Gone Fishing – Father’s Day

Welcome One Crazy Stamper Fans!

It’s Wednesday, and I’m back to share a second Father’s Day card this week that I made for my dad using Bear (High Hopes Rubber Stamps), Bait Shop (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) and Bob Hooked a Big One (High Hopes Rubber Stamps). My dad is an avid Fisherman and from the time he retired years ago, there are very few weeks that go by without him fishing, including winter. LOL!

On the front of my card, I used Bob Hooked a Big One (High Hopes Rubber Stamps). I then fussy cut around the image and mounted it onto some green cardstock and used my Cricut Explore to cut out the lettering.

For the inside of the card, I wanted to try something different and decided to make a pop-up card which I did in several stages.

Stage 1: I cut some green cardstock 12 x 6″ and then mounted 6 x 6″ piece from 49 and Market Tattered Garden onto one half of it. Next, I scored the paper in half and used Stampendous – Pop-Up Stage Die set to cut 3 pop-up levels as seen in the image below. Then I cut just a little off of each side and mounted the die cut piece onto some brown cardstock, cut 12 x 6″. I then used some double-sided pop-up tape to mount the Bait Shop – Bait Shop (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) and some double-sided tape to mount the bear – Bear (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) as well.

Here is a close-up of the Bear and Bait Shop.

Stage 2: To create the scene of the bear going through the grass, I used Lawn Fawn – Grassy Hillside Borders. I cut several pieces in various greens and then measured the back pieces to the pop-up that I created earlier. Cutting them at .5 in., 1 in. and 1.5 in. in the centre to fit around the pop-up. I also used some double-sided tape to pop up a few of the die cuts.

Stage 3: Lastly, I typed up an old saying for dad’s on my computer, printed it out and die cut it using Your Next Stamp – Stitched Rectangle Die Set (YNSD214).

Here is how the inside looks all finished.

Card Recipe:

Stamps:  Bear (High Hopes Rubber Stamps), Bait Shop (High Hopes Rubber Stamps), Bob Hooked a Big One  (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Paper: 49 and Market Tattered Garden – 6 x 6 Collection Pack, Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, Brown Cardstock, Various Green Cardstocks, Fish Paper

Get Well Gopher!

Welcome OCS Fans!

Today is Wednesday and I’m back to share this adorable little gopher nurse in a tea cup to cheer up your friend, who isn’t feeling so great right now from the new Get Well Soon collection. The stamp I’m featuring is called Gopher Tea Nurse (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) and the sentiment is Think Happy (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)!

I die cut some Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my Cuttlebug and Spellbinders – Labels 10. Using my MISTI, I stamped the image with Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. To get the crisp white edge around the image, I repositioned the cut out image back into the die cut and then taped the back to keep it in position. Then I coloured in my background around the image. Once completed, I removed the tape from the back of the die.

I die cut a second frame from the same die cut set (Spellbinders – Labels 10) and then edged around it with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Evergreen Bough using a dauber. Next, I put the die cut into Cuttlebug – Snow Dots embossing folder and ran it through the Cuttlebug again. I stamped the sentiment using Versa Fine – Onyx Black and then embossed it with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder. Next, I die cut the sentiment with My Creative Time – Sentiment Label Dies and edged around the die cut with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Evergreen Bough using a dauber. It’s Wednesday, and so I’m happy to be posting this adorable little dragon to help put a smile on your face! I decided to make an Easel Card this week. The dragon I am using is called “Seymore’s Sick Day” by High Hopes Rubber Stamps. It was stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then coloured in with Copic Markers. I then, fussy cut around the entire image.

To do the background behind the dragon, I cut out some Bristol Paper using my Cuttlebug and Lawn Fawn – Zig Zag Rectangle Stackables. Then used Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers to create the ground and shadow beneath the dragon. The clouds were done using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean and I had created a stencil from Avery Elle – Custom Steel Dies – Pierced Clouds Die. Finally, I ran my little dragon through the Xyron machine and layered it on top of the background that I had created.

Close up of the Dragon:

For the sentiment I used Tail Not Waggin / Get Well Soon” by High Hopes Rubber Stamps. I stamped the sentiment using VersaFine – Onyx Black and then embossed with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder.

I completed card by using the Zig Zag dies again to cut out  a border around the coloured image and sentiment. Sentiment was popped up with some pop-up squares. Around the background papers, frames and sentiment I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Wilted Violet.

Background Paper, Recollections – Petite Floral – 12 x 12″ (30.4 x 30.4 cm) and some flowers from my collection were then used to complete the card.

To make the Easel Card I just took a 5.5″ x 12″ piece of white cardstock and then scored at 6″ and then on one of the 6″ portions at 3″. This allows the card to lay flat when mailing.

Party Animals

Welcome OCS Fans!

Sharing a fun card featuring: High Hopes – Wild Party and sentiment High Hopes – Birthday Party Animals! I just love these little characters.

I first stamped the sentiment using Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Dusty Concord and then to emboss it I used some Versamark and Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder. Using my MISTI, made this very easy to do. I decided to add a little bit of bling as well, so I die cut a few small balloons and added them on each side of the sentiment. I also decided to give them some fuzzy pop-poms on their hats to finish them off. Enjoy!
