Woodland Gnome!!

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Designs – Woodland Gnome Girl from the new August release. This little gnome is keeping calm even with little bees flying around. I know if it was me, I’d be running for cover. LOL!

This image also comes with 2 other sentiments, “You gno-me too well” and “Just because”.

To make the card, I first imported the image and sentiment into Microsoft Word and printed them out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. Using by Brother Scan and Cut, I cut around the image leaving a small white border. The image was coloured in with Copic markers. For the base card, I used Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. and cut it to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. PhotoPlay – Gnome for the Holidays Thanksgiving paper was cut to the same size as the base and attached using double-sided tape. Lawn Fawn – Watercolor Wishes Rainbow paper was cut to the size of 5.5″ x 2.5″ and glued onto the sunflower paper in the centre. The image was popped up and placed onto the centre of the yellow background paper. Using my Cuttlebug, die cut from Lawn Fawn – Simple Grassy Hillsides and Lawn Fawn – Watercolor Wishes Rainbow paper, I cut the grass. I fussy cut around the printed sentiment and used Copic YGO1 to fill in the background and to go around the fussy cut. I ran this piece through my Xyron Create a Sticker because I wanted the sentiment to lay nice and flat on the grass background. The grass was then centred and popped up on the card. All of the background layers were inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Rustic Wilderness before placing them onto the card. Lastly, to complete the card I added in a few bees from Sprinkletz Embellishments – Bubble Bees.

Free Broom Rides!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Free Broom Rides – TT017 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Wicked – FF052 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Wouldn’t you love to go on a magical broom for a ride? I know I would.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base made from Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 5.5″. I cut the background paper from Echo Park – I Love Halloween paper pad to be the same size as the base and inked around the edges and onto the paper using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Carved Pumpkin and a Picket Fence – Blending Brush. I applied this directly to the base card using double-sided tape. Using my Cuttlebug and Essentials by Tattered Lace Dies – Easel Slider dies, I die cut Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and orange cardstock. Using black cardstock I cut another piece to the size of 5.5″ x 1.25″. I applied this to the base using double-sided tape. I inked around the orange die cut with a Picket Fence – Blending Brush and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot. I applied 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the back of the orange die cut and applied it to the base.

The image and sentiment were then stamped using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured in the image with Copic markers. The sentiment was die cut with my Cuttlebug and Whimsy – Quick Strips Die Set dies. I inked around the edges and on top by first using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Carved Pumpkin with a Picket Fence – Blending Brush and then around the edges again, this time using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Black Soot. To finish off the card, I applied 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the back of the image and sentiment and popped them both up.

Thank-you!!

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Designs – Thank You Gnome from the new August release. I decided since Autumn and our Canadian Thanksgiving is almost upon us and some of the leaves have begun to change, that I would colour in the letters in the Fall colours.

To make the card, I first imported the image into Microsoft Word and printed it out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I die cut the image to the size of 7.25″ x 3.5″ using my Couture Creations – Go Power and Emboss and My Creative Time – Tall Frame Layers.  For the base card, I cut Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. to the size of 7.25″ x 7″ and scored it at 3.5″. After colouring the image, I applied it to the base using double-sided tape.

Sorry You’re Hurting!!

Sharing a card I made using Clearly Whimsy Stamps – Get Well Dragons – DP1034 for a colleague that had a knee operation recently. I wanted to make a fun card to cheer him up a bit and thought this was the perfect image to make it happen.

To make the card, I stamped the image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using Memento – Tuxedo Black ink and my MISTI. I coloured in the image using Copic markers and then fussy cut around it leaving a thin white border. I stamped all of the sentiments onto black cardstock using Versamark ink and Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail powder. The embossing powders were all heated with Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. The smaller sentiments were all die cut using my Cuttlebug and Hero Arts – Infinity Die Ovals. For the background, I used my Cuttlebug and Sizzix Rounded Tags dies to die cut the background paper – Asuka Studio – Sparkly Sky and black cardstock. I die cut the grass using Lawn Fawn – Stitched Hillside Borders and Sizzix Rounded Tags. I inked the top border of the grass with Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Peeled Paint.

The card was now ready to assemble. I started with a base card of 5.5″ x 4.5″ using Hammermill – Premium Colour cardstock. I applied double-sided tape to the back of the black die cut, The patterned paper and the grass cut and applied them all directly to the card. I ran 2 of the “Ouch!” die cuts through my Xyron Create a Sticker and attached them to the top of the card.  Using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape, I popped up the image and 2 other sentiments to finish off the card.

Card Recipe:

Stamp and Sentiments: Get Well Dragons – DP1034 – Clearly Whimsy Stamps

Frightfully Delightful!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Frankie – TT021 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Frightfully Delightful – FF054 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Frankie is all set for Hallowe’en this year with his little pumpkin full of candy. We used to use a pillow case when we were younger to get a lot more goodies when we went Trick or Treating. LOL!

To make my card this week, I began with stamping the image and sentiment onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. Using my Brother Scan and Cut, I cut around the image leaving a small white border. I coloured in the image and then used Copic C0 to go around all of the edges. I fussy cut around the sentiment and applied Copic Y17 around the edges. I put this through my Xyron Create a Sticker and then applied it to some scrap yellow cardstock. Once again, I fussy cut around the sentiment.

Using my Cricut Explore, I die cut the Haunted House from the Holiday Cakes Cricut Cartridge and the Haunted Tree from the October 31 Cricut Cartridge. I decided to cut the second layer of the haunted house out of Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card rather than solid cardstock. This gave me the chance to colour in the windows, doors, shutters and moon the way I wanted to in order to make it more spooky with Copic Markers. The moon was coloured in with a mixture of Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Hickory Smoke, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Fossilized Amber and Picket Fence Studio Blender Brushes. Using glue, I pieced everything together for the Haunted house.

My card was now ready to assemble. I started with a 6″ x 6″ base card made from AC Cardstock – White. I cut the bats background to the same size from Echo Park – I Love Halloween paper pack. I applied this directly to the base with double-sided tape. Using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Hickory Smoke and a Picket Fence Studio Blender Brush I inked around all of the edges and across the top of the card to darken the sky a little bit. Next, I die cut the grass using my Cuttlebug, Lawn Fawn – Watercolor Wishes Rainbow paper and Lawn Fawn – Simple Stitched Hillside Borders. I applied this directly to the bottom of the card using liquid glue. I applied glue to the haunted tree and haunted house and then applied both of them directly to background. Frankie and the sentiment were both popped up on the card using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Frankie – TT021 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment: Frightfully Delightful – FF054 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Inks: Memento – Tuxedo Black, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Hickory Smoke, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Fossilized Amber

To make the card, I first imported the image and sentiment into Microsoft Word and printed it out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I die cut the image and frame using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers dies. I applied painters tape around all of the edges to keep the slim white border around the image. Pumpkin Buddies!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Pumpkin Buddies – TT020 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Happy Halloween Script – F232 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. These little Hallowe’en friends look like they’re getting ready to scare unsuspecting little ones this year. LOL!

To make my card this week, I began with die-cutting Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card with My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers for the main image and Whimsy Stamps – Quick Strips Die Set for the sentiment. The image and sentiment were then stamped using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink onto the die cuts. The image and grass were coloured in with Copic markers. The nose and eyes for the characters were coloured in using Sakura Glaze – Black Pen and Gelly Roll Sakura #8 Pen. I stamped out the image a second time and used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut it out so that I could use it as a mask to put over the coloured image. I also die cut a 1.5″ circle out of Inkadoo Stamping Mask Paper for the moon.

I placed the mask over top of the coloured image and the moon masked circle onto the large rectangle before I inked in the sky using various Tim Holtz inks listed below. I watched a video on YouTube by Glitter Grunge Greetings for inspiration on how to create my night sky. Once the sky was complete, I removed the mask for the moon and used the outside paper that I had cut the moon from to protect the sky while I inked in the texture for it using Picket Fence Studio Blender Brushes, Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Oxide – Fossilized Amber and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Hickory Smoke. I spritzed the moon and sky with some water. I removed all of the masks at this point and using double-sided tape, I applied the coloured image to my card base using The Paper Studio – Primary Base Colours 4.25″ x 5.5″. Lastly, I applied some Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Oxide – Fossilized Amber to the outside edges of my sentiment and pop it up on the card using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

Card Recipe:

Stamp: Pumpkin Buddies – TT020 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Sentiment: Happy Halloween Script – F232 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps)

Be-Lated Birthday Chicks!!

Sharing a belated birthday card I made for my sister-in-law using Art Impressions – Spring Chicken Set – AiCS40. I really had fun with these cool Chicks! LOL!

Inside of the card.

To make the card, I began with the base of 5.5″ x 4.25″ Hammermill – Premium Colour cardstock. My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies and my Cuttlebug were used to die cut Echo Park Paper Co. – My Favorite Winter paper. I just loved this paper and thought it had the look of barn board for the chicken coop. Double-sided tape was applied to the back of the background paper and it was applied directly to the base card. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Aged Mahagony was used to ink around all of the edges of the card. Using Lifestyle Crafts Cutting Dies – Nesting Circles dies, I die cut 1 large circle from black cardstock and 1 smaller circle from Doodle Bug Designs Inc. – Down on the Farm paper. I inked around the smaller circle with the same Tim Holtz ink. I applied the 2 circles together using double-sided tape and then added 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the back of the larger circle and attached it to the background. The speech bubble was die cut with Spellbinders Die D-Lites – Conversation Bubble 4 and my Cuttlebug.

Using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, the images were stamped onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Cardstock and coloured in with Copic Markers. Once everything was coloured, I fussy cut around both images. I popped up the image on the front with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape and ran the second image through my Xyron Creative Station to make a sticker out of it and placed it on the inside of the card. All of the sentiments were stamped with Versa Fine – Onyx Black ink and then embossed with Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail Embossing Powder. Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Too heated the powder. The sentiment bubble was popped up onto the front of the card with 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

Merry and Bright!!

Today, I’m sharing a light up Christmas card using Dreamerland Crafts stamps called Lets Decorate Our Home – D18037 and for the sentiment Holiday Sentiments Set 003. It’s never too early to start making Christmas cards and here’s hoping that this card will brightens someone’s day this coming Christmas.

To make this card I used a base card of 5.5″ x 4.25″ using Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock. For the background paper, I used my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies to die cut American Crafts – “Holiday” paper. The edges were inked with Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Peacock Feathers and then I adhered the background to the base card using double-sided tape. Using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and coloured it in with Copic markers. I added some Stickles – Diamond to the pompom on the hat and fur at the top of the little girl’s boots. For the fluffy snow, I used Cosmic Shimmer Fluffy Stuff and sprinkled on some DecoArt Glamour Dust while it was still wet. Using my Marvy Heat Embossing Tool, I heated up the liquid for it to puff up and look like sparkling snow. I poked holes in the card where I wanted the blue lights to go. I applied some tissue paper over the holes on the back of the image to diffuse the lights. Using Versamark ink and my MISTI, I stamped the sentiment and then applied Ranger Embossing Powder White – Extra Fine Detail. This too was heated with my Marvy Heat Embossing Tool. Lastly, added some snowflakes using a Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen. I then set the coloured image aside.

It was now time to set up the bright blue lights for the house using Chibi Lights, copper tape and a battery. I cut out an another rectangle slightly smaller than the coloured image. Placing the coloured image over top of the smaller rectangle, I used a pencil for the placement of the lights on the roof. For the placement of the battery, I used the remote in the girl’s hands as a guide. After mapping out the route for the lights, I place the copper tape down and added 3 blue Chibi Lights to the “+” and “-” paths leading back to the battery. The set up was tested to make sure the lights would come on. Once this was completed, I used 3 layers of 3M VHB – 2 sided tape around the 3 sides of the battery to pop the image up high enough off of the card so that the battery would only light up the lights when someone pressed down on it. To keep the card even all the way around, I added 3 layers of 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the remainder of the smaller rectangle. The image was then attached to the smaller rectangle. I added some double-sided tape to the back of the smaller rectangle and adhered it directly to the card to finish it off.

Vampire Treat!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Vampire Treat – TT022 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Happy Halloween – H232 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Hard to believe Hallowe’en is just around the corner.

To make my card this week, I began with a card base made from Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. I die-cut the bat background paper from Echo Park – I Love Halloween paper pad using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies. The edges were inked with Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Oxide – Black Soot and then this piece was adhered directly to the base card using double-sided tape. The same dies were used to cut the orange cardstock and the edges were inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Carved Pumpkin. Double-sided tape was added to the back of this piece and it was added directly to the bat background paper. Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card was die cut with My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers and the sentiment shape was die cut with Whimsy Stamps – Quick Strips Die Set. Tim Holtz Ranger Distress Oxide – Fossilized Amber was used to ink around the sentiment shape edges.

The image and sentiment were then stamped using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured in the image with copic markers. I stamped out the image a second time and used my Brother Scan and Cut to cut it out so that I could use it as a mask to put over the coloured image. I also die cut a 1″ circle out of Inkadoo Stamping Mask Paper for the moon. I placed both masks onto the coloured image. I tore some masking tape in half vertically to create the grass pattern and then used the reverse to mask the grass while I did the sky. I saw this on a you-tube video and thought it was a cool technique. A mixture of Tim Holtz Ranger Distressed inks listed below were used to create the ground and sky. I removed all of the masks and then for the circle I used the reverse mask to section out just the circle centre and coloured in the moon with my Copic markers. To finish off the card, I applied 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the back of the image and sentiment and popped them both up on the card.

1st Communion!!

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Designs – Communion Cross from the new August release. This image comes with 3 sentiments. I’ve used 1 on my card, but you also have the choice of  “First Communion” and “On Your First Holy Communion”. This would be great image and sentiment to give to either your child or a friend’s child celebrating this blessed sacrament.

To make the card, I first imported the image and sentiment into Microsoft Word and printed it out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I die cut the image and frame using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers dies. I coloured in the the image with Copic markers and then placed Kraftin’ Kimmie – Starburst stencil over top and taped off the area that I wanted to use. Using Copic Y04, I coloured in the darker rays using the stencil as a guide. The tape was carefully removed from the top and sides of the stencil. The tape was placed back down at the top before removing the tape from the bottom of the stencil. After removing the stencil completely, the tape was placed back down on the 2 sides and bottom where the darker rays ended. Using the darker rays as a guide, I coloured in the lighter rays using Copic Y00 marker. All of the tape was removed at this point which left a nice thin white border around it.

Using the same dies again, I die-cut Crafter’s Companion – Luxury Cardstock – Gold to use for my background.

The card was now ready to assemble. Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. was used to create the card base of 5.5″ x 4.25″. The gold background was added directly to the base using double-sided tape. 3M VHB – 2 sided tape was added to the back of the image to pop it up and it was placed directly over the gold background.

Card Recipe:

Stamp and sentiment: Communion Cross – KLM Digital Designs

Inks: HP Printer Grayscale

Paper: Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb., Crafter’s Companion – Luxury Cardstock – Gold

Die Cut: My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers

Stencil: Kraftin’ Kimmie – Starburst

Miscellaneous:  3M VHB – 2 sided tape, Cuttlebug

Image coloured with Copic Markers:

Cross: B60, C1, C00, Colorless Blender

Grapes, Vines and Leaves: V09, V06, V04, V01, YG25, YG17, YG03, YG01

Baking Snowman!!

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Designs – Baking Snowman from the July release. This image comes with 3 sentiments. I’ve used 1 on my card, but you also have the choice of  “Lovin’ from the oven” and “Wishing you a delicious Holiday”. Christmas at our house always had so many wonderful aromas from my mom baking all kinds of Christmas goodies for everyone!

To make the card, I first imported the image and sentiment into Microsoft Word and printed it out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I die the image and frame using my Cuttlebug and Creative Expression Craft Dies by Sue Wilson – Paper Cuts Collection – Christmas Feast dies. I coloured the image in with Copic markers and then added in the snowflakes for the sky with Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen. Black PrismaColor Premier Pencil was used to outline parts of the image. Gina K Designs – Glitz Glitter Gel – Iridescent was added below the snowman to create the sparkling snow and the image was set aside to dry.

The frame for the sentiment die was cut twice using Gina Marie Designs – Nested Scalloped Stitched Rectangles. A cutter was used to remove the frame from the one that contained the sentiment. The edges were then inked with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Barn Door. Viva Decor – Inka-Gold – Yellowgold was applied to the other 2 frames and then once it was dry, a paper towel was used to buff them up and give the gold some shine. The sentiment was then applied directly to the small frame using double-sided tape.

The card was now ready to assemble. Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. was used to create the card base. It was sized at 8-5/8″ x 7¼” and then scored at 3-5/8″. I used my Couture Creations – Go Power and Emboss to die cut Hot Buy Craft Smart – Holiday Glitz Glitter Paper using PinkFresh Studio Essentials – Slim Stitched Rectangle Dies. The dimensions were the same as the base card. Using glue, I applied the large rectangle die-cut directly to the base card. Next, I used the outside frame for the snowman as a guide to where to place the coloured image. I removed the image and applied glue to the back of it and set it back inside the frame. Once the image was glued down to the base, I added glue to the back of the frame and moved it into place around the coloured image to complete the puzzle. 3M VHB – 2 sided tape was added to the back of the frame for the sentiment and it was added directly to the glitter paper. Lastly, to finish off my card, I removed the button parts from the backs of the buttons from Dress It Up – Holiday Collection – Christmas Cookies using my Tim Holtz scissors and pliers.  Mini Glue Dots were applied to the backs of each of the buttons and they were applied directly to the glitter paper.

Card Recipe:

Stamp and sentiment: Baking Snowman – KLM Digital Designs

Inks: HP Printer Grayscale, Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Barn Door

Paper: Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card, Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb., Hot Buy Craft Smart – Holiday Glitz Glitter Paper 12″ x 12″

Think Snow!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Snowman Stumble – TT014 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Think Snow 2 – FF047 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. I grew up skating at the outdoor rink directly across the street from my house. We couldn’t wait to get home from school and throw on our skates. The rinks were always full of children from the neighbourhood. We would either play rink games or hockey. I think there was a rink every couple of blocks. As soon as we’d finish eating, we were back on the ice again. Our parents were always yelling at us to come inside at the end of the day. How times have changed. LOL!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base made from Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 4.25″. My Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies were used to die cut Hot Buy Craft Smart – Holiday Glitz Glitter Paper to be the same size as the base card. With a Picket Fence – Blending Brush and a mixture of Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Blueprint Sketch and Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean, I created the background sky. I applied this directly to the glitter background paper. Once this was done, I applied this directly to the base using double-sided tape. Next, Nellie’s Choice – Nature Scene Dies – NSD001 – Mountains were used to die cut the tree scenery using Momenta – Cardstock and using a small dauber I added in some darker touches of green using Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Peeled Paint. The pond was die cut using Whimsy Stamps – Wavy Nested Frame Dies Set and Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I inked the image and sentiment using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black. Lastly, I die cut the sentiment using Joy Crafts – Labels and Tags and inked around the edges with my Picket Fence – Blending Brush and the ink that was still on it from doing the sky.

I coloured in the image with Copic markers and added in some highlights on the skate blades with Pental Sunburst Metalic Med Gel Pen. I inked the image a second time onto the Hot Buy Craft Smart – Holiday Glitz Glitter Paper for the snowman body and fussy cut around it. Once it was coloured in with Copics, I ran it through my Xyron Create a Sticker and attached it to the base stamped image.

The card was now ready to assemble. Part of the pond was cut off at the top before it was attached it to the sparkly background using glue and double-sided tape. Next, I added some 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the back of the trees and applied it over top of where the sky ended and the pond met. To create the snow around the pond and in between the trees, pond and snow, I used Cosmic Shimmer Fluffy Stuff and added some DecoArt Glamour Dust while it was still wet. Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool was used to heat the liquid and make it puff up to look like fluffy snow. I added some Stickles – Diamond to the pompom. Using a Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen and Sharpie Water Based Paint – White – Extra Fine Point pen, I created the snow in the sky. Lastly, to finish off the card, I added 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the sentiment and applied it to the card.

From All Of Us!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Fresh Baked – TT004 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and From All of Us – FF046 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Looks like Santa and my husband have one thing in common!! They both love cookies!!! Especially, when they are fresh baked out of the oven. LOL!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base made from Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cut and scored to be 5.5″ x 5.5″. I chose Echo Park Co. – Twas the Night Before Christmas for my background paper and trimmed it to be the same size as the card. I applied double-sided tape to it and adhered it directly to the base card. With my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out, I die cut the next 3 layers using Hot Buy – Craft Smart – Christmas Embossed, Green Cardstock and Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I applied double-sided tape to the light green layer and attached it directly to the background layer. Then, I added some 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the back of the Green Cardstock and applied that on top of the light green layer. I die cut the circle for the sentiment using some spare Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock using My Creative Time – Bunch of Fun Circle Dies and the ornament pieces using My Creative Time – Fun Stitched Ornaments & More and some scrap Red Cardstock and Hammermill Cardstock. Using a
PĂ¯lot Silver Marker – Medium Point pen, the top piece was coloured in.

The image and sentiment were then applied using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I coloured in the image with copic markers. Then I added Stickles – Diamond to the lady’s cuffs, dress trim, hat and collar and Stickles – Icicle to the man’s hat, pompom, collar, cuffs and trim on his coat. I also added this to the boy’s pompoms. Using the PĂ¯lot Silver Marker – Medium Point pen, I traced around the outside of the circle for the sentiment.

Once everything on the image was dry, I applied double-sided tape to the back of it and applied the image to the top of the dark green layer. 3M VHB – 2 sided tape was added to the back of the sentiment and ornament ball. I assembled both pieces to the top of the card. Lastly, I added in some gold tinsel through the hole at the top of the ornament.

The Happy Couple!!

Today, I’m sharing a card that I made using the image from The Paper Shelter called The Happy Couple. I made this card for a colleague who was married recently. Here’s wishing the happy couple a very long and happy marriage!

To make the card, I first imported the image into Microsoft Word and then printed it out on my HP Printer using High Quality Grayscale. The image was printed onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I coloured in the image using Copic markers and then fussy cut around it.

Using my Cuttlebug, Spellbinders – S6-138 dies, and I die cut Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. 5 times for the layers and twice for the sides. For the front of the card, I die cut Crafts Pearl Papers – 02-3081416 with the same dies. For the grass, I die-cut Lawn Fawn – Shadow Box Card Park Add-On and Lawn Fawn – Simple Grassy Hillsides using Momenta – Cardstock. Lastly, I die-cut the flag banner using Crafter’s Companion – Luxury Cardstock – Navy Blue and Craftin Desert Diva’s – Flag Banner Dies and the sentiment was die cut 5 times with Hammermill – Premium Colour 100 lb. cardstock and once with Hot Buy Craft Smart – Holiday Glitz Glitter Paper using PaperCrafter Today – 15 Die Cut Sentiment Set.

For the back panel using stencils I had made previously out of Avery Elle – Pierced Clouds Dies, I coloured in the sky using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Salty Ocean and Tim Holtz Distress Inks – Broken China. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Mowed Lawn was used to colour in the grass. The card was now ready to put together. I started with the coloured background and added the coloured image to it using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

This was adhered to the side panels using double-side tape on both sides.  Working from back to front, I added on the next layer and applied the grass die cut to front of the layer. This was put through the tabs on the side. I added in the next layers in the same manner. A layer with more grass was added to the 4th layer. I added in the next layer and then for the very front I once again cut off the tabs on both sides and then attached it to the sides using double-sided tape. The banner was then added using glue. The paper for the sentiment had been put through my Xyron Creative Station prior to cutting it. This made it easy to peel of the back of the stickers for each layer and assembling them on top of each other. I used the white layers for the bottom of the sentiment and for the final piece, I used the gold. A small jewel dot was used to finish off the dotted “i”.

Card Recipe:

Sending Big Hugs!!

Today, I’m sharing a card using this super adorable image from Dreamerland Crafts stamps called My True Love – D18018. Great big in person hugs or even virtual hugs are always nice to give to give to someone or something that you love.

Here is a close-up of the featured image.

To make this card I used a base card of 8-7/8″ x 3-7/8″ using Aqua cardstock. I die cut Crafts – Foil Designer Paper – 02-3080678 using my Couture Creations – Go Power and Emboss and PinkFresh Studio Essentials – Slim Stitched Rectangle Die Set. Using Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Evergreen Bough, I inked all around the edges of the card and die cut. Then I inked the front of the die cut with Tim Holtz Distress Inks: Tumbled Glass, Evergreen Bough, Peacock Feathers, and Speckled Egg using Picket Fence Studio Blender Brushes. Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Rustic Wilderness was applied last at the bottom of the panel to represent grass. I applied 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the back of the die cut and added it to the base card.

Using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink, I stamped the main image onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card and coloured it in with Copic markers. The coloured image was fussy cut out and a black marker was used to go around all of the edges. This was then applied directly to the patterned paper using 3M VHB – 2 sided tape.

To create the “Sending Big Hugs” sentiment, I first took an 8.5″ x 11″ piece of black cardstock and cut it at the 4.25″ mark. Then I ran both pieces through my Xyron Create a Sticker. I find this makes it much simpler than trying to add glue to each piece. Once this was done, using my Cuttlebug, I die cut the black cardstock using Lawn Fawn – “Sending Big Hugs” die 6 times. Then I did it 1 more time using Forever In Time – Glam Glitter Cardstock – Ombre Pastel after I had run it through my Xyron Create a Sticker. I cut around the word “Big” to make it stand out.

I peeled off the sticker from the back of each of them and applied each layer on top of each other to create an embossed image. Then I added the sparkly “Big” as a last layer. I applied this to the patterned paper at the top of the card. Lastly, If felt something was missing, so I added some Stickles – Aqua all around the edges of the large rectangle die cut.

Card Recipe:

It Will Be Oak-ay!!

Sharing a card I made today using KLM Digital Designs – Fall Oak Gnome from the July release. This image comes with 3 sentiments. I’ve used 1 on my card, but you also have the choice of  “Oak-ey Dokey” and “Hope You are Oak-ky”. I love the sentiment that I chose for this card because you could use it for so many different occasions. It could be used as a  “Get Well” card, an “inspirational card” for someone about to write a big exam or a “Just Because” card.

To make the card, I first imported the image into Microsoft Word and printed it out onto Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I die cut it to the size of 5.5″ x 4.5″ using my Cuttlebug and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Dies and My Creative Time – Rectangle Frame Layers dies. I inked around the brown layer with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Gathered Twigs and around the patterned paper with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Rusty Hinge. The image was coloured in with Copic markers and attached directly to the brown layer. The largest die cut which was cut from Your Next Stamp – Fabulous Fall patterned paper was applied directly to the card base of 5.5″ x 4.25″ Hammermill – Premium Colour cardstock using double-sided tape. 3M VHB – 2 sided tape was applied to the back of the brown rectangle and adhered directly to the patterened paper. To complete my card, I added a little squirrel button from Dress It Up – Backyard Buddies using double-sided tape and glue.

Good Times!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Joy Ride – TT002 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Good Times – GLL006 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. Christmas is always a wonderful time to gather with family and friends. Thinking of snow right now is also a way to cool down with all of this summer heat too! LOL!

To make my card this week, I began with a card base made from AC White Cardstock cut and scored to be 6″ x 6″. I chose Echo Park Paper Co. – My Favorite Winter (6″ x 6″) for my background paper and trimmed just a little off of the sides. Then, I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Blueprint Sketch and inked around all of the edges. I added some glue to the back of the paper and applied it to the base card. Using My Creative Time -Stitched Squares Inside and Out, I die cut a larger square from Recollections – Burgundy cardstock and a smaller square from Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card. I inked around the edges of the larger square with Tim Holtz Distress Ink – Aged Mahagony and applied 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the back of it and applied to the background. I die cut the sentiment label with My Creative Time – Stitched Rectangular Frames Dies and More. The image and sentiment were then applied using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink. I applied Stickles – Unicorn around the edges of the label and set it aside to dry.

I coloured in the image with copic markers. Then I added Stickles – Eucalyptus to the lady’s cuff and collar and Stickles – Crystal to her hat and pompom. For the man, I applied Nuvo Glitter Accents – Fresh Snowfall to his hat and pompom. Lastly, I added some Brutus Monroe – Snow Paste using a spatula to the bottom outer edge of the image to represent a snow bank on the side of the road. Using a Gelly Roll Sakura #10 Pen, Gelly Roll Sakura #5 Pen, Glitter Glue Pen and DecoArt Glamour Dust, I created the snowy background. Gelly Roll Sparkle Pen was used to colour in the Holly on the wreath.

Once everything on the image was dry, I applied some glue to the back of it and applied it directly on top of the larger square. I applied some glue and some 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the sentiment and applied that on an angle at the top of the card. I only put the tape in a few spots so that it would be the same height as the image. To finish off the card, I added some CC Designs – Dragon Dreams Enamel Dots on to the sentiment and some sequence.

Happy Xmas Couple!!!

It’s Wednesday, and this week, I made a card using Happy Together – TT007 by High Hopes Rubber Stamps for the main image and Holiday All Year – H200 (High Hopes Rubber Stamps) for the sentiment. This month High Hopes Rubber Stamps is celebrating Christmas in July! Have you started your Christmas cards yet for this year?

To make my card this week, I began with a card base made from AC White Cardstock cut and scored to be 6″ x 6″. I inked around the edges of American Crafts – “Holiday” paper cut to the same size with Sharpie – Gold Medium Point – Water Based Paint. Then I applied it directly to the base card with double-sided tape. The larger oval was die cut using my Cuttlebug, Forever In Time – Texture Rouge paper and Gina Marie Designs – Big and Little Pierced Chain Oval Layered Dies. Using VersaMark ink, I inked around all of the edges of the oval and then applied Stampendous Stamp-n Stuff – Gold Tinsel and heat embossed it with Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool. This was then applied directly to the base card using Forever In Time – Double-sided foam tape. I die cut the Copic Marker X-Press It Blending Card paper using oval dies from the same set and Whimsy Stamps – Bookmark and Tags Die Set was used to die cut Lawn Fawn – Watercolor Wishes Rainbow paper.

The image was stamped using my MISTI and Memento – Tuxedo Black ink onto the smaller oval. I coloured in the image with Copic markers. The sentiment is actually 2 lines, but I wanted it to fit inside the gift die, so I used Scotch tape to mask off the words I didn’t want to show each time. I used my MISTI to do the stamping and Versa Fine – Onyx Black and Ranger – Clear Super Fine Detail embossing powder to emboss it. I used my Marvy Uchida – Embossing Heat Tool to emboss the powder. I cleaned off the stamp and then repositioned it again, repeating the previous steps. I did this 4 times. To finish off the sentiment give box, I applied some VersaMark ink to the bow and around all of the edges of the die cut. Next, I added Stampendous Stamp-n Stuff – Gold Tinsel embossing powder and heat embossed everything using my heating tool.

To assemble the card, I added 3M VHB – 2 sided tape to the back of the coloured image and Forever In Time – Double-sided foam tape to the back of the sentiment and applied them both to the card. To finish everything off and give it a little bit of sparkle, I added some dots on the holly using Stickles – Xmas Red.
