Whimsy Donkeys!!

Sharing a birthday card I made using Whimsy Stamps Wonkey Donkey – DP1053 for the images and sentiments for my younger brother’s birthday card this year. I just couldn’t resist these fun characters when I saw them!

To make my card, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 8.5″ x 3.5″. For the background, I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean and a Picket Fence – Blending Brush. Using my Couture Creations – Go Power and Emboss and Whimsy Stamps – Slimline Marquee Die (WSD347), I die cut the blue patterned paper. I stamped the images onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock with my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured them all in with Copic markers and then fussy cut around all of them. Using my MISTI and Versamark, I stamped the sentiments onto Recollections – Black cardstock. They were then embossed using my Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool and Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail. I used some liquid glue to place the donkeys behind the die-cut cardstock and then applied liquid glue over the rest of the back of the die cut and adhered it directly to the base. U-Line double-sided tape was applied to the remainder of the donkeys to pop them up on the card out of the windows. Lastly, I added some U-Line double-side tape to the backs of each of the sentiments and popped them up onto the card to finish it off.

Ex-Cuse Me!!

Sharing a birthday card I made for my sister-in-law this year using C.C. DesignsRoberto’s Rascals – Grouchy Pets and Roberto’s Rascals – Cutie Cats. Her name is Kitty and I always try to find fun images with cats to make her card. LOL!

To make the card, I began with the base of 3.5″ x 8.5″ Hammermill – Premium Colour cardstock. I also die cut the Hammermill – Premium Colour cardstock with the Whimsy Stamps – Slimline Marquee Die and my Cuttlebug. Using multiple Picket Fence – Blending Brushes and Tim Holtz Distress Inks listed below, I created my own background. Using the window pieces from the die cut, I traced around them onto Doodlebug – hey cupcake (6″x6″) paper and fussy cut around them. I applied some glue along the edges and attached them to the back of the panel.  Then I applied double-sided tape to the backing and attached this to the base.

Using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, the images were stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Cardstock and coloured in with Copic Markers. Once everything was coloured, I fussy cut around each of them. The sentiments were stamped onto Recollections – Black cardstock with Versamark ink and then heat embossed with Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail and my Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. Using my cutter, I cut around each of the sentiments. I added double-sided tape to the back of the images and sentiments and popped them all up onto the base card. Finally, I added some Kraftin’ Kimmie Pop Dots.

Inside of the card:

For the inside of the card, I used my large MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the sentiments from Art Impressions Glamour Pop-Ups – 5355 and Purrrfect Sentiments – HoneyBee Stamps. I ran the little kitty from the Roberto’s Rascals – Cutie Cats – C.C. Designs set that I had coloured earlier through my Xyron Create a Sticker and attached it directly to the card to finish everything off.

Thankfully, she loved her card and I hope you do too!

I added some stars onto the dress with Gelly Roll Sakura #5 Pen and then used Wink of Stella – Clear over top of the flower, dress, shoes and wings. Using R85 and R83 Copic markers, I went around the edges of the die cut for the image to create a solid border. I fussy cut around the sentiment and ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker. I attached the sentiment to Scrapbook.com – Peppermint Smooth Cardstock and fussy cut around it again. The card was now ready to finish being assembled. Sharing a birthday card I made using Art Impressions Never Too Old – 5114  for the main image and sentiment. My friend and I tease each other about getting older. So, I thought this would be a fun card to make for her. LOL! I used another sentiment from this same set on the inside too, which reads, “Thanks for always being older than me”.

To make my card, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. Using my MISTI, Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock. The image was coloured in and fussy cut. Using my MISTI and Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink, I stamped the image onto Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. It was then embossed using my Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool and Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder. Spellbinders Die D-Lites – Conversation Bubble Three (S2-137) and my Cuttlebug were used to die cut the sentiment. U-Line double-sided tape was added to the backs of the sentiment and coloured image and they were both popped up onto the background to complete the front of the card. I repeated the process of inking and embossing for the inside sentiment to complete the card.

To make the card, I began with the base of 5.5″ x 4.25″ Hammermill – Premium Colour cardstock. Using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, the image was stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Cardstock and coloured in with Copic Markers. Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat the embossing powder. I added double-sided tape to the back of the image and attached it directly to the base card.

For the inside of the card, I used Art Impressions Glamour Pop-Ups – 5355. I stamped and coloured the image using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. Love this image because if you are going to get older, you might as well be fabulous and enjoy it!

Beautiful Day!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Winter Kitty – SDG006  for the main image and Beautiful Day – FDG013 for the sentiment. We just had a major snowfall over the last few days and this little kitty is all bundled up and ready to play!

Growing up we had a lot of snow during the winter and couldn’t wait to put on our mitts and snow boots and go out to play. We had huge snow banks in the schoolyard across the street and would toboggan down them or just slide down in our snow suits! LOL! It was sooooo much fun! Sometimes we even made big snow forts in the backyard with tables and chairs made out of ice and snow. We hardly spent anytime indoors and didn’t usually go back into the house until we had to or we were turning blue because it was so cold out, but even then we still wanted to continue playing outdoors. LOL!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″.  I used Scrapbook.com – Rainbow Smooth Cardstock for the main background paper. It was already the same size as the base, so no cutting had to be done. To get more use out of the same paper, I had cut the oval frame using my Cuttlebug and Hero Arts – Infinity Die Ovals first. Then, I placed the Rainbow cardstock onto the card base using double-sized tape. I die cut the square background using My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out and Pebbles – Winter Wonderland paper and the rectangle to the size of 4″ x 4″. The rectangle was cut from from the same paper pack to the size of 1.25″ x 4″. I inked around the edges of both shapes with a sponge dauber and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Evergreen Bough. Using double-sided tape, I placed both shapes over the pink background and hid where I cut the oval with the square. I cut out a smaller oval using the same Hero Arts – Infinity Die Ovals and Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I also cut out a 1.5″ circle using a circle punch. Lastly, I die cut the scalloped circle using WeR Memory Keepers – Quickutz Nesting Scallops dies and Hot Buy Craft Smart – Holiday Glitz Glitter Paper.

With my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the image onto the Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock oval and the sentiment onto the circle. I coloured in the image with Copic markers and then added some Ranger – Emboss It Pen Clear to the bottom of the oval and applied WOW! Sparkling Snow Embossing Glitter. I heat embossed this and added more embossing powder several times to create a thicker layer with my Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. Then I added some Cosmic Shimmer Fluffy Stuff and heat embossed it as well to puff it up. Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen was used to create the snow in the sky. Sakura Glaze – Black and Gelly Roll Sakura #5 Pen were used on the eyes and nose of the cat.

I inked around the edges of the large pink oval and the circle with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Picked Raspberry. I applied the coloured image directly to the pink oval and the sentiment circle to the scalloped circle using some liquid glue. Both shapes were then popped up onto the card using U-Line double-sided tape. To completed the card and add in some extra sparkle, I applied some YNS Gumdrops – Winter Wonderland to the background patterned paper.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Winter Kitty – SDG006 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment: Beautiful Day – FDG013 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Inks: Memento – Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Evergreen Bough, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Picked Raspberry, Ranger – Emboss It Pen Clear

Die Cuts: My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out, Hero Arts – Infinity Die Ovals, WeR Memory Keepers – Quickutz Nesting Scallops, 1.5″ Circle Punch

Thank you KLM Designs for sponsoring us. Today, I’m sharing a card I made using KLM Designs –  Owl and Sentiments. I really love your adorable images and working with them.

The base was created with AC Cardstock – White cut and folded to the size of 6″ x 6″. I cut the background paper from My Mind’s Eye – Hootenanny designer paper to be the same size as the background and applied it to the base using double-sided tape. From the same paper pack, I cut a piece of the designer paper to the size of 6″ x 1″ and glued this on top of the background at the bottom of the card. I cut a piece of Recollections – Brown cardstock to the size of 6″ x 5/8″ and applied that above the wording on the bottom of the card. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Rusty Hinge was used to ink around all of the edges of the card.

The image and sentiment were both imported into Microsoft Word and printed out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The image was coloured in with Copic markers and then I fussy cut around it and the sentiment. I applied Sakura Glaze – Black to the eyes and Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen for the highlights. With a FolkArt 1837 – Perfect Liner #1 and Copic Opaque White I added in some white onto the wings. I ran the image through my Xyron Creative Station and the sentiment through my Xyron Create a Sticker and applied them to Recollections – Brown cardstock and Recollections – Black cardstock. Then I fussy cut around the 2 again. I popped them up onto the card using U-Line double-sided tape to complete the card.

Created With Love!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a Crafty Gnome using Let’s Color – TLF028 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Created With Love – FFL012 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Crafting is always so much fun and I love to colour up new stamps all the time! This month’s Gnome Mania at High Hopes Rubber Stamps has a lot of fun new gnome stamps to choose from.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 5.5″. I cut the background paper from Photo-Play – Crafting With My Gnomies Paper Pack to be the same size and applied this directly to the base card using double-sided tape. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Twisted Citron was used to ink around all of the edges. Using my Cuttlebug and dies from My Creative Time – Bunch of Fun Circle Dies, I die cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and then stamped the image onto it using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. My Creative Time – Stitched Zig Zag Tie die was used to die cut Hammermill – Premium Colour cardstock and the sentiment was stamped using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured in the main image with Copic markers and then Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Twisted Citron was used to go around the edges of both die cuts. The image and sentiment were both popped up onto the background using U-Line double-sided tape. Finally, I ran small pieces of paper through my Xyron Create a Sticker from Hot Buy – Recollections – Jewel Tones paper pack and then through my Cuttlebug using My Creative Time – Stitched Zig Zag Ties die cuts. I placed the hearts onto the card to finish it off.

You Are My Son, Moon and Stars!!

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Designs –  L’il Boy Gnome from the new November release. This image also comes with 2 more sayings: “Happy Birthday” and “You’ll outgrow my lap, but never my heart!”.

To make the card, I first imported the image and sentiment into Microsoft Word. I added in an oval circle with a 2 pt border and placed it behind the sentiment to give me a guide line for where to cut when printed out. I printed them out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut out the main image and I fussy cut out the moon. I coloured in the image and moon with Copic markers.

The base was created with Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock cut and folded to the size of 5.5″ x 4.25″. I attached the background pattern paper from Hunky Dory Crafts – Mirri Card – Starry Galaxies, cut to the same size as the base with double-sized tape. I ran the moon through my Xyron Create a Sticker and placed it onto the starry background and then cut off the excess around the bottom of the card. I added in some stickers onto the background using Forever In Time – Foil Fancy Stickers – Outer Space. The boy was added using U-Line double-sided tape to pop him up onto the card. To finish everything off and complete the card, I used W R Memory Keepers – Crop-A-Dile Corner Chomper to create .5″ rounded corners.

Sewing Gnome!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Let’s Sew – TLF031 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Needle & Thread- FFL024 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. I just learned how to quilt a few years ago and really love it. This new image and sentiment would be perfect for all of your quilting and sewing friends.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of AC Cardstock – White, cut and scored it to be 6″ x 6″. I cut the 1st and 2nd layers using Recollections – Purple Passions paper. The 1st cut was 6″ x 6″ and the 2nd layer was cut to 5.75″ x 5.75″. These 2 layers were attached directly to the base using double-sided tape. The patterned background paper from Crafts – Designer Paper was cut to the size of 5.5″ x 5.5″ and popped up using U-Line double-sided tape. The smaller square was die cut from Recollections – Purple Passions paper using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out to the size of 4″ x 4″. This was popped up using U-Line double-sided tape onto the centre of the last square. Lastly, Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card was die cut using Spellbinders Nestabilities – Square Swatches for the image and My Creative Time Dies – Stiched Decorative Banners for the sentiment. The image and sentiment were both stamped onto the die cuts using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I inked around the edges of the sentiment with some purple ink that was still left on my blending brush from a previous project I had worked on. Then it was popped up onto the card using U-Line double-sided tape. Lastly, the image was coloured in with Copic markers and I created some writing on the sewing machine to represent various stitch patterns using a Gelly Roll Sakura #5 Pen. Pental Sunburst Metalic Med Gel Pen – Silver pen was used for the needle holder and the foot on the sewing machine. Once, this was all completed, I applied the image to the centre of the smallest square using double-sided tape to complete the card.

Dropping A Line!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a birthday card using Just Fishin’ – TLF029 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Dropping A Line – FFL013 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. High Hopes just released November “Gnome Mania”. There are so many new super adorable gnomes to choose from.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. I cut the background paper from Rust coloured cardstock to be the same size and applied this directly to the base card using double-sided tape. Using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers, I die cut the patterned paper from Photo-Play – Camp Happy Bear. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Evergreen Bough was used to ink around the edges. I added some thin double-sided U-line tape to this piece and popped it up onto the background. With my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped both the image and the sentiment onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. Craftin Desert Diva’s – Inside Scalloped Squares dies were used to die cut the Rust coloured paper and Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I cut a 3.75″ square out of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock and used this to piece the 2 die-cuts together after I finished colouring in the image with Copic Markers. This made the 2 pieces more sturdy for adding double-sided tape to pop it up onto the printed background. I die-cut the sentiment using My Creative Time – Curly Frames and then ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker so that it would lay nice and flat onto the Rust coloured cardstock. I didn’t have a larger border frame, so I used my Brother Scan and Cut to create a border around the die cut. Lastly, to finish off the card, I popped this up using U-Line double-sided tape.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Just Fishin’ – TLF029 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment: Dropping A Line – FFL013 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Inks: Memento – Tuxedo Black. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Evergreen Bough

Tools: MISTI – Most Incredible Stamping Tool, U-Line – 2 sided tape, Brother Scan and Cut, Xyron Create a Sticker

Toadly Awesome!!

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Designs –  Ryan The Frog Catcher from the new October release. This image also comes with 2 more sayings: “You’re unfrogetable” and “Don’t worry, be hoppy”.

To make the card, I first imported the image and sentiment into Microsoft Word and printed them out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card.  The image was coloured in with Copic markers and then fussy cut and inked around the edges with a black marker. I fussy cut around the sentiment and ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker. I applied this to some green cardstock and then repeated the process to add it to some more green cardstock. Once again, I fussy cut around it and then added 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the back of it to pop-it up onto the card later.

For the base card, I used Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock and cut it and scored it to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. I cut AC – Green Cardstock to the same size as the base and attached it using double-sided tape. For the inside background, I cut Reminisce – The Menagerie – Happy Frogs paper to the size of 5.25″ x 4″, 1 lime green panel – 5.25″ x 2″, 1 darker green panel, 1 medium green panel and 1 lighter green panel to the size of 5.25″ x .5″. I applied some Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Rustic Wilderness using a Picket Fence Studio Blender Brush to the 2″ panel on both of the long sides. Using my Cuttlebug and various scraps of greens and browns, I die cut the grass and cattails using Lawn Fawn – Shadow Box Card Park Add-On, Lawn Fawn – Bayou Backdrop and Lawn Fawn – Meadow Backdrop: Landscape.

The card was now ready to assemble. I attached the smaller patch of grass on the right side of the frog background with glue. Next, I added the 2″ panel on the left size. Using glue, I attached each of the remaining .5″ panels, centering them in between the 2″ green panel. The 2nd layer of grass was attached with glue along the lower edge of the card and then I used scissors to cut off the pieces that were over the edges of the main background piece. I made sure that no glue was added to the tops of the grasses. I pieced the 2 cattails together using glue and then popped up the tops of them with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. I added some glue and inserted the 1st cattail under the top blades of grass. 3M VHB – 2 sided tape was added to the back of the boy and the net, except for the area behind the shoes and he was inserted under the top blade of grass and in front of the cattail. The other cattail was then applied to the card using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape for the top part of the cattail and glue was added to the remainder of the piece and added to the card. The other 2 darker blades of grass were added with some glue. Lastly, to finish off the card, the popped up sentiment was added.

Surfin’ Dudley!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I used High Hopes Stamps’ image Surf Scene Dudley – S244. I’ve seen surfers in action while travelling the world, but have never gone on one myself. Who knows, maybe someday???? Dudley, sure looks happy sporting his vacation pose. LOL!

Using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in the image with Copic markers and used Copic – Opaque White to create the splash on the waves. My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers were both used to die cut the coloured image and background papers. The edges were inked around with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Evergreen Bough. The image was then attached to the Aqua background using double-sided tape.

To assemble the card, I began with a base card of Hot Buy – Cards and Envelopes (5.5″ x 4.25″). I popped up the 2 backgrounds with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape and attached them both to the base card. Lastly, I added some pop-dots from CC Designs – Dragon Dreams Enamel to finish it off.

Birthday Celebration!!

Today, I’m sharing a miniature birthday card that I made using Dreamerland Crafts stamps called Meow Meow 01 – D20013 for the main image and for the sentiments Birthday 07 – DCS17058 and Birthday 08 – DCS17059. I always wanted to try this type of miniature card! I just love the way you get the 3-D effect when you open the card.  So much fun. LOL!

Inside the card:

To make this card I used Lawn Fawn – Centre Picture Window Card to create the base card out of Hot Pink cardstock. The same dies were also used to create the centre pieces and banner using Your Next Stamp Designer Paper Pad – Birthday Girl. The same paper was also used to create the background on the card, front panel and side panels using Lawn Fawn – Centre Picture Window Card Add-On dies. Your Next Stamp – Mini Balloon Trio Die Set was used to die cut the floating balloons and then I tied some black thread to the base of the balloons. I cut 3 small pieces of clear plastic about a 1/4″ wide and attached the double-sided tape to the back of the balloon and at the base of the plastic as well to be used later.

Using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and also the sentiments onto the patterned pieces. I coloured the image in with Copic markers and then fussy cut around it.

I assembled the card using double-sided tape for each of the panels and centre pieces. I attached the balloons by putting 2 behind the presents and 1 from the top centre piece. Lastly, I added a little bit of double-sided tape to the bottom of the coloured image and attached it to the front of the main centre piece. For the sentiment on the front panel, I inked around the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Fossilized Amber and then popped it up using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. I added 2 balloons and used a black marker to create the tails for the balloons.
