Ugly Sweaters!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a Christmas card using Ugly Sweater Time – SLF025 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Ugly Sweater Time – FFL025 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. I have a few ugly Christmas sweaters, that I love wearing at Christmas time. How many do you have? LOL!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. I cut the main background paper from Hot Buy – Recollections – Jewel Tones to be the same size and applied this directly to the base card using double-sided tape. Your Next Stamp – Winter Knits patterns were cut to the size of a little over .5″ each x 4.25″ and applied to the top and bottom of the card using double-sided tape. My Cuttlebug and My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out were used to die cut PhotoPlay – Tulla & Norbert’s Christmas Party paper to the size of 4″ x 4″. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Evergreen Bough was applied around the edges and double-sided tape was used to adhere it to the base card. The large oval was die cut using my Cuttlebug, Hero Arts – Infinity Die Ovals and Hot Buy – Recollections – Jewel Tones paper. This was popped up onto the square using U-Line double-sided tape.

With my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped both the image and the sentiment onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The image was die-cut using my Cuttlebug and Hero Arts – Infinity Die Ovals. I coloured the image in with Copic markers. The sentiment was die cut with Whimsy Stamps – Quick Strips Die Set and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Evergreen Bough was used to ink around the edges. The coloured image and sentiment were both popped up onto the card using U-Line double-sided tape to finish it off.

Believe in Santa!!

Hi everyone…today we are having a sponsor day over at the Passionate Paper Creations & Friends FB group site with Joy Clair Designs!! Today I’m using this adorable Santa image and sentiment from Joy Clair Designs called Love Santa Digital Stamps. Thank you Joy Clair Designs for sponsoring us.

I printed out the image and sentiment using HP High Quality Grayscale onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The image was coloured in with Copic markers and then fussy cut. The sentiment was die cut with my Cuttlebug and Whimsy Stamps – Quick Strips Die Set – WSD330.

For the base card, I used AC Cardstock – White and cut it and scored it to be 6″ x 6″. For the background, I applied Craft Consortium – Made By Elves (6″ x 6″) to the base using double-sided tape. A Sharpie – Gold Medium Point – Water Based Paint was used to go around the edges of the card and also around the sentiment. I applied some Ranger Inkssentials – Glossy Accents on top of the snow to make it look like an icy pond and applied some Stickles – Crystal around the edges. Once it was dried, I popped up the image and sentiment onto the background using U-line double sided tape to complete the card.

Moo-Chas Grass-ius!!

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Designs –  Udderly Fun from the new September release. This stamp also comes with 2 other fun sayings, “Have a moo-tiful day” and “Your Moo-velous!”

To make the card, I first imported the image and sentiment into Microsoft Word and printed them out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. Using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Die Layers, I die cut the image and then coloured it in with Copic markers leaving a thin white border from the dotted line. Using My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies, I die cut black cardstock to create a border for the image and put them together using double-sided tape. The larger dies from this same set were used to die cut the background from Doodle Bug Designs Inc. – Down on the Farm paper.

I die-cut the sentiment using Whimsy Stamps – Quick Strips Die Set. Then, I traced around the outer edge of the die with a coloured pencil onto black cardstock so that I could see the lines. I used my cutter and scissors to create a smaller outer border for the sentiment.

For the base card, I used Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock and cut it and scored it to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. Using double-sided tape, I adhered the patterned paper directly to the base and inked around the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot. The sentiment was added to the black cardstock die cut using double-sided tape. I added some 3M – 2 sided tape to the backs of the image and sentiment and they were both popped up on top of the base to complete the card.

Card Recipe:

Stamp and sentiment:  Udderly Fun – KLM Digital Designs

Inks: HP Printer Grayscale, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot

Santa’s Coming!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Motorin’ By Santa – T094 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Coming To Town – G271 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Santa’s motoring through town to bring everyone some Christmas Cheer!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. I cut the background paper from Stampin’ Up – Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper to be the same size as the base and inked around the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean. I applied this directly to the base card using double-sided tape. AC – Black cardstock was cut to 5.5″ x .75″ and adhered to the bottom using double-sided tape. I die cut the village using my Cutttlebug, Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock and Village Edges dies from Elizabeth Craft Designs. I coloured in the homes and put some yellow cardstock behind for the windows. Then I took the little doors, coloured them in and inset them back into the die cuts. Once this was done, I added Gina K Designs – Glitz Glitter Gel – Iridescent to the hills and Stickles – Diamond to the roof tops.

With my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped both the image and the sentiment onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in the image with Copic markers and then I fussy cut around it. I added Stickles – Xmas Red to the Holly on the motorbike and Stickles – Diamond to the pop pom on Santa’s hat. Using my Cuttlebug, I die cut the sentiment using Whimsy Stamps – Quick Strips Die Set. I ran this through my Xyron Create a Sticker and placed it on some red cardstock. Then using my cutter, I cut around it leaving a slim border.

Once everything was dry, it was time to assemble the remainder of the card. I applied the houses directly to the base over top of the road. The Santa image and sentiment were both popped up onto the background using 3M double-sided tape.

Pumpkin Buddies!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Pumpkin Buddies – TT020 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Happy Halloween Script – F232 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. These little Hallowe’en friends look like they’re getting ready to scare unsuspecting little ones this year. LOL!

To make my card this week, I began with die-cutting Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card with My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers for the main image and Whimsy Stamps – Quick Strips Die Set for the sentiment. The image and sentiment were then stamped using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink onto the die cuts. The image and grass were coloured in with Copic markers. The nose and eyes for the characters were coloured in using Sakura Glaze – Black Pen and Gelly Roll Sakura #8 Pen. I stamped out the image a second time and used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut it out so that I could use it as a mask to put over the coloured image. I also die cut a 1.5″ circle out of Inkadoo Stamping Mask Paper for the moon.

I placed the mask over top of the coloured image and the moon masked circle onto the large rectangle before I inked in the sky using various Tim Holtz inks listed below. I watched a video on YouTube by Glitter Grunge Greetings for inspiration on how to create my night sky. Once the sky was complete, I removed the mask for the moon and used the outside paper that I had cut the moon from to protect the sky while I inked in the texture for it using Picket Fence Studio Blender Brushes, Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Oxide – Fossilized Amber and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Hickory Smoke. I spritzed the moon and sky with some water. I removed all of the masks at this point and using double-sided tape, I applied the coloured image to my card base using The Paper Studio – Primary Base Colours 4.25″ x 5.5″. Lastly, I applied some Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Oxide – Fossilized Amber to the outside edges of my sentiment and pop it up on the card using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Pumpkin Buddies – TT020 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment: Happy Halloween Script – F232 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Inks: Memento – Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Oxide: Fossilized Amber, Wilted Violet, Black Soot, Faded Jeans and Seedless Preserves, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Stormy Sky, Chipped Sapphire, Tumbled Glass, Hickory Smoke

Vampire Treat!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Vampire Treat – TT022 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Happy Halloween – H232 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Hard to believe Hallowe’en is just around the corner.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base made from Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. I die-cut the bat background paper from Echo Park – I Love Halloween paper pad using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies. The edges were inked with Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Oxide – Black Soot and then this piece was adhered directly to the base card using double-sided tape. The same dies were used to cut the orange cardstock and the edges were inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Carved Pumpkin. Double-sided tape was added to the back of this piece and it was added directly to the bat background paper. Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card was die cut with My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers and the sentiment shape was die cut with Whimsy Stamps – Quick Strips Die Set. Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Oxide – Fossilized Amber was used to ink around the sentiment shape edges.

The image and sentiment were then stamped using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured in the image with copic markers. I stamped out the image a second time and used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut it out so that I could use it as a mask to put over the coloured image. I also die cut a 1″ circle out of Inkadoo Stamping Mask Paper for the moon. I placed both masks onto the coloured image. I tore some masking tape in half vertically to create the grass pattern and then used the reverse to mask the grass while I did the sky. I saw this on a you-tube video and thought it was a cool technique. A mixture of Tim Holtz Ranger Distressed inks listed below were used to create the ground and sky. I removed all of the masks and then for the circle I used the reverse mask to section out just the circle centre and coloured in the moon with my Copic markers. To finish off the card, I applied 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the back of the image and sentiment and popped them both up on the card.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Vampire Treat – TT022 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment: Happy Halloween – H232 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)
