Big Hugs!!

Today, I’m sharing a card using this super adorable image from Dreamerland Crafts stamps called Big Hug – D19025. Great big in person hugs or even virtual hugs are always nice to have or to give to someone or something that you love. Have you hugged someone today?

To make this card I created a base card of 5.5″ x 4.25″ using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. With Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean, a Picket Fence Studio Blender Brush and Lawn Fawn – Cloudy Stencil, I created the clouds. Then, using a combination of Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Mowed Lawn, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Bundled Sage, a Picket Fence Studio Blender Brush and a mixture of Lawn Fawn – Clippings – Simple Hillside Stencils and Lawn Fawn – Clippings – Slimline Grassy Hillside Stencils, I created the grass. With my Anna Griffin Empress Die-Cutting Mini Machine, Lawn Fawn – Giant Sending Big Hugs was die cut twice using Recollections – Black cardstock. Liquid glue was used to fuse the 2 pieces together. I applied glue to the back of the combined pieces and attached it directly to the base of the card.

Using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and coloured it in with Copic markers. Ranger Inkssentials – Glossy Accents was added to the glasses. The coloured image was fussy cut with scissors leaving a slim white border around it. This was then applied directly to the base card using U-Line – double-sided tape.

Tea Time!!

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Designs – Rose Teapot from the new June release for the image and sentiment. I have always loved tea and never liked coffee. I have a huge cupboard full of Herbal Teas and love how wonderful it tastes especially with a spoonful of natural unpasteurized honey. Spending time with my grandmother and having a cup of tea with her was always special and I still cherish those moments even though she left us for a better place a long time ago.

To make the card, I first imported the image and the sentiment into Microsoft Word. I created the green background behind the sentiment by creating a rectangle shape and moving it to the back behind it. Then I coloured the rectangle green using a custom colour of R233, G242 and B227 combined and printed out the image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and the sentiment onto copy paper using my HP Printer. I coloured in the image with Copic markers and then fussy cut around it leaving a thin white border. I fussy cut around the sentiment as well and applied glue behind it and then attached it to the little sign. Then I attached the sign to some pink cardstock and fussy cut around the sign again. The background papers were all from P13 – The Four Seasons – Spring.

I cut the green patterned paper to the size of 5.75″ x 2.75″ and approximately 6″ x 3/16″ and inked around the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Bundled Sage. The pink solid patterned paper is 6″ x 3″ and the large patterned background is 6″ x 6″. The pinks were inked around the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Spun Sugar.

To assemble the card, I began with a base card of 6″ x 6″ using AC White Cardstock. Using double-side tape, I attached the large background directly to the base. Next I applied the larger pink rectangle to the main background using double-sided tape. The 2 green layers were also added using double-sided tape. For the sentiment and the image, 3M VHB – 2 sided tape was added to the backs of each and then attached to the card. To finish it off, I added some sequins using Craftin Desert Diva’s – Sherbert.

Card Recipe:

Stamp and Sentiment: Rose Teapot – KLM Digital Designs

Inks: HP Printer Grayscale, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Bundled Sage, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Spun Sugar

Paper: Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, P13 – The Four Seasons – Spring 6″ x 6″, P13 – The Four Seasons – Spring 12″ x 12″, Pink Cardstock

Happy Father’s Day Gnomes

KLM Digital Designs released some brand new stamps this month, and today I’m sharing Dad and Kid Gnomes (KLM Digital Designs)!  This new stamp contains adorable images of a dad, his children and 3 loving sentiments for your father. This stamp allows you to create your card to represent all of your siblings with your dad or just 1 if it is a special card.

For this card, I decided to create a card from a son to his dad.

To put the card together, I printed out the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and the sentiment onto Hammermill Premium Colour paper.

I die cut the Hammermill paper with Your Next Stamp – Stitched Rectangle Die Set. Then using stencils that I made with Avery Elle – PiercedCloudsDie, I created the sky using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean. For the grassy hillsides, I created stencils using Lawn Fawn – Stitched Hillside Borders and Lawn Fawn – Simple Stitched Hillside Borders – Lawn Cuts. Then I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Bundled Sage, Mowed Lawn, Crushed Olive and Peeled Paint to create the colour variations of the hills.

I coloured in the main image with copics and then fussy cut around them. Then I used a black marker to go around all of the edges. I attached the background to some AC White cardstock cut at 5.5″ x 4.25″. Then to finish off the card, I popped up the 2 coloured images with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape and placed them onto the background.

Gone Fishing!

It’s Wednesday, and this week I used Anthony James – R022 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the main image and Gone Fishing Sign – G103 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment.

I come from a family that LOVES fishing. My dad has always loved fishing and now my older brother has fallen into his foot steps of loving to fish too. I remember going fishing with my dad and I thought I had a really, really big fish. We were all so excited until I pulled up a big chunk of grass reeds. LOL! The fish were jumping all around us, but we couldn’t seem to catch any that 1 day.

As soon as we were back on shore, you could see the huge fish playing all over the lake. I think they were just laughing at us. But I’m not a 100% sure. LOL!

To make the card, I first used Your Next Stamp – Stitched Rectangle Die Set (YNSD214) to cut out the main image from Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and My Creative Time – Stitched Squares Inside and Out to die cut the square out of some white cardstock. Then I used my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black Ink to get a nice crisp image. I used various Copic markers listed below to colour in the image.

I decided to colour in the fish with PrismaColor pencils on the sentiment.

Next I ran both the coloured image and the sentiment through my Xyron Creative Station and placed both cuts over top of some green cardstock. Then I popped both up using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

The base of the card is 5.5″ x 5.5″. I edged around the card and sentiment with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Bundled Sage. For a final touch, I added a little fish under the sentiment.

I also die cut the sentiment at the same time and stamped it with Versa Fine – Onyx Black and then heat embossed it using Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool and Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder..

I was now ready to do the background. To achieve this I cut several die cuts using Monte Mart A4 Watercolour Book paper, Lawn Cuts – Simple Stitched Hillside Borders – Lawn Fawn and Your Next Stamp – Stitched Rectangle Die Set (YNSD214).

For the sky I used several Tim Holtz Blue inks in various shades listed below using a stencil that I had created from Avery Elle – Custom Steel Dies – Made in the USA – D-05-01 PiercedCloudsDie. For the grass I used various shades of Tim Holtz green inks – (see below).

I ran all of the die cuts and the back 2 layers of grass through Xyron Creative Station. Then I set them all aside.

I was now ready to assemble my card. I layered the first 2 die cuts onto the main die cut and then popped up the bottom grass cut with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. I then added on the characters that I made stickers out of for easy assembly. I popped up the upper half of the little dog with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. Hi Dreamerland Fans!

Today I’m sharing a card that I made using a new release stamp from Dreamerland Crafts called I Believe in Love.  I decided to make this an inspirational card because I loved the way the little girl was hugging her bunny with such affection.

Lastly, to finish the grass, I used a Rake brush and a mixture of Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mowed Lawn and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Pine Needles and some water. Capture the Good Times!

Hi Dreamerland Crafts Fans!

Today I’d like to share a card that I made using Dreamerland Crafts Photographer stamp from their new release this year. I decided to colour the outfit blue to match the cameras in the background. To create the scene, I also used several of the Dreamland Mix and Match background stamps.

I used some Canson Watercolour paper and wet it down. Then I stamped on my clouds using Clouds – Dreamerland Crafts Mix & Match Collection stamp and a mixture of Tim Holtz Blue inks which you can find in the list below. For the background blue, I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Tumbled Glass, some water and a watercolour brush.

For the greenery Flower Beds – Dreamerland Crafts Mix & Match Collection stamp was used and stamped with a mixture of Tim Holtz greens and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Gathered Twigs. Then I used the watercolour brush and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Wilted Violet for the flowers and to add in a little more colour below the shrubbery.

I popped up the little girl and bird with some 3M VHB – 2 sided tape after stamping the images with Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and then colouring the images in with Copic markers.

Background paper and sentiment are from Creative Memories – Shutter Bug collection which I thought was perfect to complete this card.

Note: Using my MISTI – Most Incredible Stamping Tool allowed me to do the placement of the Mix and Match images with ease.

I hope you like my little photographer! Are you ready to go out and take some pictures now too???
