Sleeping Polar Bear!

Today I’m sharing a Christmas card that I made using Pink Gem DesignsSleeping Polar Bear and a mixture of sentiments from Lawn FawnPenguin Party and Lawn FawnWinter Skies which I thought went great with this super adorable image!

The image was printed out with my HP Printer onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using High Quality Grayscale and then die cut using a Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers. The image was coloured in with Copic markers and then a White Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen was applied to create the snow falling from the sky. Stickles – Frosted Lace was applied to the top of the snow, snow drifts, igloo and on the white parts of the hat. I just love the way it glistens!

The base card was created to the size of 4.25″ x 5.5″ out of Hammermill – Premium 110 lb. cardstock. Using some scrap Hammermill – Premium Cardstock 110 lb., I inked the paper using a finger dauber with Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Festive Berries that I still had on it. Then using a MISTI and VersaMark ink, I used Lawn FawnPenguin Party for the “Merry Christmas” sentiment and Lawn FawnWinter Skies for the “Hope your dreams come true” sentiment. Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail was applied to both sentiments and then the embossing powder was heated with a Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. Next, I used a cutter to cut close to the sentiment on the Recollections – Black cardstock and a Cuttlebug with Nellie’s Choice Multi Frame Die – Round Lily – MFD030 to cut the smaller sentiment. Gina Marie Designs – Nested Scalloped Stitched Rectangles were used to die cut the background border out of Crafter’s Companion Luxury Cardstock – Red Matte finish. Lastly, with a cutter, Stampin’ Up – Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper was cut to the same size as the base card and then edges were inked around using a finger dauber and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Blueprint Sketch.

The card was now read to assemble. U-Line Double-Sided Foam Tape was applied all of the die cuts and sentiments. They were then popped up and layered onto the card and image.

Mandala #5

Today, I’m sharing a Thank You card using KLM Digital DesignMandala #5 from the new February 2024 release.

Hammermill – Premium Cardstock 110 lb. was used to create a 5.5″ x 4.25″ card base. Crafter’s Companion Luxury Cardstock – Silver was cut to the size of 4.25″ x 4.25″ and applied directly to the base using double-sided tape. Using a Cuttlebug and PaperCrafter Today – 15 Die Cut Sentiment Set, I die cut “Thank You” out of the same cardstock. With My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out dies and Cuttlebug, I die cut a 4″ x 4″ square out of Craft Consortium – Ink Drops – Ocean Cardstock. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Blueprint Sketch was applied all around the outside edges. I also cut 2 small strips of 3/8″x 4.25″ out of the same cardstock. U-Line Double-Sided Foam Tape was applied to the smaller square and it was popped up onto the silver background. Liquid glue was applied to the 2 smaller stripes and sentiment and they were all applied directly to the base card.

The image was imported into Microsoft Word and printed out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in the image with Copic markers listed below and then I fussy cut around it leaving a thin white border. The Mandala was popped up onto the top part of the card using U-Line Double-Sided Foam Tape. Lastly, using liquid glue, I attached gems from Buttons Galore and More to complete the card.

Sweetest Wishes!!

Today, I’m sharing a Christmas card from the new KLM Designs October release called Christmas Bunny – Candy Cane.  This stamp set also comes with 2 other sentiments, “Wishing you a December full of candy cane wishes and mistletoe kisses” and “All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth”.

To make the card, I first imported the image and sentiment into Microsoft Word and printed everything out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. Using my Cuttlebug and Creative Expressions – Festive Collection Peeking Snowflake dies, I die cut around the image and at the same time, die cut a larger oval out of Recollections – Silver Foil Cardstock from the same die set. The image was coloured in with Copic markers. Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen was used to create the snow in the sky and also to add some highlights to the eyes. For the snow surrounding the bunny on the ground, Cosmic Shimmer Fluffy Stuff was applied and then I added in some glitter while it was still wet. Then snow was heated from the bottom of the image and then on top using a Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool to puff it up. Stickles – Diamond was then applied to add in some more glitter. Stickles – Diamond was also applied to the hat brim and pompom.

The sentiment frame was die cut with my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Stitched Zig Zag Ties. The sentiment was cut to the size of 2.5″ x 7/8″ and then using a We R Memory Keepers – Crop-A-Dile Corner Chomper, I used the 1/8″ corner. With a B000 Copic marker, I applied it over the entire sentiment piece to give it a hint of colour. The image and the sentiment were attached to the Silver die cuts using U-Line Double-Sided foam tape. Creative Expressions – Festive Collection – Pearly Snowflake Border was used to die cut the snowflakes out of Lawn Fawn – Sparkle Cardstock in “Pixie Dust”.

The card was now ready to assemble. I cut the base card from Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock to the size of 9″ x 8″ and then scored it at 4″ and folded it in half. Reminisce Snowflake Ridge – Snow Day paper was cut to 9″ x 4″ and applied to the base card using double-sided tape. Liquid glue was applied to the back of the snowflake border and it was attached to the top of the card. Double-sided tape was added to the silver oval and sentiment border and they were both applied directly to the base of the card. Lastly, I added in some sparkle dots from Your Next Stamp and inked around the entire card with a finger dauber and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Blueprint Sketch.

Todd’s 60th Birthday!

Today I’m sharing a Birthday card that I made for my husband’s 60th Birthday using the image and sentiments from Art ImpressionsDance It Out – 5278 and image from Cake Popper Set (4475) (Retired). He hated the thought of turning sixty and being a few years older than him, I couldn’t resist doing a funny card for his birthday.

To create the card, I began with the card base of 5.5″ x 4.25″ using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock.  I cut Your Next Stamp Designer Pad – Birthday Boy paper to the size of 5.5″ x 1.75″ and 5.5″ x 2.5″ and adhered it to the base using double-sided tape. Lastly, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Blueprint Sketch was applied around the edges of the card using a finger dauber.

With Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI, I stamped all of the images onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in all of the images and then fussy cut around them. For the image on the front of the card. I popped it up onto black cardstock using U-Line Double-Sided foam tape and then fussy cut around it again.

For the front of the card, with my Cuttlebug and Sizzix Thinlets – Balloon Occasions, I die cut the “Happy” and “birthday” twice. I ran the blue “Happy” through my Xyron Create a Sticker and attached it directly to the card. The Yellow and Blue inlays were added from the die cut pieces using liquid glue. Liquid glue was also appplied to the 2 “Birthday” die cuts and attached to the card. U-Line Double-Sided foam tape was applied to the back of the man image and popped up onto the card. I stamped the sentiment using Versafine – Majestic Blue with my MISTI. Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder was applied and then heat embossed with Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. Poppystamps – Christmas Quotes dies were used to die cut the sentiment. Using a blending brush with some yellow ink still on it, I applied it and then added some U-Line Double-Sided foam tape to pop it up on the card.

For the inside of the card, the image was applied using liquid glue. The sentiments were stamped using Versafine – Onyx Black ink with my MISTI. Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder was applied and then heat embossed with Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. Lastly, I thought it would be fun to add in his age onto the balloons. Using Die-Namics – Frosted Alphabet, and my Cuttlebug, I die cutted the numbers and frosting out of Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The numbers were coloured in with the same colours as the cake and then Stickles – Diamond was added to the icing. Once the stickles was dry I applied the 2 pieces together with liquid glue and attached them to the balloons.

My husband loved his card and I hope you do too!

Father’s Day Fisherman!

Today, I’m sharing a Father’s Day card using HunkydoryMoonstone – What A Catch Card – MSTONE537 die that I made for our dads. Both of our dads love to fish and I thought this was the perfect die set when I saw it. Wishing everyone’s dad a very Happy Father’s Day today and everyday!

To create the card, I began with a card base of 6″ x 6″ using AC Cardstock – White. For the main background I attached Stampin’ UP! – Whale of a Time Designer Series Paper cut to the same size as the base with double-sided tape. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Blueprint Sketch and a finger dauber were used to ink around all of the edges. Using a combination of my Cuttlebug, My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out – 4.5″ x 4.5″ and Moonstone – What A Catch Card die, I die cut the image out of Recollections – Black cardstock.

Forever In Time – Glam Glitter Cardstock – Ombre Pastel was cut to be just slightly smaller than 4.5″ x 4.5″ and then U-Line double-sided pop-up tape was added to the back of the die-cut image. I removed the tape and then attached the Glitter cardstock on top. This allowed me to line up the 2 pieces easier. For the sentiment, I decided to use my Cricut Explore and Cricut Design Space to create the text and shadow, using some spare blue cardstock and Recollections – Black cardstock. Once the sentiment and shadow were die-cut, I ran the lettering through my Xyron Create a Sticker and attached the 2 pieces together.

U-Line double sided tape was attached to the back of the combined image and it was popped up onto the card. Scrapbook Adhesives – 3D Foam Strips – Permanent Black was added to the back of the sentiment pieces and they were popped up onto the card to finish it off.

Card Recipe:

Sunflower Puppy

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Design –  Sunflower Fido from the new July 2022 release. This image comes with 2 other sentiments as well, “Always look on the bright side!” and “Like Wildflowers, You must allow yourself to grow in all the places people thought you never would.” I’ve always been mesmerized by the beauty of sunflowers and how tall they grow. Of course, eating sunflower seeds is also a lot of fun too!

I created a 6″ x 6″ card base using AC White Cardstock cardstock. Stampin’ Up – Flowers For Every Season Designer Paper was applied to the base using double-sided tape. Using my Cuttlebug and Gina Marie Designs – Ric Rac Nested Circle Dies, I die-cut Stampin’ Up – Simply Marbleous Designer Paper. With Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Blueprint Sketch and a small sponge dauber, I inked around all of the edges of the card base and the die cut.

I imported the image and sentiment into Microsoft Word and printed them out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. The image was coloured in with Copic markers. After, I finished colouring the image, I fussy cut all around it and used a black marker to go around all of the edges. I used my cutter to cut around the sentiment and then ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker and then placed it onto Forever In Time – Sky cardstock. I cut the paper again leaving a slim border around the sentiment. I applied U-Line double-sided tape to the back of the image and popped it up onto the ric rac die cut.  U-Line double-sided tape was applied to the back of the die cut and sentiment piece and both were popped up onto the card. Finally, YNS Gumdrops – Circus Fun Matte Gumdrops were added to complete the card.

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a birthday card using High Hopes Rubber Stamps Cupcake Hedgie – TDG035 for the image and Eat Cake – FDG026 for the sentiment. I think the expression on this little hedgie says it all! Birthdays should always be an excuse to eat some cake! LOL!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base of Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock, cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. I adhered Scrapbook.com – Brights Smooth Cardstock which was the same size as the base to the card using double-sided tape. Using my Anna Griffin Empress Mini Machine die cutting machine, I die cut the cake background paper with Your Next Stamp Designer Pad – Birthday Boy and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Blueprint Sketch was then inked around all of the edges. I add some U-Line double-sided tape and popped it up onto the base card. Again, using my Empress die cutter, I die cut some golden yellow cardstock using My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out. I added some U-Line double sided tape and added it to the patterned background. Waffle Flower – Nesting Square dies were used to die cut the smaller square out of Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and My Creative Time – Bunch of Fun Circle Die was used to die cut the circle from some Red cardstock.

The image and sentiment were stamped onto the Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in the image with Copic Markers. I added Stickles – Star Dust to the cupcake to make the layers sparkle. A 1.5″ Circle punch was used to cut out the sentiment. U-Line double sided tape was added to the backs of the image and sentiment. I popped up the image onto the smaller square and the sentiment onto the red circle. I added another layer of U-Line double sided tape to the right side of the red circle and a little bit of glue to the left side and popped it up over top of the main image. To finish off the card, I added on some YNS Gumdrops – Firefly Magic Sparkly Gumdrops and YNS Gumdrops – Sugar Rush Sparkly Gumdrops.

Think Snow!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Snowman Stumble – TT014 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Think Snow 2 – FF047 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. I grew up skating at the outdoor rink directly across the street from my house. We couldn’t wait to get home from school and throw on our skates. The rinks were always full of children from the neighbourhood. We would either play rink games or hockey. I think there was a rink every couple of blocks. As soon as we’d finish eating, we were back on the ice again. Our parents were always yelling at us to come inside at the end of the day. How times have changed. LOL!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base made from Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. My Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies were used to die cut Hot Buy Craft Smart – Holiday Glitz Glitter Paper to be the same size as the base card. With a Picket Fence – Blending Brush and a mixture of Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Blueprint Sketch and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean, I created the background sky. I applied this directly to the glitter background paper. Once this was done, I applied this directly to the base using double-sided tape. Next, Nellie’s Choice – Nature Scene Dies – NSD001 – Mountains were used to die cut the tree scenery using Momenta – Cardstock and using a small dauber I added in some darker touches of green using Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Peeled Paint. The pond was die cut using Whimsy Stamps – Wavy Nested Frame Dies Set and Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I inked the image and sentiment using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black. Lastly, I die cut the sentiment using Joy Crafts – Labels and Tags and inked around the edges with my Picket Fence – Blending Brush and the ink that was still on it from doing the sky.

I coloured in the image with Copic markers and added in some highlights on the skate blades with Pental Sunburst Metalic Med Gel Pen. I inked the image a second time onto the Hot Buy Craft Smart – Holiday Glitz Glitter Paper for the snowman body and fussy cut around it. Once it was coloured in with Copics, I ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker and attached it to the base stamped image.

The card was now ready to assemble. Part of the pond was cut off at the top before it was attached it to the sparkly background using glue and double-sided tape. Next, I added some 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the back of the trees and applied it over top of where the sky ended and the pond met. To create the snow around the pond and in between the trees, pond and snow, I used Cosmic Shimmer Fluffy Stuff and added some DecoArt Glamour Dust while it was still wet. Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat the liquid and make it puff up to look like fluffy snow. I added some Stickles – Diamond to the pompom. Using a Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen and Sharpie Water Based Paint – White – Extra Fine Point pen, I created the snow in the sky. Lastly, to finish off the card, I added 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the sentiment and applied it to the card.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Snowman Stumble – TT014 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment: Think Snow 2 – FF047 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Good Times!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Joy Ride – TT002 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Good Times – GLL006 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Christmas is always a wonderful time to gather with family and friends. Thinking of snow right now is also a way to cool down with all of this summer heat too! LOL!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base made from AC White Cardstock cut and scored to be 6″ x 6″. I chose Echo Park Paper Co. – My Favorite Winter (6″ x 6″) for my background paper and trimmed just a little off of the sides. Then, I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Blueprint Sketch and inked around all of the edges. I added some glue to the back of the paper and applied it to the base card. Using My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out, I die cut a larger square from Recollections – Burgundy cardstock and a smaller square from Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I inked around the edges of the larger square with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Aged Mahagony and applied 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the back of it and applied to the background. I die cut the sentiment label with My Creative Time – Stitched Rectangular Frames Dies and More. The image and sentiment were then applied using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I applied Stickles – Unicorn around the edges of the label and set it aside to dry.

I coloured in the image with copic markers. Then I added Stickles – Eucalyptus to the lady’s cuff and collar and Stickles – Crystal to her hat and pompom. For the man, I applied Nuvo Glitter Accents – Fresh Snowfall to his hat and pompom. Lastly, I added some Brutus Monroe – Snow Paste using a spatula to the bottom outer edge of the image to represent a snow bank on the side of the road. Using a Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen, Gelly Roll Sakura #5 Pen, Glitter Glue Pen and DecoArt Glamour Dust, I created the snowy background. Gelly Roll Sparkle Pen was used to colour in the Holly on the wreath.

Once everything on the image was dry, I applied some glue to the back of it and applied it directly on top of the larger square. I applied some glue and some 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the sentiment and applied that on an angle at the top of the card. I only put the tape in a few spots so that it would be the same height as the image. To finish off the card, I added some CC Designs – Dragon Dreams Enamel Dots on to the sentiment and some sequence.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Joy Ride – TT002 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Surfing Gabriel!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a masculine card using Surfing Gabriel – TT516 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and No Waves – FR011 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Gabriel is enjoying the waves and the bright skies. I can’t wait for the weather to warm up here so that I can start swimming again too!

To make my card this week, I die cut a square from Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out. A larger square was cut using Waffle Flower – Nesting Square dies and spare blue cardstock. The image and sentiment were both stamped using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured in the image with Copic markers. Then, I created a mask and put it over top of the coloured image and added in my clouds using various Tim Holtz inks listed below and Avery Elle – Pierced Clouds Die (Used to create stencils). To create the spray on the waves, I mixed a little bit of FolkArt – Extreme Glitter Acrylic Paint and Delta Ceramcoat – White paint and applied it to the coloured image using a 1/4″ H.J. Domed Dry Stipple brush. For a little extra sparkle, I added some DecoArt Glamour Dust while the paint was still wet.

Brother Scan and Cut was used to die-cut around the sentiment. Edges were inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Blueprint Sketch. A second circle was die cut using Lifestyle Crafts Cutting Dies – Nesting Circles out of aqua cardstock and inked with Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Peacock Feathers.

To assemble the card, I used Recollections – Winter 4.25″ x 5.5 for the base. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean was used to ink around the edges of the card. The coloured image was glued to the larger square and the sentiment was glued to the larger circle. 3M VHB – 2 sided tape was attached to the backs of the larger circle and square and attached to the base card. To finish it off, YNS Gumdrops were added.

Polar Bear and Friend!!

Sharing this adorable image called Polar Bear and Friend from KLM Digital Designs today from the January release. This set comes with 3 sentiments, “You are Amazing”, “You’re My Sunshine on a Rainy Day” and “Best Friends Forever”, which I used on my card.

To make the card, I printed out the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my HP Printer. I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around the image and coloured it in with Copic markers. The sentiment was brought into Microsoft Word.  I imported the shape within Microsoft Word and used a weight of 3 for the solid line. Then, I brought the sentiment to the front and centred it in the middle of the shape. I printed this out on Recollections White cardstock and then just fussy cut around it.

I used AC White paper to create the base shape of the card 12″ x 6″. I scored the paper at 6″. I used Recollections – Blue Ombre Cardstock for the main background, cut to the same size as the base card. This was attached using double-sided tape.

Essentials by Tattered Lace Dies – Easel Slider dies and my Cuttlebug were used to die cut Hot Buy Craft Smart – Holiday Glitz Glitter Paper, Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. and Stampin’ Up – Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper. Penny Black – Winter Roof die was used to die cut the icicles. The snow drifts on the bottom of the card were die cut using dies from Lawn Fawn – Stitched Hillside Borders. Once the icicles and snow drifts were die cut, I used the Tattered Lace die cut again so that everything would layer to the shape of the smaller rectangle. I used my Cuttlebug and Cuttlebug – Snow Dots stencil twice to create the texture to the larger rectangle. Gina K Designs – Glitz Glitter Gel was added to the icicles and front layer of snow. Stickles – Diamond was used to add texture to the back snow drift. Once everything was dry, I inked around all of the outside edges of the snow, rectangular shapes and main background with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Blueprint Sketch.

To assemble the card, I used double-sided tape to attach the large rectangle shape directly to the base card. The smaller rectangle shape was assembled separately, then attached to the larger rectangular shape using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. Tombo glue was used to add the icicles and layers of snow to the smaller rectangluar shape. The image and sentiment were popped up using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. To complete the card, Stickles – Diamond was added below the bear to create a shadow and also some streaks along the snow.

Happiness

Hi Everyone! It’s the new year and it’s never too early to start making your Christmas cards. Today, I’m featuring a Christmas card from Dreamerland Crafts new Christmas release called Happiness Is Time Spent With A Good Friend – D20009.

To create this card, I first stamped my images using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink.  The images were coloured in with Copic markers. Then I fussy cut around them and went around the edges with a black marker and set them aside.

Next, I worked on the background. I cut Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. to the size of 4.25″ x 5.5″. I created the sky using the Tim Holtz inks listed below and then added in some snow using Stamperi – Glamour Paste – Sparkling White and sprinkling on some Martha Stewart Crafts – Crystal Fine Glitter while it was still wet. I then set this aside to dry. Once the paste was dry, I stamped the sentiment using VersaMark ink. The sentiment was embossed with Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail and Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat set the embossing powder.

The bench was die cut using Joy Crafts – Floral Flourishes – 6002/0191, my Cutttlebug and Tim Holtz – Idea-ology – Christmas paper. Shadows were added in using T5 Copic Marker. I created a base card using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. to the size of 4.25″ x 5.5″. I added double-sided tape to the coloured background and adhered it directly to the base. Using double-sided tape, I added the bench to the background. I popped up the images on the bench using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. The snow and stars were added in using a combination of Gelly Roll Sakura #8 Pen and Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen. Sequins was added from some mixed sparkles I had.

To finish off the card, I added in some Cosmic Shimmer – Fluffy Puff around the bottom of each of the legs of the bench and also onto the trim of the girl’s cape, kitten’s cape and pompom. Lastly, I added some Stickles – Diamond onto the snow and the girl’s cape for added texture.

Grad Nurse!!

My niece graduated last year to become a Registered Nurse. We are so proud of her. She has joined several of my cousins in this profession who are also Nurses and Nurse Practitioners. I made her this card to congratulate her using Cute Nurses from The Paper Shelter and Proud Nurse Set – 4899 (Art Impressions)

I stamped the image of the nurse on the right and inside of the card onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my MISTI and Memento Tuxedo Black Ink. For the nurse on the left, I printed the image out on my printer using High Quality Grayscale.  I coloured in the images with Copic markers and then fussy cut around them. I wanted the images on the front of the card to pop, so I ran them through my Xyron Creative Station and attached them to black cardstock. Then I fussy cut around them again. I stamped the sentiment on the inside of the card using Versa Fine – Onyx Black. This was embossed using Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder and my Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. The sentiment on the front was printed on my printer, using digital stamp from Graduation Gnome With Diploma (KLM Digital Designs). Then it was die cut using Die-Namics MFT-489 PCD Fishtail Figs STX.

For the inside of the card, I couldn’t resist using this fun image from Proud Nurse Set – 4899 (Art Impressions), because I know especially today, nurses are working really long hours. My niece said the sentiment and was so true when she received her card. LOL! We have to give all of the front-line workers credit for all of the hard work they are doing during these Covid times.

I used Hammermill paper to create the base shape of the card 5.5″ x 4.25″. I cut the background paper from Polkadoodles – Winnie Celebrations 1 – Top Banana Kit to the same size and inked around the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Peacock Feathers. For the sentiment on the front, I inked around the edges using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Blueprint Sketch. I popped up images and sentiment with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. On the inside of the card, I ran the coloured image through my Xyron Creative Station and attached it.

Sending You Tidings

Today, I’m featuring a Christmas card by Dreamerland Crafts using their stamp set called Sending You Tidings – D19072. Growing up in the North, we used to get a lot of snow. I always love looking out the window and seeing the snow fall and how beautiful it looks on the houses and trees. Driving in it, not so much, but everything else about winter, I love. LOL!

To make this card, I cut some Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card to the size of 4.75″ x 3.5″ using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers Dies. Then using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black, I stamped the image first onto the paper and then again on to Post-It Note to create a mask. I fussy cut around the mask and placed it to the side to use a little later. I then proceeded to colour in my image with Copic markers.

Once the colouring of the image was complete, I was ready to create the sky. To accomplish this, the mask that I had set aside earlier was placed over top of the coloured image. A mixture of Tim Holtz Distress Inks were then used: Black Soot, Chipped Sapphire, Blueprint Sketch and Dusty Concord inks. Once, the background was completed, I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set using my MISTI and VersaMark ink. The sentiment was then embossed with Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail and Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat set the embossing powder.

I was now ready to add the final finishing touches. To do this, I added in the snowflakes and stars using Gelly Roll Sakura #10, #8 and #5 Pens. Stickles – Cool Mint was added to the little lady’s hat, pom-pom and coat cuffs. Gina K Designs – Glitz Glitter Gel was applied with a spatula along the bottom of the card to create some sparkling snow and also to the top of the chimney with a Q-Tip. I also coloured in the little snowflake in the sky with Gelly Roll Sakura #10 pen and then Gelly Roll Stardust – Clear to make it sparkle. I set the card aside to let the glitter dry for a few hours.

For the card base I used Recollections – Winter 4.25″ x 5.5 and edged around all of the sides with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Iced Spruce. I die cut Hot Buy Craft Smart – Holiday Glitz Glitter Paper to the size 3.75″ x 5″ using My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies and Cuttlebug. This was adhered directly onto the base using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape. Once the glitter was completely dry, I layered the completed image on top of the second layer using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

Santa in the Chimney!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week I’m sharing a Christmas card featuring Santa in Chimney – S202 from (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) paired with the sentiment Bold – From One Flake – K201 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps). December is almost here and Santa is on his way to deliver all of the goodies to everyone. Hope your not on the naughty list. LOL!

To create the card this week, I stamped the main image and then coloured it in with Copic Markers. I stamped the image again and used it as a mask. I have a magnetic cutting mat, so I just used a very strong magnet to hold the mask down. Then I used multiple Tim Holtz Distress Inks to create the sky.

Once the sky was created, I removed the mask and used My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame to die cut the image. I added the sentiment using the top half of the sentiment stamp only. To do this, using my MISTI to get a good clean stamped image, I used VersaMark Ink and then embossed it with Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail. This was then heated using Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool.

To finish off my background, I added in some snowflakes and stars using Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen and Gelly Roll Sakura #5 Pen. For the eyes and notches on the belt, Sakura Glaze – Black ink was used. For the snow on the roof top, Gina K Designs – Glitz Glitter Gel was applied with a little sprinkle of Martha Stewart Crafts – Crystal Fine Glitter. Stickles was added to the hat, collar and cuffs of Santa’s outfit.

To create the layers, I first die cut Hot Buy Craft Smart – Holiday Glitz Glitter Paper with My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers and then the dark blue panel with My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame dies. For the card, I used Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. paper, which was cut at 8.5″ x 5.5″ and then scored at 4.25″ and to create a base card of 4.25″ x 5.5″.

To assemble the remainder of the card. I placed the dark blue layer directly to the base using double-sided tape. The silver layer was applied the same way. The coloured image was then popped up using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

Wishing You The Best

Today, I’m featuring a Christmas card by Dreamerland Crafts using their stamp set called Wishing You and Your Family – D19069. I decided to make the scene a snowy night, because when we were little, we used to go at dusk to pick up out our new tree. It was always so much fun!

To make this card, I cut some Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card to the size of 5.5″ x 4.25″. Then using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black, I stamped the image first onto the paper and then again on to Post-It Note to create a mask. I fussy cut around the mask and placed it over top of the main image. To create my background I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot, Chipped Sapphire, Blueprint Sketch and Dusty Concord inks. Once they were all blended and I was satisfied with the look, I spritzed some water on top and then placed some paper towel over top to pick up some of the droplets.

I removed the mask and proceeded to colour in the main image with Copic markers. I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set using my MISTI and VersaMark ink. The sentiment was then embossed with Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail and Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat set the embossing powder.

I was now ready to add the final finishing touches. To do this, I added in the snowflakes and stars using Gelly Roll Sakura #8 Pen and Stickles – Cool Mint to the little lady’s hat and scarf. Gina K Designs – Glitz Glitter Gel was applied with a spatula along the bottom of the card to create some sparkling snow. I set the card aside to let the glitter dry for a few hours.

Once everything was dry, I attached it to a white base card of 5.5″ x 4.25″ using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. paper with double-sided tape.

Three Kings Bringing Joy

It’s Wednesday, and this week I’m sharing a Christmas card featuring the adorable image Three Kings – T201 from (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) with the sentiment Joy To The World – GLL012 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps).  Have you started your Christmas cards yet?

To create the card this week, I stamped the main image and then coloured it in with Copic Markers. I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around the image and then used a black marker to go around all of the edges. For the sentiment, I stamped it out and then used My Creative Time: Fun Vertical Greetings to die cut it.

For the base card I used Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. to create my background at 5.5″ x 4.25″ and also the base card.  I used various Tim Holtz inks listed below to create the night sky and earth at the bottom. After the basic blending was done, I layered Kraftin’ Kimmie – Twinkle Little Stars stencil over top of the base and applied Stampin Up – Whisper White using a sponge dauber. I removed the stencil and cleaned it off. Then placed it on top again. This time, I used a sponge dauber and FolkArt – Extreme Glitter Acrylic Paint to give the stars some sparkle. Note: A little dab of this paint goes a long way. Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to help speed up the drying process.

Once the paint was all dry, the card was ready to be assembled. I cropped the background to 5.25″ x 4″ and placed it directly onto the base. Then the main image and sentiment were added using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

Birthday Message For You!

Welcome Back Dreamerland Craft Fans!

Today, I’m sharing a birthday card that I made using a combination of Dreamerland Crafts stamps.  A Special Message For You – D16001 was used for the boy image and sentiment, Mailbox & Wall – Mix & Match Collection – M18301 and  Window & Gate – Mix & Match Collection – M18302 were used to create the background. I just love how these stamps came together to help me to create this scene.

To make this card I used a base card of 6″ x 6″. I die cut X-Press It Blending Card using my Cuttlebug and dies from Creative Expression Craft Dies by Sue Wilson – Noble Dies – Double Pierced Squares – Set B. I used the square die that was about 5.75″ x 5.75″.

Next, I created a mask of each of the stamps I was going to use to create the scene. The boy was stamped first and then I placed the mask over top of him. Next was the gate, then the brick wall and the foliage.  I added the masks after stamping each piece. Lastly, I stamped the 2 windows. All masking was removed at this point.

To create the main building brick wall, I used Kraftin’ Kimmie Stencil – Brick Wall. Using my magentic mat, small magnets were used to hold the stencil down over the image. Then Copic markers were used to create the texture of the brick. Once all of the brick was done, C4 and C2 were used to fill in the spaces in between. I drew in the sidewalk using a combination of C0 – C5 markers.

After all of the main colouring was done, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Blueprint Sketch was used to stamp the sentiment. Then, because I was using my MISTI, it was easy to then re-ink the sentiment with Versamark ink and then emboss it with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder. Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat up the embossing powder.

Speedy Recovery!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I used Walker Walter – TLF013 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) from the new release for the main image and Speedy Recovery Background – U004 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. I have an older friend in the hospital right now waiting to have an operation and I thought this little card would definitely cheer him up.

To make my card this week, I used Recollections – Cape Cod cardstock for the base card which is 4.25″ x 5.5″. I stamped both the large background image and Walter using my Misti and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink.

Then I ran the background image through my Cuttlebug using Your Next Stamp – Stitched Rectangle Die Set to die cut it.

Both images were coloured using Copic Markers. I edged around the background image and card base with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Blueprint Sketch. I used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut around “Walker Walter” and then outlined the image with Copic Markers C3 and C1. Next, I ran the image through my Xyron Creative Station and adhered it to some Black cardstock. I again used the Scan and Cut to cut around the image. I thought the border was too large, so I just manually fussy cut around the image leaving a smaller black border around it.

To complete the card, I bumped up both the background and the main image with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.
