Birthday Girl – Fearless!

Hello There! Sharing a card with you today that I made for a very special co-worker who works non-stop to please everyone in our office as she manages everything from booking flights, creating Purchase Orders, setting up meetings, etc. The list goes on forever. She goes above and beyond her position and we all love her dearly for it. She takes our cubicles apart and rebuilds them all when the need arises or adds in new cubicles for new hires, decorated all of the offices for management and at times you can even see her up on a ladder fixes ceiling tiles or changing lightbulbs. LOL!

So for this year, I just had to make birthday card featuring the stamp from Kraftin’ Kimmie called “Fearless Farah“. I used both the image and sentiment from this collection. The sentiment couldn’t have described her any better. LOL!

To create the texture for the brick wall, I ran the Darice – Brick Wall embossing folder through my Cuttlebug using Bristol paper. Then ran Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Rusty Hinge across the top of the paper. Next I used a watercolour brush and a mixture of Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Tea Dye, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Vintage Photo and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Rusty Hinge to create the texture.

To make the sign I first embossed the sentiment and then used Craftin Desert Diva’s Fancy Frames die to cut it out. Edged around with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Wild Honey.

Get Well Gopher!

Welcome OCS Fans!

Today is Wednesday and I’m back to share this adorable little gopher nurse in a tea cup to cheer up your friend, who isn’t feeling so great right now from the new Get Well Soon collection. The stamp I’m featuring is called Gopher Tea Nurse (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) and the sentiment is Think Happy (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)!

I die cut some Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my Cuttlebug and Spellbinders – Labels 10. Using my MISTI, I stamped the image with Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. Next I coloured in the image with a mixture of Copic markers and PrismaColor Pencils. To get the crisp white edge around the image, I repositioned the cut out image back into the die cut and then taped the back to keep it in position. Then I coloured in my background around the image. Once completed, I removed the tape from the back of the die.

I die cut a second frame from the same die cut set (Spellbinders – Labels 10) and then edged around it with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Evergreen Bough using a dauber. Next, I put the die cut into Cuttlebug – Snow Dots embossing folder and ran it through the Cuttlebug again. I stamped the sentiment using Versa Fine – Onyx Black and then embossed it with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder. Next, I die cut the sentiment with My Creative Time – Sentiment Label Dies and edged around the die cut with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Evergreen Bough using a dauber. To complete the project, I edged around the remainder of the card with the same Tim Holtz ink.

80th Birthday!

Hi There! Today I’m sharing a birthday card for my loving mom who turned 80 this year. It was a wonderful birthday and my husband and I managed to surprise her. She didn’t know we were coming to visit as we kept it a secret. As she was walking towards the restaurant in the parking lot, my mom and dad looked up and saw me standing there. My parents were both so shocked to see me, as I live 7 – 9 hours away from home. I also managed to surprise her again when we went back to my brother’s place for desert. I had made her a birthday cake, which everyone loved. It was a very quick visit, only for a couple of days, but I wouldn’t have missed it! After all, 80 only comes around once in a lifetime. LOL!

For the card I chose the stamp by “Sherri Baldy – My-Besties Stamps“. I stamped the image using Memento Ink, Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and MISTI – Most Incredible Stamping Tool to get a nice crisp image. The image was then coloured in with Copic Markers and edged with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Picked Rasberry around the image frame, balloon and also the card.

I printed the sentiment out on my printer and then used my Cuttlebug and the die from My Creative Time – Stitched Large Balloons. Tied on a little bit of twine to complete the balloon. My mom loved her card and I hope that you do too!

Sweet Birthday Dreams

Welcome Dreamerland Fans!

Some of you may be new to my blog since Dreamerland Crafts is introducing the 2019 design team and today is my day! I was so excited to be asked to join the Dreamerland team this year.

For my card, I thought the little boy hugging his pillow with his little kitten on his back was adorable! It made me think of making a birthday card with him sleeping and dreaming about all of his wishes coming true.

Dreamerland Crafts – Birthday 08  was used to create the sentiment and  Dreamerland Crafts – ZZZ was used for the image.

Here is a close-up of the little boy image:

To make the card, I first die cut the image from Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my Cuttlebug and die cut from Spellbinders Labels 17. Then I stamped the image onto it using my MISTI (Most Incredible Stamping Tool) with Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

Copics were then used to colour the image. I chose a starry background to represent night time for his dreaming! This was die cut with Spellbinders Labels 17 as well and then edged with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot. Sentiment from Dreamerland Crafts – “ZZZ” was then stamped with Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and then embossed with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder and heated with Marvy Heat Embossing Tool.

For the sentiment, I used the die cut from My Creative Time – MCT 224. Sentiment was stamped with Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and then embossed with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder and heated with Marvy Heat Embossing Tool. Used Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Evergreen Bough around the border of the die cut.

Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Shabby Shutters was used for edging around the card.

Both the main image and Sentiment were popped up with  3M VHB 2-sided tape.

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Dreamerland Crafts – Birthday 08 – DS17059; Dreamerland Crafts – ZZZ – D19026

Hair: E47, E44, E43, R21, E25

Skin: E21, E11, E04, E00, E000, R22, R20

Pillow: E27, E25, E23, E21

Dragon – Sick Day

Welcome OCS Fans!

It’s Wednesday, and so I’m happy to be posting this adorable little dragon to help put a smile on your face! I decided to make an Easel Card this week. The dragon I am using is called “Seymore’s Sick Day” by High Hopes Rubber Stamps. It was stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and then coloured in with Copic Markers. I then, fussy cut around the entire image.

To do the background behind the dragon, I cut out some Bristol Paper using my Cuttlebug and Lawn Fawn – Zig Zag Rectangle Stackables. Then used Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers to create the ground and shadow beneath the dragon. The clouds were done using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean and I had created a stencil from Avery Elle – Custom Steel Dies – Pierced Clouds Die. Finally, I ran my little dragon through the Xyron machine and layered it on top of the background that I had created.

Close up of the Dragon:

For the sentiment I used Tail Not Waggin / Get Well Soon” by High Hopes Rubber Stamps. I stamped the sentiment using VersaFine – Onyx Black and then embossed with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder.

I completed card by using the Zig Zag dies again to cut out  a border around the coloured image and sentiment. Sentiment was popped up with some pop-up squares. Around the background papers, frames and sentiment I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Wilted Violet.

Background Paper, Recollections – Petite Floral – 12 x 12″ (30.4 x 30.4 cm) and some flowers from my collection were then used to complete the card.

To make the Easel Card I just took a 5.5″ x 12″ piece of white cardstock and then scored at 6″ and then on one of the 6″ portions at 3″. This allows the card to lay flat when mailing.

Card Recipe:

Stamps: High Hopes Tail Not Waggin / Get Well Soon K044; High Hopes Seymore’s Sick Day T058

Dragon: YG01, YG03, YG13, YG17, Y15, Y17, Y18, V12, V04, V09

Hot Water Bottle: B32, B34, B37

Thermometer: C1, C2

Background: Ground: Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers – Terracotta, Sepia, Tan, Moss; Sky: Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean

Around card and borders: Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Wilted Violet

Background Paper: Recollections – Petite Floral – 12 x 12″ (30.4 x 30.4 cm)

Happy St. Patty’s Day

Hi Everyone,

St. Patrick’s Day is coming up soon and so I thought I’d share this adorable little frog and an old Irish saying featuring High Hopes Rubber Stamps – Frog In Boxers Q018 and High Hopes Rubber Stamps – Irish Blessing2 P132 for the sentiment. My grandmother and her family came over from Ireland when they were very young so I am also part Irish.  When I saw these two stamps from High Hopes, I just knew that I had to put them together to make this card.

On the inside is the Irish saying:

Shake Your Ba-Donkey-Donk!

Hi There,

I’m excited to tell everyone that I’ve been accepted as a Card Designer for One Crazy Stamper High Hopes Stamps. Yay!!!

Today I’m sharing a birthday card that I made using a combination of High Hope Rubber Stamps – Party Donkey S113, Brayden’s Backside T066 and Warm Wishes S016. When I first saw the 2 donkey stamps, I knew just what I was going to do with them and it made me giggle just thinking about it! LOL! I hope that you get a giggle too!

I coloured in the High Hope Rubber Stamp – Party Donkey S113 on the front of the card and the fussy cut around the stamp. The cake is from the High Hopes Warm Wishes S016 stamp. I stamped it out and then fussy cut around it. I made the little flames using some spare yellow cardstock.

On the inside of the card, I decided to have some fun with the High Hopes – Brayden’s Backside T066. I stamped out the full image and then just the back haunches and tail. I coloured in both images and then fussy cut around them both. I attached the haunches using an Activation Wobble Spring. When you bring it to one side or the other. The butt shakes back and forth! LOL!

Here it is in action:

Happy Valentine’s Day My Prince!

My mom always told me that when I met my husband, I found my prince charming because he’s really handsome and does everything for me. My family calls me the princess! I don’t think it’s quite what my hubby had in mind for his princess, but it works for us! LOL! Everyone always asks me if they could borrow him. Sorry, ladies he’s all mine and has been for going on over 34 years. I couldn’t live without him, he’s my best friend.

This year, I thought I’d make him a special Valentine’s card with a little bit of humour that reflects our relationship! I do help when he lets me.

On the front of the card is the digital image from The Paper Shelter – Prince Charming.

Here is a close-up of the prince:

On the inside I used the stamps from Ai – Art Impressions – 4729 – In the Bag Set.

Here is a close-up:

The captions above and below the image were typed in Microsoft Word using the font Cooper Black, Size 14.

Year of the Pig 2019

Hi There,

Happy Chinese New Year! It’s the year of the pig and to celebrate it this year I made all of my friends and a few co-workers a special card! 12 of them in total this year.

For the front of the card I used Polkadoodles Piggy 1 from their Work & Play10 Country Life – Digital Craft Collection. I created the sentiment using WordArt in Microsoft Word.

Here is a close-up of one card.

This is a close-up of the little pig.

On the inside I used my MISTI (Most Incredible Stamping Tool) and stamped the sentiments using Versa Fine – Onyx Black and Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder using Craftin Desert Diva’s Dragon Festival Stamps.

Dragon boat is also from the same stamp set. Little pig is from Lawn Fawn LF-1595 – Hay There!

This is a close-up of the dragon boat and little pig.

All images were stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and then coloured in with Copic markers.

They loved them and I hope you do too!

Pig: R000, R00, R01, R02, RV10, RV11, C1, R17, R20

Happy 80th Birthday – Queen for a Day

Sharing a card that I made a few years back for a very sweet lady who turned 80 and doesn’t look a day over 70. I wish I could look as good as her at her age. LOL!

Here is the inside of the card.

To make the card I used Art Impressions Stamps U4251 – Beauty in Progress  for the front of the card and Art Impressions Stamps Popcards – 4859 – Oldie PopCard for the inside. Both images were stamped with Memento – Tuxedo Black ink using my MISTI onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and then coloured with a mixture of Copic and Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.
