Make it Rain!

Sharing a fun birthday card that I made for my husband this week using Make It Rain – CYNS728 (#YourNextStamp) for the main image and sentiment. I thought it would be fun to put the image inside a balloon too! Now if only that could be Lottery Winnings he was holding onto. LOL!

To make my card this week, I started out with a simple lime green card base, sized at 5.5″ x 4.25″.  For the bottom layer I used Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. paper and multiple Tim Holtz inks which I have listed below. Then I die-cut the top layer with my Cuttlebug and #Your Next Stamp – Confetti Panel Die. Hammermill paper was used for this also. I mounted the bottom layer directly onto  the base card and then attached the top die-cut layer using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

For both of the sentiments, I used my MISTI, VeraMark ink and Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail on black cardstock. Then a Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat emboss the powder.

The balloon was die cut using My Creative Time – Stitched Circle Balloon Dies MCT-D137 to cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card which I then stamped the main image onto using Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI. The image was coloured with Copic Markers.

To assemble the remainder of the card, the image and sentiment were popped up on top with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. Some ribbon was tied to the bottom of the balloon and some Kraftin’ Kimmie dots were used.

Happy Easter to my Gnomies!

Today, I’m sharing a card that I made using Bunny Painter Gnome and Sentiments Digital Stamp (KLM Digital Designs)! This little Easter Gnome has all of his eggs painted up to give out for Easter. Do you still paint your eggs for Easter too?

To make the card, I printed out the image and sentiment with my HP printer using High Quality Grayscale onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in the image and then fussy cut around it and the sentiment.

For the background, I cut out a piece of Strathmore Bristol paper 5.5″ x 4.25″.  Then with a stencil that I made using Avery Elle – Custom Steel Dies – Pierced Clouds Die, I created the sky using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean. For the grass, I used a mixture of Tim Holtz Distress Ink Greens – Mowed Lawn, Peeled Paint, and Twisted Citron. Then I used some water and 1/4 round Sable brush and #1 Fine Liner to create the grass.

I used my Xyrons to create a sticker out of the coloured image and sentiment and then mounted the finished image onto a white card base of 5.5″ x 4.25″ using double-sided tape.

Sending Smiles!

Spring is just around the corner!

It’s Wednesday, and for today’s card I used Andreas Kitties – R202 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the main image and Sending Smiles – G276 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. This cheery little girl is hoping to bring smiles to everyone she knows and hopefully put a smile on your face too. She’s already for Spring! Are you??? I know I am. LOL!

To make this card, I started out with a 6″ x 6″ card base and then mounted the background onto the card. I cut the ovals and scalloped oval using my Cuttlebug and die cut from My Creative Time – Scalloped Stitched Oval Dies. The sentiment was cut out using My Creative Time – Ribbon End Dies.

For the main image, I used Copic markers to colour it all in. I fussy cut around the image and then traced around all of the edges using my black Copic marker. I edged around all of the borders of the die cuts with various Tim Holtz distress inks. I assembled the card using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

To add the last finishing touch to the card, I added in some flowers along the side and a pearl in the centre for all of the yellow flowers.

Welcome Back Dreamerland Craft Fans!

To make his card, I stamped all of the images using my MISTI, Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in all of the images using Copic markers and then used my Cuttlebug and all of the die cuts from Coordinating Die & Clear Stamp Package (D172906) for Character Stamp D172006 Love The Music From My Guitar (Dreamerland Crafts Clear Stamps). I also die cut the sentiment at the same time and stamped it with Versa Fine – Onyx Black and then heat embossed it using Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool and Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder..

I was now ready to do the background. To achieve this I cut several die cuts using Monte Mart A4 Watercolour Book paper, Lawn Cuts – Simple Stitched Hillside Borders – Lawn Fawn and Your Next Stamp – Stitched Rectangle Die Set (YNSD214).

For the sky I used several Tim Holtz Blue inks in various shades listed below using a stencil that I had created from Avery Elle – Custom Steel Dies – Made in the USA – D-05-01 PiercedCloudsDie. For the grass I used various shades of Tim Holtz green inks – (see below).

I ran all of the die cuts and the back 2 layers of grass through Xyron Creative Station. Then I set them all aside.

I was now ready to assemble my card. I layered the first 2 die cuts onto the main die cut and then popped up the bottom grass cut with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. I then added on the characters that I made stickers out of for easy assembly. I popped up the upper half of the little dog with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. Once the scene was completed I mounted it onto 5.25″ x 4.25″ white cardstock.
