Butterfly Kisses!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I used Bessie Buggies Bloom – S173 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the main image and Butterfly Kisses – D007 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Bessie is all set for Spring and flowers blooming. I’m not very good with flowers, but my husband has a green thumb and is really good at keeping our flower garden looking beautiful every year.

To make this card I started off with a base card of 6″ x 6″. I fell in love with this background paper as it suited the sentiment and the darling little butterfly “Bessie” so well. I tried to colour Bessie’s wings and outfit to match the colours of the other butterflies in the background.

Once the image was coloured, I added some Wink of Stella – Clear to the wings. Unfortunately, it doesn’t show up in the picture. I die cut the finished image using my Cuttlebug and circle dies and then I die cut a black circle to layer it onto. I thought this made the image pop. I stamped the sentiment and also layered that onto some black cardstock. I then popped up the sentiment and the image with 3M VHB – 2 sides tape. To finish off the card, I inked around all of the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Pine Needles.

Sunny Days Ahead

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I used Sunny Days Ahead – P004 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps). I searched to find colours that represented each word going around the image and found the following: Faith – Pink, Courage – Red, Hope – Blue and Victory – Purple and so this is how I coloured this image. I believe these words speak for themselves and in the days to come, we will all see the sun shining brighter days upon us all.

The card base is 5″ x 5″. I layered each of the papers and coloured image on black cardstock to pop the colours. I chose the paper of the children holding hands to represent the day when we can all get back to normal and hold hands and play together with our loved ones again. The chain link patterned paper represents how we are all linked together in doing our part to stay strong and healthy, and to give each other the hope, faith and courage to be victorious in the sunny days ahead. I popped up the final layer with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape and added in some black pop dots to complete this card.

May Your Day Be Filled With Love!!

It’s Wednesday, and I’m back this week to start off April with lots and lots of love from Elmer the Elephant using Elmer Elephant – Q043 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the main image and Large Filled With Love – H004 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. With everything happening in the world right now, I think we could all use a little bit of love. When I was a child, Elmer was also called Elmer the Safety Elephant, so I hope that you and all of your loved ones are keeping safe right now too!

To make this card I first die cut some Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using Your Next Stamp – Stitched Rectangle Die Set (YNSD214) and my Cuttlebug. Next I used my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink to stamp the image and the sentiment. I coloured in the image using Copic markers. Then I created my own background using a mixture of Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Festive Berries, Spun Sugar and Picked Raspbery and Kraftin’ Kimmie – Happy Hearts Stencil. I also did all around the edges with the Picked Raspberry. Lastly, added in the bottom border of hearts using Sizzix Framelets by Stephanie Barnard – 562676 – Hearts Dotted which I ran through my Cuttlebug twice with 2 different red cardstock. Then I inlayed the lighter colour into the darker hearts. I had also ran the cardstock through my Xyron Create a Sticker beforehand to make the die-cut work like a sticker and easy to inlay. I also used one of the small hearts for the “o” in “Love” and added some Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen – Red Berry on top of it. Finally, I mounted the finished image onto a white base card 5.5″ x 4.25″.

I come from a family that LOVES fishing. My dad has always loved fishing and now my older brother has fallen into his foot steps of loving to fish too. I remember going fishing with my dad and I thought I had a really, really big fish. We were all so excited until I pulled up a big chunk of grass reeds. LOL! The fish were jumping all around us, but we couldn’t seem to catch any that 1 day.

As soon as we were back on shore, you could see the huge fish playing all over the lake. I think they were just laughing at us. But I’m not a 100% sure. LOL!

Then I used my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black Ink to get a nice crisp image. I used various Copic markers listed below to colour in the image.

I decided to colour in the fish with PrismaColor pencils on the sentiment.

Next I ran both the coloured image and the sentiment through my Xyron Creative Station and placed both cuts over top of some green cardstock. Then I popped both up using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

The base of the card is 5.5″ x 5.5″. I edged around the card and sentiment with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Bundled Sage. For a final touch, I added a little fish under the sentiment.

Sweets for my Sooeet!!!

Valentine’s Day Is Almost Here!!! Who Wants Chocolate???

It’s Wednesday, and since Valentine’s Day is almost here, I thought I’d share this adorable little piggy called  Sow Soo-Eet Piggy (S091) from High Hopes Rubber Stamps! He sure does love his chocolate and so do I. LOL! I’m a choc-o-holic and so is my husband! I can give up many things, but not my chocolate. No way! LOL! And the sentiment Sweets for my Sooeet (G197) by High Hopes Rubber Stamps is the perfect fit for this card.

I decided to keep the card simple this week. I started off with a base of 5.5″ x 5.5″. I used double side tape and added the pretty heart ribbon to both the top and bottom of the card.

The die cuts for the main image are both from Craftin Desert Diva’s – Fancy Frames. I edged around the large die cut with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Aged Mahagony to deepen the red. It was then attached to the card using 2 sided tape.

The main image was stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and then coloured in with Copic Markers. I left the die cut metal frame on while I coloured the image. Once, the coloured image was done, I was ready to add some clouds. To do this, I stamped the image again onto some Post-It paper and then cut it out to create a masked image. I layered this on top of the pig and Valentine’s boxes and then created the clouds in the background using various blues from Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Ink and a stencil that I created using Avery Elle – D-05-01 PiercedCloudsDie.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiment onto white card stock. I die cut the frame for the sentiment with Craftin Desert Diva’s – Flag Banner Dies out of red cardstock. Then I used the same red cardstock, which I had just cut the banner out of to use as a stencil to trace around my sentiment.  I then used the trace marks as a guide to cut the sentiment out, moving just slightly inwards from my tracing to create the inner banner. This allowed me to have a nice red frame around the sentiment.

To finish the card I popped up the coloured image and sentiment with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape and added a couple of hearts.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Sow Soo-Eet Piggy (S091) (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment: Sweets for my Sooeet (G197) (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Nuts About You!

Welcome High Hopes Rubber Stamps Fans!

It’s Wednesday, and this week at High Hopes Rubber Stamps love is in the air! LOL! This week, I used this adorable little elephant called  Peeking Ellie With Heart – P127 for the main image and Nuts About You – F128 for the sentiment!

The card base is 5-1/2″ x 4-1/4 inches on white cardstock. I stamped the image using Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and then coloured in the image with Copic markers. Then I fussy cut around the image only leaving a thin slice of white in a few areas. Where I had trimmed the paper closest to the image, I outlined it with black marker.

Next, after running scrap pieces of paper through my Xyron Create a Sticker, I die cut the heart border using Sizzix Framelets by Stephanie Barnard – 562676 – Hearts Dotted. I also used the same die cut to cut out the big heart. Then I taped the metal die cut and the paper down onto a piece of cardboard so that I could colour the big heart and still leave a white border. Once the heart was coloured, I covered “about you” with some Scotch Tape and then stamped “I’m nuts”. I repeated the process only this time, I covered “I’m nuts” with the Scotch Tape and then stamped “about you” below it. Of course, I removed the tape each time before stamping.

I cut out the red contrasting paper and patterned paper with Your Next Stamp – Stitched Rectangle Die Set (YNSD214).

Now it was time to put it all together. I mounted the red rectangle directly onto the base. I mounted the patterned rectangle onto some white cardstock and used my cutter to create a thin white border all the way around it. Then, I popped up the rectangle, Ellie and the big heart with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

Lastly, to finish it off, I added the border sticker to the bottom of the first rectangle and hearts that I created earlier.

And They Lived Happily Ever After!

It’s Wednesday, and I am back to share a wedding card with you. Love is in the air and who doesn’t love weddings? LOL! This week, I used Just Married – S070 for my main image and Lived Happily Ever After – G012 for the sentiment.

I decided to create a scene of the couple driving down the road as they are beginning their new journey as newlyweds. No worries, except a long open road and green pastures ahead.

To create the card I first stamped the image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and then used My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out to die cut it out. Then I took a lead pencil and lightly drew in the lines for a road. I wanted the road to curve in order to imitate the couple going on a long journey. I coloured the image in with Copic markers. For the grass, I used various shades of green and then Copic Colourless blending solution and an old face cloth that had ridges on it. I added some of the blending solution to the cloth and lightly tapped it everywhere over the grass. I did this first as I didn’t want the solution to go over the main image.

After the image was all coloured in I mounted the image onto Recollections – Cranberry Cardstock and cut around it to make it square. Next I used 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to pop it up over the gold paper that I had die cut earlier using the same die cuts from My Creative Time.

The card is 6″ x 6″ AC White cardstock. I die cut K&C Company – Kelly Panacci – KP Valentine – 30-599345 with Heartfelt Creations – Fleur Border Basics – HCD1-7120 and the ran the die cuts through my Xyron Creative Station which enabled me to make stickers out of the die cuts. Then I mounted them on the card. I love the effect that they created. I also die cut some hearts using Sizzix Framelets by Stephanie Barnard – 562676 – Hearts Dotted using Recollections – Cranberry Cardstock. I ran the cardstock through the Xyron – Create A Sticker first to make it easier to just peel off the backs for the hearts and place them on the card.

I stamped the sentiment and mounted it on top of the gold paper and then popped it up on the card.

Stamp: Just Married – S070 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Owl Always Love You!!

Welcome High Hopes Rubber Stamps Fans!

It’s Wednesday, and this week I’m sharing a card that I made using 2 little love birds called Feathered Friends S261 for the main image and Owl Love You G239 for the sentiment.

This card can be used for either Valentine’s Day or for an Anniversary.

I decided to try something new this week and wanted to make the owl’s feathers look real. I believe that I was finally able to get the look that I was after. LOL!

After my main image was all coloured in, it was time to create the sky. Before doing this, I decided to die cut the image first using Lawn Fawn – Fancy Scalloped Rectangle Stackables. Next, I taped the main image down onto a piece of thin cardboard and then taped the die cut down on top of it.

This allowed me to use the inner part of the frame to colour and to leave the outer part of the frame white. I used a variety of Blue Copic markers to create the sky. I had also drawn in some heart shaped clouds with BG70 first, so that I would know where to stop with the other blues. Once my sky was all coloured in, I then used a Colorless Blender to soften the images around the cloud-shaped hearts and also to create some other small hearts as you can see in the finished card above.

To complete the card, I mounted everything onto Cyan and White cardstock and then mounted the image and sentiment on top using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. Lastly, I added in some small hearts which I had die cut using Sizzix Framelets by Stephanie Barnard – 562676 – Hearts Dotted die. I ran these little hearts through my Xyron to turn them into stickers and then placed them onto the card.

Our Friendship is Magic!

Welcome High Hopes Rubber Stamps Fans!

It’s Wednesday, and for my last High Hopes card for the year, I’m sharing a couple of good friends just relaxing and taking it easy! Sometimes it is nice to just chill out a bit! LOL! The stamp for the main image is called South Pole Pals R147 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps).

To make my card, I decided to keep it simple. I cut out the frame using Amy Design – Dies – Keep It Cool – Cool Square Frame and Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. Next, I stamped the image using my MISTI into the centre of the die cut. I coloured this in with the Copic markers listed below. For the outside of the die cut, I used Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Broken China and sponged on the ink using a dauber.

To create the background for the main image, I re-stamped the main image onto Inkadoo Stamping Mask Paper and fussy cut it out. Then I placed the mask over my coloured image. Next I used a mixture of Tim Holtz Distress Oxide inks, Faded Jeans, Wilted Violet and Festive Berries to create the sky. I have never tried this before, and just love the way it turned out.

For the snow, I stamped the bottom of the image with VersaMark ink and then added WOW! Embossing Glitter – White Puff Twinkle. I heated up the embossing powder with my heat gun and then added some Stickles – Diamond along the top of the snow.

Next I assembled the card onto 5.5″ x 5.5″ white AC Cardstock. I cut out a piece of 5.5″ x 5.5″ Hot Buy Craft Smart – Holiday Glitz Glitter Paper and mounted it with 2 sided tape onto the base. Then I added glue to the back of the frame and centre previously cut and coloured with Zig 2 Way Glue and mounted it onto top of the card.

Lastly, I added the sentiment Magic Friendship F234 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) and popped it up with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to finish up the card.

Card Recipe:

Stamp:  South Pole Pals R147 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Nordic Night Snowy Delight!

Welcome High Hopes Rubber Stamps Fans!

It’s Wednesday, and today I’m sharing a card that I made using the image Nordic Snowman with Bird (TLF010) (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) from our latest Christmas release. I just love the serenity of this image.  I grew up in Northern Canada and have always loved snow. It’s always so beautiful watching it come down from the sky. Not so much fun when you have to shovel it or drive through a snow storm, but other than that, it is quite beautiful! LOL! Did you grow up where there was a lot of snow too?

To make my card, I first stamped the image using Memento – Tuxedo Black ink onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. Then I ran the stamped image through my Cuttlebug and die cut it with Craftin Desert Diva’s Fancy Frames.

I decided to colour in the sky first with various blue Copic markers. After I coloured in the sky, I added in the falling snow using Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen.

I thought the sweater looked Scandinavian, so I decided to colour it similar to some Scandinavian  sweaters that I’ve seen in the past. I used Sakura Glaze – Black pen to pop up the eyes and smile on the snowman and lastly added some Stickles – Diamond for the pom-poms on the hat and along the top of the snow on the sweater. I also coloured over top of the black snowflakes with Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen and Gelly Roll Sakura #5 Pen on the sweater and hat.

For the snow at the bottom of the snowman, I used the same die-cut, Craftin Desert Diva’s Fancy Frames, to cut out the base using Recollections – Christmas Inkjet Printable Glitter Paper. I then ran this same paper through my Cuttlebug again, this time using the die cut from Lawn Fawn – Stitched Hillside Borders. Next I popped it up on the image using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

I die-cut some patterned paper using Your Next Stamp – Stitched Rectangle Die Set (YNSD214) that I had in my stash and then popped up the coloured snowman image onto it using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

For the sentiment I used Winter Delight (G114) (High Hopes Rubber Stamps). I stamped the sentiment and then die-cut it out using Craftin Desert Diva’s – Tag Essentials Dies. Then I went around the border of the die-cut with Gelly Roll Stardust – Clear pen and drew in some small snowflakes.

I then die-cut some snowflakes using Poppy – Simple Snowflakes (Style 1931) from Recollections – Christmas Inkjet Printable Glitter Paper. Once the snowflakes were all cut out, I ran them through my small Xyron to make them into stickers.

To assemble the card, I started with a base of 6″ x 6″ white AC cardstock. Next I mounted American Crafts – Wonderland Collection paper for my background. I chose this particular pattern as I thought it matched the image so well. I attached the mounted snowman directly to the background paper using 2-sided tape. I popped up my sentiment using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. Added my snowflakes and then finished off the card by adding in little gems in the centre of each snowflake and 1 on the sentiment.

Mudzie Goes Skating!

Welcome High Hopes Rubber Stamps Fans!

It’s Wednesday and this week I’m back to share a card that I made using Skating Mudzie – R064 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) with Frozen Skating Pond – S074 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for my background and then finished off with the sentiment Sparkle In Ice – H156 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps).

This card brought back memories of skating on the Ottawa Canal when I was younger whenever we went to visit our grandparents and my mom’s side of the family. We would skate for hours, enjoying Beaver Tails along the way (Beaver Tails are a fried dough pastry, stretched to look a beaver’s tail with added yummy toppings of your choice. They are sooooooo good! LOL!)

I grew up in Northern Ontario and we couldn’t wait to get home from school to lace up our skates and go across the street to the rink to skate. Like Starbuck’s, we had rink on practically every corner and the rinks were always full of children playing hockey or rink games. Our parents would have to fight with us to go inside. We would go in for supper and then be right back out on the ice again.

To make this card, I first coloured the ice with a mixture of blue Copic colours. Then I covered the whole area with Ranger Inkssentials – Glossy Accents and let it sit overnight to dry. The next day, I finished colouring in the trees, leaving the snow drifts white. I also coloured in the sky and then used various sizes of Gelly Roll Sakura Pens to create the snow.

Lastly, I completed the background snow using some BV20, C0 and Colorless Blender and then to add some sparkle, I spread glue randomly over the snowy areas and tree tops and added glitter.

I coloured in the moose and fussy cut around him and then popped him up as well as the background onto the card. I thought it would be fun to do his socks in the traditional “Roots” fashion. I also used the Gelly Roll pen to create some movement on the ice below the moose.

For the sentiment, I wanted it to have some sparkle like the snow. To do this, I inked the sentiment on white paper and then used some Sookwang double-sided tape to cover it. I peeled off the tape and then sprinkled Crystal Glitter Ritz – Warm Highlight – Transparent Ultra Fine Glitter and burnished it with my finger. (Rubbing it until it was smooth). I added some double-sided pop-up tape and added it to my card to finish it off.

Lastly, I added some green ribbon and some pop-dots for the last finishing touches.

Gingerbread Dreams!

It’s Wednesday, and this month at High Hopes Rubber Stamps we are celebrating Christmas. YAY!!!  This week, I used Gingerbread House (S159) (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) and Gingerbread Dreams (E061) (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment.

To make this card I stamped the Gingerbread House image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI – Most Incredible Stamping Tool in order to give me a nice crisp image. I coloured in the image with a little guidance from Kit and Clowder’s Gingerbread house video created by Alyce. For the snow and candies, you can’t see it in this photo, but I used Spectrum Noir – Crystal Clear Sparkles. Once I finished colouring in the image, I fussy cut around it. I also stamped out the sentiment and fussy cut around that as well.

Next I used the Gingerbread Chain punch from Creative Memories to cut out my little gingerbread men and then used Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen to create the icing and a dab of Copic Marker #29 for the cheeks.

For the assembly of the card, I used 6″ x 6″ AC Autumn Cardstock for the base. I had a piece of Hot Buy Craft Smart – Holiday Glitz Glitter Paper from a previous project that I had worked on and layered this on top of the Gingerbread men paper from Doodlebug Design Inc. – Milk and Cookies.

Lastly I used 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to pop up all of the images and sentiment. I added in the little red embellishments to represent the little gingerbreads dreaming of their wonderful gingerbread house. LOL!
