper Collection) paper for the main background which fit onto a card base of 6″ x 6″ perfectly.

I stamped the image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Cardstock and then coloured it in with Copic markers. Next, I fussy cut around the entire image and used a black marker to go around all of the edges.

To create the look of a ship in the background, I cut 2 small pieces of paper from Joy Crafts – Wood Texture and Joy Crafts Tough Textures miniature 4 x 9 designs. Then I joined them both together using 2-sided tape. Next, I ran both pieces through my Cuttlebug using My Creative Time – More Stitched Circles die cut. I popped up both the image and the small half circle background with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape and placed it in the centre of the card.

Once again, I used my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink for the sentiment. I taped down the sentiment onto some scrap red cardstock and bumped it up on the card with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. Lastly, to finish it off, I went around the entire outer edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Rusty Hinge and added a few Kraftin Kimmie – Seashore Dots.

I coloured the little party hats onto the Flamingos using PrismaColor Premier Pencils. Then I added some white pearls around their necks with Sharpie Water Based Paint – White – Extra Fine Point. Lastly, I edged around the paper with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Cracked Pistachio.

I used my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – More Stitched Circles MCT-D136 to die cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card Stock and then my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the image. I coloured in the image with Copic markers and then used Lifestyle Crafts Cutting Dies – Nesting Circles to cut out the pink and aqua circles. I ran the coloured image through a Xyron Creative Station to make it into a sticker and then mounted it onto the pink cardstock. Then I popped up this piece and the aqua circle with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. I went around the edge of the pink circle with Hibiscus – Stickles and used Crystal – Stickles for the necklace around Florence’s neck.

I stamped the sentiment onto Yellow cardstock and the ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker.
