Gina K Designs – Owls – Merry Christmas!

Today I’m sharing another Christmas card using stamps from  Gina K DesignsHoliday Season and Seasonal Patterns and Phrases. Also used, Ornate Frame die from the new Gina K Designs12 Days of Christmas Box – Day 1.

To create the card, I began with the card base using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. folded to the size of 4.25″ x 5.5″. The edges around the card were inked with a Gina K. blending brush and Gina K. Designs – Powder Blue ink.

With Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI, I stamped the image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in the image with Copic markers listed below. The image was fussy cut, leaving a touch of white all around it. Using a Sakura Glaze – Black pen, I coloured in the eyes and beaks. Then I added a little dot on the eyes with a Gelly Roll Sakura #5 Pen. Spectrum Noir – Sparkles – Crystal Clear was applied to the hats brims and pom-poms to add a little bit of glitter.

The sentiment was stamped directly onto Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, using a MISTI, VersaMark ink and Ranger Gold Embossing powder was applied over top of it. This was heat embossed using a Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. The sentiment was die cut using a Cuttlebug and die from Gina K. Designs – Die – Scrolled Gift Card Holder and the frame was die cut using Gina K. Designs – Ornate Frame (Day 1 from the 12 Days of Christmas) and paper from Chloe’s Crafts Paper Pad – 02-3129420. A Sharpie – Gold Medium Point – Water Based Paint was used to create a border around the sentiment die cut.

To assemble the card, using another piece of cardstock from the Chloe’s Crafts Paper Pad – 02-3129420, I cut the paper to the size of 3.5″ x 4.75″ and glued this piece to the Ornate Frame die cut. U-Line Double-Sided Foam tape was applied to the backs of this, the Owls images, sentiment and Dress It Up – Glitter Holly embellishment. The frame was then popped up onto the base card. Next, I popped up the owls, holly and sentiment onto the frame. With a Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen, I created snow in the sky behind the owls and onto the holly berries to finish it off.

Dancing Gingerbread !

Today I’m sharing an interactive Christmas card that I made using Spellbinders – Dancin’ Gingerbread – S5-609 and Dancin’ Christmas Sentiments – STP-216. I could play with this card all day watching them swinging them back and forth! LOL!

Love these fun dies and just had to try them out. Using the die cuts, I cut all of the body pieces for the Gingerbread man and woman using the dies and a Cuttlebug. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Rusty Hinge was then applied all around the edges with a finger dauber. All of the reds were die cut using Recollections – Red cardstock and then inked around the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Aged Mahogony. Just to give the pieces a little depth. For the cheeks, I added a little bit of pink chalk to make them rosier. All of the sparkle white pieces were die cut using Lawn Fawn – Sparkle Cardstock in “Pixie Dust”. I really love the glitter of this paper. The scarf pattern pieces were die cut out of Hammermill – Premium Cardstock.

The base card was created to the size of 4.25″ x 5.5″ out of Hammermill – Premium 110 lb. cardstock. Recollections – Red cardstock was cut to the same size as the base. Next, I cut 2 pieces of Recollections – Holiday Basics paper to the size of 4-1/8″ x 7/8″ and applied these to the top and bottom of the card. The centre piece was cut to the size of 4.25″ x 3.5″ and then inked around the edges with a finger dauber and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Worn Lipstick. All of the paper pieces were adhered to the base card using liquid glue.

The Gingerbread were assembled along with some small scraps used to create the cheeks and eyes. White Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen was applied to each of the eyes to give them a little more character. The swinging mechanism was applied to the backs of the Gingerbread and My Favourite Things – Spin & Slide Discs were attached to the card using liquid glue and double-sided tape.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiment onto Hammermill – Premium Cardstock with VersaMark ink and applied Ranger – Rich Red Embossing Powder to it. A Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was applied to the powder to heat emboss it.  This was cut down to 3-1/8″ x .75″ and both sides were notched with scissors and Tim Holtz Distress Ink -Worn Lipstick was applied around the edges with a finger dauber. U-Line Double-Sided Foam Tape was applied to the sentiment and it was popped up on the card to complete it.

Penguin and Reindeer Friend!

Today I’m sharing a Christmas card that I made using Whimsy StampsPenguin and Reindeer Friend and Penny Black Creative DiesAntique Frame.

The image was printed out with my HP Printer onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using High Quality Grayscale and coloured in with Copic markers. Once I finished colouring the image, I applied Copic B000 all around it and then fussy cut the image out leaving a slim border.

The base card was created to the size of 4.25″ x 5.5″ out of Hammermill – Premium 110 lb. cardstock. Stampin’ Up – Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper was cut to the same size as the base card. Using a Cuttlebug and Penny Black Creative Dies – Antique Frame, I die cut the centre of the paper, keeping the original size as well. The same dies were also used to cut out a larger rectangle out of Hot Buy – Recollections – Jewel Tones paper. To create the snow, I first die cut the snow drifts with Lawn Fawn – Sparkle Cardstock in “Pixie Dust” paper and Spellbinders – Color Block Scenic Scape dies. Next, so that I could keep the same shape as the snowflake die cut, I once again ran both of the snow die cuts through the cutting machine using the Penny Black dies. All of the die cuts were inked around the edges with a finger dauber and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean. Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Tumbled Glass was applied to the top of the snow banks to give them some contrast.

The whole card was now ready to assemble.

Liquid glue was applied to the larger snowflake border and then applied directly onto the base card. U-Line Double-Sided Foam Tape was applied to the completed image, small snow drift and each of the rectangle die cuts. The larger die cut rectangle was popped up onto the centre of the snowflake base. Liquid glue was applied to the larger snow drift and it was applied directly to the smaller snowflake die cut. Another layer of U-Line Double-Sided Foam Tape and some liquid glue were applied to the smaller snow drift then it was popped up onto the larger snow drift. The penguin and reindeer image was popped up behind the smaller snowdrift. I also applied some liquid glue to the foam tape so that it would adhere better to the sparkle cardstock. Lastly, I fussy cut a sentiment from Creative Expressions – Wordies Sentiment Sheets – Christmas Script and popped it up onto the top of the card.

Pre-Colored Snowflake Gnome!

Today I’m sharing a Christmas CAS card that I made using KLM Digital DesignsPre-Colored Snowflake Gnome from the new December 2024 Release. This pre-coloured image makes it very easy to create lots of last minute Christmas cards.

The image was printed out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and fussy cut. Joy Crafts – Merry Christmas Cutting Stencil was die cut using a Cuttlebug and Lawn Fawn – Sparkle Cardstock in “Pixie Dust” paper. This was applied along the top of the card using liquid glue. With a spatula, DecoArt Snow-Tex was applied along the bottom of the card and then some glitter was sprinkled onto it while it was still wet. Gentle pressure was used to push the glitter into the DecoArt Snow-Tex. U-Line Double-Sided Foam Tape was applied to the upper part of the image and it was popped up onto the card. Owl – Holidays!

Today I’m sharing a Christmas card that I made using KLM Digital DesignsOwl – Santa Hat from the new September 2024 Release. This image also comes with 2 other sentiments, “Merry Christmas” and “Owl I want for Christmas is you” besides the sentiment that I have used one this card.

The base card was created to the size of 4.25″ x 5.5″ out of Hammermill – Premium 110 lb. cardstock. Light Blue cardstock and Recollections – Christmas Snow Globe Vellum were cut to the same size as the base. The blue cardstock was attached with double-sided tape and the vellum was attached over top of this with liquid glue. The glue was only applied to the bottom of the vellum and then behind some snowflakes where the glue would not show. Lawn Fawn – Sparkle Cardstock in “Pixie Dust” was cut to the size of 4.25″ x 1.5″ and then cut with scissors to create the wavy ground. This was popped up onto the vellum using U-Line Double-Sided Foam Tape. Trees were then added under the hill that were created at an earlier time using my Cricut Explore and .svg files from Miss Kate Cuttables – Snowy Tree using liquid glue.

The image and sentiment were printed out with my HP Printer onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using High Quality Grayscale and coloured in with Copic markers, then fussy cut. Sakura Glaze – Black pen was used to apply the dot in the eye and a black marker was used to go around the entire out-line of the owl. Cosmic Shimmer Fluffy Stuff was then applied to the hat fringe and pompom. A Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat the liquid to create the fluff effect. Using my finger, I dabbed Stickles – Diamond over the top of the fluff on the hat and pompom.  Stickles – Diamond was also applied to the tops of the snow pieces on the trees.

Once the Stickles dried, 2 layers of U-Line Double-Sided Foam Tape and some liquid glue were applied to the back of the image and 1 layer was applied to the sentiment. Both items were popped up onto the card. Lastly, Recollections – Snowflake Specialty Polyester Glitter was placed onto the card to hide where the glue seeped through the Vellum.

Present Gnomes

Sharing a Christmas card I made today using KLM Digital Design –  Pre-Colored – Present Gnome – Blue and Pre-Coloured – Present Gnome – Yellow from the new October 2022 release. Christmas is not that far away now and it’s time for me to create more cards for the holidays.

To make my card this week, I started with a 5.5″ x 4.25″ card base using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. I cut the background paper from PhotoPlay – Gnome for the Holidays Christmas to be the same size and attached it to the base card with double-sided tape. I cut some green cardstock to the size of 4-7/8″ x 3-5/8″. U-line double-sided tape was attached to the piece and it was popped up onto the centre of the card. Stampin’ Up – Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper was cut to the size of 4.75″ x 3.5″. Using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean, I inked around the base card and the snowflake piece.

The images were imported into Microsoft Word and I layered them together before I printed them out and fussy cut around them leaving a thin white border. I cut the snow piece to be 4.75″ x 1″ using Lawn Fawn – Sparkle Cardstock in “Pixie Dust” and then tore it look like drifting snow. I glued along the bottom of this piece with liquid glue and adhered it to the snowflake patterned paper. Using liquid glue, I attached the gnomes on top and behind the snow. I applied liquid glue to the finished piece and centred it onto the green cardstock. I stamped the sentiment on to a scrap piece of blue cardstock using Versamark ink and then applied Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail. This was heat embossed with a Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heating Tool. I die cut the circle using a 1″ Circle punch and then applied Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean around it. U-Line double-sided tape was applied to the back of the sentiment and it was popped up onto the card. Lastly, to finish everything off, some Stampin’ Up – Snowflake Sequins were added around the sentiment.

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Pre-Colored – Present Gnome – Blue – KLM Digital Designs and Pre-Coloured – Present Gnome – Yellow – KLM Digital Designs

Sentiment: Lawn Fawn – Reveal Wheel Holiday Sentiments

Inks: HP Printer Grayscale, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean, Versamark

Paper: Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb., PhotoPlay – Gnome for the Holidays Christmas, Stampin’ Up – Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper, Lawn Fawn – Sparkle Cardstock in “Pixie Dust” (8.5″ x 11″)

Die Cuts: 1″ Circle Punch

Embossing Powder: Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail

Miscellaneous: U-Line double-sided tape, Stampin’ Up – Snowflake Sequins, Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool

Hope you like it and have a great week!

Wish You A Merry Christmas

Today, I’m featuring a Christmas card from Dreamerland Crafts new Christmas release called We Wish You A Merry Christmas – D20012. This card features a little kitten helping his friend celebrate the joy of Christmas giving.

To create this card, I first die-cut some Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my Cuttlebug and Creative Expressions – Festive Frames – Snowball. I separated the 2 pieces of the die-cut and using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black, I stamped the image onto the paper and  coloured it in with Copic markers. I stamped the sentiment using VersaMark ink. The sentiment was then embossed with Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail and Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat set the embossing powder. Once this was done, I added all of the snowflakes in the sky using a Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen and also Gelly Roll Sakura #8 Pen. For the snow on the ground, I used a mixture of Nuvo Glitter Accents – Fresh Snowfall and Stickles – Crystal. This was then set aside for a few hours to dry.

For the frame, I used Cosmic Shimmer Opal Polish – Summer Sky. It was my first time using this polish and I just love how it turned out. Once the snow on the image was dry, I flipped the 2 die-cuts over and attached them back together using some clear tape on the back.

The card was now ready to assemble. For the card base I used The Paper Studio – Primary Base Colours 4.25″ x 5.5″. I added some double-sided tape and some glue to the backing of the finished frame and image and attached it directly to the card base.

Card Recipe:

Stamp and Sentiment:  We Wish You A Merry Christmas – D20012 (Dreamerland Crafts)

Christmas Bells!!

Today, I’m sharing Holiday Bells from KLM Digital Designs November Release. The image comes with 3 different sentiments, “Merry Christmas”, which I’ve used on my card and also, “Season’s Greetings” and “Happy Holidays”.

To make the card, I printed out the image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. I coloured in the image with Copic markers and then I fussy cut around the image. A black marker was used to go around all of the edges. The sentiment was printed out onto Recollections white paper and then fussy cut as well. Then I ran both the image and the sentiment through my Xyron Creative Station to make it easier to lay them down completely flat on the card base. For the card base I used Recollections – Winter 4.25″ x 5.5 (Assorted Box of Cards).

Mistletoe Santa Gnome!!

Today, I’m sharing another super adorable gnome from KLM Digital Designs November release called Mistletoe Santa Gnome. The image comes with 3 different sentiments, “Merry Christmas”, which I’ve used on my card and also, “Believe” and “ho-ho-ho”. This Santa gnome is out taking a stroll and enjoying the magic of Christmas and winter.

I decided to colour this Santa in non-traditional colours. To make the card, I printed out the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around the image and coloured it in with Copic markers. Then I applied Nuvo Glitter Accents – Fresh Snowfall to the all of the trimming and set it aside to dry.

I used AC White paper to create the base shape of the card 6″ x 6″. Then I applied Stampin’ Up – Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper cut to the same size directly to the base. I had a spare cut-out from American Crafts – “Holiday” paper in which I had used My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out to die cut the centre. I trimmed it a little bit on all sides to create a border. I took a small scrap of Recollections – Christmas Inkjet Printable Glitter Paper and tore it across the top to imitate snow caps. This I adhered to the back of the die-cut panel. Then, I glued the entire piece down on to the background. I also made sure that I didn’t use any glue towards the tops of the snow.

The sentiment was brought into Microsoft Word and I adjusted the width to be .95″. This allowed me to use the 1″ die from Lifestyle Crafts Cutting Dies – Nesting Circles to die cut the sentiment after it was printed out. I inked around the edges of the sentiment with Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Peacock Feathers and applied Clear – Wink of Stella over top of it to make it sparkle. The snowflakes were all die cut from Signature Collection by Sara Davies – Winter Wonderland Snowflake Quartet.

The remainder of the card was now ready to put together. I glued the Gnome directly to the background paper and moved it slightly under the snow. I added glue to each of the snowflakes and placed them directly onto the backgrounds. Lastly, I popped up the sentiment with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

Gnome For the Holidays

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I used Snowy Gnome – TLF024 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the main image from the new August 2020 release and From Our Gnome – GLL001 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. This little gnome has gone home for the holidays to celebrate with friends and family. As you can see there are a lot of activities going on in Gnome Town. This little gnome has his snowballs ready for the next snowball fun fight! LOL! While waiting for the other team to get ready, he’s decided to take a little break and enjoy nature with his little cardinal friends. Then, let the fun begin!!!

To make my card this week, I started out with a simple white card base, sized at 6″ x 6″. I cut some dark blue cardstock, just slightly smaller and adhered it to the card with Tombow Mutli-Liquid Glue. I just love this paper from PhotoPlay called Gnome for the Holidays Christmas. I thought it went perfectly with this new stamp. I cut it at about 5.75″ x 5.75″. Then I glued it to the blue paper.

I die cut multiple circles in a variety of sizes using a mixture of My Creative Time – More Stitched Circles and Lifestyle Crafts Cutting Dies – Nesting Circles using dark blue and red cardstock and also Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card for the main image.

The image was stamped onto the Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Cardstock circle using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black. It was then coloured it in with Copic markers. For the snow, I used Recollections – Christmas Snow Paste, Martha Stewart Crafts Glitter – Crystal Fine and a spatula and let it dry overnight. Then  Stickles – Diamond was added onto the top of it. For the sky a mixture of 2 Gel pens were used and then a little bit of Stickles – Diamond to add some glitter to it. I was trying to get it to match the background paper. Once the Stickles was dry, I glued the bottom 2 layers of circles together and then the top 2 circles.  Both were done separately. The sentiment was stamped with Versa Mark and then embossed with Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail and heated with Marvy Uchida Embossing Heat Tool. I fussy cut around the sentiment and glued it directly on top of some red cardstock. Then I cut around that as well.

To complete the card I popped up the bottom circles, top circles with coloured image and sentiment with the 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

Lastly, I added some more sparkle with Stickles – Diamond by adding it to the base of the card in random places.
