Peace Dude!

Today I’m sharing an inspirational \ birthday card using KLM Digital DesignPeace Gnome from the new March release. This image also comes with 2 more sentiments, “Peace begins with a smile” and “There is peace even in the storm”. Seeing this image made me feel nostalgic for my younger days in the 60’s and 70’s. I still remember how excited I was to get my very first pair of GWG bell bottom jeans and then LEVIS. LOL! Flower power was all the rage and there were flowers and peace signs everywhere. I was still young, but it was a really cool time to grow up.

AC Cardstock – White was used to create a 6″ x 6″ card base. BasicGrey – Lauderdale Patterned paper was cut to the same size as the base card and adhered with double-sided tape. Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Villainous Potion was used to ink around all of the edges.

The image and sentiment were imported into Microsoft Word and printed out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and 2 extra copies of the image were printed onto plain copy paper to be used for masking later. With my Cuttlebug, I die cut the image and the purple background layer using Quickutz Nesting Frame 7 dies. I fussy cut around the sentiment and then inked it very lightly with some purple that I had left on my blending brush. I ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker and attached it to a scrap piece of Recollections – Purple Passions paper. Once again, I fussy cut around the sentiment. The larger frame and sentiment edges were inked around the edges with the same ink as the base card.

The image was coloured in with Copic Markers listed below. The top portion of the image was fussy cut and I applied some Washi Tape to the back of it to create a hinge and to mask the image. Using blender brushes and multiple Tim Holtz Distress Inks, I created the clouds in the sky with Lawn Fawn Cuts – Cloudy Stencil.

Once I completed the sky, I used second image that I had printed out onto the copy paper for 2 purposes. The first purpose was to use a stylus and tracing paper to transfer the image onto the patterned paper from BasicGrey – Lauderdale Paper Pad for paper piecing the gnome’s shirt. I loved the wild flower pattern and thought it was perfect for this hippie gnome. Once the pattern was transfered, I fussy cut it out. I used my Copic markers to create a small shadow on various parts of the shirt. With a Pigma Micron 03 black marker, I drew the lines in darker so that they would stand out on the shirt and then used a black marker to go around all of the pieces. Once completed, all of the pieces were put through a Xyron Create a Sticker to make it easier to stick to them to the coloured image and also so that they would lay flat. I then added the pieces to the main image.

The printed image was then fussy cut and the sand was added using a blender brush, Krafty Kolours – Sandy Shores for the base and a mixture of Copic markers listed below.

The remainder of the card was now ready to assemble. I added U-Line double-sided tape to the backs of the sentiment, large purple frame and image. They were all then popped up onto card.

Make Lemonade!

Today I’m sharing an inspirational card using KLM Digital DesignLemon Gnome from the new January release. This image also comes with 2 more sentiments, “I could just Squeeze you!” and “Squeeze the day”.  I’ve always loved lemons and they are good for so many different things, baking, tea and they are high in Vitamin C, just to name a few.

Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock was used to create a 5.5″ x 4.25″ card base. I had found Crafts Designer Paper – 02-3093268 at Dollarama and thought this paper was perfect for this card. I chose 2 patterns from this paper pack and cut the darker pattern to the size of 5.25″ x 2.25″ and the other piece to the size of 5.25″ x 2.75″. Two rectangles were cut out of Recollections – Black cardstock to the size of 5.5″ x 2.75″ and 5.5″ x 3″. With yellow cardstock and my Cuttlebug, I die cut the large oval using Waffle Flower – Additional Oval dies and the larger circle with Lifestyle Crafts Cutting Dies – Nesting Circles. All of the edges for the patterned pieces and the yellow die cuts were inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mustard Seed.

The image and sentiment were imported into Microsoft Word and printed out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. With my Cuttlebug, I die cut the large oval using Waffle Flower – Additional Oval dies and the smaller circle with My Creative Time – Bunch of Fun Circle Dies. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Squeezed Lemonade was applied to the outer edges of the smaller circle. The image was coloured in with Copic markers.

For the assembly of the card, I applied the 2 patterned pieces together with the black cardstock using double sided tape. I placed the colourful piece down first onto the base card and then the second piece was applied over top of that one. Both were adhered with double-sided tape. The image and the sentiment were both popped up onto the larger oval and larger circle using U-Line Double-Sided tape. I applied U-Line Double-Sided tape to the backs of these combined pieces and then popped them both up onto the card. Finally, I added in some YNS Gumdrops – Tropical Paradise around the sentiment to complete the card.

AHH – 60!!

Sharing a birthday card I made for a friend using Art ImpressionsAHH Set – A4671 and Rock On Laugh Lines – 5422. I was late getting this birthday card out to my friend as usual and this face says it all. LOL!

To make the card, I began with the base of 8.5″ x 7″ Hammermill – Premium Colour cardstock, scored and folded to the size of 8.5″ x 3.5″. Using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, the images were stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Cardstock and coloured in with Copic Markers. Once the images were coloured, I fussy cut around them both. For the blouse, I stamped the image again onto DCWV – Pocket Blossom paper and paper-pierced it onto the image after I had run it through my Xyron Create a Sticker. For the image on the front page, a black marker was used to outline all of the edges.

For the front of the card, I die cut 3 balloons using my Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine, Concord & 9th – Pop-Up Par-Tay dies and Pergamano Parchment Paper – Rainbow Pastel and 1 balloon out of a spare piece of patterned paper to use for the inside of my card. The numbers were cut from Recollections – Black cardstock using my cutting machine and Lawn Fawn Lawn Cuts – Henry’s 123s. To create the background, I used multiple Tim Holtz Distress inks listed below, multiple brushes and Lawn Fawn – Confetti Stencils to create the background on the base card front.  The sentiment was stamped with a MISTI, Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and then embossed with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder. Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat the embossing powder. Then, I fussy cut around it.

The front of the card was now ready to assemble. I ran each of the numbers through my Xyron Create a Sticker and the balloons through my Xyron Creative Station. The numbers were then placed onto the balloons. I attached the first 2 balloons to the card and then drew in the strings with a black marker. I then added the last balloon and drew another string. A white pencil was used to create a bit of glow along the left side of the balloons. After attaching U-Line double-sided tape to the back of the sentiment and the image, I popped them up onto the front of the card.

Inside of the card:

For the inside of the card, I used Rock On Laugh Lines – 5422 – Art Impressions, Dance It Out Set – 5278 – Art Impressions, Be Happy Laugh Lines – 5279 – Art Impressions for the sentiments. I cut out 3 sentiment bubbles using Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine, Spellbinders – Die D-Lites Conversation Bubble 3 Etched Dies out of white cardstock. I stamped each of sentiments using a MISTI, Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and then embossed with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder. Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat the embossing powder. I ran each of the sentiment bubbles and my image through my Xyron Creative Station.

The inside of the card was now ready to assemble. I placed the 1 bubble sentiment at the top of the card and then using my image as a guide for placement, I attached the patterned balloon to the card first. The image was attached on top of it and then I added the bottom bubble sentiment. Lastly, I placed the final bubble sentiment to the card in between the other top 2 bubble sentiments to complete the card.

Thankfully, she loved her card and I hope you do too!

Love and Cake!

Sharing a birthday card I made today using KLM Digital Design –  Chef Gnome – Cake from the new June 2022 release. This image also comes with 2 more sentiments, “If we are what we eat, well, I’m pretty sweet!” and “If the cake fits, eat it!”. My mom always made our birthdays very special by creating special cake designs every year for each of our birthdays growing up. As a child, I never liked cake, but my mom used to wrap some change into tin foil and hide it in the cake. When all of my friends left, I would take a knife and cut through the cake to get all of the change out to put into my piggy bank. LOL! Unfortunately for me, I developed a sweet tooth when I got older and met my husband who has a really big sweet tooth. Only difference is he manages to keep the weight off. LOL!

I imported the image and sentiment into Microsoft Word and printed them out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The image was coloured in with Copic markers. I added some Wink of Stella – Clear to the icing and then I fussy cut around the coloured image. Using my Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine and Die-Namics MFT-489 PCD Fishtail Figs STX dies, I die cut the sentiment and also some Aqua cardstock.

The 5.5″ x 4.25″ card base was created using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardsstock. I cut the patterned paper from Echo Parks Paper Co. – Birthday Wishes to the size of 5.5″ x 3.5″ and attached it to the centre of the base using double-sided tape. Two .5″ strips were cut from Yellow Cardstock and then put through my Xyron with one strip attached at the top and one strip on the bottom of the card. The Aqua die cut was added to the right side using double-sided tape. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mustard Seed was used to ink around all of the edges of the card. I applied U-Line double-sided tape to the image and the sentiment and popped them both up onto the background. YNS Gumdrops – Celebration Sparkly Gumdrops were added to the top and bottom strips. Lastly, to finish off my card, I ran Art Impresisons – 5335 – Kitchen Mini Dies through the Anna Griffin Empress Mini die cutting machine using Crafter’s Companion Luxury Cardstock – Silver. I ran the 2 pieces through my Xyron Create a Sticker and attached them both to the sentiment tag.

Card Recipe:

Ex-Cuse Me!!

Sharing a birthday card I made for my sister-in-law this year using C.C. DesignsRoberto’s Rascals – Grouchy Pets and Roberto’s Rascals – Cutie Cats. Her name is Kitty and I always try to find fun images with cats to make her card. LOL!

To make the card, I began with the base of 3.5″ x 8.5″ Hammermill – Premium Colour cardstock. I also die cut the Hammermill – Premium Colour cardstock with the Whimsy Stamps – Slimline Marquee Die and my Cuttlebug. Using multiple Picket Fence – Blending Brushes and Tim Holtz Distress Inks listed below, I created my own background. Using the window pieces from the die cut, I traced around them onto Doodlebug – hey cupcake (6″x6″) paper and fussy cut around them. I applied some glue along the edges and attached them to the back of the panel.  Then I applied double-sided tape to the backing and attached this to the base.

Using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, the images were stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Cardstock and coloured in with Copic Markers. Once everything was coloured, I fussy cut around each of them. The sentiments were stamped onto Recollections – Black cardstock with Versamark ink and then heat embossed with Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail and my Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. Using my cutter, I cut around each of the sentiments. I added double-sided tape to the back of the images and sentiments and popped them all up onto the base card. Finally, I added some Kraftin’ Kimmie Pop Dots.

Inside of the card:

For the inside of the card, I used my large MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the sentiments from Art Impressions Glamour Pop-Ups – 5355 and Purrrfect Sentiments – HoneyBee Stamps. I ran the little kitty from the Roberto’s Rascals – Cutie Cats – C.C. Designs set that I had coloured earlier through my Xyron Create a Sticker and attached it directly to the card to finish everything off.

Thankfully, she loved her card and I hope you do too!

Rain or Shine!

Sharing a card I made today using Penny Black Stamps – Rain or Shine. My husband and I always celebrate the first day that we started going out together and also our wedding anniversary each year. Yesterday, marked 36 wonderful years together. We had bears on the top of our wedding cake, so I thought it would be great to make him a card with bears to celebrate our special day.

To make my card, I started out with Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock to create a card base of 5.5″ x 4.25″. Using My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies and my Cuttlebug, I die cut a small rectangle into the front of the card. For the raindrops, I first applied some Post-It tape down the centre of the card and then applied Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Tumbled Glass with a Picket Fence – Blending Brush. I placed Kraftin’ Kimmie – Rainy Day Stencil over top of this blue section and this time I applied Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean. I removed the stencil and the Post-it Note tape and covered the centre where the blue colour ended. Using a Picket Fence – Blending Brush and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Squeezed Lemonade, I applied yellow to the entire right side of the card. Lastly, I placed Kraftin’ Kimmie – Starburst Stencil over top and using the same brush, I applied Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mustard Seed. I die cut the word “Happy” using My Creative Time – Happy Everything Stamp Set and Recollections – Black cardstock. Lastly, using a sentiment from the same stamp set, I stamped and heat embossed the word “Anniversary” using Versa Fine – Onyx Black and Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder.

Here is the inside of the card.

I stamped the image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I die cut it using Lawn Fawn – Zig Zag Square Stackables and coloured in the image with Copic markers. Using my MISTI again, I heat embossed the sentiment onto Recollections – Black cardstock using VersaMark and Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail. Gina K. Designs – Master Layouts – #9 was used to die cut the sentiment. I applied glue to the back of the image and sentiment and attached them both to the inside of the card.

You Go First!!

Sharing a birthday card I made using Art Impressions Never Too Old – 5114  for the main image and sentiment. My friend and I tease each other about getting older. So, I thought this would be a fun card to make for her. LOL! I used another sentiment from this same set on the inside too, which reads, “Thanks for always being older than me”.

To make my card, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. It was then embossed using my Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool and Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder. Spellbinders Die D-Lites – Conversation Bubble Three (S2-137) and my Cuttlebug were used to die cut the sentiment. U-Line double-sided tape was added to the backs of the sentiment and coloured image and they were both popped up onto the background to complete the front of the card. I repeated the process of inking and embossing for the inside sentiment to complete the card.

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Designs –  Thumbs Up Gnome from the new September release. This gnome is great for so many different cards! I just love him!

To make the card, I first imported the image and sentiment into Microsoft Word and printed them out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card.  The image was coloured in with Copic markers and then fussy cut around with a thin white border. I cut the sentiment with my cutter and then inked around the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean and a Picket Fence Studio Blender Brush.

For the base card, I used Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock and cut it and scored it to be 5.5″ x 5.25″. I taped around the edges with painters tape and then used multiple Tim Holtz Distress Inks listed below and Picket Fence Studio Blender Brushes to create the background. Once I was satisfied, I removed the tape. I die cut Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock using my Cuttlebug and Your Next Stamp – Confetti Panel Die. I added some 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the back of the panel and popped it on top of the background. 3M VHB – 2 sided tape was added to the backs of the image and sentiment and they were both popped up on top of the panel die cut. Lastly, I added in some Kraftin’ Kimmie – Polar Dots to finish off the card.

Just Bee-Cause!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Hunny Bear – Q021 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Just Bee Cause – G055 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. This little bear really loves his honey and so do I. We always went to the local farms or farmer’s market when it was open to buy pure unpasteurized honey. Now during Covid, we purchase it from the stores that they supply. Honey goes so well with tea too and has so many fantastic health benefits! Yum! Yum! So good! LOL!

To make my card this week, I started with a base of 5.5″ x 4.25″ using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. paper. Using a Picket Fence – Blending Brush I created the background using Tim Holtz Distress Inks: Fossilized Amber, Mustard Seed, Scattered Straw and Wild Honey. I cut 2 pieces of golden yellow cardstock and put them through my Xyron Creative Station to make them into stickers. Then, I ran them through my Cuttlebug using Memory Box – Honeycomb Corner die. This made it very easy to adhere the die cuts to the base card. Using Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, and my Cuttlebug, I die cut the bee-hive with Memory Box – Honey Bee Skep die. I used Copic Markers to colour the die cut and then using a small piece of Scotch Tape, I put the door back into place. Then I used 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to pop it up onto the base of the card.

I stamped my image using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Cardstock and the sentiment onto Yellow Cardstock. I coloured in the image using Copic markers and then fussy cut around it. I used a black marker to go around all of the edges of the coloured image. Using my cutter, I cut around the sentiment and then ink around all of the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Wild Honey. Using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape, I attached the coloured image and sentiment to the base. Then I used, Copics Y17 and Y15 to create a shadow below the bee-hive and image.

To finish off the card I assembled some of the small die-cut pieces from the honeycomb in various parts of my card and added some little bees using Buttons Galore & More – Sprinkletz Embellishments – Bumble Bees. Also, I added some Ranger Glossy Accents to the honey seeping over the lid of the jar.

Make it Rain!

Sharing a fun birthday card that I made for my husband this week using Make It Rain – CYNS728 (#YourNextStamp) for the main image and sentiment. I thought it would be fun to put the image inside a balloon too! Now if only that could be Lottery Winnings he was holding onto. LOL!

To make my card this week, I started out with a simple lime green card base, sized at 5.5″ x 4.25″.  For the bottom layer I used Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. paper and multiple Tim Holtz inks which I have listed below. Then I die-cut the top layer with my Cuttlebug and #Your Next Stamp – Confetti Panel Die. Hammermill paper was used for this also. I mounted the bottom layer directly onto  the base card and then attached the top die-cut layer using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

For both of the sentiments, I used my MISTI, VeraMark ink and Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail on black cardstock. Then a Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat emboss the powder.

The balloon was die cut using My Creative Time – Stitched Circle Balloon Dies MCT-D137 to cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card which I then stamped the main image onto using Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI. The image was coloured with Copic Markers.

To assemble the remainder of the card, the image and sentiment were popped up on top with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. Some ribbon was tied to the bottom of the balloon and some Kraftin’ Kimmie dots were used.

Hang in There!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I thought I’d make an inspirational card to share with you using Raggedy Ann-ouncement – R044 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the main image and Hang In There – D278 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment.

To make my card this week, I started off with a card base of 5.5″ x 4.25″.  I created the background on Hammermill – Premium Colour cardstock using various stencils, Picket Fence Studio Blender Brushes and Tim Holtz inks which I have listed below. I thought the sun rays reflected a ray of hope for everyone and I hope that we will all be seeing better days soon. Once the background was finished, I used 2 sided tape and mounted it onto the base card.

I stamped the image  and sentiment onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and coloured in the main image with Copic markers. I ran the coloured image through my Brother Scan and Cut to create a slim border around it and then went around the edges with Y06 – Yellow and YG25 – Celadon Green to make it blend into the background. Lastly, I popped up the image using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape and created a small shadow below Raggedy Ann.

Bee Tag

Hi There,

Sharing a tag I made for the Challenge at JessicaLynn Original called Challenge #5 – Create Your Best Tag.

Bee-Tag

I work with a lady who is a beekeeper. I thought this would be perfect to give her the next time I purchase some more fresh honey. MMMMM, it is sooo good!!!

To make the tag, I used the bee from JessicaLynn Original Big Fat Bumble Bee digi. I sized it multiple times and arranged their position using Microsoft Word and then printed it out to colour.d

Used Spectrum Noir markers to colour bee and then added a little yellow texture with PrismaPremier coloured pencil.

The sentiment is from Craftin Desert Diva’s “Just Because” Stamps for “Buzzing by….” and “to say”. (I covered up the “hi” with tape before I stamped it.

The sentiment “Thank You!” is from My Creative Time – Hey There Little Lady.

For the tag, I used the tag die from SpellBinders “Tags and Flags” – S5-095 and shortened it.

Coloured around the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mustard Seed and a little dauber.

Finished it off with some black and yellow ribbon.

Hope you like it!
