Peace Dude!

Today I’m sharing an inspirational \ birthday card using KLM Digital DesignPeace Gnome from the new March release. This image also comes with 2 more sentiments, “Peace begins with a smile” and “There is peace even in the storm”. Seeing this image made me feel nostalgic for my younger days in the 60’s and 70’s. I still remember how excited I was to get my very first pair of GWG bell bottom jeans and then LEVIS. LOL! Flower power was all the rage and there were flowers and peace signs everywhere. I was still young, but it was a really cool time to grow up.

AC Cardstock – White was used to create a 6″ x 6″ card base. BasicGrey – Lauderdale Patterned paper was cut to the same size as the base card and adhered with double-sided tape. Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Villainous Potion was used to ink around all of the edges.

The image and sentiment were imported into Microsoft Word and printed out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and 2 extra copies of the image were printed onto plain copy paper to be used for masking later. With my Cuttlebug, I die cut the image and the purple background layer using Quickutz Nesting Frame 7 dies. I fussy cut around the sentiment and then inked it very lightly with some purple that I had left on my blending brush. I ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker and attached it to a scrap piece of Recollections – Purple Passions paper. Once again, I fussy cut around the sentiment. The larger frame and sentiment edges were inked around the edges with the same ink as the base card.

The image was coloured in with Copic Markers listed below. The top portion of the image was fussy cut and I applied some Washi Tape to the back of it to create a hinge and to mask the image. Using blender brushes and multiple Tim Holtz Distress Inks, I created the clouds in the sky with Lawn Fawn Cuts – Cloudy Stencil.

Once I completed the sky, I used second image that I had printed out onto the copy paper for 2 purposes. The first purpose was to use a stylus and tracing paper to transfer the image onto the patterned paper from BasicGrey – Lauderdale Paper Pad for paper piecing the gnome’s shirt. I loved the wild flower pattern and thought it was perfect for this hippie gnome. Once the pattern was transfered, I fussy cut it out. I used my Copic markers to create a small shadow on various parts of the shirt. With a Pigma Micron 03 black marker, I drew the lines in darker so that they would stand out on the shirt and then used a black marker to go around all of the pieces. Once completed, all of the pieces were put through a Xyron Create a Sticker to make it easier to stick to them to the coloured image and also so that they would lay flat. I then added the pieces to the main image.

The printed image was then fussy cut and the sand was added using a blender brush, Krafty Kolours – Sandy Shores for the base and a mixture of Copic markers listed below.

The remainder of the card was now ready to assemble. I added U-Line double-sided tape to the backs of the sentiment, large purple frame and image. They were all then popped up onto card.

3 Stooges!

It’s Wednesday and today I’m sharing a birthday card using KLM Digital DesignThree Stooges Gnome from the new January release. This image also comes with 2 more sentiments, “Just relax and except the crazy” and “Make time for yourself”. I grew up watching “The 3 Stooges” and if these gnomes are anything like they were, you never know what’s going to happen. LOL!

Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock was used to create a 5.5″ x 5.5″ card base. I cut Echo Park – It’s Your Birthday (6″x6″ Double-Sided) designer paper to be the same size and adhered it to the base using double-sided tape. The image and sentiment were imported into Microsoft Word and printed out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The printed image and Echo Park – It’s Your Birthday designer paper were both die cut using my Cuttlebug and Whimsy – Wavy Stitched Squares Die Set. I inked around the designer paper with Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Black Soot and popped it onto the base using U-Line double-sided tape. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Spiced Marmalade was applied around all of the outer edges of the card.  The main image was coloured in with the Copic markers listed below and then popped up onto the centre of the designer paper with U-Line double sided tape. The sentiments were fussy cut and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Spiced Marmalade was applied around the edges. I wanted the larger sentiment to stand out a little more, so I first ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker and then adhered it to a scrap piece of Recollections – Black cardstock. I fussy cut around it again and then applied U-Line double-sided tape to both sentiments with double layers on portions of them and popped them up onto the card. Lastly, I used my Quickie Glue pen to trace around some of the spirals and dots on both designer papers and applied Martha Stewart Crafts Glitter – Crystal Fine to give it some sparkle.

AHH – 60!!

Sharing a birthday card I made for a friend using Art ImpressionsAHH Set – A4671 and Rock On Laugh Lines – 5422. I was late getting this birthday card out to my friend as usual and this face says it all. LOL!

To make the card, I began with the base of 8.5″ x 7″ Hammermill – Premium Colour cardstock, scored and folded to the size of 8.5″ x 3.5″. Using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, the images were stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Cardstock and coloured in with Copic Markers. Once the images were coloured, I fussy cut around them both. For the blouse, I stamped the image again onto DCWV – Pocket Blossom paper and paper-pierced it onto the image after I had run it through my Xyron Create a Sticker. For the image on the front page, a black marker was used to outline all of the edges.

For the front of the card, I die cut 3 balloons using my Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine, Concord & 9th – Pop-Up Par-Tay dies and Pergamano Parchment Paper – Rainbow Pastel and 1 balloon out of a spare piece of patterned paper to use for the inside of my card. The numbers were cut from Recollections – Black cardstock using my cutting machine and Lawn Fawn Lawn Cuts – Henry’s 123s. To create the background, I used multiple Tim Holtz Distress inks listed below, multiple brushes and Lawn Fawn – Confetti Stencils to create the background on the base card front.  The sentiment was stamped with a MISTI, Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and then embossed with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder. Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat the embossing powder. Then, I fussy cut around it.

The front of the card was now ready to assemble. I ran each of the numbers through my Xyron Create a Sticker and the balloons through my Xyron Creative Station. The numbers were then placed onto the balloons. I attached the first 2 balloons to the card and then drew in the strings with a black marker. I then added the last balloon and drew another string. A white pencil was used to create a bit of glow along the left side of the balloons. After attaching U-Line double-sided tape to the back of the sentiment and the image, I popped them up onto the front of the card.

Inside of the card:

For the inside of the card, I used Rock On Laugh Lines – 5422 – Art Impressions, Dance It Out Set – 5278 – Art Impressions, Be Happy Laugh Lines – 5279 – Art Impressions for the sentiments. I cut out 3 sentiment bubbles using Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine, Spellbinders – Die D-Lites Conversation Bubble 3 Etched Dies out of white cardstock. I stamped each of sentiments using a MISTI, Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and then embossed with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder. Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat the embossing powder. I ran each of the sentiment bubbles and my image through my Xyron Creative Station.

The inside of the card was now ready to assemble. I placed the 1 bubble sentiment at the top of the card and then using my image as a guide for placement, I attached the patterned balloon to the card first. The image was attached on top of it and then I added the bottom bubble sentiment. Lastly, I placed the final bubble sentiment to the card in between the other top 2 bubble sentiments to complete the card.

Thankfully, she loved her card and I hope you do too!

Hoppy Easter Bunny!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made an Easter card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Carrot Patch – TDG029 for the image and Hoppy Easter! – E038 for the sentiment. We always looked forward to Easter time every year because we knew we would be colouring all of the Easter eggs with our mom in all different colours. It was always such a fun time!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb., cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. I die cut the background papers from Echo Park – Welcome Easter cardstock using My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies and my Cuttlebug. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Spiced Marmalade was used to ink around all of the edges of both die cuts. I applied U-Line double-double sided tape and popped both papers onto the base card. Using the same set of dies, I die cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock. I stamped the main image onto this die cut and the sentiment onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black. The image was coloured in with Copic Markers. I used a black marker to add in more details to the butterflies and also to add a couple of antennas. U-Line double-side tape was applied to the back of the coloured image and it was popped up into the centre of the orange rectangle. Lastly, to finish it off, I added in a few YNS Tropical Paradise Gumdrops.

Might Need Some Help!!

My older brother is a retired fireman. Today, I’m sharing this fun image and sentiment from KLM Digital Designs called Fireman Gnome that I made for his birthday.

To make the card, I first imported the image and sentiment into Microsoft Word. I sized both the image and sentiment to fit 5.5″ x 4.25″ and printed everything out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. I printed out a second image onto regular paper with just the fireman and then used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around the image. The cut out image was used as a mask over top of the main image while I created the flames in the background. I used a variety of Tim Holtz inks listed below and the stencil from Honey Bee Stamps – Flames.

Once the background was completed, I coloured in the image with Copic markers. Then, I attached the image to the base using double-sided tape. My brother loved his card and I hope you do too!

Today I’m sharing  Vampire Gnome (KLM Digital Designs) image from the October release. This adorable little Gnome comes with 5 different sentiments. Two of them, I have used here. The others are “2020 Sucks”, “Bats About You” and “Don’t Let These Times Drain You”. I love this little gnome and with these fun sentiments, there are so many different cards that you can make.

I printed out the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around the image and coloured it in with Copic markers.  I added some Clear – Wink of Stella to the stars, moon and coloured squares on his hat and gown. The sentiments were printed out on orange cardstock. I cut them and then inked around the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Spiced Marmalade.

For the oval, I used Echo Park – I Love Halloween paper and die cut using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Scalloped Stitched Oval Dies. I also, used this paper on the top and bottom of my card. For the centre background, I used To Every Season – Stampin’ Up paper. I used some double-sided tape to join the top paper with stars to the haunted house background. Then I cut the background to 5.25″ x 4″ and inked around all of the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot. I also used the same ink to go around the edges of the oval.

To assemble the card, I began with an orange card base of 5.5″ x 4.25″ by using a pre-cut card by The Paper Studio – Primary Base Colours. The edges were all inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot. The background was adhered to the base using double-sided tape. Little Nutty Buddy

It’s Wednesday, and this week I’m sharing a card featuring Little Nutty Buddy – M150 from (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) with the sweet sentiment Happy Fall Y’all – G086 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps). My husband and I went on a wonderful nature walk this past weekend through the forest to see to falls. It was very beautiful seeing the fall colours and the little squirrels running around gathering acorns for their winter supply of food, just like little Nutty Buddy.

To create the card this week, I began with base card 5.25″ x 4.25″ from The Paper Studio – Primary Base Colours. I inked around all of the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Ground Espresso. The scalloped circles were die cut using my Cuttlebug and Spellbinders Nestabilities – Petite Scalloped Circles – Large. For the larger circle – AC Cardstock – Autumn was used and then inked around with the same ink used on the base card. The background acorn paper was die cut using My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies. Both of the background papers are from Your Next Stamp – Fabulous Fall collection. I inked around the patterned die cuts with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Spiced Marmalade.

The sentiment was stamped with Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and then Nellie Snellin Die – MFD 007 was used to cut it out. I then cut the border part of the die cut off and just left the oval centre. This was inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Spiced Marmalade. 2 Kraftin’ Kimmie – Holiday Dots were added on both sides.

I stamped the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. It was coloured in with Copic Markers. Then I put it through my Brother Scan and Cut to create the thin white border around the image.

To assemble the card, I attached the main background and large scalloped circle directly to the base using 2-sided tape. The sentiment, smaller scalloped circle and image were popped up with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

Stamp: Little Nutty Buddy – M150 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Greatest Fisherman

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I used Norman – Q038 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the main image and Worlds Greatest Fisherman – H159 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Norman is very happy today as he caught a magnificent Lobster. My dad LOVES fishing and can’t wait to go fishing again. Hopefully, that time will come soon and then he’ll be smiling just like Norman with his big catch of the day!

To make my card this week, I started off with a card base of 5.5″ x 4.25″. I used Belle Blvd – Secrets of the Sea paper for the main background.

I stamped the image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and then die cut it with my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – More Stitched Circles. I cut a slightly larger circle out of Orange cardstock with Lifestyle Crafts Cutting Dies – Nesting Circles and glued it down on top of the background paper. I coloured in the background using a variety of Copic Refill inks, Colorless Blender and a Q-Tip which I used to apply the colours. For the water, I wisped several colours back and forth and then added some Copic Colorless Blender and wisped the colours one last time. Lastly, I added some white caps by dabbing Sharpie Water Based Paint – White – Extra Fine Point onto the surface. I completed colouring in the rest of the image with Copic markers and then popped it and the sentiment using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. The sentiment was die cut with Die-Namics MFT-489 PCD Fishtail Figs STX.

Sharing a dog sympathy card that I made. It is always very hard losing one of our furry friends, especially when we cherish them as if they were our children. They say that we will meet again someday over the Rainbow Bridge so I drew in a rainbow on my card.

The stamps were all stamped with my MISTI – Most Incredible Stamping Tool.

Dog – Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps – Furry Friends. Stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and then coloured in with Copic markers. Stamped wings onto Recollections – Christmas Inkjet Printable Glitter Paper – 8.5 x 11″ and then fussy cut around them and attached them to the original image.

Sentiment – Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps – Furry Friends. Stamped onto red paper with Versamark ink and then embossed with Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail. Added in footprint with paw print from Stampin Up.

Die Cuts – Cut glittery clouds using Recollections – Christmas Inkjet Printable Glitter Paper – 8.5 x 11″ and Avery Elle – Custom Steel Dies – Made in the USA – D-05-01 PiercedCloudsDie.

Background – Fierro Aquarelle Watercolour Paper – Tim Holtz Distress Oxide – Faded Jeans and Tim Holtz Distress Oxide – Broken China. Rainbow combination of Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Candied Apple, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Spiced Marmalade,  Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Wilted Violet and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Squeezed Lemonade.
