Sorry You’re Hurting!!

Sharing a card I made using Clearly Whimsy Stamps – Get Well Dragons – DP1034 for a colleague that had a knee operation recently. I wanted to make a fun card to cheer him up a bit and thought this was the perfect image to make it happen.

To make the card, I stamped the image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI. I coloured in the image using Copic markers and then fussy cut around it leaving a thin white border. I stamped all of the sentiments onto black cardstock using Versamark ink and Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail powder. The embossing powders were all heated with Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. The smaller sentiments were all die cut using my Cuttlebug and Hero Arts – Infinity Die Ovals. For the background, I used my Cuttlebug and Sizzix Rounded Tags dies to die cut the background paper – Asuka Studio – Sparkly Sky and black cardstock. I die cut the grass using Lawn Fawn – Stitched Hillside Borders and Sizzix Rounded Tags. I inked the top border of the grass with Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Peeled Paint.

The card was now ready to assemble. I started with a base card of 5.5″ x 4.5″ using Hammermill – Premium Colour cardstock. I applied double-sided tape to the back of the black die cut, The patterned paper and the grass cut and applied them all directly to the card. I ran 2 of the “Ouch!” die cuts through my Xyron Create a Sticker and attached them to the top of the card.  Using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape, I popped up the image and 2 other sentiments to finish off the card.

Happy Canada Day!!

Sharing a card I made for Canada Day today using KLM Digital Designs – Canadian Gnome. I paired this up with stickers from Photoplay – O Canada 2. So proud to be a Canadian and being able to celebrate it every July 1.

To make the card, I first imported the image into Microsoft Word and printed it out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. I coloured in the image with Copic markers and fussy cut around it. Using a black marker, I went around all of the edges.

For the base card, Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. paper was used at the size of 5.5″ x 4.25″. I created the background using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean and a mixture of cloud stencils I created using Avery Elle – PiercedCloudsDie and Whimsy Stamps – Grass and Cloud Edger Die Sets. The grass was made using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mowed Lawn and stencils I created using Lawn Fawn – Lawn Cut dies and Lawn Fawn – Stitched Hillside Borders.

To complete the card, I drew a flag pole with rope and attached the flag sticker. I added the small Maple Leaf sticker onto the hat and attached the image using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. I applied some Copic Y17 and Y13 below the gnome. Lastly, I added the “Happy Canada Day” sticker.

Polar Bear and Friend!!

Sharing this adorable image called Polar Bear and Friend from KLM Digital Designs today from the January release. This set comes with 3 sentiments, “You are Amazing”, “You’re My Sunshine on a Rainy Day” and “Best Friends Forever”, which I used on my card.

To make the card, I printed out the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around the image and coloured it in with Copic markers. The sentiment was brought into Microsoft Word.  I imported the shape within Microsoft Word and used a weight of 3 for the solid line. Then, I brought the sentiment to the front and centred it in the middle of the shape. I printed this out on Recollections White cardstock and then just fussy cut around it.

I used AC White paper to create the base shape of the card 12″ x 6″. I scored the paper at 6″. I used Recollections – Blue Ombre Cardstock for the main background, cut to the same size as the base card. This was attached using double-sided tape.

Essentials by Tattered Lace Dies – Easel Slider dies and my Cuttlebug were used to die cut Hot Buy Craft Smart – Holiday Glitz Glitter Paper, Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. and Stampin’ Up – Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper. Penny Black – Winter Roof die was used to die cut the icicles. The snow drifts on the bottom of the card were die cut using dies from Lawn Fawn – Stitched Hillside Borders. Once the icicles and snow drifts were die cut, I used the Tattered Lace die cut again so that everything would layer to the shape of the smaller rectangle. I used my Cuttlebug and Cuttlebug – Snow Dots stencil twice to create the texture to the larger rectangle. Gina K Designs – Glitz Glitter Gel was added to the icicles and front layer of snow. Stickles – Diamond was used to add texture to the back snow drift. Once everything was dry, I inked around all of the outside edges of the snow, rectangular shapes and main background with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Blueprint Sketch.

To assemble the card, I used double-sided tape to attach the large rectangle shape directly to the base card. The smaller rectangle shape was assembled separately, then attached to the larger rectangular shape using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. Tombo glue was used to add the icicles and layers of snow to the smaller rectangluar shape. The image and sentiment were popped up using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. To complete the card, Stickles – Diamond was added below the bear to create a shadow and also some streaks along the snow.

Happy Father’s Day Gnomes

KLM Digital Designs released some brand new stamps this month, and today I’m sharing Dad and Kid Gnomes (KLM Digital Designs)!  This new stamp contains adorable images of a dad, his children and 3 loving sentiments for your father. This stamp allows you to create your card to represent all of your siblings with your dad or just 1 if it is a special card.

For this card, I decided to create a card from a son to his dad.

To put the card together, I printed out the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and the sentiment onto Hammermill Premium Colour paper.

I die cut the Hammermill paper with Your Next Stamp – Stitched Rectangle Die Set. Then using stencils that I made with Avery Elle – PiercedCloudsDie, I created the sky using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean. For the grassy hillsides, I created stencils using Lawn Fawn – Stitched Hillside Borders and Lawn Fawn – Simple Stitched Hillside Borders – Lawn Cuts. Then I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Bundled Sage, Mowed Lawn, Crushed Olive and Peeled Paint to create the colour variations of the hills.

I coloured in the main image with copics and then fussy cut around them. Then I used a black marker to go around all of the edges. I attached the background to some AC White cardstock cut at 5.5″ x 4.25″. Then to finish off the card, I popped up the 2 coloured images with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape and placed them onto the background.

Herd It Was Your Birthday!!!

KLM Digital Designs has just released some brand new stamps this month, and today I’m sharing Woman Farmer Gnome (KLM Digital Designs)! She’s taking some time out from her chores on this beautiful sunny day to wish you a Happy Birthday.

For this card, I printed out the image with my HP Printer onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using Greyscale. Then I coloured it in with Copic markers and fussy cut around it. I used a  black marker to go around all of the image to hide the white paper from where I fussy cut it. I couldn’t cut out the portion between the girl and the shovel, so I used my copics to match the background that I created with the Tim Holtz inks.

For the background, I used Your Next Stamp – Stitched Rectangle Die Set die and my Cuttlebug to cut Strathmore Bristol Paper (100 lb. – 270 g/m2). Next I created some stencils from Avery Elle – Pierced Clouds Die and Lawn Fawn – Stitched Hillside Borders. I used these stencils to create the cloudy background and the fields behind the farm girl using Tim Holtz Distress Inks.

I had a small scrap strip of patterned paper from Doodle Bug Designs Inc. – Down on the Farm and thought it would go perfectly with this card. I applied this to a 5.5″ x 4.25″ card base from AC Cardstock – Autumn collection. I printed out the sentiment and fussy cut it to split it up and attached it on top of the base background. I then popped up the colored image using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape onto the background that I created earlier. Then I popped up the entire background onto the base card. I added in a few Party Time dots from Kraftin’ Kimmie Dots and inked around the entire card with Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Peeled Paint to finish it off.

Card Recipe:

Stamp and Sentiment: Woman Farmer Gnome (KLM Digital Designs)

Inks: HP Printer Greyscale, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Crushed Olive, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mowed Lawn, Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Peeled Paint

Nordic Night Snowy Delight!

Welcome High Hopes Rubber Stamps Fans!

It’s Wednesday, and today I’m sharing a card that I made using the image Nordic Snowman with Bird (TLF010) (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) from our latest Christmas release. I just love the serenity of this image.  I grew up in Northern Canada and have always loved snow. It’s always so beautiful watching it come down from the sky. Not so much fun when you have to shovel it or drive through a snow storm, but other than that, it is quite beautiful! LOL! Did you grow up where there was a lot of snow too?

To make my card, I first stamped the image using Memento – Tuxedo Black ink onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. Then I ran the stamped image through my Cuttlebug and die cut it with Craftin Desert Diva’s Fancy Frames.

I decided to colour in the sky first with various blue Copic markers. After I coloured in the sky, I added in the falling snow using Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen.

I thought the sweater looked Scandinavian, so I decided to colour it similar to some Scandinavian  sweaters that I’ve seen in the past. I used Sakura Glaze – Black pen to pop up the eyes and smile on the snowman and lastly added some Stickles – Diamond for the pom-poms on the hat and along the top of the snow on the sweater. I also coloured over top of the black snowflakes with Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen and Gelly Roll Sakura #5 Pen on the sweater and hat.

For the snow at the bottom of the snowman, I used the same die-cut, Craftin Desert Diva’s Fancy Frames, to cut out the base using Recollections – Christmas Inkjet Printable Glitter Paper. I then ran this same paper through my Cuttlebug again, this time using the die cut from Lawn Fawn – Stitched Hillside Borders. Next I popped it up on the image using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

I die-cut some patterned paper using Your Next Stamp – Stitched Rectangle Die Set (YNSD214) that I had in my stash and then popped up the coloured snowman image onto it using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

For the sentiment I used Winter Delight (G114) (High Hopes Rubber Stamps). I stamped the sentiment and then die-cut it out using Craftin Desert Diva’s – Tag Essentials Dies. Then I went around the border of the die-cut with Gelly Roll Stardust – Clear pen and drew in some small snowflakes.

I then die-cut some snowflakes using Poppy – Simple Snowflakes (Style 1931) from Recollections – Christmas Inkjet Printable Glitter Paper. Once the snowflakes were all cut out, I ran them through my small Xyron to make them into stickers.

To assemble the card, I started with a base of 6″ x 6″ white AC cardstock. Next I mounted American Crafts – Wonderland Collection paper for my background. I chose this particular pattern as I thought it matched the image so well. I attached the mounted snowman directly to the background paper using 2-sided tape. I popped up my sentiment using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. Added my snowflakes and then finished off the card by adding in little gems in the centre of each snowflake and 1 on the sentiment.
