Book Worm!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I couldn’t resist making this very easy bookmark using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Book Worm – P100 for the image. My husband I both love to read and with this adorable image, it is quick to create multiple bookmarks quickly. They would also be a great gift for the readers in your life too!

To make my bookmark this week, I stamped the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured in the image and I wanted the eyes to stand out. I added in a small line with a Pigma Micron #5 – Black pen and then added some colour to the eyes. To finish the eyes,  I added a little dot of white using a Gelly Roll Sakura #8 Pen. The image was then fussy cut with a small white border all around it. Crafts – Designer Paper – 02-3093268 was die cut using Die-Namics MFT-489 PCD Fishtail Figs STX and my Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine. I punched a hole using We R Memory Keepers Crop-A-Dile Eyelet and Snap Punch at the top of the bookmark. We R Memory Keepers Embellishment Makers Basic Tools-Tassel Loom was used to create the tassel along with 3 yards of twine and then 2 6″ pieces of twine.  I wanted the image to lay flat on the bookmark, so I ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker and then applied it to the die cut. I tied a knot in the twine to join the tassel to the book mark and then added some Ranger Inkssentials – Glossy Accents to the glass lenses to finish it off.

By The Moonlight!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a Hallowe’en card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps By The Moonlight – TT047 for the image and Block Happy Halloween – FF049 for the sentiment. These little friends are ready for some spooky fun on Hallowe’en.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb., cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. I die cut the background from Stampin’ UP! – Magic In This Night Designer Series Paper to be the same size as the base. Using a combination of Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot, Villainous Potion, Seedless Preserves and Fossilized Amber and finger daubers, I added some extra colour to the background. Martha Stewart – Hallowe’en Washi Tape was placed across the bottom. I cut Doodlebug Design Inc. – Hallowe’en Parade cardstock to the size of 1-1/8″ x 4.25″. I ran this through my Xyron Create a Sticker and adhered it to the base card above the washi tape.

I stamped the main image and sentiment onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. The main image was a little short for the full width of the card so I added some double-sided tape to a couple scraps of Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock and adhered them to both sides of the fence. The image and sentiment were then both coloured in. The image was fussy cut and U-Line double-sided tape was applied to it. I popped it up onto the card and then cut off the excess from the fence on both sides.  I cut around the sentiment and then ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker and applied it to a piece of Recollections – Black cardstock. Once again, I used my cutter to go around the sentiment, leaving a slight border. U-Line double-sided tape was applied to the back of the sentiment and it was popped up onto the striped paper background to complete the card.

Wizard

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Design –  Owl Gnome from the new August 2022 release. This image comes with 2 other sentiments as well, “Owl-ways friends” and “Have a wicked Day!”. Creating the spiral background with Stickles Glitter Gel was a little out of my comfort zone, but I love how the background turned out. I thought it went very well with this image and sentiment. What do you think?

To make my card this week, I started with creating my background first. I wanted to create a mystical background and I couldn’t quite decide between using white or black for the base. I finally decided to try black and I fell in love with the results. A Colorful Life Designs – Striped Spiral Stencil was placed over top of Recollections – Black cardstock. Using a spatula for even coverage over the stencil, Stickles Glitter Gel – Galaxy, Aquarius and Pegasus were added to the spirals. I carefully lifted off the stencil and set the background aside to dry. Once it was all dry, I felt that is was missing something. I didn’t like just the solid black behind and in between the spirals, so I decided to add in guess what? More glitter! LOL! This time, using my small spatula, I added Stickles Glitter Gel – Moon Dust over top of everything. This created the magical effect that I was looking for and I could still see the colourful spirals. Once again, the background was set aside to dry.

The image and sentiment were imported into Microsoft Word and printed out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The image was coloured in and then I fussy cut all around it and the sentiment words. Using my Xyron Create a Sticker, I ran the sentiment words through it and then applied it to a scrap piece of Recollections – Purple Passions cardstock. Once again, I fussy cut around the sentiment words leaving a small border. I applied U-Line double-sided tape to the back of the image and sentiment pieces.

The card was now ready to assemble. I created the base card using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 5.5″. I cut down the background piece that I had created earlier to be the same size and then using double-sided tape adhered it to the base. I added a little bit of glue to the U-Line double sided tape that I had applied earlier to the backs of the sentiment pieces and main image and then popped them up onto the background to complete the card.

Card Recipe:

Stamp and Sentiment:  Owl Gnome – KLM Digital Designs

AHH – 60!!

Sharing a birthday card I made for a friend using Art ImpressionsAHH Set – A4671 and Rock On Laugh Lines – 5422. I was late getting this birthday card out to my friend as usual and this face says it all. LOL!

To make the card, I began with the base of 8.5″ x 7″ Hammermill – Premium Colour cardstock, scored and folded to the size of 8.5″ x 3.5″. Using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, the images were stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Cardstock and coloured in with Copic Markers. Once the images were coloured, I fussy cut around them both. For the blouse, I stamped the image again onto DCWV – Pocket Blossom paper and paper-pierced it onto the image after I had run it through my Xyron Create a Sticker. For the image on the front page, a black marker was used to outline all of the edges.

For the front of the card, I die cut 3 balloons using my Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine, Concord & 9th – Pop-Up Par-Tay dies and Pergamano Parchment Paper – Rainbow Pastel and 1 balloon out of a spare piece of patterned paper to use for the inside of my card. The numbers were cut from Recollections – Black cardstock using my cutting machine and Lawn Fawn Lawn Cuts – Henry’s 123s. To create the background, I used multiple Tim Holtz Distress inks listed below, multiple brushes and Lawn Fawn – Confetti Stencils to create the background on the base card front.  The sentiment was stamped with a MISTI, Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and then embossed with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder. Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat the embossing powder. Then, I fussy cut around it.

The front of the card was now ready to assemble. I ran each of the numbers through my Xyron Create a Sticker and the balloons through my Xyron Creative Station. The numbers were then placed onto the balloons. I attached the first 2 balloons to the card and then drew in the strings with a black marker. I then added the last balloon and drew another string. A white pencil was used to create a bit of glow along the left side of the balloons. After attaching U-Line double-sided tape to the back of the sentiment and the image, I popped them up onto the front of the card.

Inside of the card:

For the inside of the card, I used Rock On Laugh Lines – 5422 – Art Impressions, Dance It Out Set – 5278 – Art Impressions, Be Happy Laugh Lines – 5279 – Art Impressions for the sentiments. I cut out 3 sentiment bubbles using Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine, Spellbinders – Die D-Lites Conversation Bubble 3 Etched Dies out of white cardstock. I stamped each of sentiments using a MISTI, Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and then embossed with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder. Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat the embossing powder. I ran each of the sentiment bubbles and my image through my Xyron Creative Station.

The inside of the card was now ready to assemble. I placed the 1 bubble sentiment at the top of the card and then using my image as a guide for placement, I attached the patterned balloon to the card first. The image was attached on top of it and then I added the bottom bubble sentiment. Lastly, I placed the final bubble sentiment to the card in between the other top 2 bubble sentiments to complete the card.

Thankfully, she loved her card and I hope you do too!

Best Friends

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Design –  Fido and Friend Girl from the new August 2022 release. This image comes with 2 other sentiments as well, “Admit it, life would be boring without me”, which is something that I always say to my husband, LOL! “Always better together” is another sentiment included with this adorable image.

The bond and love between a person and their pet is an unbreakable bond. We tend to share our happy times, hopes, dreams and sad times with them. They always listen to us and make us feel even better no matter what comes our way. We also share a lot of these times with our human best friends too, but I think our fur babies tend to know all of our secrets more than anyone.

To make my card this week, I started with a 6″ x 6″ card base using AC White cardstock. Stampin’ Up – Flowers For Every Season Designer Paper was applied to the base using double-sided tape. I cut a piece of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock to the size of 4.25″ x 5.5″. With various Picket Fence Studio Blender Brushes and a mixture of Tim Holtz Distress Oxide – Speckled Egg, Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink – Cracked Pistachio, Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink – Salty Ocean and Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Ink – Salvaged Patina, I created my own background that I wanted to use behind the image. Then, with my Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine and PinkFresh Studio Essentials – Blanket Stitched Oval, I die-cut an oval out of it and added some grass using Copic markers.

The image and sentiment were imported into Microsoft Word and printed out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The image was coloured in and then I fussy cut all around the image and used a black marker to go around all of the edges. The sentiment was also fussy cut and then I applied Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Fossilized Amber around the edges of it and also all around the sides of the card. Yellow ribbon and aqua ribbon were put together by first using double-sided tape to add the aqua portion to the yellow portion. Using my Xyron Create a Sticker, I ran the combined ribbon through it and then applied the ribbon to card, cutting off the excess on either side. U-Line double-sided tape was applied to the back of the die cut, image and sentiment pieces and then they were all popped up onto the card. Finally, YNS Gumdrops – Sugar Rush Sparkly were added to complete the card.

Kitty In Training!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a Hallowe’en card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Kitty In Training – TT052 for the image and Happy Halloween Script – F232 for the sentiment. Hallowe’en is one of our favourite times of year and my husband likes to go all out decorating our front yard. I always have fun finding new animated toys to add to our decorations and love seeing the little trick or treaters faces light up when they come to our house.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb., cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. I die cut the background paper from Pebbles – Boo! cardstock to be the same size and attached it to the base using double-sided tape. Using My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers and my Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine, I die cut Scrapbook.com – Brights Smooth Cardstock for the larger frame. Using the same machine, I die cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock using My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies. The thin stripes were die cut using Scrapbook.com – Rainbow Smooth Cardstock and PinkFresh Studio – Slim Stripes dies. Lastly, I cut a black strip using Recollections – Black cardstock to the size of 4.25″ x 1-3/8″.

I stamped the main image onto the Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card die cut using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and coloured it in. The sentiment was stamped onto a scrap piece of orange paper cardstock using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black and then it was die cut using my cutting machine and Gina K Designs – Sentiment Strips.

The card was now ready to assemble. I ran the thin strips through my Xyron Create a Sticker and adhered them to the black strip leaving small spaces in between them to be the same as the witch’s socks. I ran this whole piece through my Xyron Create a Sticker again so that it would lay completely flat when I adhered it to the base card. I added U-Line double-sided tape to the backs of the rectangles and sentiment and popped up all of the layers onto the card. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot was used to ink around all of the edges of the card and Stickles – Diamond was added to the small dots at the top of the card above the stripe lines. Gelly Roll Sparkle Pen was added to the sky to create some sparkly stars.

Sunflower Puppy

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Design –  Sunflower Fido from the new July 2022 release. This image comes with 2 other sentiments as well, “Always look on the bright side!” and “Like Wildflowers, You must allow yourself to grow in all the places people thought you never would.” I’ve always been mesmerized by the beauty of sunflowers and how tall they grow. Of course, eating sunflower seeds is also a lot of fun too!

I created a 6″ x 6″ card base using AC White Cardstock cardstock. Stampin’ Up – Flowers For Every Season Designer Paper was applied to the base using double-sided tape. Using my Cuttlebug and Gina Marie Designs – Ric Rac Nested Circle Dies, I die-cut Stampin’ Up – Simply Marbleous Designer Paper. With Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Blueprint Sketch and a small sponge dauber, I inked around all of the edges of the card base and the die cut.

I imported the image and sentiment into Microsoft Word and printed them out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The image was coloured in with Copic markers. After, I finished colouring the image, I fussy cut all around it and used a black marker to go around all of the edges. I used my cutter to cut around the sentiment and then ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker and then placed it onto Forever In Time – Sky cardstock. I cut the paper again leaving a slim border around the sentiment. I applied U-Line double-sided tape to the back of the image and popped it up onto the ric rac die cut.  U-Line double-sided tape was applied to the back of the die cut and sentiment piece and both were popped up onto the card. Finally, YNS Gumdrops – Circus Fun Matte Gumdrops were added to complete the card.

I imported the image and sentiment into Microsoft Word and printed them out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The image was coloured in with Copic markers. I fussy cut around the image and added U-Line double-sided tape to the back of it. Using Tonic Studios Craft Perfect – Iridescent Mirror Card – Tidal Wave cardstock, I cut out 6 little droplets of water. Using my Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine and Whimsy Stamps – Wavy Nested Frame Dies Set, I die cut the puddle out of the same paper. Just love how this paper looks like water. I ran the water pieces through my Xyron Create a Sticker and then adhered them to Scrapbook.com – Jewels Smooth Cardstock. I popped the image on top of the main puddle. Once this was all done, I fussy cut around the image and water droplets and added U-Line double-sided tape to the backs of all of the pieces and set them aside.

I created a 5.5″ x 4.25″ card base using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardsstock. Welcome The New Couple!!

Today, I’m sharing a Wedding card that I made for my cousin who recently got married using Dreamerland Crafts stamps called Welcome The New Couple – D18017 We wish them a very long and happy marriage as they begin their new journey together as one.

Love and Cake!

Sharing a birthday card I made today using KLM Digital Design –  Chef Gnome – Cake from the new June 2022 release. This image also comes with 2 more sentiments, “If we are what we eat, well, I’m pretty sweet!” and “If the cake fits, eat it!”. My mom always made our birthdays very special by creating special cake designs every year for each of our birthdays growing up. As a child, I never liked cake, but my mom used to wrap some change into tin foil and hide it in the cake. When all of my friends left, I would take a knife and cut through the cake to get all of the change out to put into my piggy bank. LOL! Unfortunately for me, I developed a sweet tooth when I got older and met my husband who has a really big sweet tooth. Only difference is he manages to keep the weight off. LOL!

I imported the image and sentiment into Microsoft Word and printed them out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The image was coloured in with Copic markers. I added some Wink of Stella – Clear to the icing and then I fussy cut around the coloured image. Using my Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine and Die-Namics MFT-489 PCD Fishtail Figs STX dies, I die cut the sentiment and also some Aqua cardstock.

The 5.5″ x 4.25″ card base was created using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardsstock. I cut the patterned paper from Echo Parks Paper Co. – Birthday Wishes to the size of 5.5″ x 3.5″ and attached it to the centre of the base using double-sided tape. Two .5″ strips were cut from Yellow Cardstock and then put through my Xyron with one strip attached at the top and one strip on the bottom of the card. The Aqua die cut was added to the right side using double-sided tape. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mustard Seed was used to ink around all of the edges of the card. I applied U-Line double-sided tape to the image and the sentiment and popped them both up onto the background. YNS Gumdrops – Celebration Sparkly Gumdrops were added to the top and bottom strips. Lastly, to finish off my card, I ran Art Impresisons – 5335 – Kitchen Mini Dies through the Anna Griffin Empress Mini die cutting machine using Crafter’s Companion Luxury Cardstock – Silver. I ran the 2 pieces through my Xyron Create a Sticker and attached them both to the sentiment tag.

Card Recipe:

Thank You!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a Thank You card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Gladiolas – TDG038 for the image. We are super excited to re-release 9 previously retired images today. This is the first image of many more to come!

It’s spring and my husband is busy in his garden, planting some beautiful flowers. Every year, he asks me what colours I would like to have in the garden and then he puts together a gorgeous display. Thank goodness he is taking care of them, because a green thumb is certainly something I was not blessed with. LOL!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. I cut Crafter’s Consortium – The Essential Craft Papers – Ink Drops – Ocean to be the same size as the base and adhered it with double-sided tape. I cut 2 .5″ strips of Recollections – Matte Gold Foil cardstock and adhered a piece on each side of the card using glue. I die cut the words “Thank You” using the same Matte Gold foil cardstock, PaperCrafter Today – 15 Die Cut Sentiment Set and my Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine. I ran the words through my Xyron Create a Sticker and set them to the side.

The image was stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and coloured in with Copic Markers. I fussy cut around the image and added some U-Line double-sided tape to the back of it. The images was then popped up onto card. I added the words “Thank You” that I had turned into stickers earlier to complete the card.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Gladiolas – TDG038 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Inks: Memento – Tuxedo Black

Paper: Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb., Recollections – Matte Gold Foil cardstock, Crafter’s Consortium – The Essential Craft Papers – Ink Drops – Ocean (6″ x 6″)

Die Cuts: PaperCrafter Today – 15 Die Cut Sentiment Set

Tools: MISTI – Most Incredible Stamping Tool, U-Line double-sided tape, Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine

Image coloured with Copic Markers:

Flower: B79, B66, B63, Y35, YR12

Leaves and Stem: G28, YG67, YG25, YG11

High Tides

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Design –  Beach Gnome from the new May 2022 release. This image also comes with 2 more sentiments, “Life is better at the beach” and “Enjoy the little things”.

I imported the image and sentiment into Microsoft Word and printed them out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The image was coloured in with Copic markers. I created the pattern on his shirt to make it look a little wild. Using scissors, I fussy cut around the coloured image. I also fussy cut around the sentiment, splitting it into 2 parts. I ran them through a Xyron Create a Sticker and adhered them directly to Recollections – Black cardstock. Once again, I fussy cut around the sentiments. I added U-Line double-sided tape to the backs of the sentiment and image and set them aside.

I created a 5.5″ x 4.25″ card base using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardsstock. I cut another panel to be the same size as the card base. Using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Squeezed Lemonade ink, a Picket Fence – Blending Brush and Kraftin’ Kimmie – Sunburst stencil, I created the sunny background. I did this by first laying down the yellow background and then putting the stencil over top to make the sun rays a little brighter. Using Krafty Kolours – Sandy Shores ink, I created the sandy shore. For the waves, I thought the paper from Bo Bunny – Down by the Sea Collection was perfect. Using the coloured image as a guide for placement, I cut along the wavy lines with the piece measuring approximately 1.75″ x 4.25″. Using a finger dauber and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Evergreen Bough, I inked along the top and bottom of the waves to remove the white. Using Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Tumbled Glass and a Picket Fence – Blending Brush, I added a bit of tint to the patterned paper. Using glue, I attached it to the background panel. I added in a small shadow under the sandals with Copic markers.

The card was now ready to assemble. I attached the panel to the base card using double-sided tape. I removed the tape backing from the image and sentiment and popped them both up onto the card. Using a button shank remover, I removed the backs to the Dress It Up Buttons. I applied some glue to the backs of each of them and placed them onto the card to finish it off.

Card Recipe:

Stamp and Sentiment:  Beach Gnome – KLM Digital Designs

Inks: HP Printer Grayscale, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Squeezed Lemonade, Krafty Kolours – Sandy Shores, Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Tumbled Glass, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Evergreen Bough

Birthday Hi!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Just Cruisin’ – SLF022 for the image and Just Motorin’ By – G309 for the sentiment. The gnomes are out again and this time their motoring by with a birthday “Hi!” for you.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. To create my background sky, I cut the Echo Parks Paper Co. – Birthday Wishes cardstock to the size of 5.5″ x 1.75″. With Lawn Fawn – Watercolor Wishes Rainbow – 6″ x 6″, I made 3 cuts. 5.5″ x .75″, 5.5″ x 1.25″ and with my Cuttlebug and Card Deco Essentials – Slimline Landscape Borders die, the tree landscape. I ran all of the pieces through my Xyron Creative Station and Xyron Create a Sticker. Using my Cuttlebug again and Recollections – Black cardstock, I die cut the road using My Favourite Things – Die-Namics – Open Road die.

The image and sentiment were both stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and the image was coloured in with Copic Markers. I fussy cut around the image and the sentiment and then added U-Line double-sided tape to pop them up onto the card later.

The card was now ready for assembly, starting at the bottom of the card, I applied the first piece of grass. I measured the distance of the road and then applied the second piece of green slightly lower than where the road would end. The sky piece was added next and then the tree scape. I used my E25 marker to make the tree trunks brown. I applied double-sided tape to the road piece and adhered it to the base. I popped up the image and the sentiment onto the background. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Tumbled Glass and a dauber were used to ink around the edges of the sky to complete the card.

Hedgies Happy Birthday!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a birthday card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Hedgie Stack – TDG027 for the image and Mini Sentiment Set #1 – HLL001 for the sentiment. These little hedgies are excited to wish someone special a very Happy Birthday!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 5.5″. I cut the Crafter’s Companion – Luxury Cardstock – Gold cardstock background paper to the size of 5.5″ x 5.5″ and adhered it directly to the base using double-sided tape. AITOH Origami – Print Chiyogami – Butterflies paper was cut to the size of 5.25″ x 5.25″ and glued on top of the gold paper. Using my Couture Creations – Go Power and Emboss and PinkFresh Essentials: Folk Edge Squares, I die cut another square from Crafter’s Companion – Luxury Cardstock – Gold and Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I popped up the gold die cut onto the floral background using U-Line double-sided tape. I stamped the main image onto the Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black.

The image was coloured in with Copic Markers. I used a Gelly Roll Sakura #5 Pen to create some more texture in the fur by just dabbing it everywhere. I’m hoping that it looks like little spikes at the end of their fur. I applied U-Line double-sided tape to the back of the coloured image and popped it up onto the gold die-cut. I stamped the sentiment using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. Using a 3/4″ punch, I punched out the circle surrounding the sentiment. Then, using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Bunch of Fun Circle Dies, I die cut a slightly larger circle out of a scrap piece of gold paper from Crafter’s Companion – Luxury Cardstock – Gold. I ran the sentiment through my Xyron Create a Sticker and attached it directly to the gold circle. Using some U-Line double-sided tape, I popped it up onto the coloured image. Lastly, to complete my card, I added in some PinkFresh Studio – Essentials Jewel Mix and flowers gems from the Dollar Store.

Card Recipe:

Stamps: Hedgie Stack – TDG027 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment: Mini Sentiment Set #1 – HLL001 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Keep On Swinging!!

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Design –  Tire Swing Gnome from the new April 2022 release. This image also comes with 2 more sentiments, “May your toes touch the sky” and “Why can’t we just swing into Friday?” I think it would be good if we could just swing into Friday and have fun weekends all the time! Don’t you?

Here it is in action.

I used The Paper Studio – Primary Simply Solids (4.25″ x 5.5″) for my base card. I wanted to create an interactive swinging card and I found a video on You Tube from My Favourite Things called “Creating an Interactive Swing Card” by Stephanie on Mar 7, 2019. I didn’t have the dies, so I used the video for inspiration and decided to create my own mechanism and die cuts. Using my Cricut, I took a rectangle and added a bunch of circles and then welded them all together to create the tree. I also created the swing mechanism by joining a circle and thin long rectangle and then welding them together. The grass was also die cut on my Cricut Explore. I die cut the trees and swing mechanism using Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and the grass with Recollections – Green cardstock. I coloured in the trees with Copic markers. Using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean, I created the clouds with Lawn Fawn Cuts – Cloudy Stencil. Using the mechanism for placement, I die cut a circle into the cloud background.

I imported the image and sentiment into Microsoft Word and printed them out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The image was coloured in with Copic markers. Using scissors, I fussy cut around the coloured image and inked around the edges with a black marker. I cut the sentiment with my cutter and ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker. I attached it to some Recollections – Black cardstock and cut around it again.

The card was now ready to assemble. I applied a small circle double-side pop-dot to the centre of the hole cut earlier on the cloud paper and attached it to a slightly larger circle at the back of the cloud paper. Using my EK Success Powder tool, I went around all of the sides of the pop-up to remove any stickiness. I applied the mechanism over top of the pop-dot and attached some extra two-sided tape. I applied another die cut circle over top of the raised pop-dot. This allowed the mechanism to now move freely back and forth on the page. Using double-sided tape on the back of the cloud paper, I applied the double-sided tape everywhere except around the mechanism and popped it onto the base card. I ran the grass die cut through my Xyron Create a Sticker and applied it directly to the cloud base. I took the 2 tree die cuts that I had created earlier and coloured and glued them both together. I attached the gnome image to the mechanism with double-sided tape and cut off the extra length not required. I added some double-sided tape behind the trees on both sides and only part way along the top on both sides leaving the area for the swinging mechanism free. This was then popped up onto the cloud background. I applied some U-Line double-sided tape and popped up the sentiment on top of the trees. Lastly, I added a penny to the back of the gnome to give it more momentum when swinging.

Card Recipe:

Stamp and Sentiment:  Tire Swing Gnome – KLM Digital Designs

Inks: HP Printer Grayscale, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean

Paper: Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, The Paper Studio – Primary Simply Solids (4.25″ x 5.5″), Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb., Recollections – Green, Recollections – Black cardstock

Miscellaneous: U-Line – 2 sided tape, EK Success Powder Tool, Cricut Explore, Xyron Create a Sticker, penny

Ex-Cuse Me!!

Sharing a birthday card I made for my sister-in-law this year using C.C. DesignsRoberto’s Rascals – Grouchy Pets and Roberto’s Rascals – Cutie Cats. Her name is Kitty and I always try to find fun images with cats to make her card. LOL!

To make the card, I began with the base of 3.5″ x 8.5″ Hammermill – Premium Colour cardstock. I also die cut the Hammermill – Premium Colour cardstock with the Whimsy Stamps – Slimline Marquee Die and my Cuttlebug. Using multiple Picket Fence – Blending Brushes and Tim Holtz Distress Inks listed below, I created my own background. Using the window pieces from the die cut, I traced around them onto Doodlebug – hey cupcake (6″x6″) paper and fussy cut around them. I applied some glue along the edges and attached them to the back of the panel.  Then I applied double-sided tape to the backing and attached this to the base.

Using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, the images were stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Cardstock and coloured in with Copic Markers. Once everything was coloured, I fussy cut around each of them. The sentiments were stamped onto Recollections – Black cardstock with Versamark ink and then heat embossed with Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail and my Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. Using my cutter, I cut around each of the sentiments. I added double-sided tape to the back of the images and sentiments and popped them all up onto the base card. Finally, I added some Kraftin’ Kimmie Pop Dots.

Inside of the card:

For the inside of the card, I used my large MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the sentiments from Art Impressions Glamour Pop-Ups – 5355 and Purrrfect Sentiments – HoneyBee Stamps. I ran the little kitty from the Roberto’s Rascals – Cutie Cats – C.C. Designs set that I had coloured earlier through my Xyron Create a Sticker and attached it directly to the card to finish everything off.

Thankfully, she loved her card and I hope you do too!

Birthday Wishes!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Fairy Flight – SLF036  for the image and Birthday Wishes – FDG024  for the sentiment. There are a lot of birthdays in our family during March, friends too, and this little birthday fairy is on her way to grant one of them their special birthday wishes.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. Scrapbook.com – Roses Smooth Cardstock was adhered to the base using double-side tape.  I die cut Creative Memories – Mermaid Cove Designer Paper Pack using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers and adhered it to the rose background using double-sided tape. Using Gina Marie Designs – Petite Looped Lace Rectangle Die Set, I die cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card.

The image and sentiment were then stamped with my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink onto the Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card cardstock. The image was coloured in with Copic Markers. I added some stars onto the dress with Gelly Roll Sakura #5 Pen and then used Wink of Stella – Clear over top of the flower, dress, shoes and wings. Using R85 and R83 Copic markers, I went around the edges of the die cut for the image to create a solid border. I fussy cut around the sentiment and ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker. I attached the sentiment to Scrapbook.com – Peppermint Smooth Cardstock and fussy cut around it again. The card was now ready to finish being assembled. I applied U-Line double-sided tape to the back of the coloured image and sentiment and popped them up onto the card. Lastly, I added in some YNS Gumdrops to complete the card.

Just Hoppin By!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Mr. Frog – SLF037  for the image and Just Hoppin’ – FLL030  for the sentiment. There are so many wonderful new stamps for our New Spring Release called “This and That” at High Hopes Rubber Stamps and Mr. Frog couldn’t wait to welcome all of you to go and see!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. I cut Forever In Time – Glam Glitter Cardstock – Ombre Brights to be the same size as the base and adhered it with double-sided tape. Using my Cuttlebug, multiple scraps of cardstock, Recollections – Black cardstock and Forever In Time – Glam Glitter Cardstock – Ombre Brights, I cut out all of the pieces for the background using Lawn Fawn – Bayou Backdrop die set. I glued all of the little leaves onto the vines and then using 3 layers around all of the outside edges with U-Line double-sided tape, I popped up the background onto the base. I popped up the pond to the background as well after applying U-Line double-sided tape. I used some spare Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and created a boulder for the frog to sit on which I put into the middle of the pond. This was also popped up. I stamped the image and sentiment onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black. The image was coloured in with Copic Markers and then I fussy cut around it and the sentiment. Using a black marker, I inked around all of the edges of the frog. I ran the sentiment through my Xyron Create a Sticker and placed it onto some scrap Recollections – Black cardstock. Once again, I fussy cut around it. I applied multiple layers of U-Line double-sided tape to the back of the image and sentiment and applied them both to the card to finish it off.
