Good Times!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Bird Song – TDG016  for the main image and Good Times – FDG014 for the sentiment. These little birdie friends know how to whistle a tune. Unfortunately, I myself never mastered how to whistle! I’ve tried over the years, but just can’t seem to do it. LOL!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″.  I used Scrapbook.com – Brights Smooth Cardstock for the background paper. This paper is great because it’s already cut to size which makes it so easy. I applied it to the base using double-sided tape. Using my Cuttlebug and Your Next Die – Stitched Frame Snowfall Hill die set, I die cut the centre piece from Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and the frame from Crafter’s Companion – Luxury Cardstock – Gold.

With my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the image onto the Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock and the sentiment onto Recollections – White cardstock. I coloured in the image with Copic markers and then added some Stickles – Diamond and Stickles – Waterfall to the parts of the snow to make it sparkly. Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen was used to create the snow in the sky. To make the eyes stand out a little more, I used Sakura Glaze – Black and then added a white dot using Gelly Roll Sakura #5 Pen. Once the stickles were dry, I turned the coloured image and frame over and taped them together on the back with some Scotch tape to keep the 2 pieces together. U-line double-sided tape was then applied and I turned it over again and popped it up onto the card. The sentiment was die cut using my Cuttlebug and Essentials by Tattered Lace Dies – Easel Slider. I inked around the edges with Sharpie – Gold Medium Point – Water Based Paint pen, added U-Line double-sided tape to the top half of the sentiment and added it on top of the image. Lastly I added some YNS Gumdrops – White Sugar and Sparkle to complete the card.

My Cup of Tea

Coffee Loving Cardmakers is currently hosting the 2020 Fall / Winter Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! For my third entry into this hop, I chose the adorable stamp You’re a Squeak Heart  (Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps) and die cut from My Creative Time – You Deserve A Break (Retired).

The image was coloured with copic markers. I coloured in the image and then fussy cut around it. For the tea cup die, I folded the base cardstock in half and then put the My Creative Time – You Deserve A Break die slightly over the edge. I die cut the cup once again, this time using the paper from Your Next Stamp – The Perfect Blend Designer Paper. I edged around the tea cup with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Evergreen Bough. Then I glued the background paper on top of the base and also glued on the other tea cup die cuts.

For the little tag, I first stamped the sentiment with Versa Fine – Onyx Black and then embossed it with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder. This was then heat set with Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. I then cut the tags using My Creative Time – Little Gift Tags (Retired) die cuts. Lastly, the sentiment and coloured image were popped up using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

Make it Rain!

Sharing a fun birthday card that I made for my husband this week using Make It Rain – CYNS728 (#YourNextStamp) for the main image and sentiment. I thought it would be fun to put the image inside a balloon too! Now if only that could be Lottery Winnings he was holding onto. LOL!

To make my card this week, I started out with a simple lime green card base, sized at 5.5″ x 4.25″.  For the bottom layer I used Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. paper and multiple Tim Holtz inks which I have listed below. Then I die-cut the top layer with my Cuttlebug and #Your Next Stamp – Confetti Panel Die. Hammermill paper was used for this also. I mounted the bottom layer directly onto  the base card and then attached the top die-cut layer using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

For both of the sentiments, I used my MISTI, VeraMark ink and Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail on black cardstock. Then a Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat emboss the powder.

The balloon was die cut using My Creative Time – Stitched Circle Balloon Dies MCT-D137 to cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card which I then stamped the main image onto using Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI. The image was coloured with Copic Markers.

To assemble the remainder of the card, the image and sentiment were popped up on top with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. Some ribbon was tied to the bottom of the balloon and some Kraftin’ Kimmie dots were used.

BBQ King

Sharing a birthday card I made using Good In The Woods Accessories and Good in the Woods (Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps) for the images. A friend of mine is a BBQ King and has won multiple awards for his prowess at BBQing. I thought these stamps matched him perfectly.

To make the card I started with a base of 5.5″ x 4.25″ white cardstock. Next, I cut the background paper from Your Next Stamp Designer Paper Pad – For the Boys at the same size. I adhered it to the base with double-side tape and then edged around the entire card with Kraftin’ Kimmie – Stormy Sky ink.

I die-cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my Cuttlebug and Your Next Stamp – Stitched Rectangle Die Set. I stamped the images onto the die cut using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black Ink. Next I coloured in the image with Copic Markers and then ran it through my Xyron Creative Station. I adhered this to some red cardstock and created a thin border around it. Lastly, I popped up the image using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape and applied it on top of the background paper.

Eek! You’re How Old???

Today I’m sharing a birthday card that I made for my sister-in-law whose nickname is “Kitty”. I have a lot of fun trying to come up with new creations with cats for her birthday each year. This year, I decided to use Going Catty – DP1021 (Clearly Whimsy Stamps), for my main image on the front of the card. Shown below is how it looked before I placed the die cut from Peek A Boo Poppers (YNSD219) – (#Your Next Die) over top of it.

To create the die-cut, I first used Lifestyle Crafts Cutting Dies – Nesting Circles to cut out the main image and then again to cut out the pop-out die cut using Echo Park Paper Co. – Imagine That. I then added glue all around the outside of the circle and glued the two pieces together as shown below.

I created a card base 5.5″ x 4.25″ and then mounted paper from Doodle Bug Designs Inc. – Sugar Shoppe. I popped up the circle previously cut out with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. I used the sentiment from the same Whimsy Stamp Set. I embossed it using VersaMark and Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail. Then I cut it out using Ribbon End Dies – My Creative Time. Lastly, I edged around all of the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Picked Raspberry. Shown below is the card with the pop-up closed.

This is the front of the card with the pop-up open.

On the inside of the card, I used the image from Birthday Critters – 30-466 (Penny Black) and sentiment from
Whatnot Sentiments Set Twelve – CYNS638 (#Your Next Stamp).

All images were stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI.

Birthday Wishes!

Today I’m sharing a birthday card that I made for my mom using Yummy Cupcake Bunny (CYNS592) (#Your Next Stamp) on the front of the card and  Rosie Rabbit Gift (CYNS542) (#Your Next Stamp) on the inside of the card.

On the inside:

To make the card I stamped the images on to Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using Memento – Tuxedo Black and my MISTI – Most Incredible Stamping Tool to get a nice clean crisp image. After colouring the images, I fussy cut around them both. I then used My Creative Time – Scalloped Stitched Oval Dies to die cut an oval out of Doodle Bug Designs Inc. – Sugar Shoppe paper. I cut the remainder of the paper to be 4″ x 5.25″ and turned it over to the opposite side and mounted it onto a card base of 4.25″ x 5.5″. I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Picked Raspberry to ink around the edges.

For the sentiments I used Versa Fine Onyx Black and VersaMark ink and then embossed both with Ranger embossing powders listed below.

To complete the card, I mounted the bunny on the front with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to pop it up as well as the sentiment.

Happy Retirement Bros!

Sharing some cards that I made for my 2 brothers who both retired recently.

My older brother was a Fireman for many years and worked his way up to being a Captain. My younger brother worked for the Ontario Provincial Police Force (OPP) in various roles and became a Sergeant.  My brother in the OPP worked with forensics and we used to ask him how much of what we saw in TV shows was actually real. He thought it was amazing at how fast they could solve a crime and wishes it was that easy! LOL!

I am very happy for them both, but jealous at the same time. LOL!

I decided to make them both very simple cards and to do them both the same only changing the colours to match their professions. The red is for the fireman and the blue is for the police officer.

To make the cards I used various Tim Holtz inks to create my own background on a 5.25″ x 4.25″ background using the sentiment from Your Next Stamp –  Photo Booth Thumbs UP – CYNS709. Next I coloured in both of the images with Copic markers the same and then coloured in one background in various reds and the other in blues.

Next I used my Cuttlebug to die cut  Photo Booth Polaroid die (YNSD735) – (Your Next Stamp) and then embossed the sentiment using the same stamp set as above. I then attached the image to the die cut and popped it up with some 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

On the inside of the card, I used Your Next Stamp – Cool Tees – CYNS714 for the image and sentiment. Again I coloured up both images to represent their professions. Showing the inside of the 2 cards below.

Unfortunately, I still have to work for a little while longer! LOL! But, someday, my day for retirement will also come.

Congratulations to my 2 brothers, you both worked hard, sometime with long periods away from your families and and now you both deserve some time to enjoy life. Have fun!
