Ex-Cuse Me!!

Sharing a birthday card I made for my sister-in-law this year using C.C. DesignsRoberto’s Rascals – Grouchy Pets and Roberto’s Rascals – Cutie Cats. Her name is Kitty and I always try to find fun images with cats to make her card. LOL!

To make the card, I began with the base of 3.5″ x 8.5″ Hammermill – Premium Colour cardstock. I also die cut the Hammermill – Premium Colour cardstock with the Whimsy Stamps – Slimline Marquee Die and my Cuttlebug. Using multiple Picket Fence – Blending Brushes and Tim Holtz Distress Inks listed below, I created my own background. Using the window pieces from the die cut, I traced around them onto Doodlebug – hey cupcake (6″x6″) paper and fussy cut around them. I applied some glue along the edges and attached them to the back of the panel.  Then I applied double-sided tape to the backing and attached this to the base.

Using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, the images were stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Cardstock and coloured in with Copic Markers. Once everything was coloured, I fussy cut around each of them. The sentiments were stamped onto Recollections – Black cardstock with Versamark ink and then heat embossed with Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail and my Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. Using my cutter, I cut around each of the sentiments. I added double-sided tape to the back of the images and sentiments and popped them all up onto the base card. Finally, I added some Kraftin’ Kimmie Pop Dots.

Inside of the card:

For the inside of the card, I used my large MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the sentiments from Art Impressions Glamour Pop-Ups – 5355 and Purrrfect Sentiments – HoneyBee Stamps. I ran the little kitty from the Roberto’s Rascals – Cutie Cats – C.C. Designs set that I had coloured earlier through my Xyron Create a Sticker and attached it directly to the card to finish everything off.

Thankfully, she loved her card and I hope you do too!

Sharing a card I made today using this adorable witch from All Dressed Up Digital Designs – Magical Day. This adorable little witch is all ready for Hallowe’en!

To make the card, I first imported the image and sentiment into Microsoft Word and printed them out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The image was coloured in with Copic markers and die cut with Hero Arts – Infinity Die Ovals.

On the left side, I used the following: Echo Park – I Love Halloween – Cut to the size of 5.5″ x 1.5″ and then I applied double-sided tape to the back and attached the spider Decorative Ribbon (07-3018478). Then, I used, double-sided tape and attached it directly to the base. I cut paper from the same paper pack to be 5.5″ x 2″ and inked around the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Carved Pumpkin. I applied this to the right side of the card using double-sided tape. For the centre, I cut orange cardstock to the size of 5.5″ x 1″ and Craft Consortium – Happy Haunting paper, cut to the size of 5.5″ x .75″. Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Designs – Pilgrim Boy from the new September release. This image also comes with 2 other sentiments “Happy Harvest” and “It’s turkey time”.  Canadian Thanksgiving is coming up soon and I’m looking forward to having a nice big turkey! Yum! Yum!

To make the card, I first imported the image and sentiment into Microsoft Word and printed them out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The image was coloured in with Copic markers and then fussy cut. I used a black marker to ink around the edges of the image.

For the base card, I used Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. and cut it and scored it to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. Echo Park Paper Co. – Farmhouse Kitchen paper was cut to the same size as the base and applied using double-sided tape. I fussy cut P13 – The Four Seasons – Autumn paper and applied it to the left corner using double-sided tape and glue. I thought the little squirrel was adorable, so from the same paper pack, I fussy cut around it too. The sentiment was fussy cut and inked around the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Carved Pumpkin. I then ran this through my Xyron Create a Sticker and attached it to Momenta – Cardstock. Once again, I fussy cut around it and applied Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Carved Pumpkin around the edges. The images and sentiment were then all popped up on the card using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. To finish off the card, I edged around all sides using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Vintage Photo.

Free Broom Rides!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Free Broom Rides – TT017 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Wicked – FF052 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Wouldn’t you love to go on a magical broom for a ride? I know I would.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base made from Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 5.5″. I cut the background paper from Echo Park – I Love Halloween paper pad to be the same size as the base and inked around the edges and onto the paper using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Carved Pumpkin and a Picket Fence – Blending Brush. I applied this directly to the base card using double-sided tape. Using my Cuttlebug and Essentials by Tattered Lace Dies – Easel Slider dies, I die cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and orange cardstock. Using black cardstock I cut another piece to the size of 5.5″ x 1.25″. I applied this to the base using double-sided tape. I inked around the orange die cut with a Picket Fence – Blending Brush and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot. I applied 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the back of the orange die cut and applied it to the base.

The image and sentiment were then stamped using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured in the image with Copic markers. The sentiment was die cut with my Cuttlebug and Whimsy – Quick Strips Die Set dies. I inked around the edges and on top by first using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Carved Pumpkin with a Picket Fence – Blending Brush and then around the edges again, this time using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot. To finish off the card, I applied 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the back of the image and sentiment and popped them both up.

Vampire Treat!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Vampire Treat – TT022 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Happy Halloween – H232 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Hard to believe Hallowe’en is just around the corner.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base made from Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. I die-cut the bat background paper from Echo Park – I Love Halloween paper pad using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies. The edges were inked with Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Oxide – Black Soot and then this piece was adhered directly to the base card using double-sided tape. The same dies were used to cut the orange cardstock and the edges were inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Carved Pumpkin. Double-sided tape was added to the back of this piece and it was added directly to the bat background paper. Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card was die cut with My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers and the sentiment shape was die cut with Whimsy Stamps – Quick Strips Die Set. Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Oxide – Fossilized Amber was used to ink around the sentiment shape edges.

The image and sentiment were then stamped using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured in the image with copic markers. I stamped out the image a second time and used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut it out so that I could use it as a mask to put over the coloured image. I also die cut a 1″ circle out of Inkadoo Stamping Mask Paper for the moon. I placed both masks onto the coloured image. I tore some masking tape in half vertically to create the grass pattern and then used the reverse to mask the grass while I did the sky. I saw this on a you-tube video and thought it was a cool technique. A mixture of Tim Holtz Ranger Distressed inks listed below were used to create the ground and sky. I removed all of the masks and then for the circle I used the reverse mask to section out just the circle centre and coloured in the moon with my Copic markers. To finish off the card, I applied 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the back of the image and sentiment and popped them both up on the card.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Vampire Treat – TT022 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment: Happy Halloween – H232 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Might Need Some Help!!

My older brother is a retired fireman. Today, I’m sharing this fun image and sentiment from KLM Digital Designs called Fireman Gnome that I made for his birthday.

To make the card, I first imported the image and sentiment into Microsoft Word. I sized both the image and sentiment to fit 5.5″ x 4.25″ and printed everything out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. I printed out a second image onto regular paper with just the fireman and then used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around the image. The cut out image was used as a mask over top of the main image while I created the flames in the background. I used a variety of Tim Holtz inks listed below and the stencil from Honey Bee Stamps – Flames.

Once the background was completed, I coloured in the image with Copic markers. Then, I attached the image to the base using double-sided tape. My brother loved his card and I hope you do too!

C’mon Baby Light My Fire!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I used Walker Walter – TLF013 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) and Walker Winnie – TLF012 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the main images and Light My Fire – F154 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. I thought I would create a Senior’s Valentine’s card with these fun images. This could also be used for an Anniversary card too. After all, you’re never too old to be in love!!!

To make my card this week, I used Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. for my base at 4.25″ x 5.5″. I taped down the card onto a glass mat and then used the stencils Flames – Honey Bee Stamps to create the background using various Tim Holtz Distress inks which I have listed below.

I stamped both the images and sentiment using my Misti and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in the images using Copic Markers. Then I fussy cut around both images and in between the walkers. The sentiment was also fussy cut and I cut into 2 pieces to fit my design better. I added 2-sided tape to the back of my sentiments and then attached them to a small piece of Martha Stewart Crafts – Enchanted Woodland paper. Ran this through my Xyron Create a Sticker and then fussy cut around the sentiment again. I found the white too bright when I added it to the card, so I used Copic Y11 to give it some colour.

For the main images, once coloured, I ran both of them through my Xyron Creative Station and adhered them directly to the base. I used my Cuttlebug to cut some hearts out of Martha Stewart Crafts – Enchanted Woodland paper using Sizzix Framelets – Hearts Dotted die. Then I ran them through my Xyron Create a Sticker to change them into stickers and placed them directly onto the base. For the few spots on the images that I didn’t fussy cut, I used Copic markers YR23, YR16 and YR15 to fill in the white spaces.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Walker Walter – TLF013 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps), Walker Winnie – TLF012 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment Background: Light My Fire – F154 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Grad Gnome!!

My nephew graduated and I couldn’t resist sharing this adorable little Graduation Gnome With Diploma from KLM Digital Designs that I made for him. The image comes with 3 different sentiments, “Congrats Grad!”, which I’ve used on my card and also, “Congratulations” and “Today is your day!”.

To make the card, I printed out the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around the image and coloured it in with Copic markers.

I used Hammermill paper to create the base shape of the card 8.5″ x 4.25″. I scored the paper at 4.25″. Then I used a mixture of Tim Holtz inks to create the background. Once I was satisfied with the look, I used Hammerill paper, my Cuttlebug and Your Next Stamp – Confetti Panel Die and popped this die cut up over the coloured background using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. The sentiment was die cut using MFT – Die-namics Pierced Fishtail Flags, inked around the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Barn Door and then popped up with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

The sentiment was popped up the same way to complete the card.

Gobble Till You Wobble!!

Our American friends are celebrating Thanksgiving this week and I couldn’t resist sharing this adorable little Harvest I Gnome from KLM Digital Designs new November release. The image comes with 3 different sentiments, “Gobble ‘Til You Wobble”, which I’ve used on my card and also, “Seasons of Thanks” and “Give Thanks”.

I decided to make this card a fun easel card. I love the little gnome and the sentiment that came with it. Here is a close-up of the gnome.

I scored the paper at 5.5″ and 8.25″.  I also, cut some Hammerill paper to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. I cut the Gnome background paper to the same size using PhotoPlay – Gnome for the Holidays Thanksgiving. I also used this same paper for the inside of the card. The oval was die cut using my Cuttlebug and Elizabeth Craft – Accordian Circle Card 769 using Pebbles – Harvest paper. The sentiment was die cut with My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Carved Pumpkin ink was used to ink around all of the edges of the pieces.

The card was now ready to put together. I adhered the Gnome background paper to the Hammermill 5.5″ x 4.25″ separate piece that was cut earlier. The Pebbles – Harvest paper was attached to the inside of the card. I popped up the oval background with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

To finish off the card, I added a added an Action Wobble Spring, so that this little Harvest Gnome could gobble till he wobbled. LOL!

Small Seeds of Gratitude!!

Today I’m sharing  Harvest II Gnome (KLM Digital Designs) image from the November release. This adorable little Gnome comes with 3 different sentiments. One of them, I have used here. The others are “You are the Pumpkin to my pie” and “For the cutest Pumpkin in the patch”. Happy Thanksgiving to all of our American friends from Canada!

I printed out the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and the sentiment on to Recollections white paper using my HP Printer. I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around the image and coloured it in with Copic markers. The sentiment was inked around the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Carved Pumpkin. I ran the coloured image and the sentiment through my Xyron Creative Station to make them into stickers and then attached both of them to some Recollections black cardstock. I used my small cutter to cut a small border around the sentiment and fussy cut the small border around the image.

The patterned background is from Echo Park – Happy Fall. I cut it to be 5.5″ x 2″ and then inked around the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Carved Pumpkin. The card was now ready to assemble. I started out with a white base of 5.5″ x 4.25″. I attached the patterned background directly to the base using double-sided tape. Then I glued the image onto the base. The sentiment was popped up  using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. To finish off the card, I added in some Kraftin’ Kimmie – Pastel Dots.

Jack O’Lantern Gnome!!

Today I’m sharing  Jack ‘0 Lantern Gnome (KLM Digital Designs) image from the October release. This adorable little Gnome comes with 3 different sentiments. One of them, I have used here. The others are “Have A Gourd Time” and “Pumpkin Kisses and Harvest Wishes”.

I printed out the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around the image and coloured it in with Copic markers.  The sentiment was printed out on orange cardstock. I cut the sentiment and then inked around the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Carved Pumpkin.

For the domes, I used Bella Blvd – Spooktacular and Recollections – Purple Passions paper. I die cut them using my Cuttlebug and Sizzix – Rounded Tags. For the main background paper, I cut it to 6″ x 6″ to fit the base of my card. I adhered it to the base using double-sided tape. All of the cuts were then inked around the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Dusty Concord using a sponge dauber.

To assemble the card, double-sided tape was used to attach the purple dome. The pumpkin dome, gnome and sentiment were all attached using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape..

Pumpkin Kisses!!

Today I’m sharing  Pumpkin Girl (KLM Digital Designs) image from the October release. This little lady has her pumpkin all picked out for Thanksgiving. Now she can make some pumpkin pies and then carve out the pumpkin for Hallowe’en. Here in Canada, we celebrate our Thanksgiving this weekend. So Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Hope you have a wonderful holiday!

I printed out the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around the image and then fussy cut it in a few places. It was then coloured in with Copic markers. The sentiment was printed out on plain white cardstock and then I fussy cut around it, in order to spread it out. Then I ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker and attached it to some black cardstock. Then I fussy cut around it again.

The backgrounds were die cut with my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies Layers. The printed background was then inked around all of the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Carved Pumpkin.

To assemble the card, I began with a white card base of 5.5″ x 4.25″. The 2 background pieces were adhered to the base using double-sided tape. The image and sentiment were both popped up using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. Finally, some Kraftin’ Kimmie – Krafty Dots were added as embellishments.

Happy Fall Y’All

It’s Wednesday, and this week I’m sharing a card featuring Fall Joy – T041 from (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) with the sweet sentiment Happy Fall Y’All – G290 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps). These racoons are having a blast playing in the leaves. We used to do that too when we were little. So much fun. I love seeing all of the beautiful fall colours. Such a wonderful time of the year.

To create the card this week, I stamped the main image and then coloured it in with Copic Markers. Using My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies, My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layer Dies and my Cutttlebug, I die cut the main image and the background layers.

For the base card 5.25″ x 4.25″, I used The Paper Studio – Primary Base Colours. The backing behind the main images is from AC Cardstock – Autumn. I attached the main image to this piece using double-sided tape. The plaid paper is from PhotoPlay – Gnome for the Holidays Thanksgiving. Once this background paper was die-cut, all of the edges were inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Carved Pumpkin. This was then applied directly to the base with double-sided tape.

To complete the assembly, I added 3M VHB – 2 sided tape on the back of the first layers and popped them up onto the bottom 2 layers. The sentiment was stamped with Memento – Tuxedo Black in and I fussy cut around it. I ran this through my Xyron Create a Sticker and then layered it onto some Orange cardstock. Then I fussy cut around it again and ran it through my Xyron as well. Then I inked around the edges with the same Tim Holtz ink I used earlier. I placed it over the main image and used 2 very small pieces of 3M VHB – 2 sided tape where it went over the edges of the main image.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Fall Joy – T041 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment: Happy Fall Y’All – G290 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Witchy Poo’s Happy Hallowe’en!!!

It’s Wednesday, and Sitting Witchy Poo from (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) is back again to celebrate a Happy Hallowe’en and wondering what to do with all her candy.  My husband and I just LOVE Hallowe’en! We try to decorate our yard every year for the little ghosts and goblins who come to visit and we give out lots and lots of candy. Our front lawn gets turned into a grave yard for a day with spooky black cats, crows, skeletons, and more. On the porch we put out all of the animated little toys and of course the talking skeletons playing poker at the Bistro table. LOL! The children just love it and so do the parents! LOL!

To create the card this week, I stamped the main image and then coloured it with Copic Markers listed below. I fussy cut around Witchy Poo leaving just a little bit of white around the top of her body, but going directly to the line for the bottom of her. Flag Banner Dies from Craftin’ Desert Diva’s (restired) were used for the die cut and then the sentiment was stamped onto it. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Carved Pumpkin was applied around the edges to create a frame around the orange cardstock.

To create the background, Pebbles – Boo! paper was used. I wanted to add something a little extra so I pulled out my Kraftin’ Kimmie – Bats and Moons Stencil and applied Nuvo Glimmer Paste – Amethyst Purple! I just love the way it turned out. The bottom piece of cardstock was cut at 1″ x 5.5″. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot was used to go around all of the edges of the top and bottom piece.

Once everything was dry my card was ready to be assembled. I began with a standard white card base of 4.25″ x 5.5″. I mounted the coloured circles and bats cut at the same size directly on top of the base with 2-sided tape. I did the same with the candy on the very bottom. The image and the sentiment were both popped up with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. Finally, to cover some of my paste boo-boos, I added in some candy corn from Dress My Craft – Dessert Mix.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Sitting Witchy Poo – S151 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Make it Rain!

Sharing a fun birthday card that I made for my husband this week using Make It Rain – CYNS728 (#YourNextStamp) for the main image and sentiment. I thought it would be fun to put the image inside a balloon too! Now if only that could be Lottery Winnings he was holding onto. LOL!

To make my card this week, I started out with a simple lime green card base, sized at 5.5″ x 4.25″.  For the bottom layer I used Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. paper and multiple Tim Holtz inks which I have listed below. Then I die-cut the top layer with my Cuttlebug and #Your Next Stamp – Confetti Panel Die. Hammermill paper was used for this also. I mounted the bottom layer directly onto  the base card and then attached the top die-cut layer using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

For both of the sentiments, I used my MISTI, VeraMark ink and Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail on black cardstock. Then a Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat emboss the powder.

The balloon was die cut using My Creative Time – Stitched Circle Balloon Dies MCT-D137 to cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card which I then stamped the main image onto using Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI. The image was coloured with Copic Markers.

To assemble the remainder of the card, the image and sentiment were popped up on top with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. Some ribbon was tied to the bottom of the balloon and some Kraftin’ Kimmie dots were used.

Sunny Days Ahead

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I used Sunny Days Ahead – P004 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps). I searched to find colours that represented each word going around the image and found the following: Faith – Pink, Courage – Red, Hope – Blue and Victory – Purple and so this is how I coloured this image. I believe these words speak for themselves and in the days to come, we will all see the sun shining brighter days upon us all.

The card base is 5″ x 5″. I layered each of the papers and coloured image on black cardstock to pop the colours. I chose the paper of the children holding hands to represent the day when we can all get back to normal and hold hands and play together with our loved ones again. The chain link patterned paper represents how we are all linked together in doing our part to stay strong and healthy, and to give each other the hope, faith and courage to be victorious in the sunny days ahead. I popped up the final layer with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape and added in some black pop dots to complete this card.

Go Vegan!

Welcome High Hopes Rubber Stamps Fans!

It’s Wednesday, and this month at High Hopes Rubber Stamps we are celebrating Fall.  This week, I made a pop-up card using Tom’s Plea (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) who is pleading with everyone to go Vegan! Unfortunately, for Tom, I will probably still have Turkey for Thanksgiving! For me, Tofu turkey is just not as good. I’m sure he will still be able to sway quite a few people though. Actually, for years, we had ravioli and meatballs for Thanksgiving, because I used to work in the food industry creating the weekly food flyers, by the time Thanksgiving day came , I didn’t even want to hear the word “turkey”. LOL!

Card all popped up.
