You Got This!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Lasso Some Snow – TDG021  for the main image and Don’t Worry – FDG021 for the sentiment. We all need a little bit of encouragement every now and then and this little snowman is here to give us some.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″.  I used Echo Park Paper Co. – My Favorite Winter cardstock cut to the same size as the base card for the background. I attached this to the base using double-sided tape. Using my Cuttlebug, a mixture of square dies from My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out and Waffle Flower – Nesting Square dies, I die cut cardstock from Scrapbook.com Neutrals Smooth Cardstock and also Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I applied double-sided tape to the back of the tan square and applied it directly to the background. U-Line double-sided tape was added to the back of the dark brown square and popped up onto the centre of the tan square.

With my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the image onto the Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock square and coloured it in with Copic markers. Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen was used to create the snow in the sky. Sakura Glaze – Black and Gelly Roll Sakura #5 Pen were used on the eyes of the snowman. I applied U-line douhble-sided tape to the back of the completed image and popped it up onto the centre of the dark brown square.

With my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the sentiment onto Recollections – White cardstock and then die cut it out using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Ribbon End Dies. I inked around the edges using Copic – E59 marker to give it a dark brown border. I used my knife to remove the double border from the piece left behind and then traced the shape of the ribbon onto the remaining piece of Scrapbook.com Neutrals Smooth Cardstock. I cut this out with my cutter and scissors. U-Line double-sided tape was applied to both pieces and the completed sentiment was popped up onto the card below the main image to complete the card.

Thundering Rogue

Yo Ho Maties, today I’m sharing a Pirate card that I made using The Thundering Rogue – T053 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the main image and Yo Ho – H179 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. This image is perfect for a little boy’s card.

To make my CAS card today, I used AC White cardstock cut at 12″ x 6″ and then scored at 6″ to create a base of 6″ x 6″. Using double-sided tape I attached the background using Scrapberry’s – The Pirate’s Treasure paper. I thought it went perfectly with this image.

I stamped both the image and sentiment using my Misti and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in the images using Copic Markers. Then I fussy cut around the main images and coloured in the interior with Copic markers B97, B95 and BG11 to match the colours of the background. Using My Creative Time – Ribbon End Dies and my Cuttlebug, I die cut the sentiment and then inked around the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Faded Jeans. I added some Copic Opaque White to the tops of the ocean waves to give it that frothy texture.

To complete my card, I used 3M VHB – 2 sided tape and popped up both the image and sentiment to complete the card.

All Dreams Come True

It’s Wednesday, and this week, High Hopes Rubber Stamps new release Dreamy Willa – SLF010 is looking up into the stars and sharing this special moment with her little friend. I thought All Dreams Come True – G011 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) was the perfect sentiment to go with this adorable new image. Sometimes it’s nice to be just like Willa and just gaze up at the stars and just live in the peace and tranquility of the moment. Have you ever done this? I know I have.

To make my card this week, I started out with a base card of 6″ x 6″. Then I cut the main background the same size using Hot Buy Craft Smart – Moon Flower Magic. I just fell in love with this paper and thought it went so perfectly with the new image. I also die cut some miscellaneous cardstock that I had which had little stars and is navy blue using My Creative Time – Scalloped Stitched Oval Dies. I also, die cut the main image with the same set of dies out of Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The sentiment was die cut using My Creative Time – Ribbon End Dies. All of the die cuts were then edged with Sharpie – Gold Medium Point – Water Based Paint.

Both the main image and sentiment were stamped using my Misti and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. The image was then coloured in using Copic markers which I have listed below. Once the image was all coloured, I bumped up the background, image and sentiment with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  Dreamy Willa – SLF010 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment Background: All Dreams Come True – G011 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Die Cuts: My Creative Time – Scalloped Stitched Oval Dies, My Creative Time – Ribbon End Dies

Eek! You’re How Old???

Today I’m sharing a birthday card that I made for my sister-in-law whose nickname is “Kitty”. I have a lot of fun trying to come up with new creations with cats for her birthday each year. This year, I decided to use Going Catty – DP1021 (Clearly Whimsy Stamps), for my main image on the front of the card. Shown below is how it looked before I placed the die cut from Peek A Boo Poppers (YNSD219) – (#Your Next Die) over top of it.

To create the die-cut, I first used Lifestyle Crafts Cutting Dies – Nesting Circles to cut out the main image and then again to cut out the pop-out die cut using Echo Park Paper Co. – Imagine That. I then added glue all around the outside of the circle and glued the two pieces together as shown below.

I created a card base 5.5″ x 4.25″ and then mounted paper from Doodle Bug Designs Inc. – Sugar Shoppe. I popped up the circle previously cut out with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. I used the sentiment from the same Whimsy Stamp Set. I embossed it using VersaMark and Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail. Then I cut it out using Ribbon End Dies – My Creative Time. Lastly, I edged around all of the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Picked Raspberry. Shown below is the card with the pop-up closed.

This is the front of the card with the pop-up open.

On the inside of the card, I used the image from Birthday Critters – 30-466 (Penny Black) and sentiment from
Whatnot Sentiments Set Twelve – CYNS638 (#Your Next Stamp).

All images were stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI.

Spring is just around the corner!

It’s Wednesday, and for today’s card I used Andreas Kitties – R202 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the main image and Sending Smiles – G276 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. This cheery little girl is hoping to bring smiles to everyone she knows and hopefully put a smile on your face too. She’s already for Spring! Are you??? I know I am. LOL!

For the main image, I used Copic markers to colour it all in. I fussy cut around the image and then traced around all of the edges using my black Copic marker. I edged around all of the borders of the die cuts with various Tim Holtz distress inks. I assembled the card using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

To add the last finishing touch to the card, I added in some flowers along the side and a pearl in the centre for all of the yellow flowers.
